Funding for this financing will help to improve platforms and infrastructure development

The State of Entrepreneurship was informed that the South-East Asia Medical Science and Technology Business, Busymed, had completed a $51.5 million B funding package. This round of financing was led by a major capital (UOBVM), with the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and its existing shareholders, Smilegate Investment, Cocoon Capital. Thousands of capitals (Favour Capital) are sole financial advisers for the current round of finance.

This funding will help to improve platforms and infrastructure development and expand service coverage to expand the business coverage of companies in Viet Nam. In particular, it is important to upgrade the experience of clients who are mainly based on traditional pharmacies.

Buymed was established in 2018 and headquartered in Singapore as a distribution platform for medicines and care products in Viet Nam and South-East Asia. At present, the Buymed team is more than 700.

Buyed created a comprehensive B2B e-commerce platform, linking pharmacological, clinical and hospital to pharmaceutical suppliers, and simplifying the procurement process. The first warehouse was established in the city of Ho Chi Minh, followed by the expansion of the Hanoi Peace Warehouse and the Cambodia Warehouse, with a total warehouse of over 18,000 square metres.

In addition to Viet Nam and Cambodia, it is planned to expand further in South-East Asia and to develop an integrated electronic health ecosystem.

Seah Kian Wee, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Waining, stated that “Bymed will be able to effectively address the dispersion of the market for medicine and care products in Viet Nam, thanks to the infrastructure and strong management team supported by its internal technology. Among the distributors of scientific and technological talent, Busymed is one of the largest distribution networks covering Viet Nam’s pharmacies, clinics and hospitals, owing to the fragmentation of its diverse product types. We are confident that the platform of Buymed will benefit the local population, especially those living in the suburbs and rural areas, so that they can better access medicines and medical services. This is consistent with the ongoing ambition of the bigamy and the strategic objective of Viet Nam, namely, our insistence on meaningful and value-generating investments in the emerging countries of South-East Asia.”

Agnes Dasewicz, Chief Operating Officer of the International Development Finance Corporation of the United States, stated: “The United States International Development Finance Corporation’s investment in Butymed shows that we support innovative solutions led by the private sector to strengthen health systems in Viet Nam. Our investment will support the Buymed help to improve access to medicines in rural drug shops, clinics and hospitals, as well as to improve transparency and compliance in the medical sector in Viet Nam.”

The founding partner of the capital of thumb stated: “It is a great honour for us to assist Busymed to complete this round of financing. Under the leadership of an experienced management team, Busymed has gained a prominent lead in the distribution market for medicine and care products in Viet Nam. We are convinced that the Buymed integration of the development orientation of a decentralized and large market in South-East Asia has created value for end-end health ecology not only for distributors of medicines and care products, but also for end-users.”

On May 9, Chen Jian, a user certified as a writer and screenwriter on Weibo, reflected that his nearly one million word novel updated in a magazine in 2008 was included by HowNet without authorization for users to browse and download. According to Chen Jian, he believes that HowNet should include all articles published by it by signing a cooperation agreement with a magazine, but this move clearly infringes the author’s copyright. “I will sue him for using my work without my authorization, just through an agreement with the magazine.” Chen Jian told reporters that he has notarized the relevant infringement evidence and hired a lawyer. In the next step, he will file a lawsuit against HowNet.

Screenshot of HowNet related content

“Around 2000, the copyright process was not standardized, and we didn’t care about intellectual property rights, but now it’s 2022, and I can’t understand it.” After Chen Jian released his microblog, some novel writers also sent a document saying that after being reminded by netizens, they found that their works were also included without authorization by HowNet.

Chen Jian revealed that the reason why he found this situation was that recently, HowNet was revealed to have infringed the copyright of the authors of many papers and scientific research achievements. “I didn’t expect that I would also be a victim.” Many netizens were surprised by the novels included in HowNet, and some netizens also talked about their experience of infringement. “I didn’t expect so many victims.”

Other authors said they were infringed

For HowNet’s unauthorized collection of his novels, Chen Jian said his main demands are that HowNet can publicly apologize for the relevant infringement, and compensate for the infringement expenses in accordance with the relevant provisions of the law. “I also came from a magazine. I hope that through my example, you can see that the whole business model of HowNet is based on infringement. I hope it can return to its original intention and become a semi public welfare organization, which can really be conducive to the national knowledge-based project, not a vampire.”

