Metamask potential airdrop has been discussed and probably sybilled to death by airdrop hunters, based on the latest Dune Analytics. As of 16 November 2021, there is a total of 825,954 unique accounts and 2.8 million of cumulative Metamask swaps completed with more than USD $11 billion in volume.

However, can we really trust the numbers above? Let’s reconcile them with Etherscan.

There is a total of 177 million unique Ethereum addresses, out of which 0.46% of them have performed a Metamask swap. Seems plausible to me.

Though based on the latest and evolving airdrop trend, Metamask swappers who may miss out of this airdrop may include:

• Users from burgerland and more recently China-territories

• Users who are not active swappers (less than 5 times within the last 6 months)

• Users who have not performed any other activity other than Metamask swaps

So, what can you do to increase the chance of getting the MASK airdrop?

• Please, please and please use a VPN - it doesn’t cost much at all

• Consider swapping via Polygon or Binance Smart Chain, to minimize the gas fees - there is no escape from the exorbitant fee factored into each quote though

• Be a genuine early DeFi user and support the protocol

If I am a JPMorgan executive deciding when to execute the airdrop, I would say never since users swapping via Metamask are paying a whopping 0.875% each swap. I may even do a Paraswap by tweeting and hyping up the WEN airdrop campaign even though the snapshot has already been taken.
