Her family spins the dreidel so it’s gonna be a sin.”

– opening lyrics of Diamond In My Pocket by Sean Allen Fenn

What if there was a Web3 holiday song that’s heard every year? Instead of being just a Christmas song, what if it could be a Hanukkah song as well? That would bring together people of different faiths, and be fun to hear!

In this essay, my intention is to explain why this song was written and why it belongs on the blockchain. My desired outcome is for this song to be a beacon which unites our tribe of open-minded, diverse minds who value spiritual aspects of human life. We desire to be seen and heard. We believe that our imagination is our operating system. We choose to focus on success, health, wealth, abundance, prosperity and love.

First, a quick introduction for new members of our tribe. My name is Sean Allen Fenn. I’m an artist who once gave up on his dream. After the pandemic, I started making music again. You can hear my previous songs on Spotify. Informed by Jewish thought, my personal belief is that we are Elohim, which is a plural name of G-d. In other words, we are not separate from Elohim. We have the power to create. We actually never turn it off. Our words cast spells. That’s why it’s called spelling. Before you file me under weirdo, this is relevant to understand where I’m coming from.

Second, this technology is important. Today, we have digital ownership. That was impossible only a few years ago. Artists can transmute their acts of creation into valuable assets. This allows for skin-in-the-game. Collectors become collectives.

Third, consider this essentially to be a roadmap. It’s my opinion that the music is the utility. However, the point is to add value. Therefore, collectors will receive next year’s album free in some form or another via airdrop. Since the objective is to build and grow our tribe, this release will most likely be an open edition, ending December 31 2022. The price will be almost free.

Description:

As The Maccabees refused to allow the desecration of their Temple by Antiochus IV, the artist has authority to reject negativity when creating his own reality. In our time, many have succumbed to the temptations of negativity. When we sing about what we don’t want – hurt, pain, sadness, loss – we’re not aware that we are begging for more negativity. It’s no surprise that anyone who speaks, sings, or paints such pictures is setting herself up to experience more of what she begged for. This is a metaphysical law.

To recognize a season of joy as an opportunity to amplify that joy is a countermeasure to the shadows in the valley of death. Singing about what we do want for ourselves and for others is the path of an artist like Sean Allen Fenn. Courageous in battle is the one who creates their chosen reality.

For the new single, Diamond In My Pocket, the artist tells a fictional story of an interfaith couple. Writing himself into a relationship, the opening lyric is, “Christmas time is here again, and I want to spend it with my friend”. As the story unfolds, we learn that his best friend is a Jewish girl. We are listening to a romantic holiday pop/rock song that threatens to ruin every cliché. Bell chimes are absent. Instead we hear tambourines led by a jagged synth line. The little drummer boy is replaced by a programmed, bare-bones, electro-rock beat.

Unlike traditional Christmas music, there is a Hanukkah twist. Will this single be worthy to enter the holiday canon? Only time will tell. For an indie artist alive in a hostile world to attempt to write a new holiday song at all invites us to imagine bravery.

Traits:

Genre is dream-pop / synth-wave / art-rock.

Key is Dm.

127 BPM.

444Hz tuning.

2:31 duration.

Written & produced by Sean Allen Fenn (BMI) for SAFE New Media.

Drop date is planned between sundown December 18 to sundown December 26 (coinciding with Hanukkah), final cutoff December 31 2022.

Web 2 release will be December 16, pre-save December 2.

Original:

https://hq.decent.xyz/1/Crescendo/0xa0D9F5478EAD235a831a578F39eb6967F31447c9

Subscribe

This was the band formed in New York City around 2005 to shake off the previous moniker, Sean Allen Fenn & the Maids of Dishonor. My new band, The Eidolons broke up before the album was released (not to be mistaken for another band with a similar name). An existential crisis would shortly send me spiraling towards rock-bottom.

The music stopped. Hitting rock-bottom forced me to face demons and fix character flaws. After a divine encounter with the Heavenly realm, my life turned around. From that point on, success in terms of spiritual and material prosperity became the priority. Leaning into transformational discomfort in order to become the ideal version of myself led me into entrepreneurial endeavors from fine art to digital marketing. Music wasn’t on the agenda anymore because it didn’t make sense financially.

