Launching on Base Mainnet

We're excited to announce that PACKD is available now Base Mainnet. This means anyone can start creating, sharing, and receiving packs with real digital assets.

Why Links?

In the web2 world, sharing is as simple as copying and pasting a link, whether it's for articles, memes, or videos. This simplicity hasn't been mirrored in web3, where sharing often requires exchanging cumbersome wallet addresses. PACKD changes this by enabling the sharing of NFTs, tokens, and more through a simple, intuitive link. Inspired by innovations like POAPs and Coinbase Wallet USDC link-sharing, PACKD extends this ease of use to a wider array of digital assets, making web3 sharing as straightforward as sending a URL.

What Can PACKD Be Used For?

PACKD is as a tool that transforms the sharing of digital assets. No longer do you need to ask for an address first - just share!

We foresee packs being used for:

• Sending onchain gifts

• Onchain merch drops

• Onboarding packs for ecosystems

• NFT drops via email for newsletter readers

• Loot boxes for games

• And more

We are eager to see the innovative ways our users will utilize this tool.

How Does PACKD Work?

At the heart of PACKD is the ERC-721 standard used to create the packs as NFTs. We've extended this functionality with the ERC-6551 standard with the Tokenbound packages, enabling these NFTs to own their accounts.

This unique feature allows each pack to function as a mini-wallet, holding various digital assets and even covering its gas fees. The contracts are modular by design, currently supporting ERC721 and ERC20 assets, with the potential for future extension to support more complex use cases and logic with additional modules.

Claiming is as simple as opening the link. The claim link contains all the information needed to unpack the pack. So, when sharing it, ensure it's only shared with the intended recipient. Claim with a completely new wallet, as unpacking doesn't require any gas from the claiming wallet. This allows you to choose which address to claim with and maintain privacy by creating a new wallet altogether.

Currently, you can pack up:

• Native gas token, e.g. ETH

• One or Multiple ERC20s, such as DAI

• One or Multiple NFTs

• Combination of NFTs, ERC20s and ETH

How It Started

PACKD's journey began as a standout project at the ETHGlobal Online 2023 hackathon, evolving into a comprehensive platform for easy and innovative digital asset sharing.
