    New on Radiant

    To kick off this new edition, let's explore the latest updates on Radiant.

    First, Radiant has implemented significant security enhancements by introducing per-asset caps for deposits and borrowings. This change allows each asset to be regulated independently, ensuring optimal flexibility and security.

    Next, Radiant has launched a new market on the Binance Smart Chain: wbETH.

    For those unfamiliar, wbETH is a liquid staking ETH derivative token from Binance, where 1 wbETH represents 1 ETH plus accrued staking rewards.

    Additionally, Radiant has introduced an exciting new feature: "UNWIND". This feature allows you to manage your loop strategy with a single click.

    Developed in collaboration with Furucombo's lending SDK, it streamlines the process and enhances user experience.

    Exciting developments are underway at Radiant. Here’s a look at the latest advancements:

    First, regarding Radiant Innovation Zone, contracts have been deployed and tested, and they are now in the final stages of auditing. The official launch is imminent, so get ready.

    Radiant Dimensions

    In April, three new editions of Radiant Dimensions were released, continuing our mission to educate users on various aspects of Radiant.

    Let's begin with an overview of Radiant's business model, use cases, and challenges.

    Radiant is built on three main pillars:

    • Lending & Borrowing: Radiant facilitates a seamless interaction between lenders and borrowers through liquidity. Lenders earn interest from the fees paid by borrowers, supported by the base market rate.

    • dLP Liquidity Providing: By participating as a liquidity provider for the RDNT/ETH and RDNT/BNB pairs, you earn a share of the protocol fees.

    • RNDT Emissions: Locking dLPs allows eligible users to access RNDT token emissions.

    The other two editions focus on the lending and borrowing system, clarifying key concepts. Here's a simplified explanation:

    Deposit the asset of your choice on the chain of your choice (Ethereum, Arbitrum, or BSC). This deposit allows you to either borrow or lend assets. Upon deposit, an rToken is minted, representing a 1:1 peg of the deposited asset. The interest generated by this asset is then distributed to rToken holders.

    Great news for Radiant! Gauntlet has joined us once again to help promote Circle's native USDC.

    Here's an update on the goals and new features the Radiant team is diligently working on.

    Currently, the developers are focused on the Radiant Innovation Zone. The main contracts have been deployed, and the user interface is awaiting feedback before finalization.

    Security remains a top priority, with efforts concentrated on enhancing bad debt management and conducting audits on deposit and borrow caps.

    TLDR on the recent bad debt event, the remaining bad debt of 720 ETH has been fully repaid.

    Arbitrum STIP Update

    Exciting news! The qualification period for the airdrop of 2,000,000 ARB tokens has been extended until March 29th.

    This extension means that individuals interested in participating in this rewarding opportunity can still join the adventure. To do so, simply lock your dLPs for a duration of 6-12 months. Additionally, if you missed out on previous snapshots, you have the option to lock your dLPs again.

    In addition, we're thrilled to announce that we've successfully reached milestone 5. This achievement signifies that the entire grant will now be distributed to eligible users, totalling 2M ARB tokens to be shared amongst everyone!

    Radpie Campaign Update

    Radiant has decided to allocate 353,000 ARB tokens to Radpie in order to offer advantages to lending pools.

    These three pools have each reached 5,000,000 deposits. At this level, 11,770 ARB are distributed each week in each of the pools.

    Dev Updates

    Radiant has numerous projects in the pipeline, so let's take a look at them together:

    Over the next few weeks, the Radiant team will be working on the Radiant Innovation Zone (or RIZ). This will be a risk isolated lending market, that will enable the listing of many new (and more degen) assets for our users enjoyment.

    Auto-compound will be activated by default for all users, but you can of course modify this to suit your preferences.

    A new reward token stream will also be introduced, so don't spoil the surprise...

    More generally, work is planned to increase security and polish the UX.

