They had various tools for tracking and trading energy sources. One tool stuck out to me as a future retail investor with this company. Environmental commodities trading sounds like Zoomers version of Government bond trading that the boomers loved back in the 80 and 90s. I love the concept.

Better tracking of any energy resource means we can better distribute it to the areas that need it most. By now if you are reading this, I’m sure you have heard the argument Bitcoin / crypto data centers could actually server a real societal need of load balancing energy -→ this is the tech stack to make that a reality..

• Zero-knowledge rollups are similar to optimistic rollups in that they post all transaction data onto the main chain. However, they use zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive arguments of knowledge (zk-SNARKs) to validate transactions. I started editing these 360° videos in premier using Mettle plugin (recently acquired by Adobe). this was my first experience working in the 360 storytelling space.

I ended up making 360°versions AND flat versions of these videos and it seems my audience was more inclined to watch the flat version since the footage was a bit shakey and most people didn’t have VR headsets at the time.

I should pick this project back up now that VR headsets are picking up steam.

Also, I later created other 360 videos for a small canoe company. The video analytics wasn’t great BUT I also uploaded the photos from this trip to google maps and many of these photos have 10K+ views. Seems we are still in the phase where we like these new visual mediums but we don’t have a good way to experience them yet.

Also did a few real estate things but the quality of my Nikon 360 was not good enough.

This was much cheaper than ENS domains. With my .eth domain, I made a few super costly mistakes.. whereas the mistakes on the polygon network only cost me a buck or two.

Anytime I start designing in the metaverse it always takes me 10-20 minutes to re-learn where all the tools are for each platform. they are all pretty similar but it always amazes me the 10 mins of frustration I have to go through to remember “how do I copy polygons again?!?”.

Once I got moving and grooving, I was able to build this below pretty quickly.

Note it’s not built to scale and the ARKIO app is more for layout or city planning design than it is fine 3D rendering. I built the building within one of the neighboorhood demos they offer on their free version of the app.

While the high-end detail isn’t there like it is in say unity, I’m actually still pretty impressed at how quickly I can mock up a 3d visual of our HOA landscaping quote. I could see a future where ARKIO is used as a supplimental 3d visual for landcaping remodels or city planning proposals. I could also see it being useful in the rapid prototyping/brainstorming phase for architecture projects.

Let’s skip past the tokenomics part. not because it’s not important, I promise I will revisit this once I have taken a course and have a deeper perspective on tokenomics.

But I will say this lite paper below is VERY well designed and easy to read. Installs confidence in me as the user right away. First, you have to purchase a show. For me, I think I would like the Trainer shoe because I could see myself using this as a Walker and Jogger and perhaps as a Runner. This seems the most versatile but does cost 20ish% more.

After that, you have to budget your quality. The starting shoe is like $500 so I dont see myself going much above uncommon or rare.

And the attributes. These attributes are chosen at random when mented. From there you can level up your attributes is the move to earn more GST.

I rank these attributes as follows

Teir 1 → Efficency

Tier 2 → Luck and Resilience

Tier 3 → confort?

The better the shoe quality the more you can level up. Which is earned through running / using your stepn nft show (aka jogging around with your phone in your pocket)

Gems and Sockets

Then you start earning Gem socks. From looking in the app it seems Efficiency and Luck were the first attributes that were maxed out. I’m not sure if this was decided by the user or the game but that’s the trend I noticed.

These gems can be placed in 4 different sockets (which have to match the socket type, which also is just assigned to the shoe) to apply the benefits to the shoe. One Socket is unlocked each time the Sneaker reaches level 5, 10, 15, and 20 respectively. Higher Socket quality will give an extra boost to the inserted Gem's Attribute.

Another aspect of luck is your Gem quality can range, and you don’t know this until it is unlocked, you only know what type of gem you are receiving. dive in here.

Shoe Breeding??

Ok, this gets little weird shoes don’t normally reproduce, but on stepN we can. Essentially you put the shoes in a shoebox and they make a baby. You can do 7 Shoe breedings per sneaker. and cost goes up the higher the body count goes.

What kind of baby shoes will the parent (vintage as they call it) shoes produce? Well, this is a lot like the Zedd model.. again it’s a randomized based on the shoe quality.

