It’s moving day folks — pack your bags and load up the truck. We’re here to walk current users through the steps to transition your legacy accounts to the new Lamden Vault. If you prefer video, check out the video guide from LamdenGirl. We recommend you set aside some quiet time so you can focus and not be rushed when going through these steps.

Okay then, lets get started:

1 After logging into the new Lamden Vault, click CREATE VAULT.

2 Click VIEW SECRET RECOVERY PHRASE.

3 Copy your secret recovery phrase and store it in a safe location(s). This is a very important step as these 24 words are how you will be able to restore your account in the future (ex. if your computer crashes). Once ready, click NEXT.

4 You’ll be prompted to fill in the blank spaces to ensure that you properly documented/saved your secret phrase. When ready, click NEXT.

5 You’re reminded one last time about the importance of backing up your recovery phrase as this is the ONLY way to restore your Vault in the future. When ready, click I UNDERSTAND.

6 Congrats! You should now have a shiny new Vault account.

The subsequent steps are optional but encouraged. If you choose to keep your Legacy Accounts, then an important reminder that you’ll need to continue backing up via Account Settings -> Backup Wallet to download and save the keystore somewhere safe (along with the keystore password).

If you choose to move your Legacy Account(s) to the Lamden Vault, then a few things to note before we get started:

After reading the above and you’ve decided you still want to proceed, here’s the steps:

7Under the “Legacy Accounts” section, start by expanding your first legacy account. Click the first token under My Tokens (or if you don’t have any tokens, then click Send TAU).

TIP: If your new Lamden Vault and one of your Legacy Accounts have the exact same nickname (ex. My Lamden Account), then consider giving one account a new nickname so it’s easier to delineate between the two. To change the nickname, click into the account -> select Options -> Edit Account Nickname. Save yourself a headache.

8 If you began by clicking a non-TAU token, then the next step is to click TRANSFER. Select the ONE OF MY ACCOUNTS tab. Verify the From Address is accurate and your new Lamden Vault account is selected in the To Address drop-down. Click the Max button and then NEXT. You’ll be prompted to confirm your transaction.

9 You can now either click HOME or NEW TRANSACTION.

10 You can delete legacy accounts after you’ve moved all your tokens to the Lamden Vault. That said, it doesn’t hurt to save a keystore backup (and your keystore password) in case you ever want to recover the account in the future. Better to be safe than sorry!

Hope this tutorial helped. Congrats on making the move! Any additional questions, please join us on Telegram.

Cryptocurrency has taken the world by storm in 2021, with many people becoming multi-millionaires, and in some cases even billionaires, overnight. Financial experts around the world and the wealthy, such as Elon Musk and Warren Buffett, have also shared their contrasting opinions on cryptocurrency. But at the end of the day — What exactly is cryptocurrency and how does it work?

As of now, the most pervasive and commonly discussed type of cryptocurrency is Bitcoin, although there are several other types of currency as well, such as Etheruem, Dogecoin and Litecoin. Because these currencies are not presently as popular as Bitcoin, people often refer to them as Altcoins (i.e. Alternative coins). So, what defines Cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency is a form of virtual currency. It is different from traditional fiat money because you can’t see it and unlike fiat money, which is based on faith in governments and banks. cryptocurrency is not. This is because cryptocurrencies are decentralized networks based on blockchain technology.

To answer this question, we need to understand the concept of a decentralized network. Cryptocurrency transactions run on a decentralized network that is maintained and controlled by a wide network of computers worldwide. Here, there is no bank to act as the middleman. Instead, transactions have to be updated and verified by all computers connected to the cryptocurrency network for them to go through. This contrasts with a centralized network that consists of a medium controlled by a central authority, like governments or banks. In a traditional financial transaction, banks on either side of the transaction record the money flowing out of one account and into another. You might wonder, whose computers are connected to this network and why would they use their computer’s power to maintain this global ledger? In the bitcoin network, these individuals are known as Bitcoin miners. Bitcoin miners are people who compete to be the first to verify Bitcoin transactions by using their computers to solve the complex encryption code. In return, they earn Bitcoin.

The concept of blockchain technology may sound complicated but it can be understood better by, quite simply, imaging a chain of blocks . In this chain, each block contains 2 lines of code, also known as a hash. The first line of code is that block’s unique code. The second line of code is the code of the previous block. Take block number 5 in the chain for example. Block 5 contains its own “Block 5” code and the unique code of “Block 4”. Similarly block 6 contains its own unique code and the unique code of “Block 5”. As the name suggests, all blocks in the blockchain are quite literally chained together. If someone tries to change the code of one block, the whole chain is disrupted. Hence, hackers are detected easily and information in the blockchain is incredibly secure.