    Radiant Dimensions

    Radiant has taken advantage of the month of February to produce a large number of educational posts so here is a brief summary of the most interesting information

    1️⃣ Providing Liquidity

    On Arbitrum and Mainnet, you can do this with Balancer, following the 80/20 RNDT-ETH model.

    On BSC, you can do this on Pancake Swap with 50/50 RNDT-BNB.

    You can also provide liquidity on platforms like CamelotDEX, but you won't be able to lock for a share of platform revenue, rather earning trading fees and arb rewards if you stake your LP in their nitro pool.

    2️⃣ Real Yield

    Another way to benefit from the platform's fees is to lock your dLPs, who receive 60% of the total fees generated by Radiant.

    3️⃣ Click, Loop and Lock

    As you may be aware, looping involves depositing tokens, borrowing them, and then redepositing the loan to maximize your assets.

    At Radiant, you can execute this process with a single click. It automatically borrows ETH and creates dLP, ensuring user activation for RDNT emissions. Learn more about looping with this article.

    Gauntlet & Arbitrum Foundation

    In order to promote the adoption of the USDC on Arbitrum, Radiant has joined forces with the Arbitrum Foundation and Gauntlet.

    Radiant now has more than 214,687 ARB tokens, all of which will be available over the next 70 days (from February 23).

    Radiant has unveiled its latest iteration, V3, which has received approval from the DAO.

    But what distinguishes this new version?

    Radiant V3 embodies a culmination of community feedback and ideas aimed at enhancing the platform's functionality and user experience.

    Key developments include the exploration of new avenues, such as the integration of additional assets into the money market via the Radiant Innovation Zone, the implementation of Long/Short Strategies through Money Market Looping, and the introduction of Dynamic Protocol Fee Distributions.

    The primary objectives of Radiant V3 are the following:

    • Increase the user and holder base tenfold

    • Secure a position within the top three for protocol revenue among all lending platforms across various blockchains

    • Lock in over $85 million worth of dLP across Arbitrum, Ethereum, and BNB networks.

    2023 Recap

    Reflecting on our journey with Radiant throughout 2023.

    The launch of Radiant V2 marked a significant milestone, signalling a rejuvenation for the platform, accompanied by a host of new opportunities and an expansion on three different chains.

    In terms of network integration, 2023 witnessed Radiant's successful foray into Ethereum and the Binance Smart Chain.

    Notable achievements include a substantial increase in deposits, soaring from $125 million to $672.8 million, and borrowings experiencing a similar surge from $90.3 million to $329.7 million.

    Additionally, the platform saw $105.8 million contributed by dynamic liquidity providers, who gained access to a portion of protocol fees, resulting in a total fee generation of $22 million with the rollout of V2.

    With a user base now exceeding 389,250 users, compared to a modest 37,409 users at the beginning of 2023, Radiant's growth trajectory is undeniable.

    As we embark on the new year, let's channel even greater enthusiasm and momentum into our endeavours.

    Arbitrum STIP Update

    Celebrate the achievement of unlocking Milestone 5 rewards, with nearly 2 million ARB tokens set to be distributed among all dynamic liquidity providers (dLPs).

    It's also worth noting that Arbitrum's STIP program has been extended until March 29.

    The second snapshot for this program is yet to be taken, offering participants continued opportunities for engagement and rewards.

    Radpie ARB rewards

    Radiant has earmarked 282,000 ARB tokens for Radpie.

    Earlier this month, users were invited to join as liquidity providers for various pools on Radpie.

    Rewards will vary based on milestones attained during the period from January 5 to March 19. Refer to the table above for details on the different distributions.

    Additionally, there's the STIP dLP rush, allowing participants to convert their dLP tokens to receive an equivalent amount in mDLP tokens, along with ARBs.

    For this inaugural edition, 60,000 tokens are up for distribution.

    Exploit Event

    Radiant Capital encountered a flash loan-based exploit when it launched the new native USDC market on Arbitrum on January 2nd .

    This resulted in the protocol accumulating bad debt in the WETH market.

