Starting this off in the correct format, a small backstory on myself.  

My name is Andrew Joseph Gillespie, I am a futurist with economic and analytical tendencies. I grew up in rural Ireland and currently am a postgrad of Economics at Queen’s University Belfast. Composing this blog has been on my agenda for some time, with today being my preferred date to start. I intend to cover a range of contemporary and future economic and social issues that I am interested in with monthly entries.  

The topics which I am to cover over the next twelve months some with multiple entries are as follows:  

The Macro Economy – Our current models and their weaknesses in our evolving society.  

Human Capital Theory – An answer to the social mobility and human differences puzzle?  

The Future of Economic Tech – Where technology and our expectations of it are leading our economy. 

Futurism - A forecast of the rapidly approaching futurist economy and Dynamism.  

Reimagining Energy Economics – An age-old problem of Human development, with exciting prospects.  

Currently our kind is undergoing a change akin to the major events in our evolutionary history, perhaps unmatched in the potential to reshape human society permanently. As the post gold standard world order comes to an end, we see the rise of a technologically primed, multi-polar powder keg, ready to push the current of human development forwards.  

In my short lifetime alone, I have come to see multiple so-called “once” in a lifetime economic events. I have seen the prospects of hundreds of millions if not billions of people dampened through the poor mismanagement of a system that has long since passed its usefulness.  

However, it is not all gloom, humanity is on the precipice of a new golden age, the technological innovations that will allow us to ascend to the next chapter of the story of civilisation are upon us, the question I want to ask primarily is if we can utilize this dynamism, this blessing of a tool we call the brain to produce a better tomorrow.  

It is why I have chosen today, my 22nd birthday, to compose this blog, to spark the flame of intrigue in my own mind and yours. Therefore, futurism is the avenue from which our species can obtain a more optimal outcome. This is the only way forward less we regress to an age of neo-feudalism.
