Post3 explores NFT articles from Web3 publishing platforms and aims to deliver insightful reports and datasets to the community.

Every hour, entries are being submitted on Arweave, a blockchain-like storage solution that is building the permanent web (permaweb), along with other networks like IPFS. Each article from Mirror or Paragraph can be fetched by crawling Arweave with GraphQL queries.

Web3 publishing platforms created the interface to easily create, read and mint writing NFTs, which under the hood are JSON files with very rich data. Depending on the author’s submission configuration, each JSON can have the following information: title, price, chain, supply, contributor’s wallet, timestamp and more.

To gather high amounts of articles from web2 publishing platforms, either they provide an API, or it becomes very difficult to extract their information. The same does not apply to writing NFTs. By accessing their backbone (JSON), data analysts and data scientists have the privilege to work with structured data and draw insights.

That’s where Post3 steps in. Let’s see what it currently aims to do.

1 - Data Insights

Post3 crawls the data from Arweave and applies Web Scraping techniques to acquire additional features from Web3 publishing platforms. The obtained data is polished and used to drive insights about the articles. Post3 aims to publish a weekly recap in the form of a concise report, that provides charts, and comments concerning the number of collections, revenue, textual analysis and more.

Depending on adoption, Post3 aims to provide monthly and yearly recaps, as well as special edition NFT entries, with extra insights using more advanced techniques.

These reports can be very helpful for authors to understand what others are doing, and apply strategies to increase their collections, subscribers or revenue. Besides, they provide a historical overview of the web3 publishing platforms evolution.

2 - Datasets

The datasets that Post3 utilizes to generate reports undergo a rigorous multi-step process. From data extraction, cleaning, and creation of new features. Finally, they are saved as CSV files and uploaded to Arweave.

All datasets are available at the bottom of each report, but they can also be found at the Ocean Market, for minting and further analysis.

3 - Applications

As soon as the data collection starts to increase, applications can be built on Post3. Such as better Search Engines, APIs, Chatbots and many more.

Conclusion

Post3 aims to enrich the Web3 publishing ecosystem in several ways, and it will flourish as long as there’s adoption of reports and datasets. The ultimate goal is to reach step 3 and start building applications.

This entry is merely an introduction to Post3, which is a living organism, so changes might happen in the near future, hopefully for the better, let’s nurture it!
