After introducing in detail the impact of the Sino US trade war on the company and the response measures taken by the company, the chairman of the company suddenly turned the conversation, lamented the difficulties faced by small enterprises and called on government departments to protect small enterprises.

As a listed leading enterprise, why does it suddenly call for “protecting small enterprises”? It seems unimaginable, but after listening carefully, everything is relieved - its call for “protecting small enterprises” is not a gesture “show”, but due to the strong call for the sustainable development of large enterprises themselves. At least, the survival and development of small enterprises will affect the sustainable development and business expansion of large enterprises from two aspects.

First, the existence of small enterprises will directly affect the production and operation of large enterprises along the supply chain. The difficulties faced by small enterprises, especially the shutdown for various reasons, will weaken the supply chain of large enterprises in total and directly push up the raw material cost of large enterprises.

In recent years, small enterprises have faced the superposition of multiple factors, unstable expectations and worrying survival. First, the “one size fits all” environmental remediation makes small enterprises face the uncertainty of being shut down or even closed at any time, which makes the operation of a single enterprise lack a sense of security, increases the operation pressure, and also affects the enterprises upstream and downstream of the industrial chain. Second, the “administrative” elimination of backward excess capacity, so that small enterprises often bear the brunt in eliminating excess and backward capacity. and,

Under the influence of the above-mentioned factors, the willingness of small enterprises to invest has declined and the demand for effective credit is insufficient. Second: the dependence on the supply chain of upstream small enterprises has become the main constraint for large enterprises to “go global” and transfer their production capacity abroad.

Under the combined influence of factors such as the gradual disappearance of domestic demographic dividend, the “rising water and ship” of labor cost and the high land cost, gradually transferring part of production capacity to Southeast Asian countries with relatively low labor cost or close to the origin of raw materials is becoming the “way out” in the minds of many large enterprises. Especially in the context of the unpredictable Sino US trade war, the tariff of up to 25% may make large enterprises with the United States as the main market, especially those export enterprises with meager profits and long-term dependence on export tax rebates, have no choice but to transfer production capacity.

The problem is that the supporting supply chains needed by many large enterprises for sustainable operation are planned to be transferred or lack corresponding production capacity, including appropriate labor resources. Therefore, if large enterprises want to go abroad and transfer production capacity, whether small enterprises in their supply chain can follow up together is also an unavoidable problem.

It can be seen that protecting small enterprises is actually maintaining the foundation of the development of large enterprises. This should be the consensus of any large enterprise; Only when large enterprises and small enterprises coexist with each other can they continue to grow. Of course, the attention of large enterprises to the survival of small enterprises should not stay in the appeal, but should be implemented in action, because large enterprises have more resource advantages. Large enterprises should do a lot to support small enterprises, especially those in their own supply chain. For example, by carrying out supply chain financing cooperation with banks, we can help small enterprises alleviate the financing difficulties. Moreover, large enterprises should also have a responsibility and responsibility to drive the development of small enterprises. A large enterprise can drive the development of a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises and even micro enterprises in logistics, logistics, small parts supply, remote customer service and so on.
