Here are the numbers so far,

• 41,666,237 $moxie have now been burned from moxie protocol transaction fees.

• Total ever $moxie supply has been reduced from 10,000,000,000 to 9,958,333,763, thanks to transaction fees burned.

• Fan Tokens TVL currently sits at 1,310,675,100 that's approximately $2.469 Million.

Some weeks ago, several members of the Moxie community requested for the option to adjust the steepness of the bonding curve of their Fan Tokens. This change would affect the volatility of buying and selling Fan Tokens, offering more risk and potentially greater rewards for buyers. In response, @betashop.eth created a poll for the community to vote, and the results clearly favored making the bonding curve steeper. You can check out the poll results here.

This past week, the team rolled out phase 1 of Moxie v2, which gives users the option of customizing the bonding curve while creating their fan tokens. I attached a screenshot of the page below;

However, from conversations with community members, I observed that a handful of folks are not conversant with the concept of Bonding curves. So, I decided to put out a guide for the Moxie community, which will be released later this week.

This past week, Moxie v2 went live. The moxie v2 comes with new functionalities and an optimized UI to bring you one step closer to the future of SocialFi on Base. While Moxie already operates on Base, its features until now have only worked on Farcaster. That has changed. Now, anyone can buy Fan Tokens on moxie.xyz, and in the coming days you’ll be able to launch Fan Tokens for any user or brand on X/Twitter, Github, Basenames, and more! I attached an infographic from Kaloh's deep dive on Moxie below;

In just over four months, Moxie has powered thousands of Fan Tokens, serving as a foundational layer for the onchain social economy within Farcaster. Within these four months, over $7M has been claimed by Farcaster users. Talk about SocialFi that works!

Last week, the Moxie Improvement Proposal 1 (MIP-1) was passed with 96.55% of the community in favor. MIP-1 is the first step in growing Moxie beyond its roots on Farcaster and across all of Base. The proposal is now being implemented, and as of Friday, November 22, anyone can buy, sell, and transfer Fan Tokens without the Moxie pass.

1. Moxie Earn advertisers can now flag responses to their Moxie Earn campaign as spam. (when people post non relevant photos or gifs on top of their promoted cast).

Several community members have asked for the option to change the slope on their moxie Fan Token binding curve to be steeper. That would make it more volatile to buys and sells, offering more risk and potentially more rewards to buyers. As a response to this, @betashop.eth put out a poll last week, and the result was clearly in favor of making the binding curve steeper. You can check it out here.

Moxie is always looking out for the Farcaster community. Over the past week, 4,126 users of WildCard app were allocated a total of 17.2M $moxie in appreciation of WILD points earned in the weeks prior to the Wildcard app winding down. The $moxie allocation was rewarded at the rate of 10 WILD points to1 Moxie.

This past week, the total value locked (TVL) in the Moxie ecosystem crossed 1 Billion Moxie — currently sitting at over 1.1 Billion $moxie, as of the time of writing. For a sense of scale, that's over 10% of the total initial supply, and 70% of all possible circulating supply.

Absolutely phenomenal! Hats off to all Moxie maxis out there that made this possible! 🫡

Fun Fact: TVL in Moxie up 34% since Nov 1

Moxie Earn is off to a great start, and the numbers are a testament to this. Here’s a breakdown of week 1 metrics;

• 98 advertising campaigns

• Over $15k USD worth of $moxie was spent on promotions

• 11,363 Quote casts

• 110,000 total engagements

• Average cost per engagement is $0.12 USD

Furthermore, based on feedbacks from early users of Moxie Earn, the team shipped some major updates to Moxie Earn last week. Here are some of the changes;

1. Moxie Earn campaigns now have dynamic pricing based on the boost. Lower boosts require less budget, while higher boosts require more budget. In essence, the initial minimum of 50,000 $moxie no longer applies, instead, the pricing is now based on boost.

2. Another major update is that Moxie Hero boosts do not apply to Moxie Earn promotions.

Voting is live for the Moxie Gamesathon Finalists! The Moxie team announced the finalists of Moxie Gamesathon last week. Six games from the Moxie community have been selected to share an allocation of 17 million $moxie grant.

In a bid to grow Moxie to 1 million users and beyond, the Moxie Protocol Core team is positioning Moxie to be the SocialFi protocol across the entire Base Blockchain.

To make that possible, the core team has proposed 2 improvements be made to the protocol;

1. Enable the Moxie Protocol to be used without a Moxie Pass NFT. This will enable anyone anywhere to buy, sell or create Fan Tokens on the Base Blockchain.

2. Enable wallet to wallet transfers of Fan Tokens so that Fan Tokens can be more easily utilized in standard wallets and DeFi protocols.

This past week, $moxie recorded its highest daily DEX volume day ever. Of course, this correlates with the launch of Moxie Earn, which requires advertisers to either purchase $moxie from the market, or use from accumulated rewards.

A lot of questions have been asked about the selection process for Moxie Heroes. The team made it clear that there are no automatic nominations from each week's heroes to the next week.

Out of the 50 heroes for the week, 10 would be chosen based on thoughtful nominations by the community. The remaining 40 would be selected by a data analysis of contributions to the Moxie ecosystem over the past 14 days, factoring in such things as locked fan tokens, diversity of engagement, engagement rates, and more.

A week ago, the Moxie team launched Moxie Earn, and there’s a lot of good coming out of it already!