On the afternoon of May 10, the reporter called the official customer service telephone of HowNet to inquire about the relevant situation. After recording the interview demand, the staff said that a special person would contact the reporter. As of press time, the reporter had no reply. The reporter learned that the second instance result of the successful case of University retired professor husband and wife suing HowNet for rights protection, which had previously attracted the attention of public opinion, was announced. The Beijing Intellectual Property Court rejected HowNet’s appeal against the excessive amount of compensation, and HowNet still needs to make more than 700000 compensation for the infringement.

Chen Jianfa Bo accuses HowNet of infringement

Lawyer interpretation:

If the author is not authorized, both the magazine and HowNet are involved in infringement

Lawyer Fu Jian of Henan Yulong law firm believes that HowNet has infringed the author’s copyright by including other people’s literary works for paid download without the permission of the copyright owner, and has not paid the corresponding remuneration to the author. Although HowNet has signed a cooperation agreement with the magazine, the copyright of the works published in the magazine has not been transferred. If the author does not specify the license and transfer of rights in the license contract signed with the magazine, the other party shall not exercise it without the consent of the copyright owner.

After the publication of the work, except for the author’s statement that it shall not be reproduced, the HowNet shall pay remuneration to the copyright owner after it is included. Otherwise, the copyright owner can require the HowNet to bear civil liabilities such as stopping the infringement, eliminating the influence, making an apology and compensating for losses according to the provisions of China’s copyright law. If the infringement of HowNet damages the public interest, the competent copyright department may order itself to stop the infringement, give a warning, confiscate the illegal income, and impose a fine according to the circumstances; If a crime is constituted, criminal responsibility will be investigated according to law.

Chen Jian’s chat with reporters

LAN Tianbin, a lawyer from Jiangsu fade Dongheng law firm, said that in the incident, the novel belongs to a “word work” and is protected by the copyright law according to law. The author of the novel enjoys the right of information network dissemination of the work, that is, it is provided to the public by wired or wireless means, so that the public can obtain the right of the work at the time and place they choose. HowNet, without the permission of the copyright owner, disseminates the works to the public through the information network and charges fees. It is suspected of infringing the copyright, including the information network communication right. According to the copyright law, it should bear civil liabilities such as stopping the infringement, eliminating the influence, making an apology and compensating for losses.

Lawyer LAN Tianbin said that according to the copyright law, the copyright owner can license others to exercise relevant rights, or transfer all or part of relevant rights and receive remuneration. In this case, whether the magazine has the right to transfer the published articles to HowNet through the cooperation agreement should be determined differently according to the specific situation. If the author and the magazine have signed a relevant license agreement to allow the magazine to do relevant acts, it is OK. If the author and the magazine do not sign the license agreement, and the magazine transfers the published articles to HowNet through the cooperation agreement without the author’s knowledge or consent, then both the magazine and HowNet are suspected of infringing the author’s copyright.

Lawyer LAN Tianbin said that intellectual property protection has a long way to go. Relevant departments should strengthen the investigation and punishment of platforms that frequently infringe intellectual property rights. Judicial organs can also increase punitive damages as appropriate in intellectual property civil litigation. Relevant platforms should also pay more attention to the compliance of intellectual property rights and promote intellectual property protection through multi-party governance and efforts.

In terms of preference for future cities, the proportion of contemporary college students expected to be employed in first tier cities has increased unabated. The picture shows a job fair held in Wuhan Huazhong University of science and technology on September 25, 2021. People’s visual data map

As early as a decade ago, some white-collar workers began to “escape from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen”, that is, they fled the four first tier cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen due to high living costs and moved to other second and third tier cities.

In the other hemisphere, the drama of escaping from big cities is also on. According to the statistics of the New York Post, the number of people who left New York for other parts of the United States from 2010 to 2017 was nearly 1 million higher than those who went to New York elsewhere. Globally, the trend of “fleeing” big cities in pursuit of a better quality of life is also quietly spreading in big cities such as London and Chicago, and gradually showing a younger trend: the average age of people leaving the city for the countryside is 10 years younger than 10 years ago.

Studies have shown that the change of employment area of college graduates mainly comes from the change of external factors (environment) and internal factors (Psychology).

