Was sind NFTs?

Ein sogenannter Non-Fungible Token (NFT) ist ein „kryptografisch eindeutiges, unteilbares, unersetzbares und überprüfbares Token, das einen bestimmten Gegenstand, sei er digital oder physisch, in einer Blockchain repräsentiert“ [1]

Die Eigentumsverhältnisse werden über Smart Contracts verwaltet. Das Besondere dabei ist, daß der Smart Contract auf einer Blockchain gespeichert werden kann (z.B. Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, etc.) und somit für alle einsehbar ist. In diesem wird das Asset einem einzigen Eigentümer festgeschrieben und der Verweis wo sich das Asset befindet (z.B. eine URL für ein Bild).

Doch es gibt noch eine Vielzahl weiterer Arten von NFTs und vor Allem für was die NFT stehen, die sogenannte „Utility“ ist das interessante daran.

Anwendungsbereiche für NFTs

Kunst

Man kann ja alles als Kunst bezeichnen, also auch die JPEGs. Allerdings benutzen eine Vielzahl von Künstlern die NFTs für ihre Kunstwerke, um diese Weltweit einem Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Ein enormer Vorteil von NFTs.

· Digital: Eigentumsrecht an einem digitalen Bild über einen NFT auf der Blockchain festgeschrieben

· Physisch: Das Eigentumsrecht an einem physischen, real vorhandenen Gegenstand wird auf der Blockchain festgeschrieben.

· Phygital: Das Eigentumsrecht bezieht sich auf einen digitalen sowie damit verbundenen physischen realen Gegenstand, festgeschrieben auf der Blockchain.

Kaum noch physisch möglich, bieten die „neuen“ Künstler ihre generative Art, kurz GenArt (übersetzt generative Kunst) als NFTs an. Dabei werden über einen Algorithmus oder einen KI-Quellcode zufällige Kunstwerke generiert, die dann als NFTs ebenfalls an Sammler und Investoren weltweit angeboten werden können.

Gaming

In-Game-NFTs haben sich in den letzten Jahren zu einem der trendigsten Produkte in der Kryptowelt entwickelt, da es einen praktikablen Anwendungsfall für NFT-Technologie in Blockchain-orientierten und nicht-krypto-basierten Spielen zu geben scheint. Der Wert des weltweiten Spielgeschäfts hat heute 300 Milliarden Dollar überschritten und die Zahl der aktiven Spieler liegt bei 2,7 Milliarden. What are NFTs?