In case you are yet to fully grasp how Moxie Earn works, I wrote a detailed article on everything you need to get started. Today's piece offers a rundown of all the reflections, observations, and lessons from the first week of Moxie Earn. That said, let's dive in!

The Moxie Earn effect is in full swing — promoted casts have gone viral, channels have had increased memberships, new users have gained more new followers, all in one week. And this is just the beginning!

Week 1 of Moxie Earn was a rollercoaster. Here’s a brief breakdown of the numbers;

• 98 advertising campaigns

• Over $15k USD worth of $moxie was spent on promotions

• 11,363 Quote casts

• 110,000 total engagements

• Average cost per engagement is $0.12 USD

Now let’s go over some of the biggest talking points and observations for the week.

One of the constant criticisms hauled at the Moxie team has been about the downward price action of the $moxie token. According to critics, this is largely attributed to two things;

1. The constant sell pressure from Moxie daily rewards.

2. A lack of demand for $moxie.

However, within the first week of Moxie Earn, we have seen a bit of reversal in this trend.

Let me do a bit of tokenomics explanation here;

To launch a Moxie Earn Ad campaign, a minimum payment of 50k $moxie is required. This $moxie payment needs to come from “either a market buy, or from earned $moxie that is already in circulation”. This is eventually distributed as rewards to through the “Moxie Earn” cast to eligible earners. Additionally, every Moxie Earn ad campaign incurs a 5% transaction fee, which is permanently burned, reducing the total token supply.

How does this impact $moxie’s tokenomics?

1. Reduction in supply:

   The 5% transaction fee permanently removes a portion of $moxie from circulation for every Moxie Earn ad campaign, leading to a deflationary effect on the token's supply.

2. Increased demand:

   The ad budget, which is a minimum requirement of 50,000 $moxie, potentially boosts demand for the token. This past week, we saw the highest daily DEX volume day in $moxie’s history.

   

On the supply side, Moxie Earn introduces a slightly deflationary mechanism, reducing the total $moxie supply as adoption increases. Simultaneously, it drives demand, creating a balance of healthy SocialFi tokenomics and increasing scarcity.

A growth in the adoption of Moxie Earn is likely to have a positive long-term impact on $moxie’s price action. The early results we’ve seen this past week offer a promising glimpse of what’s to come.

As with any incentive mechanism, there will always be bad actors trying to game the system. One notable example was individuals posting entirely unrelated content in Quote Casts in an attempt to promote their own content, at the expense of the advertiser.

This zero-sum behavior defeats the entire purpose of the Ad campaigns. Thankfully, the active Moxie community promptly alerted the team to this issue. To address it, the team has issued a warning: users engaging in such practices risk being banned from participating in Moxie Earn opportunities.

As always, the Moxie team is cooking. The team has paid attention to feedbacks from early users of Moxie Earn, and are iterating as quickly as possible. Here are a few things should expect in the coming days;

• More campaign Analytics — The team is currently working on a campaign analytics dashboard that would help to measure the impact of each campaign. For instance, if you run a Quote cast campaign, you’ll be able to see the number of quote casts, recasts, likes, replies etc., that has been generated from that campaign. This would help advertisers measure how well the campaign is doing, and also make informed decisions.

  

• Spam controls and block lists — In a bid to curb zero-sum behaviors from bad actors who are out to game the Moxie Earn system, the team is working on introducing spam control measures, such as block lists.

• New Campaigns Types — At the moment, the only campaign type that is available is the Quote cast campaign. However, the team is working on expanding this, by shipping other campaign types such as likes, recasts, onchain action campaigns, among others. The team is also working on introducing X/Twitter campaigns.

• Payment with your favorite tokens — This is another exciting feature in the works. The team is working on an instant “swap and pay” update that allows payment for Moxie Earn Ad in other tokens. Of course, the tokens are swapped into $moxie under the hood (so this doesn’t affect the demand)

  Very soon, everyone would be able to pay for Moxie Earn ad campaigns in their favorite tokens, be it $Degen, $Higher, or even $USDC.

A lot happened in the Moxie-verse this week, I'll do my best to cover as much as I can in today's piece. Here’s a run down of what to expect;

The Moxie team launched Moxie Earn this past week. Moxie Earn is the first headless ad marketplace, entirely built on Farcaster Legos.

Simply put, Moxie Earn allows everyone to get high-quality engagement and reach for their casts beyond their regular audience on Farcaster.

The community welcomed the launch with so much enthusiasm and positive energy, with thousands of people trying it out within 24 hours of launch.

The results for the long awaited Moxie DAO Retro1 grant votes was released during the week. In all, 902 DAO voters participated in voting to split 250 million Moxie tokens among the 29 grant finalists.

The moxie team released a breakdown list of the 29 finalists and their grants. You can find the breakdown in attached the image below.

While disbursement took place on Friday 8 November, the grants received would be subject to a vesting period of 90 days, with 1/90 daily unlock. Furthermore, grant recipients can use their tokens to purchase Fan Tokens while vesting via Moxiescout (Shout out to @zeni.eth)

Hearty congratulations to all grant recipients, you all deserve it!🎊

Fan Tokens are here to stay. Since launch, Fan Tokens have grown at an incredible pace (over 25% growth in the last 30 days). At the time of writing, a total of almost 13 million Fan Tokens are held by over seven thousand users.

This week, we also saw the first AI agent to launch its Fan Token — @maxinemoxie. Right in the heat of the Farcaster AI agents resurgence, we now have an AI agent auction its Fan Token. An interesting interplay of the $MOXIE + AI agent economy.
