dRy is a producer, DJ, audio engineer, and guitarist based in Turkey. His Sound journey started with genesis drop "LET ME FEEL YOUR LOVE." The song was released in January 2024, and helped him to reach his first 100 collectors.

Since then he's released four other tracks, each with a Free Edition tier as well as a Limited Edition. With each new song, he was able to connect with new fans across the world and communicate with them in the comments.

In March, he participated in the Ziggy Ziggy Music remix competition, where he was able to leverage onchain splits and expand his audience by remixing a song by BUZZ, an artist with nearly 25K monthly listeners on Spotify.

“We are in an amazing system where we can instantly and warmly connect with listeners from all over the world from various genres of music, easily collaborate with many great musicians, and own all the rights to our songs.

As a producer or musician, it's crucial to get the right vibe. By spending time on the platform and listening to the demands of the listeners, we can contribute significantly to our own development. The more our vibe resonates with music lovers and platform curators, the more our work will be shared. It's a long journey, and as an independent artist, it's important to be actively engaged rather than just creating music and sitting on the sidelines. I am certain that Sound xyz will evolve significantly in parallel with on-chain music. This motivates me to create whenever I have time for my music and to accumulate my ideas.

My goal is to eventually put aside all other music and sound-related activities that consume most of my energy and focus only on my own music, as well as being in a system where I can easily spend time as a curator using my passion for listening, feeling and analyzing new drops in conjunction with my long DJing past.”

Rapper Abunai is a rapper singer, producer and composer who joined Sound in January 2024. It all started with his first track, "Rompiendo," a 1/1 that is still available for just .005 ETH.

Since then, he's released 25 other songs. Recently, he's broken out to reach over 1K new collectors. As a result, he's been consistently placing on the Viral Chart, and today, he holds 6 positions out of the top 100 tracks on Sound.

One of Rapper Abunai's strengths is his dedication to consistent output. Just in this year he's already released a ton of new music and he's been an active participant in the social feed, sharing all of them with our community.

Since I started using Sound, I've noticed several advantages that have made my journey as an artist more exciting and rewarding. Here are some highlights of my experience:

DANC3 is "a community of music lovers born through Sound." Sound dropped their first release about a year ago in May 2023. It all started with "DANC3 Mixtape (CRAZY)" - their genesis drop which was a mixtape that was produced by Serboy.

Beachcrimes is an LA based duo who joined Sound in January of 2023 with their genesis drop "Let's Play House." To date, they've released 25 tracks and have appeared on the Own The Sound Mixtape, as well as their live set on the Ziggy Ziggy genesis collection.

Last year, they released two songs every month - releasing their finale on December 29, 2023. It was a part of their 24 songs in 48 weeks campaign - which saw many sold out mints that attracted thousands of collectors.

Their drop formats evolved over time - taking advantage of the latest features we had to offer and adapting to market conditions. The track "Lullabies" was one of the most successful after being featured in a Coinbase Quest. This track alone got over 20K mints.

Lyrah is an LA based artist who quit her job to pursue music full time. Sound helped her in her journey as one of her creative outlets - providing a new way to release music and connect with fans.

Her genesis drop was "Hold Me," a 25 edition limited drop with a price of .1 ETH. Since that drop in February 2022, she's released 7 other tracks on her page, as well as appearing on 10 songs.

She recently went viral with "I Just Need" - a song she wrote with Daniel Allan. To celebrate its success, she also uploaded the "stripped" version as an open edition that has now ended. The song is still available on secondary.

Her latest track, "Coming Back," was dropped in collaboration with Coop Records and released at the same time as all other DSPs.

Karma.wav is one of the most active music artists onchain today. He joined Sound in February 2022, and later that year started dropping music from KarmaVioletta - the traveling music duo couple he is a part of.

To date, he's dropped seven tracks and has appeared on three, including one from NOISE DAO and one from Campfire. From the start he's offered Web3 native perks to collectors - with genesis collectors getting access to his token gated Collectors WRLD website.

Reo Cragun was one of the first artists to trust Sound with their music. He's been with us through it all, and has been on tracks using every format we've built. Most recently, he's appeared on tracks with demotapes and Clear Eyes.

His first drop was "LNRZ - Prologue" was a step towards building LNRZ, one of the most innovative Web3 music project in the space today. This drop served as the official start of the LNRZ DAO.

Later on, he experimented with "Frameworks," a five song project that was one of the first Sound drops of such a large size. Each song has it's own rarity, with "Zoom" having just 5 editions. Songs off the project have sold for up to $18K on secondary.

Among his many other large scale experiments, one of his biggest impacts has been through the LNRZ community. The group has worked on artist spotlights, remix competitions, writing camps, and even generative AI.

How BUZZ generated 500K worth of streams in just one month on Sound

BUZZ is an artist and songwriter who joined Sound last month with her song "Liberation." The song is a beautiful ballad that officially released on DSPs in 2022. She's performed it live at places like The Troubadour and Bar Lubitsch, and it was recorded for the 2024 NPR Tiny Desk Contest. With just this one song - she's already made her mark on the platform.

Not only did she make a splash bringing a song with over 1.7M streams onchain, but she also gave Sound artists the opportunity to remix the track and keep 50% of the revenue generated. This is the largest scale example of we've seen so far of permissionless remixes on the platform.

She worked with Ziggy Ziggy Music to bring the project to life, creating a playlist to track all of the songs uploaded. So far there have been 12 remixes from Sound artists - bringing their own visual and audio take on the track.

Being on Sound gave her a new way to monetize her music and fuel creativity for artists on the platform. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:

“Liberation is a very special song to me and my fans so it felt like the right way to introduce myself on Sound… and now it’s having this second life with all the love from the Sound community. It’s really cool to see. I’m used to uploading being a whole todo with traditional DSPs, but uploading to Sound was shockingly easy.”

Learn More About Aly - A Top Prize Winner

Aly is an LA based artist and producer. He was formerly known as Lackhoney, before rebranding to his real name, Aly. Throughout his time on Sound he's dropped multiple projects including Road to Sweets, Sweets 2, and with his We ❤ the Art submission, now the first "Goodie Bag." In total he has 25 releases on Sound.

For the contest submission, he teamed up with bloody white to release an album wrapped into one tight 4:23 song. The Goodie Bags project is in contrast to his Sweets 2 album last year where he released 12 songs that were strictly 30 seconds. That collection sold out despite it being a bear market for music NFTs.

He's connected with his community using a Telegram chat, where he connects with his fans and talks about music and more. He also ran "the producer game," as a reward for top collectors on his Sweet 2 project. More details are still to come on this emerging opportunity for these collectors to have a say in the projection of Goodie Bags.

Being on Sound afforded him the creative freedom to try new things onchain and collect to fans in a whole new way. Here’s what he had to say about his experience:
