I got to know blockchain technology at the beginning of 2016. That was also the time I bought my first cryptocurrencies. I watched tons of YouTube videos, read a lot of articles to learn about how blockchain and different consensus algorithms actually work, I read tons of whitepapers to explore different blockchain-based projects. While accumulating my knowledge, back then I also joined trading groups hoping to maximize my gains, believed anonymous people’s recommendations on the internet, and invested my money blindly. I made losses and gains. Probably the profit I made is nothing compared with a lot of crypto trading experts in the space. I do not own a Lambo or a luxurious villa. But it helped me significantly in terms of improving my life quality. For example, I do not have to work 40–60 hours a week to make the ends meet. I can finally afford to buy a decent property for my family, I can take my kids to go for short holidays whenever there is a long weekend during the school semester and long holidays during summertime.

In this article, I summarized 26 points or rules which helped me in making profits.

1. Know the asset you are investing in. If you decide to buy Bitcoin, read about Satoshi Nakamoto’s white paper first, learn how blockchain technology works, what is a public and a private key, what is proof of work, etc. If you are buying Ethereum, learn about smart contracts, how initial coin offerings and decentralized finance platforms work, etc. There are a lot of free resources on the internet with easy-to-understand explanations.

For more information, check out my big step-by-step guide about how to properly research crypto projects and crypto currencies here:

Know the crypto regulations in your country. What kind of cryptocurrencies are you allowed to buy and hold in your country? What kind of documents do you need to provide when buying crypto? How does the crypto tax regulation work? When you want to sell, always contact your crypto broker/exchange in advance to ask for the cash-out procedure, contact your bank in advance to ask what you need to provide in case you have a large amount of money flow into your account. Remember, always research these things in advance, even if you do not plan to sell immediately because it probably takes a very long time for those institutions to check and verify everything.

Do not invest more than you can afford to lose. Do not use your emergency money because crypto prices are very volatile and you might not get your money back when you need it urgently. Invest an amount that will not put you in a difficult situation if you lose it.

Never go all-in. After you have decided the total amount, you want to invest, for your first-time investment only spend part of it to buy whichever cryptocurrency you have researched and think is promising. Always have some cash at the side to buy the dip. This also reduces your risk of losing all the money when your expectation does not work out.

Keep your cryptos in your hardware wallet and keep your private keys and seed phrases safe. Never leave your crypto in exchanges, because they might get hacked or go bankrupt. In those cases, you will lose everything and never get it back.

Keep your private keys and seed phrased safe. Never save your private keys and seed phrases in your laptop or your smartphone, because they might get hacked as well. You can write them down on a piece of paper and put it in a place only you can find.

Do not day trade. Unless you are a very experienced trader, it is not a good idea to day trade, because you are trading against countless bots and whales who can influence the market. Chances are that you will lose a lot of money.

Do not leverage trade. Lots of platforms provide high leverage trading, which makes the gains look very attractive. But unless you have a lot of experience in leverage trading, chances are your position will get liquidated.

Accumulate knowledge about the crypto/blockchain space, such as new protocols, new developments, new projects, new regulations, general sentiments, price models, and so on. Blockchain and crypto are still at the early development stage. That is also why there are a lot of opportunities in this space. The market changes very fast, there are lots of news and developments every day. That is what makes the whole space exciting and interesting. Spend some time to read the news, you do not need to read every detail, but just the headlines and summaries are enough.

Here’s an article where I a list of 8 free Bitcoin indicators that I am using to analyse long-term trends:

10. Focus on the long term. Long-term means anything from a year to 5 years, or even more. Let’s look at Bitcoin which has the largest market cap at the moment. It just crashed more than 50% in the past week; tens of thousands of traders got their positions liquidated during a short period of time. However, if you zoom out to look at the long-term price development, you will see that anyone who held Bitcoin for more than 4 years is in profit.

11. Do not panic sell when the price is experiencing a fast drop unless you are already in significant profit and thinking about exiting. Normally whales use this strategy so that they can get cheap coins. Do not fall for that trick. Also, negative news affects the price of crypto, such as bankruptcy of exchange, some country bans the use and mine of crypto. In the past, prices tend to recover after some time.

12. Do not buy when the price just reaches an all-time high. Because all the people who bought at low price earlier are aiming to sell their coins at this level to take profit. Normally, after prices experience parabolic growth, either a huge downtrend will follow or a price correction will happen.

13. Do not buy when the price is in a downtrend. Because the price is likely to get lower and lower. It is better to wait until the price has stabilized, then place a buy order.

14. Do not give up when the price reaches the bottom, it is normally when the accumulation starts.

Another year has begun for Verasity, and we have an exciting and jam-packed roadmap for 2023 which we will soon release. But before we do that, it’s time to reflect on the significant progress, partnerships, patents, and development milestones we made in 2022!

Let’s first start by saying that we know it’s been a challenging year in the crypto markets. Before we dive into our 2022 recap, we want to once again remind our community members that in spite of wider events during 2022; our runway, business cases, and commitment to delivering on our products and vision remains the same.

