Launched in October 2016 (originally as AntShares MainNet), Neo Legacy has been running and serving the Neo ecosystem for over 8 years. In June 2021, the ecosystem evolved with the launch of Neo N3 — the next-generation blockchain designed to replace Neo Legacy.

We originally promised to maintain Neo Legacy for at least one year and have extended support well beyond that. Now, as part of our commitment to advancing Neo’s technology and focusing our efforts on the future, we have made the decision to shut down the Neo Legacy Network.

As we enter a new era, we invite you to move forward with us. We kindly ask that you review and act on the following important steps.

Neo Legacy MainNet Shutdown: October 31st, 2025

🧹 What Will Be Erased

After the shutdown, block production on Neo Legacy will come to a permanent halt. Users will no longer be able to transfer assets, migrate tokens to other networks, or deploy and develop smart contracts on the network. All core functionalities will cease.

⚠️ Required Actions (Important!)

All assets and smart contracts remaining on Neo Legacy, must be migrated to Neo N3 before the official shutdown. Otherwise, they will be permanently lost.

To migrate NEO, GAS and other NEP5 tokens, please use the official migration contract.

How to Use the Migration Contract to Migrate to Neo N3

The migration contract is specifically designed to facilitate the transfer of tokens from Neo Legacy to Neo N3, eliminating the need to connect to any external platforms for your safety. The migration process is simple and functions similarly to any standard transaction in which you send tokens from your wallet. It can be performed from any wallet that supports Neo.

Log in to the wallet holding your Neo Legacy tokens, and send your tokens to the migration smart contract address. Be sure to send GAS last, as a small amount is needed in your wallet to cover the transaction fees.

For the amount, make sure to send your entire NEO balance. If not, the migration process will not begin, as the contract requires the full NEO balance to be received before it initiates the migration.

Once the transaction is confirmed and broadcast to the blockchain, the migration will automatically begin. Your wallet will then be credited with new Neo N3 tokens, which are fully transferable and tradeable on exchanges that support Neo N3.

Depending on network activity, it may take several hours for the migration to complete and for the NEO N3 tokens to appear in your wallet. Your wallet will automatically detect the new Neo N3 MainNet tokens, and they will be credited to the same wallet you used for the migration. Your seed phrase (recovery phrase) remains unchanged.

Please note: the public address of your Neo N3 MainNet wallet will be different from your Neo Legacy address, as Neo N3 uses a different hashing algorithm. However, the migration contract will correctly identify where to send your tokens, as Neo N3 is simply an upgraded version of the blockchain. Your newly migrated tokens will always be linked to the same private key and seed phrase.

Now that the migration is complete, you hold fully upgraded Neo N3 tokens in your wallet. All major exchanges now support the Neo N3 MainNet.
