Berlin Blockchain Week: we are working with partners to coordinate programming bridging AI, regeneration, and Web3.

Amsterdam: we are partnering with global organisers hosting a series of events and residencies alongside Dutch Blockchain Week, and supporting the launch of the Cosmolocal Playground.

Mumbai: we are partnering with local organisers curating an event to inspire and educate the youth of Mumbai on ReFi, Web3 and Climate Activism.

Devconnect Argentina: We are submitting a proposal for a Regen Community Hub to connect local projects and changemakers with global attendees, similar to the one we just produced in Bangkok.

2. Educational Media and Storytelling Platform 🎥

Community Showcase: A discovery hub for ReFi and climate-focused communities in Web3. The next version will spotlight impactful projects, useful tools, supportive networks, onboarding resources, and key builders.

Recorded Content: we are publishing recorded event sessions from our digital webinars, 1-1 project interviews, and after-movies from our last events.

3. A Collaborative Regen Ecosystem 🤝

Toolkits for Event Organizers: We’ll support organizers to host events under or with Regens Unite branding, as a response to ongoing interest in gatherings focused on ReFi, Web3, climate, activism, art, and more.

Media Partnerships and Regen Alliances: Regenerative development requires collaboration over competition, so we’re brewing an alliance of community-building initiatives across the web3 ecosystem. We are also organically expanding our impact and reach through aligned storytelling partnerships.

Regens Unite looks back with gratitude on an incredible year filled with dynamic events, meaningful conversations, and the forging of new connections. Once again, we rolled up our sleeves and dedicated ourselves to nurturing the growth of the regenerative movement, contributing in every way possible to support its flourishing. Here’s to continuing this vital work together!

🌱 hosted 6 events across Europe, South America and Southeast Asia

🌱 reached over 1300 participants through in-person connections and community calls

🌱 launched the Commons Hub Brussels, a physical community space hub in the capital of Europe

🌱 created an IRL regen economy experience with NFC wristbands, issuing 7823 $RegenBxl tokens

In March, Regens Unite London 2024 gathered technologists, artists, healers, and environmentalists to forge connections and inspire transformative ideas.

Hosted at Space4, a home for digital cooperatives, the event fostered collaboration and a shared commitment to a regenerative future through open dialogue and creativity.

In March, we hosted a Regen Meetup at the vibrant Fabulosa Lab maker space, uniting regenerative thinkers from diverse organizations like AgroforestDAO, GnarsDAO, and Gitcoin. Using Open Space technology, we explored communication strategies for onboarding and supporting regen communities, innovative funding mechanisms for regenerative projects, and ways to harmonize human activity with nature through agroforestry, waste management, and carbon credits.

Amid deep conversations, we shared successes, challenges, and laughter, forging connections rooted in a shared vision for a regenerative future. This inspiring gathering marks the beginning of many more regen meetups in Rio. 🌱✨

In April, the Honor the Earth festival brought together change makers to co-create an inclusive, regenerative future.

Featuring Indigenous wisdom, climate action, and community-building, the event showcased how collaboration can transform challenges into opportunities for a just society. In partnership with 7 Billion Presidents, Her Many Voices and Regens Unite.

In July, the Regen Village transformed a stunning venue in Brussels into a weeklong regenerative basecamp for innovators and changemakers. Running alongside EthCC From July 8th to 12th, this dynamic experience included co-working, panels, workshops, and community experiments, fostering deeper connections and showcasing crypto and frontier tech as tools for regeneration.

At this year’s Devcon 7 SEA in Thailand, Regens Unite hosted the Regen Hub, a 4-day community-driven experience connecting Southeast Asian changemakers with the global Web3 community. With over

The space became a vibrant hub for collaboration, education, and exploration of regenerative work. Local initiatives from Thailand and Southeast Asia took center stage, bridging communities and inspiring newcomers to the movement. Regens Unite was honored to be a partner in the first edition of New to Web3? Start Here, a practical blockchain onboarding experience for the local Thai community in Bangkok.

