A civilization’s mentality is developed through subtle interactions of ideas developed and honed over centuries. The process of addition, manipulation, and subtraction of ideas from a civilization’s ontology is a fundamental part of the evolution of humanity. But, we live in a time where our process of the evolution is seeing manual intervention by people who seek to control our development.

Western mentality is the result of a competing tapestry of ideologies whose interplay is subtle and hard to understand. In Oswald Spengler’s “The Decline of the West”, it is demonstrated that civilizations are biological forms. Everything, down the the civilization’s system of numbers, is a result of an underlying mental conceptualization of the world. He shows that our world is real, but our logic and ability to effect our will into material being is a derivative of our underlying mental strata.

It is no accident then, that a civilization torn asunder by the trauma of two world wars and the threat of nuclear annihilation is exhibiting the common traits of a person who has experienced extreme trauma. Postmodernism, the destructive impulse for control, masochism, disorder and widespread anxiety are symptomatic of the unraveling of the Western Mind due to external pressure.

It is certain that one of these impulses is the most harmful. Specifically, the impulse to control language is one of the most destructive forces present in our civilization today. As scientists of natural language processing understand, the meaning of words is multi-dimensional and vectoral. This means words lay in relationship to other words across multiple planes. In modern models of natural language, a single word can have more than 1,000 vector magnitudes attached to it. This is important, because elements in our society seek to control the language that we use. But, their instruments are blunt. Their efforts a clunky. And it is obvious when we hear politically correct terms, or corporate jargon, that they understand not what they do. Capabilities, Latinx, Synergize, Tokenize…

It is my belief, that these efforts are leading to an increasingly discordant society. We are lobotomizing our minds with cruel tools and becoming less effective as a result. When a society becomes discordant… When people are increasingly anxious… It is because their mental models are failing to achieve alignment with the world we live in. A predictive mental model is not nervous, because it can see what is coming.

Therefore, I would like to put my theory to the test. If we are to prove that the mental model honed over centuries is more potent then the one being foisted upon us, then we must demonstrate its effectiveness. It is time for us let go of our fears and demonstrate how the harmonies learned by the Western mind over centuries are superior to the effects of the efforts to control us. We need to execute a series of long range, strategic development efforts, akin to the Apollo Program.

If we are successful, we will demonstrate that our underlying strata is superior, and thus, worthy of being upheld.

Of course, hand records kept by unschooled merchants will have errors. Therefore, the adoption of Arabic numbers for bookkeeping gradually evolved into the creation of a new accounting system called double entry accounting.  The system of double entry accounting uses a trail of credits and debits that can be reconciled by an accountant on a central ledger. Given its origins, double entry accounting was originally called “bookkeeping alla Veneziana” or “in the Venetian style”.

When a single person has control over the ledger it can be manipulated. And there has been no shortage of cooking books – Enron and FTX stand out as blatant recent examples. Blockchain technology is designed to prevent people from manipulating the ledger through cryptography. Distributed ledger technology uses cryptography to ensure all market participants have a transparent, accurate, and current, copy of the ledger. The technology behind this is a mathematical subject called cryptographic proofs. There are many different blockchains. However, the preeminent public chain, with the smartest founder, is called Ethereum and it could be the future of global trade.

The Ethereum blockchain has a currency which is a form of “database money”. One way to look at this currency is that it is an alternative form of money. After all, our closest historical analogy is government issued currency. This logical framework has driven amount of consternation among the establishment who are concerned about a competitive alternative.

Another way to look at the currency is as a free market mechanism for allocating who gets to write to the ledger. Take a look at the following picture:

The picture depicts three people who want to write to a single piece of paper. All three people have important things to write. So, the three people come up with a system. They determine that each sentence you write to the paper costs one token. This guarantees a fair system for deciding whom can write to the ledger.

Now, everyone in the room starts writing to the paper. One of the gentlemen in the room noticed that the another gentleman documented his purchase of a new painting. The first gentleman decides he also likes the painting, and using his turn, writes “I would like to make an offer of 50 tokens for your painting.” Instantaneously, with the simple fact that we can see the painting on the ledger, a secondary market is created for the painting.

Now take a deep breath and imagine that this room is everyone in the world who joins the network.

With the advent of distributed ledger technology, we can let everyone in the world know when we have something to sell by writing the item to the ledger. To do this, we use a specific type of Ethereum contract called a 721 contract. When you write your item to the ledger and do not have to worry about it being manipulated without your consent because everyone has a copy of the ledger.

There are important technical details of contract implementation. These specifics give us dynamic abilities to specify the terms of what we write. But, the core value proposition of a distributed ledger is that we can move ownership rights across a group in a trusted way. The public ledger with the best structure and governance is Ethereum. Hence, its potential to be the world’s most important trading network.

Unfortunately for the woke revolutionaries, their efforts to turn over our system were not wholly completed. Over that past few years, We’ve regrouped and, I suspect, they will regret their decision.

First, Marco Polo represents the fundamental spirit of flow (an opposite pole to hysteria), adventure (an opposite pole to safety), and trading (an opposite pole to self absorption).

The Venetian Republic was one of the most powerful civilizations in the world from AD 700 to 1700. Its prosperity was based on invention, trade, and faith. And, over the course of centuries, it was a conservative civilization that propelled humanity forward, engaged actively with many cultures, and built things of immense beauty.

These traits were selected to obtain a competitive advantage over our adversaries who prioritize equal outcomes and kindness over other types of virtue. In order to explain our perspective, we will dive into complexity theory, the origins of science, neuroscience, human performance, the origins of religion, and advanced technologies.