In fact, during 2022 we’ve actually grown our leadership team, and increased our outbound sales strategies significantly, while many projects scaled back. We will continue this growth through 2023, and with the foundations laid during 2022, move at an even faster pace.

These conditions are partly why, midway through the year, wider market forces in the crypto space made us carefully evaluate which of our product verticals would bring us lasting success, while also delivering on short and mid-term business goals for Verasity and VRA holders. This product, as many of you know, was VeraViews — and we’re proud of the huge strides it has made since its full rollout in July 2022.

VeraViews and its adoption, and by proxy the adoption of VRA, remain in full focus for 2023; but that’s not to say we won’t be co-developing other product verticals in parallel.

In this article, we’ll be examining our progress in Q4 2022, before taking a detailed look-back on the entirety of 2022 and our many milestones. We’ll also examine our social and community growth. Let’s first take a look at our roadmap progress for Q4 2022.

And what has been done so far? Am I still in time to invest in this project, and if so how can I best do this?

I will try to answer these questions in this Exo beginners guide. Let’s start with what ExoWorlds wants to be and what has been done so far. ExoWorlds will be a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) being built on Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) and it will be Play2Earn (P2E). There has been an NFT mint of 10k NFTs and a state-of-the-art website with integrated marketplace has been built. Game development is in full swing and it promises to be a visual treat, with an immersive VR experience.

In the game there will be loads of things to do like fighting, running an economy, politics and space exploration. All transactions will be recorded on the VeChainThor blockchain, and the game will have its own dual-token system. Especially for this game, a prize-winning VeChain/UE5 integration was developed.

That’s all cool, but am I still in time to join?

The action will mainly take place on the 10.000 NFTs that have been minted in the beginning of 2022, 10k of procedurally generated planets. And YES, you can still buy one or more on one of VeChains marketplaces like VeSea and WoV or preferably on Exo’s own marketplace. Currently you can pick up a planet for around 5400 Vet, or about $89. You are still well in time.

Each planet has a unique combination of attributes, like planet type, different sentient evolution life forms, neutron stars, Apex predators, mother planets and several types of moons. Some attributes are extremely rare, others are more common, and all these attributes combined result in a rarity score and subsequent rank from 1–10.000. Higher ranked planets are usually more desired, but it doesn’t mean all rare attributes will be equally beneficial in the game. For instance, a purple nebula around a planet is a very rare attribute (1.11% of the planets have this), but its in-game use may well be fairly limited.

So if you’re looking for the right planet to buy, you’ll want to carefully check its attributes. Find some you like and of which you think they will be good in the game and/or suiting your play style.

So we have learned that planets are where the game is (mainly) played, what else can we do with them?

Besides having attributes, planet holders are also eligible for an Exo-token Airdrop. All planets will give a certain amount and there are three main types: Whitelist (WL), Public Mint (PM) and Secondary Market (SM). Respectively they drop 147.040, 91.900 and 55.140 tokens. This Airdrop is yet to happen and needless to say, the base (floor) price for WL planets is higher than for SM planets. So, be mindful of this when buying a planet as it could actually be the perfect time to pick up a planet with great attributes for relatively less Vet.

Another thing to consider; planets have coordinates, to place them somewhere in the galaxy. Right now, it is possible to exchange these coordinates and swap places in the galaxy, for instance to link your planets together to form a cluster. This will obviously have in-game benefits. If you find yourself having a planet with highly desired coordinates, you can also just offer them up for swaps on the marketplace and make some extra Vet! Who knows where your planet will end up after the swap.

But wait, there’s more. There will also be a virtual land drop (land in the galactic hub) for every planet held. This land can be used to set up a shop for instance.

Finally, let’s say you own multiple planets and/or are not much of a gamer. You will be able to rent your planet to multiple players, these players pay taxes in the form of tokens to you. You decide how high the taxes on your planet are, so don’t go too high or players will look for another planet to inhabit. Of course, this will be dependent on how awesome your planet is, so again, mind the attributes.

You mentioned.. tokens?

ExoWorlds will have a dual-token system, like Vet/VTHO. ExoDust token ($Exo) generates Galactic credits ($GCred) when staked. Find out all about these tokens on the exoworlds tokenomics page. ExoWorlds will start off on the VeChain blockchain but will be bridges to different networks so you can freely move your coins between VET and ETH, with support for more networks coming.

Right now, if you own planets you can make a profile on the website and it will display all your info. Which planets you own, their coordinates and what your projected $Exo Airdrop will be! With a profile, you can also message other planet owners and so much more.

How to buy?

Simple, create a VeChain wallet, for instance with Sync2,send over some Vet tokens and make sure you have some VTHO for transaction costs as well (Vet token will generate this over time and you’ll need sub-cent amounts but still). Then connect your wallet on exoworlds.io and while there, head over to the marketplace. It’s that easy.

Keeping up-to-date.

Make sure to follow ExoWorlds on Twitter and Instagram, lots of information is shared there often. And join the Discord server for all ins and outs, sweet deals and for asking any question you might have. Links to all socials can be found on exoworlds.io.