This one-day event included panels, games, a wallet setup workshop, and a garden of booths for attendees to learn how to complete their first transaction, mint an NFT, learn about regenerative communities in Web3, and more! The mission of Regens Unite is to create opportunities for all of us to meet, relate and connect in a meaningful way, to co-create and learn with one another, beyond our respective bubbles. We do this with the intention to connect deeper to ourselves, to others and to our environment and nature. The question we live and research together is: what else is possible? In that process, curiosity is our guide, uncertainty our challenge.

In 2022 and 2023, we organised 10 in-person gatherings and retreats to bring together diverse groups of regenerators and system changers in thoughtfully facilitated, co-created, and curated events. We focused on building bridges between a wide variety of backgrounds and generations, fostering trust, nurturing curiosity towards others, and weaving true human connections. This beautiful video, made by Guil (🙏🏽), conveys the vibes and mission of Regens Unite.

We all bring a crucial piece to the puzzle. We unite not to fit in, nor to blur the differences, but to experience more community and belonging as we revisit and become more conscious about the relationships we have with ourselves, others, and our planet. It is not our differences that divide us, but our judgment about those differences. Activists, healers, teachers, dreamers, tech builders, organisational designers, artists, facilitators, commoners, leaders, creators, rebels, community weavers — all of you are welcome here. Bring who you are, bring your voice, and join with an open mind.

In 2024, we will continue to create opportunities for meeting others, not only in person but also online. Alongside the in-person events, we will offer a wide variety of online gatherings. • to cross-pollinate, learn from each other and support each other by sharing knowledge and experience in an interactive way. No-one knows as much as everyone.

• to regen, rejuvenate and recharge. We recognise having fun, movement, action and doing, as much as finding stillness, reflection and being to regenerate and connect to life.

• to embrace our differences and move beyond judgement. Diversity is a crucial aspect of a healthy ecosystem. We choose curiosity over judgement.

• to contribute to creating and (re)telling stories of regeneration, shared responsibility and kinship. We are all crew. We all have a role in the story and we are conscious of our impact.

Istanbul & Brussels: we recently organized a regen track at d:pact in Istanbul, and we are kicking off the pre-planning for a larger-scale Regens Unite alongside ethCC Brussels in 2024.

Going Digital: digital webinars are the next stage of our evolution. We plan to make hand-held onboarding for regen platforms (like Gitcoin) and tools accessible online.

2. Educational Media and Storytelling Platform 🎥

Recorded Content: post-production of recorded event sessions, 1-1 project interviews, and after-movies from our recent events in Berlin & London.

Community Spotlight Platform: we are planning a series of interviews, building out a dedicated community page on our website, and creating the infrastructure to connect regenerative projects with resources and one another.

3. A Collaborative Regen Ecosystem 🤝

Media Partnerships and Regen Alliances: regenerative development requires collaboration over competition, so we’re brewing an alliance of community-building initiatives and aligned storytelling partnerships across the web3 ecosystem.

Regens Unite has an incredible opportunity this week to raise funds on Gitcoin, the crowdfunding platform that has fueled our journey since Day 1. We've been accepted to participate in three separate rounds for GG19, with matching funds totaling up to $356,500!

Through November 29th, you can donate to Regens Unite and have your contribution matched through the magic of quadratic funding.

The more individual donations we receive, the more matching funds are sent our way!

🧐 How does it work?

Each round has a pool of matching funds to be distributed to participating projects after the round ends.

Web3 Community & Education on PGN Network: $200,000

Climate Solutions on Optimism Network: $150,000

Cult DAO Round on Optimism Network: $6500

The more donations we receive from donors with a Passport score of ≥20, the more matching funds are released to us at the end of the round - so every bit of support increases the impact for our project.

2. Click the purple "Add to Cart" button for each grant, adding as many to your cart as you wish.

3. Make sure to verify your Gitcoin Passport with enough stamps to get a score of at least 20 to ensure your donations get matched.

