What are the benefits of LXP?

Voyage XP do not have any monetary value. Be cautious of scams: Voyage XP are non-transferable and not bridgeable to other networks. You cannot buy, sell, or swap them, nor can you accumulate them by transferring them from another wallet account.

Apart from being a measure of contribution to building Linea into a robust and secure L2 network, Voyage XP will also make owners eligible for benefits such as receiving official community roles, exclusive Linea swag, and more.

How do I claim my LXP?

Linea launched LXP alongside the ongoing DeFi Voyage.

While the DeFi Voyage is hosted on Intract, Voyagers must note that the XP shown on the Intract platform is a representation of Voyage XP. These XP collected by users and shown on Intract will be available for users to claim only after they successfully execute the Proof of Humanity (PoH) attestation through Verax.

The Linea team will retroactively allocate Voyage XP to users and dapps that participated in our prior two Voyages: the Testnet Voyage and the Entertainment Festival. The retroactive issuance will be tied to cryptographic evidence of these commitments, such as the Whitelist, Voyage NFT, Linea Gas Passes or Discord Roles obtained from these activations.

Is LXP different from Intract XP?

Yes. While the DeFi Voyage will be hosted on Intract, Voyagers must note that the XP shown on the Intract platform is a representation of Voyage XP. These XP collected by users and shown on Intract will be available for users to claim only after they successfully execute the Proof of Humanity (PoH) attestation through Verax.

Where will I be able to see my LXP?

​​After the successful presentation of PoH, Linea Voyage XP (or LXP) may be claimed.

Your LXP will be visible by default in the MetaMask wallet account which you have been using across Linea Voyage activations. More on this in the wallet account management section.

Proof of Humanity (PoH) and Wallet Account Management

Note: Voyage XP are NON-TRANSFERABLE. This means that once XP are collected in a wallet account, they cannot be moved. It is therefore crucial to accumulate Voyage XP in one account throughout the Linea Voyage to accurately measure your contribution to the growth of the Linea network.

How does PoH work?

Voyage XP can only be minted on accounts that can prove human ownership. This is typically done by examining your account’s historical data across multiple chains.

Users will then be able to carry out the PoH process through any of their preferred identity partners through the PoH Wave Page on the DeFi Voyage.

How do I carry out my PoH for the Linea DeFi Voyage?

To carry out PoH for DeFi Voyage, you must get on-chain attestations from available partners. Available partners can be viewed directly on the DeFi Voyage PoH Wave Page. More specifically, you will need to obtain:

• One valid attestation from a Group A provider of your choice

• Two valid attestations from a Group B provider of your choice

What are Group A and Group B in the context of PoH providers?

Group A are high assurance PoH attestation providers, meaning their methods are highly resistant to bots and sybils. Group B comprises methods that give lower assurance of humanity, allowing users to prove things like owning a Twitter account or having a certain amount of activity on GitHub.

I have obtained my attestations. What do I do now?

If you have already obtained your attestations, visit the DeFi Voyage PoH Wave Page, click “Complete your Verax verification” and then “Start verification”. Allow up to 60 minutes for verification to be performed.

How can I ensure PoH success?

If you engage with the Linea Voyage using a new account, distinguishing your activity from that of a bot will be challenging, making Proof of Humanity more complex.

We recommend designating your main account as the “primary account” for the Linea Voyage, and accumulating your Voyage XP there. This approach simplifies the PoH process and offers the best user experience.

We understand that using your primary account may not always be practical or secure. Therefore, the Linea team developed a way to bind multiple accounts on linea.build.

How do I bind my accounts?

On linea.build, you should be able to connect and set up your primary account, which must pass PoH through the Verax registry, and then designate a series of ‘secondary accounts’. These are alternative accounts that you may use across activations. Once the accounts are bound, any XP intended for your secondary accounts will be minted on your primary account.

Before binding an account, however, it is important to note that binding is an irreversible action. Once a secondary account is bound, XP will automatically accumulate in your primary account and your secondary account moving forward will not collect any XP. So consider carefully before binding!

Once the accounts are bound, Voyagers are free to engage with activations using any wallet account, including those on embedded wallets.

Do I need to execute PoH before claiming XP?

Yes, PoH is a requisite for claiming or receiving XP. This protocol is integrated to ensure that genuine users receive the maximum long-term benefits associated with Linea Voyage XP.

Is there a limited time to execute PoH before XP is allocated?

XP distribution occurs on an ad hoc basis. Participants in the DeFi Voyage are required to complete PoH within the designated PoH wave timeframe, which extends from December 06 to December 19. This is crucial for ensuring that users have finalized the PoH process to claim and receive XP.

