In fact, it has been 10 months since the implementation of the “double reduction” policy, and the K12 discipline training industry has quietly undergone great changes. On July 9, 2021, headmaster Education announced that Ricky Kwok Yin ng (Wu Guoxian) had resigned as chief financial officer (CFO) and director of headmaster education.

What is more puzzling is that it is only eight months since Wu Guoxian took up the post of CFO of the company. According to “bullet financial view”, Wu Guoxian served as the head education director in May 2020 and CFO of the company since November 2020.

After this high-level change, head education received a regulatory ticket again.

According to the tianyancha information, on July 14, 2021, the leader of Shanghai Zhangyi Network Technology Co., Ltd., a 1-to-1 affiliated company, added an administrative penalty for publishing education and training advertisements in violation of item (3) of Article 24 of the advertising law of the people’s Republic of China (2015). On February 9, 2022, the national enterprise credit information publicity system showed that Shanghai zhangxiaomen Education Technology Co., Ltd., a one-to-one affiliate of the leader, was fined 310000 yuan by Shanghai Baoshan district market supervision and Administration for purchasing consumer contact information through scalpers and promoting the courses of “leader education”.

Behind the many fines received by headmaster education, the anxiety of parents has gradually increased. Coupled with the heavy “double reduction” policy, it has jointly triggered the pessimistic attitude of consumer market and capital market towards headmaster education.

The share price plummeted by more than 90%

In fact, under the “double reduction” policy, many financial indicators of head education have shown signs of deterioration.

Take the revenue as an example. According to the financial report, the head education achieved a revenue of 506 million yuan in the fourth quarter of 2021, down nearly half from 946 million yuan in the same period in 2020, reaching 46.56%.

Another example is the gross profit. The financial report shows that the gross profit of head education in the fourth quarter of 2021 was 205 million yuan, a decrease of more than half from 416 million yuan in the same period in 2020, reaching 50.73%.

Looking at the gross profit margin, according to the financial report, the gross profit margin of head education in the fourth quarter of 2021 was 40.6%, down 3.4 percentage points from 44.0% in the same period in 2020.

In addition, the leader education has also fallen into the embarrassing situation of continuous insolvency. According to the financial report, as of December 31, 2020, the total assets of head education were 5.430 billion yuan, lower than 5.651 billion yuan of total liabilities; As of December 31, 2021, the total assets of head education were 2.527 billion yuan, still lower than the total liabilities of 3.374 billion yuan.