What do people use cryptocurrency?

One of the biggest reasons cryptocurrency is so commonly used is that the fees associated with it are very low. The transaction of funds is straightforward and convenient because, unlike traditional payment methods, cryptocurrency transactions require no broker, paperwork, interest rates or exchange rates. Furthermore, cryptocurrency transactions are very cost-efficient as fees are kept to a minimum. Another reason is that this currency is not associated with any world government. This can be credited to the decentralized network cryptocurrency runs on that keeps the currency monopoly-free and unrestrained so that nobody is able to determine its flow. In addition, using cryptocurrency to pay for things online actually provides consumers with more security than traditional payment methods. This is because the blockchain ledger, a decentralized processing and recording system, run based on difficult mathematical problems and encryption that make it hard to decode. This way, information is kept secure and private. Of course, the profit potential is another huge reason that people get into cryptocurrency since it is very volatile. For example, if you choose to buy Bitcoin at a lower price, you could potentially profit when that price rises. This was the case for several investors, who wound out making huge profits because the market has not cooled in recent years. This idea will be explained in greater depth in the next section, ‘The reasons behind cryptocurrency’s hype and volatility.

The reasons behind cryptocurrency’s hype and volatility

Unlike our banking system where fees are charged to verify transactions, the intention behind cryptocurrency was to cut banks out of the process to make transferring funds more cost-efficient, effective and convenient. This idea was especially popular since it was published about a month after the 2008 financial crisis, a period of time where people lost much faith in the financial system. In addition, cryptocurrency is seen as the future of money. This is because the adoption of technological innovations like blockchain makes trading easier, simpler and a more transparent process. Cryptocurrency’s volatility makes the potential for profit very high, attracting many people to invest in them. To give a more specific example, $1 invested in Shiba Inu coin in 2020 would be worth $30 million today. The unpredictability of trading cryptocurrencies, as compared to other currencies is due to it still being very new. This means that no one actually knows what 1 bitcoin, for instance, is truly worth.

Therefore, the main driver of the price of crypto is consumer speculation, also known as the excitement to buy, and marketplace confidence. Confidence in the cryptocurrency system is unstable because it is a new concept that many are still trying to grasp. Thus, when an article compliments cryptocurrency, faith in the system rises and people buy more, causing prices to rise. But should someone like, let’s say, Elon Musk tweets to criticize cryptocurrency, people lose faith in the system and prices drop. Another driver would be that lower liquidity in the cryptocurrency markets compared to foreign exchange. This means that on the forex, you might get trillions of dollars traded every day compared to the billions in the Bitcoin market. Fewer trades cause the market to spike more frequently. In other words, the higher liquidity is, the more stable prices become. In addition, the list of companies that accept cryptocurrency changes every day. Although one day a company might accept crypto as a valid payment form, the next day they might not. This applies to major companies such as Tesla and Paypal which have a vacillating relationship with cryptocurrency, constantly changing policies regarding them. This very lack of consistency causes unpredictable trends in cryptocurrency since its legitimacy as a form of payment constantly fluctuates.

The disadvantages of using cryptocurrency

One disadvantage would be that cryptocurrency is not accepted as a valid form of payment in most places, so many would argue that it is presently more of an investment option rather than an actual currency. Another disadvantage of using cryptocurrency is that it could potentially be harmful to the environment, as advanced technology and computers are needed for its operation and maintenance. As mentioned earlier, cryptocurrency transactions are kept secure because ledgers are updated several times on all computers. This requires a lot of computing power and therefore, electricity. A single transaction, for example, could take up to 1700 kWh worth of electricity: twice the amount of monthly usage in a US home. Furthermore, illegal cryptocurrency transactions can be easily made due to the lack of government regulation as such transactions can be limited, but not banned. Cryptocurrency’s volatility can also be seen as a downside to it, since it is hard to predict when and whether the value of the currency is high or low, making investing difficult.

Is cryptocurrency the currency of the future?

Dear MoonLifters,

We have seen exponential growth in recent times. As a community, we can be proud of this achievement. Nonetheless, there has been widespread concern about the amount of liquidity MLT will have at the start of the project and in the following first months. Because there is an increasing need to address this matter and because we wish to create a relationship of full transparency between the community and the developing team, we are now going to explain further what we have done to guarantee copious amounts of liquidity and why we made these choices.

