Last week, we successfully minted our Lil Skulls collection, a series of 6,666 unique and vibrant pixel art NFTs 🎉

Lil Skulls will serve as the primary and brand-defining PFP collection of the RektSkulls ecosystem. Our project has complex mechanics, including staking of Essences, REKT token, auctions, and more. Lil Skulls are designed to provide a simple and accessible entry point into the RektSkulls project, offering something more familiar to the NFT community.

With Lil Skulls, we aim to emphasize two key aspects:

1. From the perspective of art and brand identity, we believe that Lil Skulls will distinguish themselves from the recent influx of low-quality pixel art collections in NFT space, potentially evolving into an iconic and classic staple within the realm of pixel art PFPs.

2. We intend to support Lil Skulls holders with diverse utilities, linked to our upcoming game and future game-related collection drops. Our goal is to promote the strategy of "simply hold and enjoy benefits". For those interested in more complex opportunities, we recommend looking into REKT token and staking, as all elements of our project will be closely tied to the future game.

The reveal of Lil Skulls represents our next major milestone, planned for May 18th at 5 pm UTC. Remember, 66 Lil Skulls will be rewarded with ETH, so if you wish to prevent your prize-earning skull from being sniped, please remove it from listings.

Genesis Skulls:

The auctions for the first 20 Genesis Skulls are drawing to a close. We extend our congratulations to all the winners. Below, you'll find the Genesis Skulls that were minted over the past few weeks:

Only one Genesis Skull remains to be minted from the initial set of 20. After this, the remaining 46 Genesis Skulls will be minted over a span of 46 weeks. We won't start new auctions immediately, as we have been concentrating on our new Lil Skulls collection recently. The commencement of new auctions will be announced separately at a later date.

Dima's game development blog:

Welcome back to my game development blog. Now that we've completed all the game documentation and pre-production stages, we've embarked on the actual game development process.

I am working closely with the art director and illustrators on character and enemy models. We're beginning to draft initial versions of dungeons and environments. On the development front, we're rolling out early game builds and starting to test features like movement, targeting, and combat. The backend development is underway too, which includes the marketplace system, chat system, trading system, leaderboard, and the underlying database infrastructure for these game elements.

I find immense joy in directing and being deeply involved in all aspects of game development. I hope that my vision and attention to detail will culminate in an excellent gaming experience.

Stay tuned for more information about our game studio. We'll be making a separate announcement about it this week.

Project updates:

First and foremost, congratulations to the latest winners of our Genesis Skull auctions! Last week, two new skulls found their owners with impressive final bids.

Not everything goes smoothly and as planned, we experienced a setback last week when one of our biggest liquidity providers for the REKT token left the pool and liquidated his position. This led to a depreciation of the REKT token price. However, on the positive side, he has sold almost all of his tokens and there won't be another large actor that threatens the REKT token with such a big position. Considering the upcoming 20% rewards drop from staking, the extremely low market cap, and the strong burn mechanics, this may present a nice entry point into REKT token. However, please note that this is not financial advice, just an observation of the current market conditions and REKT tokenomics.

Regrettably, we have encountered another setback, as OpenSea has temporarily disabled trading for our Essences utility collection. This may be due to a reporting error or a mention of staking and token in the description. Rest assured, we are in contact with OpenSea to resolve this issue.

The Society of Celestial Scholars appears, on the surface, to be a group of devoted scientists and scholars dedicated to unraveling the laws of nature and mysteries of the universe through celestial movements. Within society, there are different "schools" of thought, each with its own approach to studying the cosmos and the world around them. The two most prominent and respected schools within the society are the "Arcane Astronomers" and the "Technomancers”. These varying schools coexist harmoniously within society, each contributing to the facade of genuine scientific research.

The society's facilities are filled with complex technical and magical instruments designed to observe the sky and make intricate calculations. Technomancers possess a steam-powered computation machine that they claim can predict events based on input data. While Arcane Astronomers boasts a massive, magically-powered telescope for researching star patterns. Despite their questionable methods, they have managed to maintain an air of legitimacy.