    In response to this incident, Radiant has launched a bounty program, offering over $100,000 to individuals who can identify and clarify the exploited flaw.

    Following the exploit, the USDC market was relaunched after Open Zeppelin reviewed the code. No anomalies were detected, and the Loan-to-Value ratio on USDC has been restored to the standard level of 80%.

    Radiant Dimensions

    In January, Radiant delved into new dimensions to enhance understanding of the core concepts that define its platform.

    The introduction of the dLP ZAP feature streamlines the process of creating dLP positions by condensing multiple transactions into a single one.

    Furthermore, Radiant now supports the stETH token, a liquid staking token representing a share of Ethereum staked through Lido Finance. This token enables users to explore Radiant markets on the Ethereum blockchain and qualify for Radiant incentives by locking their dLPs.

    In addition, Radiant employs the OFT standard for its RDNT token, utilizing the OFT-20 standard, an Omnichain Fungible Token format.

    This standard facilitates cross-chain token transfers, ensuring tokens can be seamlessly transferred between different blockchains.

    With LayerZero's assurance of valid delivery, tokens can be burned on the source chain and minted on the destination chain directly through the token contract.

    This integration eliminates liquidity fragmentation, making liquidity accessible across all supported chains.

    Radiant was fortunate to be chosen by the cross-chain carousel, allowing 25 individuals to each receive 230 RDNT tokens between January 15th and 21st.

    Furucombo

    In a collaboration with Aave, Compound Finance, and Furucombo, a special opportunity awaits until March 28th.

    The DAO added five proposals, RFP-27, RFP-28, RFP-29, RFP-30 and RFP-31 let’s review them :

    • RFP-27: This proposal addresses the incident that occurred on January 2nd and outlines the strategy and timeline for recapitalizing the Arbitrum loan market and repaying the excess debt on the WETH market. The proposal has been accepted meaning that bad dept will be repaid using DAO funds.

    • RFP-28: This proposal presents Radiant V3 and all the new features this update would bring. The proposal has been accepted.

    • RFP-29: This proposal concerns Radiant's potential collaboration with Chaos Labs, which would further secure Radiant's protocol markets. The proposal has been accepted.

    • RFP-30: This proposal gives the DAO the choice of selecting the marketing agency that will handle our need to boost the engagement and visibility of Radiant. The choice is between Scrib3, Serotonin and RadarBlock. The DAO selected Serotonin.

    • RFP-31: This proposal suggests allocating $30,000 from Radiant's Operating Expenses to produce educational videos for Radiant v3. The proposal has been accepted.

    Following the DAO's decision, Radiant has introduced a new asset incentive for dLPs.

    Depending on your lock duration, BAL tokens are now flowing to dLPs on Arbitrum as platform fees.

    The Balancer 80/20 dLP pool generates a constant trading fees inflow that is redirected into Redacted Cartel’s “Hidden Hand”. In a result this path allows qualifying users to receive BAL tokens as a reward.

    Binance Wallet

    Partnering with Binance, three different operations have been carried out: firstly, RDNT has been integrated into Locked Products, allowing you to earn RDNT rewards according to the lock period you choose. More information here.

    Secondly, Radiant has allowed everyone to try their luck using the brand new Binance Web3 Wallet, all you had to do was to swap RDNT using the wallet.

    Radiant’s Dev talks look back at the significant challenges and realized/upcoming tasks for November.

    Firstly a Recap on the long-awaited Ethereum launch, Radiant has dealt with concerns about gas costs and security. To improve efficiency, substantial smart contract optimizations have been made, reducing gas costs by 70% initially and an additional 25-50% later. Several additional audits were also taken with the help of OpenZeppelin and contributors like Pashov, Riptide, and Pop Punk. Support for Ethereum governance discussions and a proposal forum will be coming soon too.

