Welcome to the Ed3verse

The Ed3 Unconference is a virtual, gamified, learning and networking experience focused on web3; contextualized for education. This three-day event organized by Ed3 DAO will be held Friday, November 11th to Sunday, November 13th. Attendees will experience a hybrid of organized presentations mixed with a day of self-organized learning, inside an immersive virtual world.

If you are an educator, mentor, innovator, life-long learner, or supporter of those who are, this is the place for you.

Learning will be delivered as presentations, masterminds, edtalks, learning labs, vendor booths, networking, games, mazes, and pop-up self-directed sessions. As an avatar, attendees will have the freedom to explore a beautiful immersive learning environment, network with experts on the edge of innovation, and leave inspired. Day One

On day one, attendees will choose from a schedule of organized presentations and masterminds to attend inside a beautiful metaverse environment. Each presentation or talk is designed to illuminate part of the extensive web3 landscape, explain its impact on education now and provide practical implications for the future. Participants can:

🚀 Explore virtual worlds for education, learn from experts in the field who successfully use them in schools, and walk through building one for themselves.

🚀 Interested in blockchain? Attendees will understand how “learn to earn” and on-chain learning credentials can replace the inequity of grades and empower struggling, lost, or bored students worldwide.

🚀 Curious about student identity and data privacy as innovation explodes? Attendees can learn the emerging literacies, best practices of use, and current security trends in web3.

🚀 What about AI? Worried about plagiarism? Attendees will explore AI assisted writing tools, learn to leverage them for learning, and reflect on fairly constructed student writing assessments.

🚀 Want to start your own project? Attendees will have the chance to learn how to build thoughtful, diverse communities around web3 projects from some of the most successful community builders in the web3 space today.

The aim of this conference is to empower educators and change makers, especially those who’ve been historically and systematically excluded, with unprecedented access to learning, representation, networking, guidance, and a hopeful path forward in education.

Day Two

On day two, perhaps the most anticipated day of the conference, attendees will choose their own self-organized learning adventure. Here, participants can focus on topics that matter most to them based on personal reflections from the day before and feedback to the conference organizers. Attendees will have unprecedented access to some of the most creative and inspirational minds at the intersection of education and technology. They include founders and Directors from CityDAO, Digital Promise, Gitcoin, Fordham University, Getting Smart, Black Creators DAO, Samsung, Pearson, and The Learning Economy Foundation.

The day will begin with live-streamed edtalks, followed up by mastermind sessions focused on amplifying the United Nations Sustainable Goals (SDGs) with web3, legal topics in the metaverse, and real use cases for learning with and within crypto-native systems.

Day Three

Day three will return to a schedule of organized presentations, with a “deeper dive” into the philosophy of education on the bleeding edge of innovation. Attendees will reflect on decentralized ethics in education, web3’s long-term impact on higher education, the power of on-chain credentials, making web3 work for workforce education, and much more. Everyday attendees will:

🚀 Engage innovators in web3 and experts in education about the utility (and risks) of blockchain, metaverse, NFTs, and cryptocurrency in education.

🚀 Attend practical sessions on how the web3 ecosystem impacts learning.