While society has achieved an impressive level of technology and magic, in reality, they are pseudo-scientists, as their primary goals and research are based on astrology. Nevertheless, they have managed to convince many that they are legitimate scientists and that their society resembles a prestigious scientific organization.

The scholars will go to great lengths and employ any means necessary to protect their legitimacy if someone starts to question it. Despite their questionable practices, the Society of Celestial Scholars remains a respected organization, and its members are committed to maintaining the illusion of their scholarly pursuits.

Within the Society of Celestial Scholars, several notable figures stand out, each contributing to the organization's esteemed reputation and maintaining the facade of genuine scientific research:

Grand Astronomer Celestia: As the head of the society, Grand Astronomer Celestia is a charismatic figure with a passion for celestial studies. She is an expert in navigating the complex politics of society's various schools of thought and is renowned for her ability to inspire and unite members under a common goal.

The Syndicate of the Shadow Eclipse is a secret organization led by a mysterious figure known only as the Master. Rumors of interactions with the Master circulate among the group's leaders, but no one knows for sure if this elusive figure truly exists. Governed by the Shadow Council, a group of influential members skilled in sabotage, assassination, and manipulation, the Syndicate is built on a foundation of pragmatism and the anticipation of the end of the world.

One of the most notorious members of the Shadow Council is the Night Stalker, a feared assassin known for carrying out high-profile hits with chilling precision. Swift and silent, the Night Stalker is the Syndicate's ultimate weapon for eliminating threats and maintaining their influence.
Another influential figure is the Whisperer, a master of deception and manipulation. The Whisperer is responsible for gathering intelligence, orchestrating sabotage, and causing general chaos among the Syndicate's enemies. With a silver tongue and an unparalleled ability to blend in, the Whisperer is a constant source of misinformation and confusion.

The Syndicate firmly believes that a cataclysmic event will occur naturally and inevitably. This conviction drives their philosophy that they can do whatever they want without moral obligations. Consequently, the group is comprised of criminals, thieves, assassins, and others who thrive in a world without moral constraints.

Despite their lack of moral compass, the Syndicate operates under a strict hierarchy and follows a rigid code of conduct to maintain order within their ranks. Their hideouts and underground facilities are scattered across the land, hidden from prying eyes by their secret symbol – the Eclipse Serpent. Only those familiar with this symbol can discern the presence of a Syndicate hideout nearby.
The Syndicate of the Shadow Eclipse boasts a formidable Alchemy Wing, where skilled alchemists work tirelessly to develop powerful potions and poisons. Their crowning achievement is the Shapeshift Potion, a rare and highly coveted elixir that grants its user the ability to transform into a terrifying beast. This creature possesses bat-like wings, powerful claws and paws, and a fearsome jaw filled with sharp teeth – an unholy amalgamation of a beast and a vampire.

This Shapeshift Potion is reserved exclusively for the Syndicate's most loyal members, including its leaders and lieutenants. The potion has instilled a deep-seated fear among the people, who have come to believe that the Syndicate is a den of vampires and monstrous creatures. This reputation only serves to further the group's sinister agenda, as fear and chaos become powerful tools in their quest for power and control.

A prominent figure in the Syndicate is the Grand Alchemist, the brilliant mind behind the creation of the Shapeshift Potion and the leader of the Alchemy Wing. Under their guidance, the Alchemy Wing has achieved remarkable breakthroughs in the field of alchemy, and their creations have become integral to the Syndicate's operations. The Grand Alchemist is highly respected within the organization, and their expertise is critical in maintaining the Syndicate's grip on power.

As the Syndicate of the Shadow Eclipse continues to grow in power and influence, their network of hideouts and underground facilities expands, allowing them to maintain a pervasive presence throughout the realm. Cult of the Ever-Rising Sun

The Cult of the Ever-Rising Sun is a group of fanatical extremists, blinded by their faith in eternal growth and prosperity. They worship the God of the Ever-Rising Sun, who they believe embodies abundance and success. Their devotion knows no bounds, as they engage in dark and sinister practices to achieve their goals of never-ending growth. They kidnap people, force their religious views upon others, and maintain a fanatical army, complete with a formidable squad of elite monks.