First of all, we are aware that there are numerous amounts of people waiting excitedly to buy their first MoonLift Tokens. We are growing fast and with that, the need for proper amounts of liquidity becomes critical. With a lot of people buying and selling MLT we must ensure that every individual participating can obtain positive impact from this community-based initiative. For this reason, our tokenomics are going to be put to work from the first second after launch.

A low liquidity must never be an obstacle to buy or even sell your MLT. Last week, we put up a poll and we asked for your opinion precisely to address this situation. 85% of the community was in agreement with this critical need, so we chose to allocate a certain amount of MLT to ensure that liquidity will never be an issue. Right away, we started negotiations to make a deal with a trusted group of long term liquidity providers.

We are proud to announce that we moved forward with speed and that we have come to an agreement with the liquidity providers that will guarantee copious amounts of liquidity at the launch and for the next 4 months after. This is because the LPs have agreed to lock their funds for this vesting period, therefore enabling a successful trading experience of MLT for everyone else.

Since a part of every MLT trade redirects a chunk of the value to the Liquidity Pools, within these initial 4 months our community will be able to collect large amounts of liquidity, meaning that even when the vesting period is over for the initial liquidity providers, we will be able to move forward smoothly without impacts from hypothetical rugging attempts.

As you will undoubtedly understand, everyone wants to make a profit, initial liquidity providers included, so we had to offer this party a profitable deal.

This is the agreement that we have made and how the project will proceed further:

We have allocated 25% of the total MLT supply to said group of liquidity providers. They will be subject to the same vesting period as everyone else. When the first portion of MLT will drop upon launch, this group will lock away the first 25% of MLT into liquidity for the next 4 months to guarantee generous amounts of liquidity. The locked amount of liquidity will be available for everyone to see and inspect first hand.

At the same time this deal gives us the opportunity to add another $1M liquidity from the project funds. This will ensure a successful launch on Pancakeswap and Sushiswap.

There aren’t any whales within this group of liquidity providers since the allocation of MLT is fairly shared between all of them (about 25 people), therefore even further reducing any single party’s ability to influence the liquidity of our community’s project.

On top of this, we feel the need to share that we do not dishonor our seed investors and that the sale price of the MLT destined to liquidity providers has been higher than the original seed sale price of $0.00006!

Lastly, we wish to stress that this deal was not only made with the best interest of our community in mind, but that it was also driven forward in toto by the community’s opinion which was gathered in the recent polls.

We hope that you all understand how critical this added liquidity will prove to be from the start of the project. It will guarantee for everyone at least a 4 month period of peaceful value creation without having to be preoccupied about sufficient liquidity, meaning we will avoid the issues such as impossibility of trading and scarce liquidity.

Ultimately, this deal was made with a win-win mindset and it will promote smooth sailing and longevity for the MoonLift journey by exploiting the functionality of our tokenomics from the very start. Even big sales will not affect the liquidity in a negative way; in fact, it will do the exact opposite by benefiting long-term holders by means of a direct allocation of 50% of the originally collected trading fees.

In case further doubts are present, we want to encourage you to reach out to us and shed light on any remaining skepticism. We have made a commitment to full transparency from the start on and we intend to maintain our promise.

Thank you all for your continuous support,

Cordially,

The MoonLift Core Team

MoonLift Protocol Website: https://moonlift.ioMoonLift Protocol Twitter: https://twitter.com/MoonliftIMoonLift Protocol Telegram: https://t.me/MoonLift

It’s easy to hate on OpenSea — it really is. The list of grievances is a mile long, including everything from glitchy collections to sluggish customer service and that bothersome 404 error we’ve all come to know and loathe. Not to mention the insider trading incident that happened back in September.

In fact, there’s so much OpenSea hate that every time a new marketplace emerges there’s a bunch of hype and speculation around whether it’ll be the platform to capsize OpenSea and release its stronghold. There was a time when everyone thought SushiSwap’s Shoyu marketplace might be our saving grace. It was an honest attempt, and we applaud them for trying, but it really hasn’t been adopted by the NFT-loving masses the way everyone initially hoped.

Enter LooksRare, a marketplace that dropped the $LOOK token early Monday morning and presented itself the same way $SOS, $GAS and (unfortunately) $YEAR did. The claimable airdrop was based off your activity in a specific area. If you had traded 3 ETH or more on OpenSea between Jun. 16 and Dec. 16, 2021, you’d be eligible for $LOOKS tokens. On top of that, 100% of trading fees are earned by token stakers.

Let’s pause and think about that for a second.