But there is a second layer. Actually, the above chart is just for the shoebox! from there you open the box and there is a chance your shoe can change jump categories again.

From what I can tell the Epic sneaker has the best chance to level up in the process.

Mannnn there is a lot to consider here.. Also the type of shoe is randomized.

I would not want to end up with a runner type so my best bet would be (I’m committed to copping Trainer type first).. would be walkerxtrainer or joggerxtrainer with a 6% chance it would turn into a runner.. by contracts a trainerxtrainer has a 25% chance

The last thing is socket types are also genetic inherits from shoe parents. For me I want Teir 1 → Efficiency, Luck, and Resilience sockets.

In Conclusion I will buy, if I buy….

• I want to buy two pairs of shoes so I can make baby shoes.

First, download Ganache and Truffle via npm

Getting set up with the right versions of Ganache and Truffle is an entire process in itself but I was able to set this up with VS code after some trial and error on the command line. Note to self, use Homebrew and be ready for the llvm npm library to take a very very long time.

Also, set up everything I needed in VS code.

NOT a developer, but dangerous enough.

Ok so I was able to complete this but I had the same conclusion as I did after completing a React.JS course.. I am NOT a developer at heart. But with that being said I do feel like it was good to go through the motions to see how the file structure works.

I think my goal is to understand the technical blockchain language and be able to follow/hear, but I don’t think I will be the one to explain/speak to the deep technical aspects so I will not try here.

I’m really glad I learned Node.JS back in 2014.

The modular nature of the blockchain was easy to catch on because of it.

• I had some trouble downloading ODH on my older iMac so I had to download ODH on my newer laptop. My Mac doesn’t have m1 computer so couldn’t do Airlink without being plugged in using the USBC but glad to see Q2 now works.

• Was able to connect the Quest2 to the development hub and see debugging tools in the Quest2 as well as on the computer ODH interface. I can see how this could be used to track latency and diagnose crash reports.

Look into / next time

Next time I download ODH I should check out installing via the command line. Also, it looks like oculus development is possible in web browser and progressive web app. for now the desktop client will do.

Previously I only used python in Jupyter for simple data calculations and graphing so I had to update my python version and install a few modules (Pillow) using node.js and homebrew.

This is what I did!

And I layered my old 2D logo over top of the backgrounds.

the Python Script ran and boom created 3 images.

What’s next?

Pretty cool to think I could make my own nft artwork now and then create a smart contract to turn these art NFTs into utility nfts. Sky is the limit!

I’m so glad I learned node.js back in graduate school a decade ago. Back then it was fairly new but I really liked the modular approach so I went for it building a web socket app for a presentation tool.

I’ve been watching this project for a while and decided to jump in a few months back. This ZED racehorse was one of my first NFT purchases. This project is backed by Racecar so we can expect it will be around for a while.

GambleFi NFTs make for a practical use case to me and (I think) has great potential with the general relaxing of gambling rules and regulations. I could see a future where friends meet up and race each other’s horses over a projector at a party for a little bit of fun and entertainment.

I really like all the cyber art on the zed run platform and enjoyed participating in a few races, even though I did not win any of them!! It’s also nice knowing no animals are used or hurt in this form of betting versus IRL.

I did a deep dive into what makes a good horse a good horse for my budget and these were the properties I ended up with.

I like how the blockchain stores the ‘genetic’ heritage data so you can see the races and genetics of your horse’s parents. There has since been an update on the platform to improve the classification of these horses but I believe mine was considered an L2, which is the second-highest class.

Next, I need to buy a female horse and start Breeding to build out my stable of horses. I see one of the new updates involves “Breeding decay” which sets limits to how many times you can Breed a horse.

I am a Web 1.0 Native with 10+ years of work experience in Web 2.0 Startups and enterprise web and marketing teams. A solid hybrid background in UX and front-end prototyping has provided the flexibility I wanted in the last 10 years. I focused heavily on learning the tools in this phase.

I want to lead or own the next 10 years of my career path (as well as hobby projects) in the same way Web3’s creed wants us all to be owners. I want to understand the development toolsets to be able to interact with and deploy developers for my projects.
