Earning StarScore from Gameplay

Every StarHeroes match you play contributes to your StarScore. The final score is influenced by three factors:

1. Hero Level

2. Hangar Level

3. Performance

Hero Level

The higher your hero's level, the more StarScore bonus you receive from gameplay. No hero means 0% bonus. A level 1 hero will give you a 20% bonus. Each additional level is an additional bonus. A hero at level 8 will already give you a 71% bonus. This is not a permanent bonus. As part of the balancing of the game, it can be changed (it already happened once)

Higher-level heroes can be purchased or upgraded in the Duty App.

Hangar Level

Hangar level includes ship upgrades and purchased skins for ships. Upgrading your hangar is crucial for increasing your StarScore. According to official information, a hangar level of 10,000 grants 100x more StarScore, meaning that a level of 100 provides 100% more StarScore.

• Hangar Tree

Purchasing new ships adds to your hangar levels. The higher the tier of the ship, the more levels you gain. For example, buying a Tier 1 ship adds 12 levels, while a Tier 3 ship adds 24 levels. The same applies to Combat upgrades: upgrading a Tier 1 ship adds 7 levels, and a Tier 3 ship adds 12 levels. Note that the cost of purchasing and upgrading ships increases with their tier.

• Skins

Purchasing skins also increases hangar levels. The rarity (price) and number of skins owned for a ship affect the levels added. The cheapest skin (rare) costs 500 G-Bucks. The first skin for each ship adds 10 levels, the second adds 5 levels, and the third and subsequent skins add 3 levels each. Therefore, it is most economical to buy one skin for each ship before purchasing additional skins.

Legendary skins provide more hangar levels, but this information is anecdotal and unverified.

To maximize hangar upgrades, initially focus on buying new ships and upgrading the one you play with. Then, purchase one skin for each ship. Once every ship has a skin, continue upgrading in Combat and buy additional skins.

Performance

Performance in the game is affected by kills, assists, low damage taken, collecting stardust, and shooting anomalies. It reflects your overall gameplay. Focusing on a single aspect won’t yield high performance; you need to engage in all mentioned game elements.

Currencies

Ships and their upgrades can be purchased with two currencies: Merit and Credits. Both are earned in the game. Credits are earned less frequently than Merit but can be bought with G-Bucks (off-chain currency purchasable with stablecoins).

Skins can be bought with Credits or G-Bucks.

Boosts and Fuel

Once you have a high hangar and hero level, consider buying Boosts and Fuel.

• Boosts: Provide a 1.5x multiplier to StarScore and can be purchased for 2, 5, or 10 days.

• Fuel: Allows more daily games to count towards StarScore. Normally, 3 games per day count. Fuel packs are available in sets of 5, 7, or 10, with each unit representing an additional game that counts towards the leaderboard.

You don’t need to purchase Fuel before playing. You can do so after playing on a given day.

Top Tips for Playing the Game

1. Get to Know the Gameplay: Test different weapons and ships. Initial navigation can be challenging, so practice and don’t be discouraged by early losses. Training with bots is recommended.

2. Play as a Team: Try to find a team on the StarHeroes Discord.

3. Prioritize Hangar Upgrades: You can't achieve this by only spending G-Bucks; you need to play a lot. Once you have a high hangar level, buying Boosts and Fuel makes more sense.

Duty App

The Duty App is a web application that operates outside the main game. Its primary purpose is to allow players to send NFT heroes on missions, gain experience (EXP), and level up their heroes. For completed missions, we receive a StarScore.

Using the Duty App

To use the Duty App, you need two main elements: NFT heroes and $STAR tokens.

1. NFT Heroes - These can be purchased on platforms such as OpenSea for $ETH or JungleArt for $STAR.

2. $STAR Tokens - These can be acquired on exchanges like Bybit, Gate.io, MEXC, Uniswap, and SpartaDex.

It's important to note that once $STAR tokens are deposited into the Duty App, they cannot be withdrawn, so it's best to deposit them in batches.

Types of Missions

The Duty App offers three types of missions, each varying in duration, cost, and experience gained.

