The concept of decentralized applications (DApps) emerged in 2015 with the introduction of smart contracts by Ethereum. These contracts allowed developers to create applications on the blockchain with automated execution capabilities. Unlike traditional centralized apps, DApps operate on decentralized networks, offering increased transparency and security. In 2024, the global user base for digital currencies reached 562 million people, up from 420 million in 2023. This surge in cryptocurrency ownership reflects a 34% increase from the previous year. As the number of global cryptocurrency users grew, so did the adoption of DApps. According to CompTIA and Grand View Research, as of 2024, over 3 million smart contracts have been deployed on blockchains, with approximately 70–80% used for DApps. Additionally, DappRadar approved 2,985 new DApps in 2023, bringing the global total to 16,618 as of July 2024.

Challenges in DApp Development

While DApps offer a promising vision of decentralized applications, their development and growth pose significant challenges. These challenges span various aspects, from development and deployment to data storage, computation, and scalability. One of the primary challenges faced by DApps is scalability, the ability to handle increasing user activity and transaction volume without compromising performance. As DApps gain popularity, the underlying blockchain networks may experience congestion, leading to slower transaction processing times, higher fees, and network delays.The early success of CryptoKitties highlighted this scalability issue. Since then, to address scalability issues, various solutions such as Rollup, Plasma and different conseue mechanisms have been proposed and implemented. However, the challenges faced by DApps extend beyond just on-chain limitations. In fact, while smart contracts running on blockchain provide a core functionality layer, many DApps still rely on centralized components for various aspects of their operation. The user interface, the code dictating user interactions with the DApp (front-end logic), and even the business logic code governing the DApp’s operations might all be hosted on centralized servers. The code and files could be stored in centralized cloud services. For example, nearly 50% (equivalent to $160 million) of Solana’s top NFTs are stored on centralized clouds. Therefore, ensuring secure, distributed, scalable, and efficient cloud computing and storage remains a significant challenge.

Beyond the aforementioned costs of securing and planning computational power, DApp development must also consider the creation and auditing of smart contracts, blockchain network transaction fees (Gas), and the maintenance of decentralized infrastructure. Consequently, it requires more time and meticulous planning compared to developing a regular app. Therefore, the initial planning phase must be extremely thorough, involving rigorous auditing and testing to prevent vulnerabilities and hacker attacks. According to a Consensys report, the time required to develop a full-fledged DApp averages between 6 to 12 months, whereas traditional applications typically take 3 to 6 months. Managing a DApp is also more complex than managing a regular application, mainly because once deployed, smart contracts are challenging to modify.

To reduce development and deployment complexities, DApp developers can leverage open-source tools for development such as Truffle, Hardhat, and solutions like IPFS for decentralized storage. However, the research and selection process of available tools and platforms can be tiring and time-consuming. Moreover, no single platform currently offers an end-to-end solution for the entire development-to-deployment process and computing and storage resource management.

We are excited to announce the upcoming first round of the InitVerse Community Trading Competition! Here, we will provide detailed information about the process, rules, and rewards of the competition.

Phase 1: Team Formation and Top 10 Token Voting

On July 8th, we will commence a week-long voting session on the InitVerse Telegram and Discord communities. Community members will vote to select the 10 most popular tokens. The voting process will be transparent, allowing members to view real-time progress.

Team Formation Rules: Participants must form teams of three.

Team Review Criteria:

• Must be registered CANDY users.

• Teams need to register their CANDY user information with community administrators.

• Each team must create a team poster.

Team Formation Reward: Each team member will receive 500 testnet USDT, distributed within 72 hours after the voting ends.

Voting Period: July 8, 08:00 — July 14, 12:00 (UTC+4).

Voting Method and Reward: Please join the InitVerse Telegram or Discord community. Register voting information through the link provided in the communities (including a 0x address for receiving points). After the voting ends, each participant will receive 100 INI points within 72 hours.

Top 10 Token Criteria: The top 10 tokens will be selected based on the number of votes, with each token needing at least 300 votes to qualify.

Phase 2: Announcement of Top 10 Tokens and Liquidity Injection

After the voting ends, the top 10 TOKENS, participant IDs, and team names will be announced on Twitter.