In terms of external factors, the income gap between cities, the difference in the availability of employment opportunities, psychological costs and short-term monetary income are all the influencing factors affecting the employment area of college graduates. At the same time, the high house price also has an impact on Graduates’ job selection. Although the high house price makes graduates want to go to big cities with higher wages and jobs, when they really face the pressure of house purchase in big cities, most graduates actually quit their jobs in first tier cities and choose to reemploy in small and medium-sized cities. In terms of psychological factors, with the advent of the Internet era, college students have become more flexible in their outlook on job selection, have the courage to try various occupations spawned by the Internet, and focus on the realization of self-worth and the development of self-ability.

However, when the macro environment and micro factors change together, it is still unclear what changes have taken place in the expected employment location of college students in recent years. It is reported that in 2013, 61% of college graduates took the initiative to flee the first tier cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen and go to the second and third tier cities to work and live, but it is also reported that the data result is a “false proposition”. Due to the lack of authoritative data, the whole society inevitably lacks understanding of the expected employment trend of college students, which will affect or delay the formation of relevant government policies.

This study attempts to use the authoritative survey data in 2013, 2015 and 2017 to reveal the trend of College Students’ preference for employment cities in recent years, and explore which college students tend to go to first tier cities for employment.

There is no phenomenon of “escaping” from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen when college students choose the place of employment

Studies have shown that the huge competitive pressure and rising cost of living in the four first tier cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen have forced many college graduates to leave; With the economic development of second tier cities, the employment and living environment of second tier cities have been greatly improved, with less competitive pressure, more development opportunities and increasingly perfect infrastructure. Therefore, the trend of talent flow to other cities is becoming more and more obvious.

However, generally speaking, the public data on the employment of college graduates are mainly market research, focusing on the employment flow of graduates, and paying less attention to the employment City wishes or preferences of college students. Therefore, we still can’t know whether there is a phenomenon or trend of “fleeing” the first tier cities in the future planning of their employment areas.

According to the existing data and reports, on the issue of College Students’ employment expectation, the proposition of “whether to escape from the first tier cities” is controversial, and the more consistent view is that the attraction of the new first tier and second tier cities to college students has increased. The different conclusions may be due to the different sampling frames and survey methods used in the relevant surveys. (the “first tier cities” in this study specifically refer to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen; the division standard of “new first tier” cities has not been unified, and the “new first tier” cities divided every year are still changing, but it does not affect the conclusion of this study. - note by the author)

This study uses the data from the “tracking survey on employment, life and values of contemporary college students” in 2013, 2015 and 2017. The survey, organized by the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences since 2010, is a large-scale national follow-up survey trying to understand the views of contemporary college students on education and employment, love and marriage, consumption patterns and lifestyles.

In 2013, 2015 and 2017, the final retained samples, including typical representative students and fresh graduates of key universities, ordinary universities and higher vocational colleges, were 6176, 8977 and 13011 respectively.

The dependent variable of this study is “whether to choose the first tier cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen as the place of employment after graduation”. The control variables are gender and age, and the core independent variables include household registration status, education level (junior college students, undergraduates and postgraduates), location of colleges and universities, number of brothers and sisters, whether it is the only child, father’s education level, family economic status and whether he wants to study for a higher degree. (see Table 1 for a description of the general characteristics of the sample.)

Table 1. General characteristic description of samples

From the total sample, the proportion of male and female, agricultural and non-agricultural hukou, only child and non only child, college students who decide to study for a higher degree and decide not to study for a higher degree is the same, accounting for about half. Influenced by the one-child policy, the average number of brothers and sisters owned by contemporary college students is less than 1, which is 0.76. More than half of the samples are college students, followed by junior college students, and the least proportion is graduate students. More than 60% of contemporary college students’ self-awareness of family economic status is similar to that of other students, indicating that there is no big gap between the family status of most college students and other students.

Compared with those who want to choose a job in the first tier cities after graduation and those who want to work in other regions after graduation, their gender ratio and age are relatively similar, but the proportion of non-agricultural household registration, the proportion of undergraduates and postgraduates, the proportion of colleges and universities in the first tier cities, the proportion of only children, the education level of fathers, family economic status The proportion of college students who decide to pursue a higher degree is higher or better among those who want to find employment in first tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen after graduation.

In addition, the average number of brothers and sisters is college students who want to choose jobs in first tier cities after graduation