Led by the charismatic Prophet of the Ever-Rising Sun, who claims divine revelations from their god, the cultists concoct elaborate schemes to manipulate trade and engage in insider dealings. The Prophet, a master manipulator, uses his charm to sway the masses while hiding his true intentions.

Another prominent figure in the cult is the Commander of the Solar Brigade, a fearsome leader of the cult's army. Ruthless and cunning, the Commander is responsible for enforcing the cult's beliefs through brute force and ensuring the cult's dominance. Under the Commander's guidance, the Solar Brigade has become a force to be reckoned with, instilling fear in the hearts of those who dare to oppose the cult.

The cult also has a High Priestess, who oversees the indoctrination and recruitment of new followers. The High Priestess ensures that the cult's message is spread far and wide and that its teachings infiltrate every corner of society. A skilled orator, she can twist the most mundane events into signs of the Ever-Rising Sun's favor, further solidifying the cult's grip on its followers.
Despite their outward appearance of piety, the cult's leadership is steeped in corruption. They extort money from the poor, accumulating vulgar wealth while their followers live in poverty. Their unquenchable thirst for power has led them to commit unspeakable acts.

They believe that through their devotion and offerings to the Ever-Rising Sun, they can achieve never-ending wealth. Their ultimate goal is to perform an ancient and divine ritual known as the Rite of the Ascending Dawn, which, if successful, will open the gates to an age of boundless prosperity, where the economy thrives indefinitely, and wealth is abundant for all who serve the Ever-Rising Sun.

In their quest to perform the Rite of the Ascending Dawn, the Cult is in search of a legendary artifact called the Sun's Eye, which is said to harness the power of the sun and channel it into the ritual. As the Cult grows more desperate to find the Sun's Eye, their methods become increasingly ruthless, and they will stop at nothing to see their vision realized.

With each passing day, the Cult's search for the Sun's Eye intensifies, and their grip on the world tightens. As their influence grows, so too does the chaos and destruction they leave in their wake. Their relentless pursuit of the artifact and the completion of the Rite of the Ascending Dawn could very well bring about an era of unparalleled prosperity, or it may lead to the ultimate downfall of all who dare to stand in their way.

The Problems with P2E Models

Over the past few years, the emergence of play-to-earn (P2E) games has captured the interest of many gamers and investors. While these games offer financial rewards, they often suffer from a number of issues that undermine their long-term sustainability and joy for players.

One of the primary concerns with P2E models is their need for a constant inflow of new players to maintain the value of the in-game tokens. This creates an unreliable economic environment that can lead to a collapse if the inflow of players decreases or too many players decide to cash out their earnings. Additionally, these models often involve continuous token emissions to incentivize players, which causes inflation and token devaluation.

Let's look at the main issues of P2E model:

• Ponzi-like characteristics: P2E games depend on a constant inflow of new players to maintain token value, creating an unreliable economic environment with a high risk to collapse.

• Unsustainable token emission: P2E games must continuously emit new tokens to maintain player interest, leading to inflation and eventual token devaluation.

• Bots and multi-accounting: P2E games incentivize the use of bots and the creation of multiple accounts, which lead to a less enjoyable experience for legitimate players and contribute to the system's collapse.

• Low game design: P2E games often prioritize their token economy over gameplay, leading to unengaging and poorly designed experiences that don't retain players in the long run.

RektSkulls' C2E Breakthrough

RektSkulls offers an innovative C2E gaming model, solving the problematics of P2E mechanics and adopting a subscription-based approach where players deposit their in-game currency - REKT tokens, to access the game. The team drew inspiration from popular games, specifically poker, a highly monetized competitive game.

In poker, players deposit money, and depending on their skill level, they maintain their deposit and continue playing (if average), increase their deposit (if skilled), or lose it (if inexperienced). Similarly, in RektSkulls, players deposit REKT tokens to access PvE levels or PvP matches. While playing, REKT tokens are taken from their balance and added to a weekly REKT pool. As players progress through PvE and PvP, they climb the leaderboards. At the week's end, the pool of REKT tokens is redistributed among leaderboard participants based on their performance. Committed players will gain profit, players with average results keep their subscription fees, others will be able to perform better next time.