Note: Participants of previous activations, such as The Testnet Voyage and the Entertainment Festival, must adhere to specific guidelines related to PoH completion for those festivals.The goal is to PoH the wallet accounts, not to duplicate user tasks.

Do I need to execute PoH before binding accounts?

No, wallet account binding is a separate process aimed at allowing users with multiple accounts to accumulate XP efficiently. This process is independent of the PoH completion.

Do I need to complete wallet account binding before XP is allocated?

If you want XP accumulated in a secondary account, to be minted in your primary account, you have to complete the binding before the XP minting process starts for a specific activation. Otherwise your XP will be minted to your secondary account, assuming there's a valid proof of humanity linked to it.

Is there a limited time to bind accounts before XP is allocated?

Yes, once the minting process starts, XP will be assigned to whatever wallet participated in the activations, unless the account has been bound to a separate primary account. This means that users who want to mint XP on different (Primary) accounts than the one used to participate in the activations (Secondary), must bind wallet accounts before the minting process starts.

If I have passed PoH before, do I have to do it again?

No, once PoH is associated with a specific wallet account, it remains valid as long as you continue using that account. However, if you create and use a new account not linked to your main account, you will need to complete PoH again.

If I have passed PoH, do I need to pay a fee or execute activity to keep it updated?

No, there are no additional fees or specific activities required to maintain your PoH status. However, you must confirm these details with the attestation provider.

Can I complete PoH in any country? Are any countries excluded?

PoH completion depends on the attestors involved in the attestation process. While Verax acts merely as a registry for these attestations, the completion process is subject to the rules and regulations of the attestation partners, which may vary.

Will I need to provide ID for PoH? Will my personal data be made available on-chain? How will my data be kept safe and secure?

Direct personal information is not stored on-chain. It is crucial to verify the type of information retained in the registry with the attestation provider to ensure data security.

How important is Twitter for PoH? What if my Twitter has been hacked or banned?

The role of Twitter in the PoH process varies based on the specific attestation method chosen from a provider. If you lack access to a Twitter account required for a particular attestation, alternative options should be explored. There are various attestation methods available, and it's recommended to review the options provided by attestation providers to decide the best course of action for completing PoH.

What are sybil attacks? Will human verification prevent these?

In the context of our ecosystem and for this specific purpose, a Sybil attack refers to the misuse of automated bots (Sybils) to unjustly accumulate XP, detracting from the rewards intended for genuine users. Our objective is to maximize the XP distribution to real users who contribute to the growth of the Linea network. Human verification plays a critical role in this by ensuring that only authentic users benefit from the XP system, thereby preventing the prevalence of Sybil attacks.

How does human verification align with the principle of decentralization?

Decentralization manifests in various forms within our ecosystem. For our objectives, fostering a network dominated by authentic users is essential. Human verification is a pivotal step towards ensuring a robust user base that actively participates in and shapes the future of the Layer 2 (L2) and the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem. It is a foundational element in maintaining the integrity and growth of a decentralized network by validating real user engagement.

In response to an increasing demand for data ownership and heightened privacy, there arises a necessity for a conduit that facilitates the shift from closed platforms to a more open internet, and PADO aptly addresses this requirement. Diverging from conventional on-chain data practices, PADO introduces a secure and trustless method for transferring diverse data types to decentralized networks.

The Uniqueness of PADO

PADO empowers end users to verify the authenticity of data obtained through the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. As TLS is widely deployed across the internet, users can effectively validate various internet data. The innovative cryptographic protocol at the core of this mechanism is known as garble-then-prove, designed by the PADO cryptography team.

Leveraging multi-party computation (MPC) with state-of-the-art VOLE-based Interactive Zero-Knowledge Proofs (IZK), also developed by the PADO cryptography team, ensures the entire solution remains light enough to operate in browsers. The protocol also operates more than 10x faster than existing solutions.

PADO has also created a lightweight tool that lets users selectively disclose and prove any statement related to the authenticated data by incorporating popular zkSNARKs algorithms. For further details, please refer to our technical paper.

To enhance user experience and alleviate their computation burden, the PADO cryptography team is introducing an innovative Verifiable Outsourcing Computation Network by developing efficient zkFHE schemes. In this network, users have the capability to outsource private data encrypted under Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) schemes to trustless workers. These workers handle the computational tasks on the ciphertext and produce a succinct proof that allows anyone to verify the integrity of the computation. This novel protocol is expected to be much faster than the native combination of FHE and ZKVM, and is currently in active development by the PADO team.