4. In your Cart checkout view, select your preferred token and add the amount for each grant that you would like to donate. If your Passport is correctly verified, you will see the estimated matching numbers for your donation!

5. Select the purple button, "Submit your Donation," and follow the steps to confirm your transactions.

💞 We're fundraising on Giveth & Gitcoin!

The Regens Unite core team does all of its event organizing, media production, and communications work voluntarily, and predominantly unpaid. Outside of a few small event sponsorships, Regens Unite has been entirely supported by donations so far. While we are developing a sustainable business model to change this, we need funding now to continue our work.

What a turnout at Regens Unite Berlin! The second annual edition took place alongside Berlin Blockchain Week, Climate & Transport Week, and Art Week on Sept 15th-16th. ✨

Leaders and builders from platform cooperatives, regenerative agriculture, climate activism, personal development, regenerative finance (ReFi), decentralized organizations (DAOs), indigenous art & culture, and decentralized science (DeSci) met on the ground for two days of provocative exchanges, learnings, music & food.

The goal was to create a unique space for new connections to emerge between diverse communities, around the shared interest of regeneration. Over 50 session holders facilitated a diverse range of workshops and interactive panels.

We experimented with new ways of exchanging value, such as a community currency in the form of RGN tokens enabled by Citizen Wallet, as well as a Regen Lottery inviting participants to contribute regenerative offerings to one another! 💚

To kickstart a small regen economy, we used @citizenwallet to launch a community currency (RGN) and onboard newcomers to a web3 wallet.

Participants could pay for food, drinks, and art with either paper or digital RGN tokens. The result, ~75 new wallets and ~220 transactions!

Exploring Sustainability and Adventure on Two Wheels

Marco Bear, co-founder of Solarpunk Nomads, took his first European bike expedition from Lake Como in Italy to Brussels in Belgium. A total of 1500km was cycled!! The aim? To pioneer the first-ever route for Solarpunk Nomads, a trailblazing project seeking to blend sustainable technology and adventure travel into a seamless union.

The expedition had been a mixture of experiences, laughter, and challenges. As Marco traversed the miles, he encountered an array of extraordinary moments. From quaint villages to lush meadows, the European landscape unfolded before him, inviting him to connect with the beauty of nature and the communities that thrive within it.

The journey had been no less than an adrenaline-fueled rollercoaster. Marco experienced the unpredictable European weather firsthand, with fast storms, scorching heat waves, and chilly nights testing his endurance and adaptability. Despite these challenges, he smiled through it all, proving that passion and determination are the driving forces behind every successful adventure.

As the adventure concluded, the Solarpunk bike reached its destination, bringing with it a tale of inspiration and a mission for the future - paving the way for others to follow and embrace sustainable travel options. The combination of electric vehicles and solar-powered technology presents an exciting possibility for reducing the environmental impact of travel while fostering a connection with nature.

Leen and Xavier's Epic Bike Adventure: Journey from Brussels to Paris and Back! 🚵

Our very own Leen & Xavier embarked on an incredible adventure, biking from Brussels to Paris and back for the highly anticipated ETHCC event. Their journey was filled with breathtaking landscapes, charming pit stops, and a dash of unexpected excitement. Here's a summary of their remarkable travels!

From Brussels to Paris

The journey began with a train ride to Charleroi, followed by an invigorating bike ride to Aulnoye-Aymeries, France. They found a welcoming host through http://welcometomygarden.org and set up their cozy tent for the night. Next, they hopped on a TER train to Compiègne, seamlessly transporting themselves and their bikes. A rejuvenating strawberry break was a sweet pause before they reached Chantilly, where they rested and prepared for the final stretch. With just 45km left, the pair pushed on and made their way to Meaux, surprised by the abundance of car-free paths along the route, before finally arriving in Paris.

From Paris to Brussels

The second part of their journey was equally captivating. Leen and Xavier embraced the calming embrace of nature, allowing it to revitalize their energy as they pedaled an impressive 83km in one day.