This system creates a competitive environment and a strong token economy with no need to mint new tokens or create additional in-game currencies. It also rises the value of in-game drops as players are more committed, investing both REKT tokens and time. Alongside the flow of REKT tokens in the game economy, armor, gear, and other items can be obtained as loot and traded in the in-game market, further stimulating liquidity and token demand.

The deflationary nature of REKT tokens, combined with solid burn mechanics, well-planned tokenomics, no pre-sales or team tokens, and a linear, predictable emission, - provides a stable and liquid in-game economy for players to enjoy.

Summarizing the Benefits of the C2E Model:

• Increased commitment: The subscription model encourages players to value their time spent in-game and the items they obtain.

• Competitive elements: RektSkulls features both player-versus-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) elements, fostering a competitive atmosphere and rewarding players based on their performance.

• Bot prevention: Subscription models help guarantee that bots cannot abuse the game and ruin its economy, as only genuine players invest upfront.

• Higher value and healthier trading: The subscription model raises the value of in-game items and promotes a healthier trading environment.

• Limited token supply and strong burn mechanics: REKT tokens have a capped supply, emitted through a staking system over two years. Coupled with token burn mechanics, this creates a more stable in-game economy and maintains token value.

The Long-Term Benefits of C2E and RektSkulls

While P2E games may seem more appealing initially due to their promise of quick cash, RektSkulls' C2E model offers long-term economic benefits for dedicated players. Last week's highlights were undoubtedly the Genesis Skulls auctions, where winning bids reached an astounding 212,241 and an even more impressive 510,000 REKT tokens. This means that 0.7% of the total REKT token supply has been removed from circulation forever.

As of now, 7,070,060 REKT tokens have been burned, leaving only 8,263,464 REKT tokens in circulating supply. It's quite impressive to see that the amount of burned tokens is almost equal to the circulating supply, which certainly paints a bullish picture for the future.

Introducing "HalfRekt," an NFT inspired by the legendary crypto meme born from the Eminence smart contract exploit.

Among them were the Makers, an ancient magical race known for their immense wealth, nobility, and unparalleled mastery of magic. They were the architects of the world's prosperity, using their arcane knowledge to shape the lands, construct magnificent cities, and maintain harmony among the diverse races inhabiting the realm. Little did they know that their pursuit of knowledge would soon put the "break" in Unbreakia.

Driven by their relentless pursuit of knowledge and power, the Makers discovered a source of infinite magical energy. They believed this discovery would bring an era of unprecedented prosperity and advancement, so they sought to harness its power for Unbreakia's betterment. However, their arrogance and lack of foresight led to their downfall.

The game takes place in one of these shattered worlds, on a large and mysterious continent called Halvedar. The Halving forever altered the landscape, and knowledge of other lands, if any, has been lost to time.

In this vibrant world, players will take on the role of the Rekt, a once-great race reduced to sentient, living skeletons following the cataclysmic event. They have forgotten who they were before the Halving, and lost their knowledge, but still wield superhuman strength and powerful magic. It is up to the player to uncover the mysteries of the Rekt race and embark on an adventure to discover the world and its secrets.

In addition to the Rekt, the realm is populated with a diverse cast of races, factions, and dangerous enemies, such as orcs, goblins, dragons, and magical beasts, evoking the rich tapestry of classic fantasy stories.

In this episode of the dev blog, I'd like to share my thoughts and ideas on the fundamental aspects of character and class design, focusing on character gameplay and progression in the RektSkulls game. Here are some key concepts I have considered while developing the character design:

1. Non-transferable characters: Characters should be deeply personal and non-transferable. Players should feel a strong emotional connection to their characters and experience the impact of their progression. Allowing characters to be bought and sold undermines this connection.

2. Item importance: As a player-driven, blockchain-powered game, it's crucial that users have valuable items to trade. This means character items and gear should play a central role in gameplay and character design.

