This week has been exhilarating, I took part in the RADAR Futurethon and got a chance to explore an interesting new concept we named “Soulbound Pen Pals”. 

You see, we came to the conclusion human creativity works best when in pairs. Just think of Lennon and McCartney, Jobs and Woz, The Curies, or the Eames dynamic duo. All of these great people in the past benefited from having someone to bounce ideas off of. There’s just something special about working in pairs that unlocks new ways of thinking! It’s why we have best friends, why we go on first dates, and why we join new clubs.

So, we decided to make it a reality and launch it as a Mirror project. The “soulbound” side of this idea will come later on, for now we are launching it as a publication in which the edition NFTs will serve as the token that grants our new friends access to the project.

After getting their hands on one of this letter’s 10 editions, prospective pen pals will be assigned a random person to have interesting conversations with on a weekly basis, we expect them to share thoughts and feelings, and build a genuine connection through their correspondence. We’ll later be publishing these letters, and sharing the revenue with them.

And the best part? It’s all anonymous by design. The team and I concluded that privacy leads to honesty. Just the fact that you and I are having a heartfelt conversation without knowing each other shows just how much power this concept holds.
