MetaGoal Club Mode Rules

The Club Battle of Club Mode for MetaGoal S3 is a Football Club-based competition in which Football Clubs (FCs) compete against each other to earn reputation points and rewards. Each FC can have multiple teams, and each team is made up of player cards contributed by the FC members. There are eight different Tournament cups in the competition, with different tournament cup types, reputation rewards, and team requirements. At the end of the season, the FC with the highest reputation wins. And the rewards allocation within a FC is determined by individual Merit Points that are earned through player use and buying buffs for the FC.

Football Club Teams

1. Each Football Club (FC) can have multiple FC teams, up to a maximum of 8 teams.

2. The players in the FC team are contributed by the members of the FC themselves.

3. Each person can contribute up to 5 players.

4. After contributing, the player can still exist in the member’s lineup.

5. The contributed players enter the FC reserve team.

6. Only the FC head coach and assistant coach can assign the players in the FC team.

7. The FC team can have multiple teams at the same time, but the player can only be used in one team. For example, if Player A is in FC lineup 1, then Player A cannot enter lineup 2.

8. If a member wants to replace a contributed player, the player must not be in the lineup, otherwise, the replacement cannot be made.

9. Only one member with operation permission can edit each lineup. When that member is editing, other members cannot click on the lineup and will receive a popup message.

10. If a member leaves the FC, his players also automatically leave the FC team.

Club Battle

Club battles in this game use a season system, which is currently set to one and a half months (subject to change). These battles use a Tournament mode, with each match providing a reputation reward corresponding to the size of the Tournament. At the end of the season, the FC with the highest reputation wins.

FC Tournament

1. The FC head coach or relevant management personnel can sign up for participation. Different tournament cups provide different reputation values, and the number of participating teams will also vary.

2. The tournament has a registration time. When the registration time expires, the number of teams participating in the competition is determined based on the number of registrations.

3. The registration time for the tournament is 72 hours. After 72 hours, registration ends and the competition begins.

4. The different types of tournament cups offer varying amounts of reputation points as rewards. However, if the number of registered teams fails to meet the guaranteed minimum for the tournament, the maximum reputation point reward cannot be obtained.

For example, if the Champions Cup requires 16 teams to participate as a minimum and awards a total of 4800 reputation points, with an average of 300 points per team, if only 11 teams register, the total reward will be reduced to 3,300 points.

1. Sign-ups are not accepted once the tournament matches have begun.

2. The tournament adopts a single-elimination format, with one game to determine the winner.

3. Each FC can only send one team to participate in each tournament.

4. When multiple tournaments are started simultaneously, the FC can send multiple lineups to participate.

The specific Tournament Cups are as follows:

The tournament competition is divided into two stages: the preliminary round and the knockout round.

If the number of registered teams exceeds the guaranteed minimum, there will be a preliminary round of matches. If the number of teams is less than the guaranteed minimum, there will be no preliminary round but go straight to the knockout stage.

The number of rounds in the preliminary round is determined by the number of registrations and the guaranteed minimum.

Tournament Time

The specific times of the tournament cup are as follows:

• All tournaments start simultaneously, and no further sign-ups are allowed once a tournament has begun. Sign-ups for the next tournament open only after the previous one has concluded.

• When signing up, the FC needs to specify which team to use.

• After signing up, the FC team and lineup will be locked until end of the tournament, during which, the player on this lineup will not be affected by changes to the player’s ability even if the owner quit the FC.

• After the tournament is over, registration for the next tournament begins, and registration will automatically end within 72 hours of that day.

FC Reputation

• The starting reputation value of the FC is 0.

• The FC’s reputation will be automatically reset at the end of the season.

• The FC’s reputation can be earned by participating in FC tournament matches.

• Different cup types provide different total reputation points as rewards, and different rankings determines how many points an individual team can get.

Take a medium size tournament cup as example, where a total of 4,800 reputation points are available for allocation according to the ranking:

In the preliminary round of the cup, winning a match earns an additional 60 reputation points.

Individual Merit Points

Individual merit points consist of two parts: player use and buff purchases.

• If an FC member contributes a player who is selected to participate in a match, the member will earn merit points. Each player earns 30 points per match for its owner.

• Purchasing FC buffs can also increase merit points.

Introduction

**MetaGoal Cup, **a new gameplay, is introduced in Season 2 where every day, there will be a full set of World Cup matches. The elimination system adopted adds more uncertainty to the game.

On top of that, Pump-Ups have recently been added as a new feature to enhance the strategy. Allocating Pump-Ups smartly, in addition to the team’s rating, becomes the key to outperforming your opponents.

Players will receive a total of 10 Pump-Up per day, which can be used for increasing ratings or doubling points. Pump-Up can only be used during Qualifying Stage and Knockout Round matches in the tournament. Any unused Pump-Ups will be reset and cannot be carried to the next day.

Pump-Up for Qualifying Stage

There are three strategies that players can adopt in the Qualifying Stage, with effect throughout the entire Qualifying Stage.

The first strategy is to increase the team’s rating by 50% by consuming 5 Pump-Ups. This strategy is suitable for teams with average abilities, as it is not possible to quickly improve the team’s rating in a short time. Consuming 5 points to increase 50% is not a bad way, although it may result in losing the doubled points of each match. However, staying alive is a hard fact, and there is hope for winning the championship as long as one is not eliminated.

The second strategy is to double the points earned in the Qualifying Stage by consuming 5 Pump-Ups. This strategy is high-risk and high-return. Since you cannot view your opponents in the Qualifying Stage, you may face the risk of elimination if you use this strategy. However, the rewards of each match can be doubled. Once you successfully advance to the Main Tournament, the scores are twice the normal scores of others, so you can use this strategy if you are confident enough in your team’s strength.

The third strategy is not to choose any strategy and keep 10 Pump-Ups for the Knockout Round. Players who choose this strategy must be confident in their team’s abilities. After all, keeping 10 points for the Knockout Round gives you more resources than others, increasing your chances of winning the championship. You can view the matchups and strengths of all teams after the Knockout Round, so you can remain invincible by reasonably allocating your Pump-Ups. Players in the top 10 in strength can choose this strategy, as the temptation to win the championship is so great.

Pump-Up for Knockout Round

In the Knockout Round of the Main Tournament, Pump-Ups are only effective for the next match only. These top 16 players boast incredibly high ratings, and some have even reached maximum levels; EXP and Drills no longer offer any power boosts. When two teams with similar strength face each other, there is a small chance for the underdog to win — but it is not likely. To overcome this imbalance in power, players can strategically deploy their Pump-Ups according to their opponents’ strengths; with the right number of Pump-Ups, even the strongest opponents can be defeated!

At this stage, the Top 16 can gain insight into their next opponents through match information such as their current strength, commonly used formations, whether they have used Pump-Ups in the Qualifying Stage and what strategies they adopted, and how many Pump-Ups they have on hand. This data can then be used to make a decision as to how many Pump-Ups to invest when facing off against the opponent depending on the power difference between both sides.

Unlike the Qualifying Stage where 5 Pump-Ups are required to be invested at once, during Knockout Rounds, it is possible to adjust the number of Pump-Ups invested depending on your opponent’s ratings and strategies they may take with numbers between 1 and 10. It is also important to note that any invested Pump-Ups will only be effective for the coming match. Therefore, making an accurate assessment of your opponents’ strength can help avoid wasted investments while leaving you with a weapon for later matches against stronger opponents should you progress.

Strategy and Tactics

The simple logic used for Pump Up usage is as follows (Sharing from MetaGoal gamers): Qualifying Stage:

1. Rating of 10,000 or Below: Pump-Up must be used, either for increasing rating or doubling points.

2. Rating of 10,000 to 16,000: Choose between doubling points or not using them at all.

3. Rating of more than 16,000: Not recommended to use.

Knockout Round:

Check rating differences and track the history of Pump-Up usage.

1. Invest enough Pump-Ups so that your rating after investment would be higher than your opponents’ uninvested rating.

2. f the following opponent has a much weaker rating than yourself, consider investing fewer Pump-Ups in this round.

3. If the next two opponents have much stronger ratings than yourself, consider investing more Pump-Ups in this round to secure a victory and give up on the next match.

4. It is crucial to estimate your opponent’s remaining Pump-Ups left — in results from Rounds of 16, you can see how many Pump-Ups they have used already; however it is impossible to see their consumption during Qualifying Stage matches.

5. Think from your opponent’s perspective on their strategies — if they are champion candidates, then they will conserve their use of Pump-Ups; betting one more than them may be effective here. If they are just 1st or 2nd Round players then chances are that they would gamble with many Pump-Ups — in this case, it may necessary to invest even more in order to avoid an unexpected loss.

If you choose to double points and win one game after that in Qualifying Stage, you will receive double points (normally 1 point per win, and now it becomes 2 points per win). This user has won 7 games in Qualifying Stage and got eliminated in the 8th game. His total points would normally be 7 win points + 1 initial point = 8 points. Since he chose to use double points and encountered a team weaker than him over 7 games, his total points were 7 x 2 + 1 = 15 points.

**A: **During Knockout Round, Pump-Ups can only increase ratings instead of points, and they are only valid for the next match. So it needs to be monitored closely. And it worthies so for top 16 teams.

BASIC INFORMATION

The MetaGoal Cup is a new game mode introduced in the second season of MetaGoal. All players can participate in a three-phase tournament and earn points by winning matches. Players will face off against each other, and the player with a higher rating has a greater chance of winning and earning more points. The tournament will run on a daily basis, similar to a "World Cup" every day, and rewards will be given out at the end of the season (TBA).

Time: The pre-season will start on January 18th and the official start of Season 2 will begin on February 1st, 2023. How to join: Participation is easy, simply join the game and you will be automatically enrolled in the MetaGoal Cup game mode, which can be accessed through the Event page.

MECHANICS

The MetaGoal Cup consists of Preliminary Stage, Qualification Stage, and Main Tournament Stage. The MetaGoal Cup is designed to have one tournament a day, and the mechanics is like that of the World Cup. It is open to all players and the joining is automatic.

The new feature “Pump-Ups” has been added to increase match result unpredictability.

Preliminary Stage:

Who are eligible: It is open to all players and the joining is automatic.

1. Players with the top 20% ratings will be advanced to the qualifying round bypassing the preliminary round. Top-rating players will receive a notification confirming their eligibility.

2. The preliminary stage will have 2 rounds of matches with opponents facing off. Losers will be eliminated. Players who win both rounds will advance to the qualifying stage, which accounts for 20% of all participating players. Qualifying Stage: Who are eligible: Direct promotion players and Preliminary stage winners, a total of 40% of all players.

3. Players will face off against each other, losers are eliminated and winners proceed to the next match until 32 players are selected.

4. The 32 winners will proceed to the Main Tournament Stage.

5. The players who are given a bye move on directly to the next round of matches.

Main Tournament Stage:

Who are eligible: 32 winners from the qualifying stage. Upon entering the main tournament phase, typical World Cup rules are followed and divided into two stages - group stage and the knockout stage.

Group stage:

1. The 32 players are divided to 8 groups randomly, with 4 in each group.

2. The single round-robin format is used in the group stage, and the top two players in each group will advance to the knockout stage based on their points.

3. If the points are tied, then the goal difference will be looked at, followed by goals scored, and then a random draw if all other possibilities have been exhausted.

Knockout stage:

The knockout round uses a single-knockout format: Top 16 -> Top 8 -> Top 4-> Final.

Pump-Ups:

This new feature allows players to give their rating a boost, making matches even more unpredictable.

Points are earned based on players' achievements in the MetaGoal Cup, which are determined by points from the Preliminary stage, as well as rankings from the main tournament.

2. Each win in the Preliminary Stage earns 1 point and 0 for a bye.

Ranking Based on Points:

1. Players are ranked according to the number of points they have, the more points the higher rank.

2. If players have the same number of points, they will be ranked based on how many times they have won the 1st place, with players that have won more 1st places being ranked higher.

3. In cases where players have the same number of 1st places, their historical performance in the tournament will be taken into consideration. Players that have had better historical performances (such as reaching the round of 16 vs. just making it to the group stage) will be given higher rankings.

The Success of Season 1

As we look back at the highlights of the event, we can't help but be in awe of the intense competition that took place in the final days. The top teams truly pushed themselves to the limit, leaving it all on the field to come out on top. The competition for the top 100 spots was especially intense, with the threshold for entry being constantly broken.

But the event was about more than just the competition. MetaGoal saw an incredible influx of players, with more than 30,000 joining in on the fun and a daily active user count of 20,000. We also saw a strong showing from our ambassador program, with more than 4,000 players joining through it.

The MetaGoal community was also a major highlight of the event. On Discord and Twitter, we saw over thousands of people constantly participating in community events and discussing strategies for reaching 5,500 and competing on the leaderboard. It was truly a collaborative effort, with players working together to achieve their goals. Even though it may have seemed like a single-player game, many achieved higher ratings by working together - pooling resources into NFT staking, sharing experiences, and guidance. Whether they were holders or non-holders, the MetaGoal community united to reach a consensus and form an unbreakable bond through discussions around game strategies and tactics.