3. Balanced gameplay complexity: While we don't aim to create overly complex talent trees or provide each class with an excessive number of skills, we do want to offer a satisfying level of variability for engaging gameplay. Players should have the freedom to experiment with character builds while still enjoying an easily understandable system.

4. Easy replayability: Many games struggle with making it easy for players to try new classes and builds. Often, this requires creating new characters and repeating quests, farming items, or gaining a reputation, which can be time-consuming and frustrating. Our goal is to provide players with easier access to new builds and classes, ensuring a more varied and enjoyable gameplay experience.

Taking the aforementioned thoughts into account, I arrived at the concept of "you are what you wear," which has been implemented in some existing multiplayer games, such as Albion Online. This idea implies that a character's class, or "specialization," is determined by the weapon they wield. For example, wielding two-handed weapons like swords, axes, or hammers activates one specialization, while wielding staves or magic swords activates another. The weapon type (two-handed sword vs two-handed hammer) also influences the gameplay style.

In addition to activating a specialization, the weapons provide skills embedded within them. Players can access a limited number of skills from their weapon (e.g., two), but they can swap these out for other skills available to that specific specialization or weapon type. As players progress through the game - they level up a particular specialization and corresponding character stats, but they can switch to a different one without losing progress on the previous one.

Armor also plays a significant role in specializations build, with three armor types available: plate, leather, and cloth. Each armor type offers a complementary set of passive and active skills that align with a corresponding specialization. However, players are not restricted to traditional class designs, allowing for unconventional builds such as a leather-armored character wielding a two-handed hammer or a cloth-armored character with a shield and mace.

In addition to the systems and mechanics described above, there will be other elements that players can utilize to further customize their builds and enhance their gear, promoting uniqueness and variety in character development.

As part of my ongoing journey to unlock the magic of game development and design, I've been hard at work this week putting together a detailed overview of our character, classes, itemization system, skills, and gear upgrade design. The result is a 20-page document that I'm now partnering with game design experts to shape into a more professional format, ensuring we have a solid foundation for the development process once we hire a game design studio.

My next focus will be on outlining the world concept and different interaction processes, such as trade, crafting, enchantments, PvP, and PvE mechanics.

We're continuing to interview game dev studios every day and are gaining a better understanding of what we need and the challenges we'll face. The good news is that the feedback we've received so far suggests that our planned game can be developed relatively "quickly" and won't take years to complete.

As promised, I'd like to share some details about the initial world design of the RektSkulls game. To ensure we can deliver the game as quickly as possible without getting bogged down in development, we'll be starting with a scaled-down version of the world. This will consist of three parts: a community HUB (city area) where players can interact with each other and with various in-game NPCs; PvP areas where players can engage in 1v1 or team battles; and PvE areas where players can clear levels and face waves of mobs and bosses either solo or in groups with other players. Both PvE and PvP content will be competitive, with weekly prizes for top performers.

While this may disappoint some players who were hoping for a big open world at the outset (though we do plan to expand the game to a full-scale MMORPG later), we're confident that our focus on delivering a purely fun experience in the shortest time possible will pay off in the end.

I wanted to update you on the game development side of our project. Since deciding to start game development, I've been searching for a game developer or studio to hire. Currently, I'm in the process of going through candidates and conducting interviews.

I'm also working with hired specialists to finalize a detailed game design document for future development and collaborating with a game pixel artist on character concepts.

In each episode of the Weekly Grail, I'll be sharing some tidbits about the future game. This time, I want to discuss the high-level concept of in-game economy and token integration.

I'm firmly against the pay-to-earn (P2E) concept, which often relies on printing new tokens for player rewards, leading to constant pressure on token prices and demotivating players with lower and lower rewards. Instead, I've been thinking about popular games in the broadest sense, and I keep coming back to poker as one of the most popular monetized competitive games.

In poker, players deposit a certain amount of money and then, depending on their skill level, they either keep the same deposit and continue playing (if they're average), increase their deposit if they're skilled, or eventually lose their deposit if they're inexperienced.

In our game, players will deposit REKT tokens to play PvP matches or clear PvE levels. As players play the game - REKT tokens will be deducted from their balance and go into a weekly REKT pool. Progressing in PvP and PvE, they'll receive "lesser essences" (name to be finalized) as drops, which can be staked. At the end of the week, all REKT tokens in the pool will be redistributed to those who staked their lesser essences. The rewards will be based on performance, with winners receiving more lesser essences and bigger REKT rewards from the pool. It means that if you are actually good at the game (or lucky) - you can earn more than you have deposited, if you are average - you can keep playing with your initial deposit, if you are less skilled than an average player - you will need to top-up your REKT balance, similar to the subscription model.

This system will create an exciting and competitive environment and a healthy token economy that doesn't require printing new tokens or creating another in-game currency in order to reward players.

Of course, there will also be a drop of items, gear, and upgrades that can be traded on the in-game market, further boosting liquidity and demand for the token (or your earnings). Gearing will be a defining aspect of character-building, but we'll cover that in another episode.

Last week, we launched the Mystery Cards mechanic, and we were thrilled with the response from the community.

After four days, some stats include 2,847,000 REKT tokens burned (30% of circulating supply) and 290 Essences minted, with almost all of them staked. This makes REKT a truly deflationary token. Moreover, our upcoming releases, such as Genesis Skulls, Genesis Skulls Forks, and a new NFT collection, will all include aggressive burn mechanics for both the REKT token and Essences.

Genesis Skulls

Genesis Skulls are the most precious elements of the RektSkulls universe. They are 66 unique animated PFP NFTs that are distributed through auctions with bids only in REKT tokens. Genesis Skulls, when revealed and staked, produce Mystery Cards as staking rewards. In addition to these economic benefits, they grant players exclusive cosmetics and in-game powers.

Genesis Skulls Forks

Genesis Skulls Forks are more affordable and less exclusive versions of Genesis Skulls. They will be obtainable through the burning of REKT tokens and Essences. They will also have staking mechanics, though less powerful than in Genesis Skulls. And of course, they will have special in-game powers.

We're proud to be a 100% self-funded project that doesn't rely on VC funding, pre-sales in ETH, or any other means of attracting capital. In this sense, we're more like an "Indie" project.

VC funding is an effective narrative for projects to gain immediate hype and recognition, as well as funding for development. However, this also means that the VC has bought equity (if we speak about the NFT space) and will likely force the project to extract value from its holders (who might be better-called clients). Also, projects that already have funding are less incentivized to constantly release content and keep their ecosystem active. They often remain silent for months and years, with few releases for their community.

Our vision is fundamentally different. We want our holders (of Essences/Genesis Skulls or REKT token) to become the underlying economic layer of our ecosystem, like miners and node runners in the blockchain. This way, they will benefit from all upcoming releases.

Although we have an ambitious goal of raising $2M to start game development, we have already begun the process. While we can't provide any details or a timeline just yet, we want to assure you that we're working on multiple elements behind the scenes that will help secure the short-term, mid-term, and long-term future of RektSkulls.

We've been working tirelessly on our latest release - the Mystery Cards mechanic, and let us tell you, it's going to be legendary! Unfortunately, we faced some technical difficulties that delayed the release.

Although the Mystery Cards mechanic may seem simple on the surface, it required extensive development work to be implemented correctly. Our team had to set up various complex processes under the hood, and our existing smart contracts had to be rewritten to ensure that the mechanic works smoothly and efficiently. However, we are hoping to finalize the development and launch it within the next two days.

Last week was a milestone for the RektSkulls project as we launched the second main element of our ecosystem, the REKT token.

The entire REKT token supply can only be obtained through staking Essences and LP tokens. The rewards distribution will last for 2 years, with a 20% reward drop every three months.

Staking Essences and LP tokens are now available on our dashboard at https://app.rektskulls.com/

The staking launch was successful with 86% of all Essences staked and steady growth of REKT liquidity. Staking APRs are also attractive, as detailed in the dedicated sections below.

We did not yet implement our project's "funds earning" mechanism, which implies that we should sell all collected as fee REKT. Instead, we will use collected REKT and ETH from royalties to support liquidity. All team-added liquidity will be sent to the Null Address and locked permanently.

Today, 27,354 REKT + 0.48 ETH were added to the liquidity and locked/burned forever. Additionally, the founder bought and burned 20,000 REKT tokens.

We anticipate organic demand for the REKT token closer to the Genesis Skulls auctions start, but we are also working on marketing efforts to increase token recognition.

REKT token emission and staking specifics

The REKT token emission and staking specifics are as follows: In traditional NFT staking systems, each NFT generates a fixed amount of token rewards. However, with RektSkulls, staked NFTs share rewards proportionally based on their staking power. This is the classic approach that most DeFi staking systems follow.

When fewer NFTs are staked, each NFT generates more rewards, providing a linear and predictable token emission. In contrast, emission from regular NFT staking systems can be unpredictable and volatile depending on the number of staked NFTs.

The RektSkulls staking program is designed for 2 years, and it has a "halving" mechanism where after a certain period of time, the daily emission drops. In this case, the daily emission drops by 20% every 3 months.

When the staking reward pool is emptied after 2 years, in-game mechanics will be activated to keep filling the reward pool and keep staking active as a fundamental part of the ecosystem.

How to stake Essences?

In order to stake you need to have Essences, you can get them on OpenSea.

There are four types of Essences with different rarity and staking power.

This means that one staked Fear Essence will bring you the same amount of rewards as four Greed Essences (or two Toxic Essences, etc.). The number of your daily reward will not be static and will depend on the total amount of Essences staked in the smart contract.

In the first three months, the daily reward pool (daily emission from staking) for all staked Essences will be approximately 213,000 REKT tokens.

For example: if there are overall 200 Greed Essences staked in the smart contract - each essence will produce 1,065 REKT tokens from staking rewards; if there are 400 Greed Essences staked - each essence will produce two times lower - 532.5 REKT.

Step by step Essences staking guide:

1. Navigate to app.rektskulls.com, select Essences Staking tab (which will be available shortly before Essences deposits period starts) and connect your wallet to the Ethereum network, press "Stake" and select how many Essences you want to stake (multiple amounts of Essences can be staked with one transaction)

   

2. Press "Approve" (this is a one-time transaction, where you give permission for our platform to interact with your Essences), wait for the transaction to pass, and press "Stake"

   

3. All staked Essences will be shown in the UI, you will start getting rewards instantly, rewards are accumulated every second. You can "Claim rewards" at any time or "Add to Stake"/"Unstake". Note, that unstaking or adding more essences to stake - will automatically claim your rewards in the same transaction

   

   LP Staking

   

   As for LP Staking, there will be no guide on how to use it or provide liquidity. If you don't know how AMM works, and what impermanent loss is and you have no experience, you will most likely lose money.

   LP Staking will be available for Uniswap V2 REKT/ETH LP tokens, and rewards can be claimed at any time without lock-ups.

Even though RektSkulls is positioned as an NFT project and targets NFT/GameFi community - it launches as a ready-made utility NFTs + Token ecosystem, with GameFi and DeFi elements, such as multi-level staking and in-house auctions system.

There are three main elements of the initial ecosystem:

1. Genesis Skulls

Unique 1/1 animated PFPs, drawn by the founder of the project - readydegen1.eth (as well as all other visual elements of the project at this stage). Skulls are inspired by crypto narratives, pop culture, and games.

Each skull will have some unique plot behind it and unique animations. We really hate when NFT projects put their collections together from a set of meaningless, not connected between each other traits, and as the end result they get a monkey in a Hawaii shirt, holding a bazooka and wearing a medieval helmet (any resemblance to real NFTs, living or slow rugged, is purely coincidental).

From an utility perspective Genesis Skulls will be one the most important parts of the RektSkulls ecosystem, as the only source of essences emission - utility NFTs that will be covered next.

2. Essences

Essences are the main resource of the RektSkulls project. They are utility NFTs with a maximum supply of 10k.

There are 4 types of essences, with different chances of minting and different staking power.

The main mechanics - requires essences to be burned, thus, along with staking, creating a constant demand for them.

3. $REKT token

The native token is the key part of the RektSkulls ecosystem; every product, service, and mechanic within it is paid for by utilizing $REKT tokens. It will also serve as a currency in the coming game.