    Radiant is actively working on distributing Aura and BAL rewards ASAP. In essence, this means that there's now an expanded capability for reward distribution even if the asset is not listed on Radiant’s money market, allowing for the distribution of any asset to dLP holders via the platform revenue stream.

    Concerning the UI, Radiant’s front-end wizard Dan has shared information with us regarding upcoming additions, new features for both Arbitrum and BSC, dLP zapping from non-ETH assets as well as setting custom slippage.

    First off, the grant proposal has been approved, receiving overwhelming support and granting Radiant almost 2,852,044 ARB tokens.

    This is a very strong endorsement from Arbitrum that we can all be proud of.

    A total of 2,000,000 ARB is slated for distribution among newly locked dLPs for a duration of 6-12 months on Arbitrum. This qualification period spans from snapshot 1 (block #147753665) to snapshot 2 (occurring in the next 30-90 days). Act promptly to ensure your eligibility, as the deadline for qualification is January 31, 2024.

    Mainnet Launch

    On November 1st, a significant milestone was achieved with the introduction of Radiant on Ethereum.

    This marks a noteworthy accomplishment, resulting from extensive hours of dedicated work and collaborative efforts within the community.

    Gratitude is extended to all contributors and the community at large, whose support has been instrumental in bringing Radiant to this pivotal juncture.

    The decision to integrate with Ethereum is grounded in a straightforward analysis.

    According to DefiLlama, there is a substantial amount of $70 billion in stablecoin circulating on Ethereum, contrasting with a mere $20 billion actively utilized.

    This observation underscores the existence of a substantial opportunity for Radiant to establish its presence on Ethereum and fulfill its overarching mission.

    Also, the time is ripe for LSTs and RWAs, and Radiant is getting ready to fire.

    It is now possible to lend and borrow in stETH, rETH and sDAI.

    This eagerly anticipated expansion marks a significant achievement and is just around the corner, bringing them one step closer to their goal of uniting fragmented liquidity in the money markets.

    Currently available on both Arbitrum and Binance Smart Chain, an expansion on Ethereum opens the door to a larger ecosystem with a Total Value Locked (TVL) five times greater than the combined TVL of BSC and Arbitrum. This amounts to almost $70 billion in untapped potential.

    It's a great leap forward, so buckle up and get ready for takeoff!

    Dev Update #3

    It's time to take stock of the important tasks Radiant is working on, and to take a look on the challenges ahead.

    First challenge has been to set up the claiming page for the Arbitrum Airdrop, good news it is now up.

    Between May 17 and July 17, the Radiant DAO distributed 1.3 million ARB tokens across over 2500 eligible wallets. Verify whether your wallets meet the criteria on the Dapp and complete your claim within a span of 180 days.

    The second concerns front-end improvements. Hard-working front-end developers have been actively engaged in addressing multiple assignments this week. Notable highlights encompass :

    • Renaming of USDC to USDC.e

    • Incorporation of Vite integration to expedite development processes

    • Enhancement where Borrow/Wallet now defaults to the last preference within Zap modal

    • Integration of Starfleet treasury statistics on the Manage page

    Radiant is now part of the 8020 Initiative. The term "8020" denotes a pool consisting of two assets, with 80% allocated to one asset and 20% to another.

    This model presents several advantages including deep liquidity, asymmetric upside and minimized impermanent loss, efficient incentive programs, hedging and price appreciation.

    The dLP (RDNT-ETH) serves as the core of the Radiant v2 ecosystem on Arbitrum, offering users the opportunity to participate in protocol fees and activate RDNT emissions within the money market.

    The seamless shift from a single-sided lock to Balancer's 80/20 model marked a significant migration milestone, enhancing dex liquidity while alleviating the LP community's burden and minimizing impermanent loss.

    RFP-18 Snapshot 2 Update

    Another thrilling update regarding the distribution of our $3,348,026 ARB token allocation. We are pleased to inform you that the second snapshot was successfully taken on July 17 at 17:00 UTC.