Their adventure took an unexpected turn as they stumbled upon a hidden wilderness trench, feeling like they'd discovered a parallel universe. Their accomplishment of covering 500km+ by bike is an inspiration to us all, a reminder that with each pedal stroke, new horizons can be reached and cherished memories can be made.

Marco, Leen & Xavier, show us that regenerative travel isn't just a concept – it's a reality. Their bike journeys aren't just about distance; it's about the connections they made, the landscapes they explored, and the rejuvenation they experienced along the way.

On a beautiful July day, Regens Unite hosted a full day of community-led interactive workshops and deep conversations at L’Académie du Climat in the heart of Paris. In partnership with the Impact Blockchain Conference, organized by Blockchainforgood.fr and Decentralized Desires, we created safe and brave spaces for regens to dive into a broad range of topics around community impact and coordination, the climate crisis, and building resilience together.

A Transformative Experience at the L'Arbre qui Pousse Summer Camp 🌱🏕️

We've just wrapped up an incredible journey of self-discovery, connection, and rejuvenation at the Griffon Regen Summer Camp! For one inspiring week, participants from all walks of life came together to experience the magic of intentional community living in the heart of the vibrant ecovillage, just south of Brussels.

Creating a Harmonious Community:

Throughout the camp, the principles of care and respect guided every activity. We lived, worked, played, and learned in harmony with ourselves, the land, and the community around us. From sharing stories to working side by side on sustainable projects, every moment was an opportunity to bond and grow.

Embracing Regeneration

The regenerative power of intentional community living was evident throughout the camp. As we unplugged from the stresses of daily life, we found solace in nature, fostered deep connections, and allowed ourselves to be truly present in the moment.

Leaving a Positive Impact

One of our core values was contribution. By the end of our time together, we had not only grown individually but had also left a lasting imprint on the community and L'Arbre qui Pousse. Europe is heating up! June has been a very busy month of planning, and we're excited to announce our presence in both Barcelona and Paris to gather regens from all corners alongside two major sustainability-focused blockchain conferences.

Big news for Paris! 🇫🇷

We're partnering with the Impact Blockchain Conference in launching a Regen Hub on July 20th alongside EthCC, one of the largest conferences of the year. We'll be facilitating thought-provoking discussions around regeneration, the urgent climate crisis, & community organizing for impact.

Regenerative vibes in Barcelona 🇪🇸

And at ETHBarcelona this week, our very own Guil delivered a session on building regenerative events. We also participated in various side events, running around town spreading the regen vibes. ETHBarcelona is a community-led event centering on the Ethereum blockchain, cryptocurrency, and decentralization. It focuses on education, innovation, art, and creating positive social impact with new technologies and caring communities.

Past Events 👀

Set up across five cities in Europe, from Brussels to Bangalore, Bristol, Amsterdam, and Berlin. A group of people fed nearly 200 people.

How did this coordination happen? Well, Crypto for the Homeless, a non-profit organisation that was created to help the homeless using crowd-funded cryptocurrencies, had teamed up with an amazing group of people, from Sinouhe Monteiro, Jeremy Akers, Gnoman, WeCo, Atlantis DAO, Rishi, and many others.

How did it work? CryptoFTH reimbursed all the costs in crypto, and then they staked the crypto to the Playnet to fund more regenerative play. The Playnet is a crowdstaking pool to fund regenerative play. The yield funds the games and players of the next Turn. Every player receives Proof of Play NFTs. Proof of Play allows you to vote on the yield's distribution. And the winners of the Turn get more votes. 🌱

Griffon Regen Summer Camp ⛺

Location: L'arbre qui pousse Ottignies, Beligum

The camp centers around the practice of intentional community living. For one or two weeks we live, work, play, build, create, relax, and learn together based on the principles of care and respect for ourselves, the land, the community around us, and for the planet.  We create an experience that finds the balance between relaxing, spending time with (new) friends and family, connecting to the land, and nourishing our mind and body.

