Hello and welcome to my Mirror page! In the interest of expanding the scope of my art studio practice, I have decided to use NFTs as a way to reach more people in the art world and beyond.

I intend to create digital drawings and animations specifically for minting and posting them for sale on this Mirror page. In addition, I will create NFTs of my works on paper and canvas to be sold alongside the physical works. This will allow a collector to maintain ownership of the physical art object while still being able to capitalize on the investment potential of the digital art market using the NFT versions.

Introduction to Jared Rishikof's Studio Practice

Jared Rishikof is a Boston-born artist living and working in Toronto where he studies visual art at the University of Toronto Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Design. Pulling from his work experience in construction and architecture, Rishikof's body of work explores the creation and destruction of forms through space and time. His art practice is primarily focused on painting and is informed by the early 20th century avant-garde in addition to modernist architecture and design principles. Rishikof uses painting to interact with the built form and designed objects that surround him. The preliminary structures of his paintings are often a building or object that is significant to Rishikof that is abstracted by the extension and distortion of the linework and fields of color. Conflicting fields of perspective, bold linework, and intentionally organized forms and colors create a distorted field of visual perception that prevents the eye from sitting comfortably while viewing the works. Rishikof can engage with a building or object in a new way, with the finished product allowing him to see an object expanded and abstracted through different perspectives of continuity and change in time and space.