Fast forward to March 2020. A certain pandemic disrupted the world economy. Business as usual jolted to a halt. New York City shut down. All of the sudden, making music for the love of it started to seem like a valuable use of time. The material that consisted of those earlier albums had passed away, but my love of making music returned. Between April and June 2020, I had written 100 songs. Half of them were generative electronic songs. That September, Freedom Gained Precision Lost was the first of two new albums which emerged.

A new album of songs written on guitar was released in January 2022. Titled, SURPLUS, this collection of 11 songs became the optimistic point of departure for the next wave. A new single, In The Secret Place, drops 12 August 2022 on Spotify. While I prefer to release another album, it seems more viable to release singles for a while. Today’s audiences by-and-large tend to ignore albums of unknown artists until they’re famous. That’s the hypothesis I’m testing with this upcoming release. Further, it fits the music NFT format better, in my opinion.

Factors affecting the NFT release for the new single:

As for the NFT release, there are a few factors pending which will determine the outcome. Not being the sharpest tool in the shed, my approach is from the mind of an artist and musician who is still learning the technical side of Web3.

Based upon my experience releasing my previous single from SURPLUS, The Love Cascade (2021) on Mint Songs Factory, chances are In The Secret Place will follow the same path. As of this writing, an invite would be a prerequisite to mint via Mint Songs V2. I’m also considering deployment of my own contract, if in the next few weeks there is shown to be a demand which would justify the costs. There is a music video which may or may not be minted, depending upon demand.

At this point, our mission is the expansion of our community around this music. In other words, an expensive 1/1 would not be the best way to achieve that. This is not a money grab. That wouldn’t benefit anyone long term. Not to mention market conditions at the time of this writing. Therefore, multiple editions at a low price point may prove more favorable.

In conclusion, this entry is my foray into publishing my thought-process.

My intention is twofold:

to share my reasons for making music.

articulate the closest approximation to a roadmap.

Additionally, it’s my opinion that music is the utility.

NFTs in their simplest form are pure provenance devices.

source:

https://mirror.xyz/noun40.eth

As an artist, “putting myself out there” is a personality trait. The fact that you’re reading this means that there’s a place in your mind which understands and can relate to my thought process. In other words, an expensive 1/1 would not be the best way to achieve that. This is not a money grab. That wouldn’t benefit anyone long term. Not to mention market conditions at the time of this writing. Therefore, multiple editions at a low price point may prove more favorable.

The plan was to mint editions of the audio via a platform which has since reached obsolescence. Instead, there is a 1/1 music video. At the time of this writing, the music video NFT is not listed for sale, but anyone can make an offer.

Edit – 9.08.2022, 07:00 UTC

Wednesday, September 7, 2022 18:15:45 asking price for the music video NFT has been listed at 0.7 Ξ, based upon the following epistemology:

My desired outcome is to expand our community. Music is a tool; but more than a utility. Music can express what logic and reason cannot. To be more specific, I’m going to use spiritual vernacular: My intention is to advance the Kingdom of Heaven. Esoteric as that sounds, it means not everyone is going to listen. Those who do will experience life more abundantly.

In order to accomplish this desired outcome, my assumptions must be course-corrected. Also, it’s important for me to be honest. Reconciling contradictions leads to more clarity of purpose.

To cut to the chase, the decision to list this 1/1 at this price emerged from my subconscious. I woke up from a dream the morning of August 12 with the impression that The Secret Place music video NFT is to be listed and sold for 0.7Ξ. Today, I acted on that impression after being prompted by a realization. That is, not to doubt myself.

Additionally, my hypothesis was that if I release low-priced editions, it would grow our community. But would it? That’s entirely uncertain. There was an error in my reasoning.

The reality is, releasing low-priced editions guarantees no more certainty of the desired outcome than a higher priced 1/1 music video. Actually, this price point is low. We’ve been conditioned by manipulative economic forces to not be fairly compensated for our art. My aim is to make more and greater records, as well as to provide for my family. Asking for more is our right and obligation.

subscribe://