The enthusiasm of all participants validated the NFTSTAR economic system, with new gameplay mechanics driving active trading and stabilizing the floor price. We saw 754, more than half of Neymar Jr. NFTs staked earning Mcoin and SuperRare cards and 1,152 Son Heung-Min Fan Passes staked for Mcoin. We also saw a high output of Epic (orange) cards and above, with the highest price at 0.46 ETH and OpenSea's total volume at 20 ETH, NSWAP’s total volume at 8.79 ETH and NFTGO at 3.93 ETH.

In addition to this extraordinary show of effort from within the gaming community itself, there have been several collaborations formed between dozens of projects and communities collaborating with NFTSTAR and MetaGoal, including NSWAP and NFTGO. On January 6th, 2003, NFTSTAR's community manager Kim interviewed Ciro - the owner of MetaGoal KPCT and one of the top-ranked players of MetaGoal. Ciro NFTSTAR 🕶: Hello, my name is Ciro, and I am the owner of MetaGoal KPCT.

Part I --- NFTSTAR Community ---

Interviewer: Nice to meet you, Ciro. You're currently ranked at the top of MetaGoal, which is why I've invited you for this interview. So, how did you first come across NFTSTAR?

Ciro NFTSTAR 🕶: I first heard about NFTSTAR through my favorite soccer player, Son Heung-min. I was exploring various NFT projects and came across one related to him. That's how I discovered NFTSTAR.

Interviewer: That's interesting. As an active member of our community, what are your thoughts on the NFTSTAR community and why do you support it?

Ciro NFTSTAR 🕶: I think the NFTSTAR community is fantastic. The community managers are very responsive and provide fast feedback. Additionally, it's a sports-based project, which makes it even more exciting as we can gather and watch games together. The community also rewards its members with continuous events and raffles, and I even won an ultra-rare jersey with Son Heung-min's signature on it. And also, I won an Otherdeed for Otherside NFT. All in all, there's no reason not to support it.

Interviewer: That's amazing, Ciro! Speaking of which, I heard you're currently in the top ranks of MetaGoal, a game within the NFTSTAR community. What got you into playing it?

Ciro NFTSTAR 🕶: MetaGoal offers a unique blend of gameplay, where players can earn points and rewards through staking, NFT purchases, and more. The game's constant league updates and player-base turnover add an element of excitement and competition. And the ability to purchase and collect unique NFTs adds another level of enjoyment for players. Overall, I believe MetaGoal offers a comprehensive and enjoyable gaming experience that sets it apart from the competition.

The MetaGoal game is really engaging and I enjoy the competition aspect of it. It's always a thrill to see where I stand among the other players. Being able to see the progress and improve my rank is what keeps me playing.

Interviewer: With so many p2e games out there, what do you think sets MetaGoal apart from the rest?

Ciro NFTSTAR 🕶: I have a very positive outlook on it. In my opinion, games thrive on new users, and MetaGoal is no exception. Even though the game can be played for free, I think it offers enough excitement and variety to keep players engaged. With leagues ending every 2-3 days and the top players moving up to higher leagues, the player base is constantly changing, providing fresh challenges and opportunities. I believe that if players approach the game with a steady mindset, they will have a lot of fun.

I think one of the biggest advantages of MetaGoal is its simplicity. It's a sports management game that's easy to play, even for someone like me who isn't a big fan of games. Plus, it's a "neglected game", which means you don't need to constantly check in on it, making it perfect for our busy lives. Another thing I appreciate is the player card Drilling system. It's random, so even the top-ranking players can experience an unexpected turn of events.

Interviewer: I can see that, I don't really like games either but I often play MetaGoal because 5 minutes a day is enough.

Interviewer: That's great. Speaking of which, you're also a top-performing player in MetaGoal, what made you start playing the game?

Ciro NFTSTAR 🕶: I love management games, so when I found out that MetaGoal had a reward system using NFTs, I had to give it a try. In my opinion, NFTs are just a representation of ownership, the real value is in how they're used. That's why I enjoy playing MetaGoal, as it offers a way to make the most out of my NFTs.

Interviewer: I see, you've been playing MetaGoal for quite some time. How long have you been playing it?

Ciro NFTSTAR 🕶: I've been playing it since it was first released, but I can't give you an exact timeline. I just play it as a habit every day.