95% of token supply will be released through the staking of Essences and LP tokens. 5% of token supply will be allocated for initial in-game liquidity.

We believe that allocating huge amounts of tokens to Team/Advisors/Ecosystem fund/etc. creates constant psychological (and selling) pressure on token whilst it also artificially inflates FDV.

Instead of allocating a big part of the supply for ourselves - we will have a token tax mechanic, that will provide funds flow from ecosystem activity.

This is the only source of funds and this puts us in a position where we need to always support demand for the token.

We will remove token tax for our internal ecosystem mechanics, such as participation in auctions or secondary collection drops.

Why are we launching RektSkulls?

The product/ecosystem that we are initially launching is just an initial stage of our project. Our first big goal is to earn enough funding to start the development of an MMORPG.

We are not going to reinvent the bicycle or disrupt the world of gaming, we are aiming for a classic MMORPG gaming experience powered by the blockchain-based player-owned economy with DeFi elements.

It will be a visually simple but stylish top-down pixel MMORPG. Instead of promising AAA-level game (and “never” delivering), we will focus on the gameplay and economics part. We believe that at this point in time, the space doesn't need an innovative product; it needs a simple game that plays well and is fun.

However, you have already seen dozens of similar promises, so what makes our project unique and why should you believe our promises?

We are trying to apply the fair approach to fundraising (as well as to every aspect of our project development). In fact, we are not doing any fundraises or paid mints. We don't allocate part of the token or NFT supply for ourselves. Our only source of funding is ecosystem activity, through the token tax mechanic.

For this reason, we are launching a ready-made ecosystem (we call it “degenomics sandbox”, and at the first stage it is totally blockchain/DeFi based), with interesting mechanics that you can interact with whilst we gradually release new mechanics and events to maintain community interest and a smooth transition between a blockchain-based economy and a game-based economy.

We believe that raising money through NFT sales (or through VCs) and then leaving the community without any utilities and mechanics to interact with for months/years of game development is really bad practice.

I’ve been in the crypto space since 2017 and I have seen crypto from different sides: as an investor/degen, as part of a crypto incubator with a turnover of hundreds of projects, and as part of a project with its own product and token. I have seen how shady this space can be, how unfair projects are to their holders/community, and how business interests can be opposite to community interests. Royalties drama, buyback and burn of $REKT tokens

Royalties are the topic that worries Crypto Twitter a lot lately. We share the idea that royalties are a cool and important mechanic, but it is also obvious that rational actors will keep trying to trade without royalties and more and more services will appear that provide such option.

That’s why we are not relying on royalties as part of the funds' flow; we will set royalties to up to 2.5% (just to match OpenSea's fee) and will use all collected funds to support our ecosystem. This will happen through buybacks of $REKT tokens, burning of supply, or adding liquidity (we are considering which approach is better for the ecosystem).

How are we going to launch?

First, the purely blockchain-based stage of RektSkulls will be launched in the following order:

1. Freemint of 1,000 essences - the majority of the whitelist spots are distributed through collaborations with top-tier projects, alpha groups, and influencers. The rest of the whitelist supply will be distributed through the hand-picking of active community members and supporters, as well as through different community-based activities.

2. Staking of essences and emission of $REKT token will start approximately one week after drop.

3. Staking of liquidity tokens will start a few days after that. Initial price discovery of $REKT token will happen.

4. Then auctions of the first 20 Genesis Skulls will start. Auctions will run for 40 days (2 days per one auction).

5. The first skull reveal will happen, and skulls staking will start along with the weekly emission of new essences.

6. After the initial 20 auctions, the next 46 skulls will be distributed through bi-weekly auctions (2 skulls each two weeks). This means that all 66 Genesis Skulls will be distributed over one year.

7. Additional mechanics will be launched in a couple of months after the start, such as Skull Forking and the drop of the first secondary collection through the Break of the Grand Seal event, where users will need to burn essences to unlock the drop and get profits from the sale of secondary collections.

8. Additional complementary mechanics will be introduced to build the brand and a strong community.