You can shorten the mission time by half by paying double the $STAR cost.

StarScore

Each completed mission grants StarScore. The amount depends on the hero's level and the StarForce boost obtained through staking $STAR. The maximum boost in the Duty App can be achieved with 650,000 StarForce.

Recently, the amount of StarScore awarded for sending a hero on a mission was increased. While precise data is not available, the following table provides approximate values for heroes at various levels with a 0% StarForce boost.

Higher-level heroes yield a greater increase in StarScore. When considering purchasing a hero, pay attention to their level. Heroes up to level 5 can be found around the floor price on OpenSea, and you can filter NFTs by hero level.

StarForce

A minimum boost of 1% is obtained with 6,500 StarForce. This boost does not necessarily mean a 1% increase in StarScore; from collected data, it appears that the actual boost is greater than it seems. In several cases, the calculation came out that a 1% boost = more than 4% additional StarScore.

StarForce is earned by staking $STAR, which can be done here.

For example, staking 1 $STAR in the Nebula Pool earns you 1 StarForce per week, while in the Supernova Pool, it earns you 6 StarForce per week. You can withdraw $STAR faster from the unbonding period, but this incurs a fee ranging from 6% to 72% of the deposit.

Mission and Hero Upgrade Costs

Every mission you send your hero on incurs a $STAR token fee. Additionally, when you accumulate enough experience, you can upgrade your hero to the next level, which also comes with a cost. The cost of upgrading a hero increases with each level, but the cost of sending them on missions remains constant. Below are the costs for upgrading a hero to subsequent levels (example described below).

The daily cost for one hero in this scenario is 1.6 $STAR. For 10 heroes, it amounts to 16 $STAR. With the current limit of 400 missions counted daily towards the leaderboard, you need 134 heroes to fully utilize the mission quota. Daily mission costs will be 214.4 $STAR, totaling 1500.8 $STAR weekly.

Key Tips for Using Duty App

1. Staking $STAR: Even a small amount of $STAR staked provides a StarScore boost.

2. High-Level Heroes: Aim to buy heroes at the highest level possible. Your $STAR investment will yield a greater return in StarScore.

3. Consistency: Regularly send heroes on missions. If possible, use time-accelerated missions to maximize daily StarScore gains.

A Note on $STAR

There was a negative sentiment following the announcement of the prize pool for Season 1 (12,500,000 $STAR). This is reflected in the token's price, which has significantly dropped since the announcement. Let's look at some facts to clarify the situation.

Beta Season Airdrop

After the beta season ended, a substantial airdrop was distributed to players and $GSWIFT stakers. A portion of this airdrop remains locked. Recently, another part of this airdrop was unlocked which finally eased the tension.

Season 1 Airdrop

As mentioned, the airdrop for Season 1 will be 12,500,000 $STAR. Additionally, there will be a reward pool for participants in the SocialFi campaign. It is likely that 50% of the airdrop will be available for immediate claiming, and the rest will have a short vesting period, but this is still being consulted with the community.

The team has announced that this will be the last airdrop, with other rewards planned for future game seasons.

Deflationary Mechanism of $STAR

$STAR is utilized in the Duty App to send heroes on missions and upgrade them to higher levels. Over a 1.6 million $STAR (more than 3% of the circulating supply) has already been deposited in the app and will be burned. By the end of the season, this could exceed 2.5 million $STAR based on current trends.

Profits from in-game purchases made with G-Bucks are being used to buy back $STAR from the market and burn it at the end of the season. In the middle of the season, it was announced that the buyback of $STAR would begin for $200,000 (the amount will be increased).

To date, $STAR has been buyback from the market for $30,000, which ultimately stopped further declines in the token's price. In this context, a lower $STAR price at the time of the buyback benefits the project, as it allows for more $STAR to be burned.

PlayToBurn Mechanism

A new mechanism, PlayToBurn, has been announced to reduce the total supply of $STAR. Up to 40% of the total $STAR supply (from the locked DAO Warchest and Decentralized UA pools) will be burned over three game seasons.
