Here’s complete guide on how to purchase DeFi Kingdoms’ locked $JEWEL at astonishing discounts.

For those who know about DeFi Kingdoms, farming rewards have a large portion of them locked up until mid July 2022 when they begin to linearly unvest over the next year. Everyone currently involved most likely have handsome locked $JEWEL bags at this point.

What if I told you there was a way to move these locked balances from one account to another. For some, this would mean securing profits and for others, this would mean purchasing these locked $JEWEL balance for a STEEP, STEEP, discount.

Just yesterday, @FriskyFoxDK (twitter), CEO of DFK, sent out a discord revealing that there seems to be a “black market” of locked $JEWEL trading going on. He did note that this feature was going to eventually be an NPC in the game, and current use would involve heavy contract risk.

Here’s how it’s being done. Over on the DFKwiki discord (discord.gg/SVuyGuRw), famed community members Sarah and @zylarverse (twitter) are facilitating peer to peer locked jewel transactions. Note: Other discords for this service exist, this is just the safest in my opinion.

Potential buyers and sellers then head to the #wtb-locked or #wts-locked channels and negotiate prices with each other. After an agreement has been reached, parties ask Sarah or Zyler to middleman the transaction.

The buyer will send their payment and the seller will send their locked balance to the middleman. Upon receiving both, the middleman will release the funds. A combined 2% fee (1% per side) is taken. Sarah has generously said she will give over half of her profit to charity.

Alright enough rambling, how do we actually transfer locked balances? Well the great devs over at FarmersOnlyFi, a trusted farm on Harmony, have created an easy to use tool to send locked balances. First, head over to app.farmersonly.fi/jewel.

On this page, simply connect your metamask and enter the address of the recipient. This will send ALL, I repeat ALL, off your locked balance. Sorry, there’s no way currently to send partial amounts. Also, make sure you stake all $JEWEL into the bank as this will send your liquid wallet balance as well.

Yup, it’s that simple. Once again shoutout to FarmersOnlyFi for this quick and convenient tool. For those who want to interact with the smart contract more directly, check out (eth95.dev).

Some Math: A logical question arises, how much should 1 locked $JEWEL be worth? 0.1 $JEWEL? 0.5? 0.9? Below is a great example calculation by @crispybyu (twitter) putting the value at around 45%, or about $9 at current prices.

The market: Currently in discord, prices seem to be ranging from $3-$8 per locked jewel. Because it’s an all or nothing transfer, larger locked balances have a cheaper per $JEWEL price. Sarah has personally middlemanned a transaction costing only $1.38/$JEWEL! Yes… a 93% discount!

This goes without saying, but please do your own research and understand that when sending locked balances, there’s always a chance you could lose everything in the “crypto void.”

Positive Note from Sarah: So far this method (using FarmersOnlyFi) has worked 100%.

Here’s some personal opinions. @FriskyFoxDK has made it apparent that this is use at your own risk; something that isn’t “fully” in the game yet, and no team members have endorsed this “black market” trading.

However, seeing as more and more people are trading locked $JEWEL, it seems only fair to me that everyone should at least know how it’s being done, whether you choose to use it or not; hence this article.

Home sweet new home

How did I come to that conclusion?

Cycles, fractals, maths, and squiggles.

I looked at one event and one outcome, then projected that into the future. The last time bitcoin did this, we got the same result, therefore it has to happen the same way again, right?

While that kind of thinking can open your eyes to realistic outcomes, it can also create a false sense of hope, despair, or certainty.

You might psyche yourself into believing something that probably isn’t true. You might convince yourself of something that probably won’t happen.

Great for your next YouTube video or a high-engagement tweet. Not so great for anybody trying to manage their portfolio or their expectations.

Dismiss the past at your own peril. When you project trends into the future, you sometimes see potential outcomes you would have never expected.

You might want to leave a little room for other possibilities.

In the October 2021 issue of Crypto is Easy, I asked you what you’d do if bitcoin’s price dropped from $65,000 to $42,000 and took four months to recover. You probably thought I was joking.

Maybe you thought I was crazy in November when I told you bitcoin’s price could go from $65,000 to $100,000 by the end of the year.

“Mark, those outcomes are the literal opposites of each other.”

Yes. That’s the point.

Today, any price between $20,000 and $150,000 fits within bitcoin’s normal range of volatility. We’ve seen this market make similar moves in similar circumstances before — to the upside and the downside.

Just when you think it has to go higher, it tanks. Just when you think it has to go lower, it zooms.

Nothing fundamentally changes, just the price.

Maybe think less about price, more about opportunity. Less about trading charts, more about human behaviors. Less about downsides, more about risks.

Take everything into account, not just the bits that pop up on your feed or get circulated in your chat group. Then plan accordingly.

When you spend some time looking at the market from different angles, you might be surprised how much perspective you can get about what’s realistic and what’s not.

Assume no prediction will come true and accept that this asset moves violently and to extremes that seem crazy to think about — until they actually happen.

That way, you don’t have to get wrapped up in the hype that comes with every bullish target or the fear that grips you when you see a bearish forecast.

You’ll just act when the situation demands it and let time and markets do the rest of the work for you.