The goal of this summer camp is:

• To reconnect, with ourselves, with the people around us, and with the land

• To learn from each other and embrace the diversity in all of us

• To regenerate and experience the rejuvenating power of living in an intentional community

A Regenerative Solution for Sustainable Power Generation Explored at F4E Contracting Professionals Roundtable

The 2nd edition of the Fusion for Energy Contracting Professionals Roundtable, an event held in Cadarache, France, from June 26 to 28, 2023. Organised in collaboration with the International Nuclear Law Association (INLA) and the ITER Organisation, this roundtable brought together over 300 experts from more than 20 countries.

Fusion energy holds significant promise as a regenerative energy source for the future. Fusion reactions, which can produce abundant energy without greenhouse gas emissions or long-lived radioactive waste, align with the principles of regeneration and sustainability.

In the context of renewable energy sources, fusion energy offers the potential for long-term energy generation, contributing to the regeneration of our planet's resources. The discussions at the F4E Contracting Professionals Roundtable, while focused on the legal and regulatory aspects of fusion energy projects, underscored the importance of global collaboration and accelerating the development of fusion technology. By advancing fusion energy for peaceful purposes, we can embrace a regenerative energy solution that addresses both our energy needs and environmental challenges

Gitcoin Beta Round has started! 👀

We are thrilled to announce that our grant is approved and live for this Gitcoin Beta Round!

One important note! We've moved our grant from the Climate round to the Community & Education round.

With a track record of bringing together thinkers and doers from various sectors, Regens Unite wants to continue creating intentional spaces for learning, collaboration, and unification to drive forward global solutions. The new Community & Education round felt like a better fit for our focus.

Regens Unite recently hosted an inspiring retreat called the Blissness Regen Retreat, which explored the values that drive our businesses and how they impact the world around us. The retreat was held in an ecovillage in the South of Belgium, surrounded by nature, and provided a perfect backdrop for participants to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with themselves.

By bringing together like-minded individuals and fostering a sense of community, we created a space for people to work towards a more regenerative future.

The Turn: Tend Spring 2023

On April 22nd we celebrated Earth Day. There were some incredible events taking place all over the world! 🌎

Our very own Jeremy Akers and Laurence hosted an event called The Tend which took place across Amsterdam, Brussels, and Berlin. To take part, a group of Regens in each city created seed bombs, dispersed them, and then played a regenerative card game!

It was super successful and a fun day for family and friends to get involved.

Gitcoin CoordiNATION

ReFi DAO, Regens Unite, Greenpill Global, & Metacrisis.xyz are hosting a four-day coordiNATION game to combine efforts and amplify impact during the Gitcoin Beta grants round. On May 2nd, the first Gitcoin coordiNATION game took place in digital form where representatives from all four orgs came together in a 2-hour Twitter Space to hold space for a community discussion around Gitcoin fundraising.

ReFi DAO Local Node 📍

ReFi DAO has recently announced their mission to regenerate the earth and create a global regenerative economy rooted in local startup cities all over the world. How cool is that?

And, they're wasting no time in getting started! They've partnered up with Commons Stack to launch a prize to incubate the first ReFi DAO Local Node in the Global South. The first Local Node will be ReFi Lisboa, which will build a micro-regenerative economy in Lisbon by acquiring land and developing regenerative projects.

But, that's not all! By onboarding new talent and capital into the ReFi movement, Local Nodes can expand the reach of the regenerative economy and accelerate its growth. All of this was capped off with a 5-day finale on the beautiful beaches of Gokarna, India! The well-rounded program held space for hackathons, workshops, music, food, celebration and new connections.

Congrats to ReFi India, Phoenix Guild, and Atlantis DAO for their incredible work! It's fantastic to see more and more ReFi events taking place all over the world, helping to spread the word about this movement. We're so grateful for their efforts, and the entire community appreciates their hard work and dedication. Together, we can make a real difference in regenerating our planet! 🌍
