In 2022, at a low point in her career, Nkechi’s sister, introduced her to Web3. Skeptical at first, she overcame her apprehension, joined Web3Ladies as a Program Manager, and began her blockchain journey. This pivotal moment marked the start of an exciting career in creating meaningful initiatives within the Web3 space.

She co-founded Base Africa, a regional initiative under Base, to host in-real-life (IRL) meetups, workshops, hackathons, and community events across Africa. With established chapters in Nigeria, South Africa, and soon Ghana, Base Africa's mission is to onboard more Africans onchain through Base, one African country at a time.

Under Nkechi’s leadership, Base Africa has organized over four major events, including the recently ended Based Africa Hack Days for the Based Africa Buildathon, which saw significant participation from builders in the region. Victoria’s journey into blockchain and Web3 started with a simple opportunity: representing Polygon at a local meetup. “I literally had to read all about blockchain and Polygon technology in like one day,” she recalls. This one-day crash course sparked her interest and led her to become an official Polygon advocate. She quickly expanded her skills, learning about crypto trading, community management, and even venturing into coding, specifically front-end development and data science. “I kept on pushing, practicing, and learning,” she reflects, recounting the numerous roles that came her way, including a mentorship stint with the Zurich team.

Victoria’s enthusiasm for community management became a central theme in her career. Her knack for engaging and educating communities caught the attention of various organizations, eventually leading her to work as a researcher and community manager at BABS Labs. “The journey has been exciting,” she says, describing it as a steady progression filled with opportunities to grow. Alongside community work, Victoria contributed technical articles during her time as a writer for Mara, which involved crafting educational content on Web3 and blockchain.

Beyond her formal roles, Victoria co-founded OnChain Learn, a platform focused on educating people about BASE Blockchain. Initially, her interest in BASE led her to produce educational content for the ecosystem, which received a warm response from the community. Seeing this impact, she decided to establish a dedicated learning platform. If you’re good at what you do, it speaks for itself.”

Nat’s career path has taken him through a variety of industries, but his heart has always been in building things from the ground up. He began as an Asset Analyst at Sphinx Development Corporation in Dallas, Texas, where he gained valuable experience in analyzing and managing financial assets.

In 2021, Nat founded Thai Crypto News with the goal of delivering the fastest crypto updates to the Thai community. He live streamed crypto news in Thai five days a week at 7 AM for over two years, producing more than 300 episodes. Thai Crypto News became a trusted source for staying informed about the latest in the crypto world. However, as the focus of the industry evolved, Thai Crypto News was rebranded into GM Learning Club to emphasize education and foundational knowledge in Web3, shifting away from tracking crypto prices to providing deeper insights into the Web3 ecosystem.

Today, Nat channels his energy into GM Learning Club, which he founded in 2021. This educational community focuses on simplifying complex Web3 topics, making them understandable for a wider audience. Through workshops, online resources, and a growing community, GM Learning Club has become a key player in Thailand’s NFT and Web3 scene.

How did you first get involved in community management and the Web3 space?

Aimeric: My interest in digital marketing is what initially led me to community management. As I learned more about the tech world, blockchain and cryptocurrencies caught my attention. After completing several certifications, including one from Binance Africa, I became more involved in the Web3 space. It was exciting because blockchain is changing how we approach finance and technology, especially in Africa.

Reflecting on your journey in community management and digital marketing, what inspired you to pursue this path, and what has been the most rewarding experience so far!

Aimeric: At first, I wanted to put the time I spent on social networks to good use, monetize my skills and above all earn money on the Internet because I'd seen other young people around me doing it.

The aim was just to earn money, but after a while, working hard, contributing to the success of various projects and accumulating successes and rewards, I got the taste for it; I became addicted. I saw that I was made for it, and I'm sticking with it, no matter what difficulties come my way.

You’ve collaborated with various brands, including Binance,  Bitget and Ave.ai. Can you share a project that felt more like a passion project rather than work, and what you learned from it?

Aimeric: I've worked with some big-name projects, as you said, but my best experience was with Ave.ai.
It was my very first professional experience in Web3 and the one that gave me a taste for the field.
Thanks to it, I was able to deepen my knowledge of Community Management and also develop other interpersonal skills that today constitute my strength in our ecosystem.

In a fast-paced world of social media and community management, how do you stay motivated and maintain balance in your personal and professional life?
Aimeric: I admit that Community Management is a time-consuming activity and it's often complicated to balance your personal and professional life.
But here's how I do it :
> Setting clear boundaries between work and personal life helps ;
> Prioritizing self-care, continuous learning, and time management to avoid burnout ;
> Regularly celebrating small wins and staying organized ;
> Avoiding jumping at every opportunity.

What’s the most unexpected or fun lesson you’ve learned from managing online communities?
Aimeric: Despite everything, Community Management is a skill that helps you to better control your emotions.
Whatever your degree of irritation, when faced with an unfamiliar audience you're obliged to pull yourself together and calm down before reacting to a complaint or provocation.

Outside of work, how do you spend your downtime, and are there any hobbies that you feel contribute to your professional skills?
Aimeric: I am a Community Manager, but OTAKU in my spare time.
So I'm often playing video games or following anime.

If you could offer one piece of advice to someone just starting in community management, based on your own experiences, what would it be?
Aimeric: Community Management is a constantly evolving field. Things aren't stable, so you have to keep learning, keep learning, keep updating.

Coded Scientist: Being a ‘reply guy’ is all about engaging communities actively. I found a niche where I could interact with people in the Web3 space, helping them understand concepts, answering questions, and contributing to conversations. It’s a way to build trust and credibility while showcasing the brand’s presence consistently. Brands and influencers appreciate this as it helps keep their audience engaged, and that’s why I’ve been able to secure several collaborations in this area.

Q: You also work as a ghostwriter for various brands. What does your writing process look like?

Coded Scientist: Yes, I often write as a ghostwriter for projects. Sometimes I create content that is published under my own name, but most of my work is shared through the brands I collaborate with. I focus on using platforms like Twitter, where I post threads and engage with communities. My writing process involves understanding the brand's voice, their audience, and tailoring the message in a way that resonates with them while also making complex Web3 concepts simple and engaging.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge in transitioning to the Web3 space?

Coded Scientist: Initially, it was the uncertainty of finding jobs and securing consistent work. However, I realized that building a strong online presence and engaging consistently opened up opportunities. Most of my work now comes from referrals, thanks to the trust I’ve built in the community. It was about creating value first, and once people saw that, they reached out to me.

Q: What advice would you give to aspiring Web3 content creators and community managers/ Reply guy?

Coded Scientist: I would say, start by engaging. Don’t focus too much on securing jobs initially. Build your brand by being present in the community, replying to threads, sharing insights, and making connections. Over time, as you build a reputation for being knowledgeable and helpful, opportunities will naturally come your way. Also, always stay updated with the latest in Web3—it’s a rapidly evolving field, and staying informed is crucial.

Q: What’s a core personal value that you bring into your work in Web3?

Coded Scientist: The core personal value I bring into my work in Web3 is approaching each client and project as if it were my own business. I believe in communicating effectively and treating my work not just as a job, but with the same dedication and responsibility as if I owned the business.