    As a result, users who locked NEW dLP for 6-12 months between snapshots are eligible to receive a share of 1.3M ARB tokens.

    DAO Proposals

    The DAO added 3 new proposals, RFP-20, RFP-21 and RFP-22, here's a quick review of each of them:

    • RFP-20: the proposal concerns the incorporation of wbETH as collateral and a borrowing market on BSC. Wrapped Beacon Ethereum is a liquid staking derivative token designed to mirror the value of staked ETH and its corresponding rewards. Binance Earn facilitates the creation of this token, granting users the chance to partake in ETH staking rewards from the Ethereum network. The proposal has been accepted.

    • RFP-21: the proposal is centered around the DAO's approval of the distribution of our 3,348,026 ARB tokens. Initially, all wallets that locked or relocked dLP within the specified block heights on either Arbitrum or BNB Chain are eligible for the airdrop. RFP-21's objective is to ascertain the distribution ratio between 6-month and 12-month locks and establish the appropriate airdrop cutoffs for dLP locked within the eligible airdrop window. The decision is "3x weighting", indicating that the distribution of releases to 12-month locks will be three times greater than that of 6-month locks. This approach serves as a reward for long-term commitment.

    Since approval for the RFP-18 proposal was achieved by the DAO, Radiant began distributing the Long term incentives allotment of ARB tokens. This constitutes 30% of the total 3,348,026 ARB token allocation, which amounts to one million tokens. The tokens will be distributed among Arbitrum based dLP lockers, and the additional rewards are collected through the dLP platform revenue rewards stream.

    The distribution will occur over a span of 52 weeks, and the amount of your rewards will be determined by your lock duration multiplier, which ranges from 1x to 25x, as well as your share of the dLP pool. On average, 19,000 tokens will be distributed each week.

    Additionally, the claim page will soon go live for the 40% ARB Airdrop for all 6 month/12 month dLP locks made on Arbitrum and BNB network. You can still qualify! The first snapshot was taken on May 17, and the second will happen in the next few weeks.

    As new members were onboarded this month, here is a brief introduction for the new additions to the remarkable team!

    Dan and Fresh pizza have joined the team, each bringing valuable contributions to their respective roles. Dan steps into a pivotal role leading product development and front-end UX design, leveraging his years of design experience in the web3 and web2 arenas. An on-chain native with over seven years in crypto, Dan comes with two successful company exits and Fortune 500 experience under his belt.

    Pizza is a seasoned full-stack developer, having transitioned from the traditional world of finance to the fast-paced realm of DeFi approximately two and a half years ago. He's a boundary pusher and a trailblazer, fully immersing himself into the blockchain universe, with hands-on experience in developing a wide variety of DeFi protocols across both Mainnets and L2s.

    As an active participant and delegate in multiple DAOs, Pizza embodies the spirit of decentralized governance. His dedication extends to being an essential part of our community and using his expertise to help build an exceptional multichain protocol.

    DAO proposals

    The DAO has seen two new proposals surface, RFP-18 and RFP-19. Here is a quick look at them :

    • RFP-18: at the heart of this proposal was the matter of redistributing our ARB allocation to our dLP lockers. We delved into this topic extensively earlier in the article, and as you likely deduced, the proposal was approved, enabling Radiant to distribute rewards among the valued community of loyal users. The proposal has been accepted.

    • RFP-19: following the astounding success of the launch of Radiant V2 on both Arbitrum and BSC, the natural progression is to expand our reach to the Ethereum Mainnet. Radiant’s objective is to establish a prominent presence within the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem, as it presents promising opportunities, vast amounts of untapped liquidity and will facilitate the next stage of expansion and growth. The proposal has been accepted.

      They eagerly anticipate embarking with you in Q3 2023 on this journey. Quorum was reached and they couldn't be more excited to begin this next phase of Radiant's evolution!

    Additional Audit

    OpenZeppelin is added to the long list of our previous auditors because one can never be too careful.

    It is thus a fourth audit which is currently being validated.