PADO’s Use Cases

There are several potential applications for PADO. For instance, PADO is at the forefront of enhancing privacy and security by integrating its off-chain data hooks on Uniswap v4. These protocols typically involve establishing a compliant and institutional pool for users possessing verifiable physical identities, and the provision of a transaction fee discount for individuals with a trading history from centralized exchanges. These innovative combinations introduce a novel degree of customization and privacy to future DeFi protocols.

PADO can also be used by users concerned about privacy while engaging in social networking and gaming activities in web3. They can use PADO to safely share their behaviour data from the Steam platform, and to earn prop airdrops from GameFi projects without worrying about potential privacy leakage or misuse.

Finally, PADO’s zkAttestation technology allows real-world financial assets such as stocks, bonds, precious metals, and real estate to be encrypted and quantified for secure asset management and circulation of RWA assets on the smart contract layer.

An Exchange Like No Other: XFAI’s Unique Trading Approach

XFAI transforms traditional trading norms by introducing a double-weighted constant market maker design, eliminating the need for multiple token pairs.

When pools are created on XFAI, liquidity providers commit the primary token they want to supply and an equal value of ETH to be used as the balancing weight. The result is that liquidity for each token is concentrated into its own deep pool, resulting in more efficient swaps with minimal slippage, and eliminating liquidity fragmentation into different pools. As a result, XFAI is more performant than exchanges like Uniswap even with a small percentage of the liquidity proportionally, and XFAI’s performance grows exponentially as liquidity increases.

On Uniswap and similar DEXs, token liquidity is fragmented into multiple token pairings which often have low liquidity, whereas on XFAI all tokens have their own unique pool.

This unique design also introduces several other standout benefits for traders on Linea, the first of these being that every token is directly swappable without the need for intermediaries. For example, if you want to swap between tokens on Uniswap that didn’t have direct pairings then you would have to do two swaps in the background. Compare this with XFAI’s double-weighted model, where every token acts as if they were directly paired with every other token, meaning that direct swaps between tokens can all happen in one smooth motion which minimizes slippage. This culminates in the best trading results possible, meaning more money in your wallet at the end of a swap.

On Uniswap and similar DEXs, Token X would be swapped for ETH, which would then get swapped for Token Y. On XFAI, Token X can be swapped directly for Token Y.

Promising Returns for Liquidity Providers

XFAI's design provides lucrative opportunities for liquidity providers (LPs). Unlike other DEXs where LPs often face negative returns, XFAI's approach allows LPs to earn profits by providing liquidity. Traders earn fees every time a swap occurs with the primary token they have supplied, yielding more impressive returns.

Regarding fees, XFAI excels in the earning opportunities available to LPs, due to the nature of XFAI’s concentrated liquidity pools.

When traders swap tokens on an exchange, LPs earn swap fees. On exchanges like Uniswap, LPs would earn fees for whenever their provided liquidity is traded. However, because liquidity is fragmented into different pools, traders only earn fees when their specific pool is transacted against.

With XFAI it’s a different story. As liquidity for each token sits in one singular deep pool traders earn fees every time a swap happens with the primary token that they have provided, meaning more fees and liquidity provisioning opportunities that result in profit.

On Uniswap and similar DEXs, LPs only earn fees for the specific pairing of liquidity they provided, whereas, on XFAI, LPs earn fees every time their primary token is traded.

Optimal Liquidity Solutions For Linea

In addition to the benefits for traders and LPs, XFAI’s approach offers advantages to projects on Linea. Traditional DEXs require projects to create multiple liquidity pools, fragmenting their liquidity. In contrast, XFAI allows projects to create one liquidity pool, lowering start-up costs, improving liquidity for their token and facilitating more viable swaps.

XFAI's performance as a simulation, with XFAI having just 10% of the liquidity of a token on Uniswap, XFAI would yield a better swap deal in 55.44% of trade instances, increasing as XFAI's liquidity increases.

XFAI also plans to introduce liquidity generation events for projects, allowing projects on Linea to bootstrap communities by offering token rewards for committing funds converted into liquidity, further deepening their token pool and making swaps even more performant.

Account abstraction increases flexibility in the management and behavior of Ethereum accounts by introducing account contracts: special-purpose smart contracts that define and manage a user’s Ethereum account, also known as smart accounts (SA).

The Challenge at Hand

User experience (UX) challenges in web3 come in the form of problematic account recovery and transaction fees that prevent widespread adoption. Account abstraction and smart accounts (SA) enable better UX, but are still early in their adoption cycles. Wave 0: DeFi Voyage Launch

We kicked things off by introducing Voyagers to core Linea, web3, and DeFi concepts. We discussed the overarching narrative of the Linea Voyage, Voyage XP, and the DeFi Voyage dynamics— preparing Voyagers for upcoming waves, while beginning an educational journey for any web3 newcomers interested in exploring DeFi the same as superusers.

