Conversely, if the zUSD price falls below 1 USD, users can purchase zUSD at a discounted rate and redeem it within the Lybra Protocol for 1 USD worth of ETH/Rebase LST, increasing demand and pushing the price back up.</p><p>• Flash Loans</p><p>• The Lybra Finance Protocol has implemented an additional step to boost fund safety during the zUSD liquidation process. Whenever zUSD is converted to peUSD, the zUSD is locked in the mainnet contract. The Zeno Protocol&apos;s zUSD stablecoin is no exception, and its stability is safeguarded by a robust liquidation mechanism.</p><p>• Borrowers (minters) who fail to maintain a collateral rate of at least 150% of the minimum collateral rate must be liquidated. This process ensures that the zUSD stablecoin remains fully backed by collateral assets. During liquidation, the borrower&apos;s debt is reduced, and the liquidators receive the collateral asset in exchange for paying off the debt. After liquidation, the borrower&apos;s reduced debt is paid off, and the value of the remaining collateral equals 110% of the reduced debt.</p><p>• To maintain the stability of the zUSD stablecoin, it is highly recommended that borrowers (minters) maintain a healthy collateral rate above 150%, and preferably above 200%.</p><p><strong>The Role of Liquidators</strong></p><p>• Liquidators play a crucial role in preserving the system&apos;s viability. By becoming a liquidator (which can currently only be run by third-party bots), users can use their eUSD to settle any borrowers&apos; (minters&apos;) debts at any time, maintaining the stability of zUSD and the total supply of zUSD. Liquidators are rewarded when liquidation proceeds.</p><p>• During the liquidation process, up to 50% of the borrower&apos;s collateral is burned from the liquidator&apos;s balance to settle the debt. In return, the liquidator receives the collateral asset worth 109% of the value of the repaid zUSD, and at least 0.5% of the collateral asset goes to the Keeper.</p><p><strong>Benefits for Liquidators</strong></p><p>• Users familiar with deploying third-party liquidation bots can perform a liquidation on borrowers (minters), earning a 10% liquidation reward. Alternatively, users can enable the liquidator feature, grant a third-party Keeper access to their funds, and allow the Keeper to carry out the liquidation process in exchange for a portion of the 10% liquidation reward (9% to the liquidator and 1% to the Keeper).</p><p><strong>Becoming a Liquidator</strong></p><p>• Currently, only users deploying third-party liquidation bots can become liquidators.