InitVerse will provide initial liquidity to the winning Tokens. Participants must inject 50% of the Tokens they created for the competition into this address: I44SxPJvbAtUEaRZ2mPovGzpULj9TbaKo5Hsoak9yeU6eLCDXQWWRMAVP

⚠️ Token Sale Restriction: Selling the remaining 50% of the tokens is prohibited. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification from the competition and forfeiture of any rewards obtained.

⚠️ Link Verification: All links must be verified by official members to avoid encountering fraudulent links during the event, which may lead to unnecessary losses.

Phase 3: Launch of the Official Trading Competition

The top 10 teams will enter the official trading competition, where each team can only trade the token they created. Other teams can still participate in trading for a chance to qualify as substitutes.

Competition Duration: Each trading competition will last 30 days, continuing until the mainnet launch (based on the announcement of the “Event Official Start” tweet).

Weekly Qualification Check:

• Trading Volume: The transaction volume of the participating token must not be less than 50,000 USDT. Token/Team below this volume will be disqualified and rewards forfeited. If there are vacancies, the 11th-ranked team from the voting can join the competition as a substitute, needing to achieve a minimum transaction amount of 20,000 USDT in the first week (only applicable for substitute tokens).

• Liquidity Pool: The participating top 10 tokens/teams must maintain at least 45% of their created tokens during the official competition assessment. For example, Team A created INIC, was voted into the top 10, and participated in the competition. After injecting 50% of the token into the official address, it will be added to the liquidity pool. Weekly assessments will ensure that 50% of the liquidity is not below 45%; otherwise, the team will be disqualified and forfeit rewards.

• Team Ranking Criteria: Teams will be judged based on their average monthly trading volume, with weekly assessments. Final rankings will be based on the monthly team transaction volume, which must not be less than 200,000 USDT. The top three teams will be selected monthly.

Criteria:

Achieve a trading volume of 100,000 USDT and complete not less than 400 transactions to unlock a 3000-point reward + 10 USDT, which can be claimed upon completion.

Explanation: Based on 3 participants’ trading volume, each person needs to complete 133 transactions per week, with each transaction amounting to no less than 250 USDT. Each person only needs to trade 20 times per day, making it easy to complete this task within a week!

Achieve a trading volume of 200,000 USDT and complete not less than 500 transactions to unlock a whitelist spot for INI mainnet TOKEN with a minimal value 100 USDT .

Explanation: Based on 3 participants’ trading volume, each person needs to complete 167 transactions per week, with each transaction amounting to no less than 400 USDT. Each person only needs to trade 24 times per day, making it easy to complete this task within a week!

Trading Competition Prize Distribution:

• The top three teams in monthly trading volume will receive INI mainnet whitelist prizes, with a minimum value of 100 USDT each. Each team can only receive the whitelist reward once; subsequent wins will receive other rewards instead.

• Rewards for unlocking transaction volumes will be distributed to each member, claimable only once.

• INI mainnet whitelist prizes will be distributed after the mainnet launch. All other activity rewards will be distributed within 72 hours after each trading competition round.

• Prize claims require verification of CANDY registration information. Winners need to DM the community administrator with the airdrop website address INI and 0x address, Twitter, Telegram, or Discord ID for verification.

Geth Node Upgrade

A bug that could prevent nodes from synchronizing properly has been identified and resolved. Currently, there are two implementations of the provider service:

• InitVerse's Public Service Users: No immediate action is required.

• We will standardize node switching for public service users in the future and will provide a detailed switchover plan in advance.

• Users with Self-Built Geth Nodes: You need to switch the provider service to your own geth node

• To ensure the stability of the InitVerse ecosystem, we strongly recommend that users who have built their own geth nodes upgrade to the latest geth version as soon as possible.

Upgrade Instructions

To upgrade your geth node, follow these steps based on your setup:

1. Compiling the Source Code:

   • Pull the source code again to ensure the commit is updated to 890e4852ac57464576785e5c3eb04a017cc88cb0.

   • Recompile the source code.

   • Replace the running node process after the compilation is complete.

2. Using Docker:

   • Update the node image using Docker.