Wave 1: MetaMask

Just as we introduced core concepts and discussed crypto wallets and security best practices, Voyagers began their L2 DeFi journey by bridging funds into Linea and swapping tokens using MetaMask Portfolio. Voyagers were prepping to boost Ethereum scaling by embarking on this L2 DeFi journey!

Many Voyagers seemed to be set on maxing out LXP!

Wave 2: Bridging and Onramps

For bridging week, Voyagers explored Linea’s bridging ecosystem.

We looked at on-ramps that move fiat into crypto assets, and bridging, one of the components that helps Ethereum more efficiently handle a higher volume of activity, connects Ethereum with other blockchains. We dove into exactly what these are, how to do them, and how to protect yourself against their inherent risks.

Wave 3: Token Swaps

For the third wave of the DeFi Voyage, Voyagers explored Linea’s DEX and DEX aggregator ecosystem. Also, they acquainted themselves with various crypto assets, including stablecoins, liquid staking tokens, and real-world assets.

We walked through how to swap tokens, how smart contracts work behind the scenes, what the critical terms around swapping mean (such as liquidity and liquidity pools), and how to protect against the risks of token swapping.

Wave 4: Lending and Borrowing

During wave 4, Voyagers explored how to interact with DeFi money markets. They discovered that these markets offer traditional finance tools like interest and liquidity, supercharged with the power of decentralization.

We prepped Voyagers to take on more advanced transactions by navigating how lending and borrowing work in DeFi, the key terms you need to know, and the associated risks and benefits.

Wave 5: Liquidity Provision and Yield Farming

Here’s where complexity ramped up. For wave 5, Voyagers explore liquidity provision and yield farming by providing liquidity on selected pairs on Linea DEXs. By providing assets as liquidity, particularly for decentralized exchanges (DEXs), users bolster the ecosystem that enables swaps and other financial activities.

To prepare, we explored how liquidity provision and yield farming work, their risks, and how you can more safely use these tools to participate in DeFi.

Wave 6: Proof-of-Humanity

Wave 6 was focused on human verification. We asked Voyagers to prove their humanity and identity with Verax, an on-chain attestation registry that works like a trust and reputation scoring system.

Verax allows for maintaining a public canon of data from which we can derive reputation. We can apply various reputation protocols to the data to derive a subjective level of trust in unknown issuers of attestations. In these cases, we are not trusting the issuer of the credential/attestation directly, but rather the reputation that we can establish based on the data available on-chain.

Wave 7: Trading

During wave 7, Voyagers explored complex trading products. DeFi’s distinctive features are often called "stackable money legos," signifying a flexible and modular nature. This allows for the creation and combination of new functionalities, a stark contrast to traditional finance. DeFi hasn't just replicated existing financial products but introduces new paradigms that were previously unfeasible.

To prepare Voyagers to take on wave 7, we walked through popular complex trading products, how they work, their uses and risks, and examples of these products on Linea.

Wave 8: SocialFi

We shifted to decentralized social during wave 8! Voyagers explored SocialFi on Linea by minting an NFT that catalogued each Voyager’s 2023 journey on the Linea network and getting acquainted with Tomo. This user-centric platform merges social media with decentralized finance and enables direct interaction with users’ favorite creators.

Wave 9: SuperDapps

For the penultimate wave of the DeFi Voyage, Voyagers explored SuperDapps. These are similar to dapps in that they are built on top of blockchain technology, and promote decentralization, security, and transparency. However, SuperDapps offers unique features and an enhanced user experience. They also operate at a larger scale by leveraging multiple blockchain ecosystems and superior smart contract functionalities.

Some web3 wallets are SuperDapps and act as a powerful gateway to DeFi. They offer advanced functionalities such as dapp browser plug-ins; advanced security measures such as multi-sig, encrypted key storage, cross-chain support, and enhanced privacy measures. Each feature makes for a well-rounded user experience that can be a decisive factor when bringing the next billion users to DeFi and web3.

Wave 10: Account Abstraction

And finally, we come to account abstraction! For this wave, Voyagers experienced how account abstraction upgrades the web3 dapp user experience and eliminates the need for convoluted secret recovery phrases, tricky transactions, and high gas fees. Voyagers used Timeless Wallet to execute swaps, liquidity provision, and borrowing across DeFi dapps.

To prepare, we dove into what account abstraction means, how it works, and some of the major UX advances it makes possible. We also looked at two of the most immediate improvements: transaction sponsoring and paymasters, in greater detail and examined how they have been implemented on Linea.