    Additionally, Harrison (@PopPunkOnChain on Twitter) did a great job of optimizing costs at our request.

    We have listened to the community, received your feedback and taken your complaints into account, so it is with great pleasure that we can announce that gas costs will be reduced by roughly 30% to 70% for both Arbitrum and the BSC.

    DAO proposals

    This month we have seen five new proposals surface, RFP-13, RFP-14, RFP-15, RFP-16 and RFP-17. We will take a quick look at it :

    • RFP-13 concerns a request to add wsETH as a collateral asset and make it borrowable. The proposal has been accepted.

    • RFP-14 is relative to authorizing the Radiant DAO to issue RDNT tokens to future prospective investors. The proposal has been accepted

    • RFP-15 concerns a request to add ARB as a collateral asset and make it borrowable. The proposal has been accepted.

    • RFP-16 is about establishing a framework on how the DAO will use its ARB allocation. The proposal has been accepted and allows Radiant stakeholders’ to receive ARB tokens.

    • RFP-17 aims to synchronize the minimum lock time for Zaps from vesting $RDNT to align with the emission $RDNT vesting period of 90 days. The proposal has been accepted.

    Welcome to the first monthly edition of our new “Radiant Rundown” newsletter. This format will keep our members informed on the latest updates by summarizing all the important news of the month, allowing you to access the essentials of what's going on with Radiant Capital without needing to overdose on screentime looking for any new scraps of information.

    Radiant V2

    What’s New ?

    You may already be aware, but with great pleasure we were able to successfully launch the second iteration of Radiant Capital last month. Well, it looks great, and the community has been loving it, but what is Radiant V2 all about?

    Briefly, we migrated to LayerZero Labs' Omnifungible Token Standard, which allows for full composability, reducing liquidity fragmentation, exposure to stacked smart contracts or finality risk. If you want to learn more about this type of token we invite you to read this post.

    Introducing new and innovative mechanisms such as:

    • **Token-gated emissions for LPs **

    • **Cross-chain borrowing within minutes **

    • **International UI/UX **

    • **New chain launches **

    Good news never comes alone! In coordination with the launch of V2, we have decided to explore new horizons, so come aboard our ship and get ready for liftoff on the Binance Smart Chain!

    Indeed, after much deliberation we have decided on Binance Smart Chain as our first (of many) multi chain deployment. Our reasoning behind this choice is our desire to bring DeFi's first omnichain money market to such a powerful and significant blockchain and take this first step in our quest of unifying liquidity across all major l1 and l2 blockchains.

    As you may know, Arbitrum has launched its own governance token and alongside this launch they have announced allocations to the best projects in the ecosystem, so we are delighted to share that we are one of the top eligible projects and we have received an allocation of 3,348,026 ARB.

    For the time being, all the funds have been transferred to the treasury, it is important to consider the importance that such an allocation represents. Therefore, we will be patient for the time being and any decision regarding these tokens will be discussed in community forums before being voted on by the DAO.

    You may already know them, but our friends at PlutusDAO have launched a new product called plsRDNT. We are very proud to join the ranks of plsDPX, plsSPA and plsJONES.

    Users can deposit their Radiant dLP tokens on Plutus to receive plsRDNT, this way depositors will be able to get max-locked rewards without having to lock their tokens for a year, while PLS lockers accrue the governance power from the underlying RDNT LP tokens.

    Of course, security has always been our absolute priority, and even more so when it comes to V2.

    That's why we decided to (re)engage a number of audit teams to ensure that everything was in order before and after the launch of this "upgrade". Among those who have accompanied us in this process are PeckShield, Zokyo and BlockSec.

    Bug Bounty

    As we explained earlier, security is our paramount concern, that's why a bugbounty has been set up for anyone who would report a possible flaw or vulnerability in our contracts or in our front end.

    3 main proposals have been current this month, RFP-10, RFP-11 and RFP-12.Respectively, these proposals were aimed at:
