If you're an artist or musician looking to expand your reach and income potential, Web3 can be an exciting avenue to explore. Here's a step-by-step guide to get you started:

1. Learn about Web3

WTF is it? Web3 is the next evolution of the internet, powered by blockchain technology. It offers a more decentralized, secure, and transparent way to connect and transact online. Understanding the basics of Web3 will help you navigate this new space more effectively and take advantage of its benefits. Be sure to check these out:

Mus3.io created an educational and discussion platform based on Web3 concepts and tools in application to the music industry.

What is Web3? by Ethereum.org is another beginner-friendly guide to stepping into the unknown.

30 Days of NFTs by ZenAcademy is another popular stepping-stone with a great community.

2. Set up a crypto wallet.

To participate in Web3 transactions, you'll need a crypto wallet. This is where you store and manage your digital assets, such as cryptocurrency and NFTs. Make sure to choose a reputable wallet provider and take steps to secure your wallet, such as enabling two-factor authentication. Some useful resources are:

How to Choose & Set Up a Crypto Wallet: a helpful, in-depth article to creating and securing a crypto wallet/s.

Crypto Wallets Explained (Video), because we all like videos.

3. Buy cryptocurrency.

To transact in Web3, you'll need cryptocurrency, such as Ethereum (ETH) or Bitcoin (BTC). You can buy cryptocurrency on a crypto exchange using fiat currency, such as USD or EUR. Choose an exchange with a good reputation, low fees, and strong security measures. Check out:

How to Buy Crypto for Beginners: a video guide to buying cryptocurrency.

Top Crypto Exchanges: a list of popular crypto exchanges.

4. Join a Web3 community

Web3 is a collaborative and community-driven space. Joining a Web3 community can help you connect with like-minded artists and musicians, learn from experts, and discover new opportunities. Look for communities that align with your interests and values, and engage with their members.

Twitter is at the forefront of web3 and the majority of people exploring this space hang out here. It’s very popular for connecting with Web3 founders, creators, and enthusiasts.

Check out this Blog for some great community Discord Servers.

5. Create and sell NFTs

NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are unique digital assets representing anything from artwork to music to virtual real estate. As an artist or musician, you can create and sell NFTs to your fans, providing a new way for them to support your work and own a piece of it. You can use platforms like OpenSea, Rarible, or SuperRare to mint and sell your NFTs. Get an ENS Domain

An ENS (Ethereum Name Service) domain is a human-readable name that you can use to receive cryptocurrency and NFTs. It's like a domain name for Web3. Having an ENS domain can make it easier for your fans to send you digital assets, such as tips or payments for your artwork or music. I used stonewax.eth because it’s easier to remember than “OxBdfB…”. Consider this step optional but a step towards owning your digital identity.

Web3 technologies, such as blockchain and NFTs, have revolutionized the way artists and creators interact with their audiences. These new tools offer a level of transparency, security, and flexibility that was previously unimaginable. However, despite the potential benefits of web3, some artists are still hesitant to embrace these technologies. In this blog post, we'll explore why artists should trust web3 tools and technologies and how they can use them to their advantage.

Transparency

One of the key advantages of web3 technologies is transparency. With blockchain, all transactions are publicly recorded and can be viewed by anyone. This means that artists can ensure that they are being paid fairly for their work and that their royalties are being distributed correctly. Additionally, NFTs allow artists to have complete control over the ownership and distribution of their digital assets. This level of transparency helps to build trust between artists and their audiences, which can lead to stronger, more long-lasting relationships.

Security

Web3 technologies also offer a high level of security for artists. With blockchain, all transactions are encrypted and cannot be altered or deleted. This means that artists can be sure that their digital assets are safe from theft or piracy. Additionally, NFTs use smart contracts, which are self-executing and enforceable contracts that automatically execute when certain conditions are met. This ensures that artists are paid fairly and that their royalties are distributed correctly.

Flexibility

Web3 technologies offer a level of flexibility that was previously impossible. With NFTs, artists can create unique, one-of-a-kind digital assets that can be sold as collectibles. These assets can take many forms, such as music, artwork, and even tweets. Additionally, artists can choose to sell their digital assets as limited editions, which can create a sense of urgency among buyers. This can lead to higher prices and greater demand for the artist's work.

As opposed to Web2 platforms like Facebook and Spotify, Web3 tools and technologies offer artists greater control, ownership, and autonomy over their work. By leveraging blockchain and decentralized platforms, artists can create, distribute, and monetize their content without relying on intermediaries who often take a significant portion of their earnings. This means that artists can receive fair compensation for their work and retain ownership over their intellectual property. Furthermore, Web3 enables artists to build and engage with their own communities directly, without having to rely on third-party platforms to connect with fans.

By embracing Web3 tools and technologies, artists can also benefit from increased transparency and security in their transactions. Smart contracts, for example, can automate payments and ensure that artists receive their fair share of revenue, without the need for intermediaries or legal disputes.

Overall, the advantages of Web3 for artists are numerous, and those who choose to embrace these tools and technologies can position themselves for greater success and sustainability in the ever-evolving digital landscape. Here’s how artists can utilise the Metaverse for passive income and global exposure.

With the rise of the Metaverse, artists and musicians have new opportunities to showcase their work and connect with audiences from all over the world. By utilizing tools like video live streaming, virtual galleries, and 3D gamified worlds, artists can reach new heights in their creative careers.

Video live streaming is a great way to connect with audiences in real-time, and artists can use platforms like Twitch or Hypershot to perform, talk about their creative process, and interact with their followers. Virtual galleries, on the other hand, allow artists to showcase their work in immersive and interactive ways, offering audiences a unique experience that they can't get in the physical world.

3D gamified worlds take things even further, allowing artists to create entire virtual experiences for their audiences to explore. These worlds can be used to host live performances or events, sell tickets, and even offer virtual merchandise. The possibilities are endless, and artists who are willing to explore the Metaverse can expand their reach and potentially earn passive income in the process. Check out what Charm Taylor did with her release EVOLUTION.

To get started, artists can research and explore existing platforms and tools that cater to the Metaverse, such as Decentraland, Somnium Space, or Mverse.

If you’re an artist, asking this question right now, here’s where and how to start this journey.

Web3 music refers to the intersection of music and blockchain technology. It's a way for musicians to take control of their own music and revenue streams, while also connecting with fans in new and exciting ways. And the best part? You don't need a lot of money to get started.

So, where do you begin? The first step is to educate yourself on blockchain technology and its potential applications for the music industry. Start by reading up on the basics of blockchain and how it can be used to track ownership and revenue streams. Check out forums and communities like Lowly Labs, Zen Academy, and Mus3 where you can connect with other musicians and learn from their experiences, and some even have free courses.

Next, start building your online presence. Twitter is at the forefront of Web3 and has become a great tool for connecting with fans and other musicians, and it's free to use. Start by following and engaging with other musicians in the Web3 music space. Share updates about your music, your thoughts on the industry, and any upcoming projects or events. See why Twitter ‘slaps’ here.

Another key aspect of Web3 music is community. Building a strong, engaged community around your music is essential for success. Utilise platforms like Discord or Telegram to connect with fans and other musicians. Host virtual events like listening parties or Q&A sessions to build relationships with your audience. Also very budget-friendly.

But what about marketing and promotion? Don't worry, you don't need a big budget for that either. You can recycle your content across other social platforms like TikTok and Instagram and spread the word, “web2.5” style. Create that mailing list using free a service like Mailchimp (or another subscription-based mailing list) to keep your fans up-to-date on your latest releases and events and slowly bridge the gap. Your true fans will follow.

Finally, consider releasing your music as an NFT (non-fungible token) on a supported platform like Opensea, Sound.xyz or Catalog. This allows you to sell your music as a unique collectible, with the potential for increased value over time. It's a great way to build a new revenue stream and connect with fans in a meaningful way. Check out this blog post.

Concluding, Web3 music is a new and exciting space for musicians to explore. Educate yourself on the technology, build your online presence and community, and utilise free marketing tools to get your music out there. And remember, it's all about connecting with fans and creating something truly unique and valuable. So, what are you waiting for? Start creating and join the Web3 music movement today!

Thank you for reading homies, appreciate you! Please subscribe and collect for more.

Subscribe

Ready to harness the power of Web3 and take your creativity to new heights?

So… you're a musician looking to sell your music as NFTs. Great! There are a variety of sales strategies you can use to your advantage, no matter where you are in your creative career.

One of the most effective strategies is to sell your music as NFTs… exclusive, one-of-a-kind pieces of fine art, or a limited run of a certain number of editions, such as 10. This creates a sense of exclusivity and urgency among collectors and fans, making them more likely to purchase your music NFTs as collectibles.

By intentionally creating limited editions of your music NFTs, you can build valuable assets in your brand early on. Just like rare vinyl records or mixtapes from famous artists, your limited edition NFTs will become coveted items among collectors and fans, and, as you build your career, their value will rise over time. This is a great way to build a loyal fanbase and increase the perceived value of your brand.

To create limited edition NFTs, you can use smart contracts to specify the number of editions that will be sold or set a deadline for the sale period. By limiting the number of available NFTs, you can generate a feeling of exclusivity, motivating potential buyers to act fast and secure their spot in your exclusive collection.

Additionally, you can also create an open edition sale where you sell as many NFTs as you can for a limited time only. This creates a sense of urgency as well, as fans will know that they only have a limited time to purchase your music as an NFT before the sale ends.

Ultimately, by selling your music as NFTs using these small sales strategies, you can leverage the power of exclusivity and urgency to build a loyal fanbase and increase the value of your brand. So, take the time to research and explore your options, and you may just find a new and exciting way to showcase your music and build a sustainable career in the Web3 space.

What’s good homies! Are you an artist or musician looking to cut out the middleman and deploy your own smart contracts on the blockchain? If so, you're in luck! Ethereum, one of the most popular blockchains, offers two types of contracts: ERC-20 and ERC-1155. But what's the difference, and which one is right for you?

ERC-20 contracts are typically used for fungible tokens, such as currency (eg. Bitcoin) or shares in a company. They are the most common type of smart contract and are often used for ICOs (initial coin offerings) and other fundraising campaigns. ERC-1155 contracts, on the other hand, are used for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which are unique and can represent anything from art to virtual real estate.

As an artist or musician, you may be interested in using ERC-1155 contracts to release your work as NFTs. By doing so, you can retain ownership and control of your creations, and potentially earn a significant amount of money if they become popular.

But what if you're looking for a blockchain with cheaper fees and easier deployment options? Enter Solana and Polygon. These blockchains offer a range of benefits, including faster transaction speeds and lower gas fees than Ethereum.

Solana, for example, is gaining popularity among artists and musicians due to its low fees and "lazy minting" option. With lazy minting, you can mint your NFTs at a later time, which means you don't have to pay the minting fee until you're ready to release your artwork. This is a significant advantage, as it allows you to avoid high upfront costs and only pay for what you need.

Polygon, previously known as Matic Network, is another blockchain that offers cheaper fees and faster transactions. It's also compatible with Ethereum, which means you can easily move your contracts and tokens between the two blockchains.

And let's not forget Tezos, which is another blockchain that offers self-deployable smart contract options. Tezos is unique in that it allows you to upgrade your smart contracts without any disruption to the network. This means you can easily make changes and improvements to your NFTs without having to start from scratch.

So, whether you choose Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Tezos, or another blockchain, there are a variety of self-deployable smart contract options available to help you release your art and music without the need for the middleman. Take the time to research and explore your options, and you may just find a new and exciting way to showcase your talents and take control of your creative work!

Thank you for reading, please subscribe for more :)

Subscribe

<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/925328050f43388a51a717b839283334cc410bd28a1ace0e01d129f9dd4cb710.gif" alt="THE GREAT HARMONIC CONVERGENCE FEAT. Take it or leave it… it’s a party.

There are various web3 blockchains out there, and it can be tricky to choose which one to use. But don't worry; here’s a breakdown.

Bitcoin is the OG of cryptocurrencies, and some artists like Fatboy Slim and Cara Delevingne are releasing music on this blockchain. Bitcoin has its own set of tools that allow artists to release their work in unique ways.

Ethereum is another popular blockchain that artists like Sara Phillips and Snoop Dogg are succeeding on. However, one thing to keep in mind with Ethereum is that gas (transaction fees) can fluctuate every second, which can affect the cost of releasing and collecting your work on this blockchain.

Then there's Solana, which is gaining popularity among artists like RŌHKI, IGoByLC, and Jamee Cornelia, who are giving us visual collectibles on this chain.

It's essential to research each blockchain and understand the different tools and features that they offer to determine which one suits your needs. however, one thing to keep in mind is that it's a good idea to be everywhere because, it’s early, and when web3 music takes off, you at least have explored these options. The easiest way to do this… Twitter and Discord. Find your communities, they will literally show you how.

So, take the time to experiment with different blockchains and see which one works best for you. And who knows, you might just find your groove!

Thank you for reading.

Today we talk about Discord and why we are using it so much.

Web3 tech is transforming the way we think about ownership, value, and community in the digital world, and with blockchain technology and smart contracts, creators can finally take control of their work and connect directly with their audience. But as with any new technology, there are challenges and opportunities to consider. One of the biggest is building trust and creating strong communities. That's where Discord comes in.

Discord is a chat and voice platform that was originally created for gamers. It quickly became popular among online communities, and now it's becoming an essential tool for Web3 enthusiasts and startups.

Why? Well, for one, it's incredibly versatile. You can create channels for specific topics, events, or projects. You can also use Discord to connect with people from all over the world, making it easy to build global communities.

And two, (and perhaps the biggest advantage of Discord) is the sense of trust and familiarity it creates between members. In a smaller, more intimate community, people are more likely to feel connected to one another and to the community as a whole. This can lead to more collaboration, networking, and ultimately, more success for everyone involved.

However, there are also some downsides to using Discord for Web3 communities. One of the biggest concerns is security. Discord has been the target of hacks and security breaches in the past, which can be a major issue when dealing with sensitive information or valuable assets like NFTs.

Despite these concerns, Discord remains one of the best platforms for building Web3 communities and connecting with like-minded individuals. By leveraging this power and other Web3 tools, artists and creators can take control of their work and build strong communities that support and uplift one another.

Here are some I have loved being part of:

https://discord.gg/lowlylabs

https://discord.gg/aasc

https://discord.gg/soundxyz

https://discord.gg/syr9dfbd

https://discord.gg/oceanfloormusic

https://discord.gg/libby

https://discord.gg/stacksparrots

https://discord.gg/zBEAFZxD

https://discord.gg/BAwqASgj

https://discord.gg/3tEVXsqf

https://discord.gg/98UMEzj7

https://discord.gg/tAEWCaj7

https://discord.gg/3NFSxPcq

https://discord.gg/typGQhJf

https://discord.gg/CzHVSY32

https://discord.gg/JCVnAHe3

https://discord.gg/cGnRVqhe

https://discord.gg/NjmjeXfsQG

Subscribe

Thank you for reading homies.

If you're an artist or musician, you know that owning and valuing your work can be a tricky business. But with the rise of blockchain technology and Web3, things are changing fast.

For starters, blockchain allows for true ownership of your work. Once you create an NFT (non-fungible token) of your art or music, it's stored on the blockchain forever. That means you, and only you, have proof of ownership.

And that's not all. Smart contracts, another blockchain innovation, can automate payment for the use of your work. For example, if a movie producer wants to use your music in their film, the smart contract can ensure that you get paid every time the movie is watched or sold.

But with all these new opportunities comes a new challenge: how to value your work. In the traditional art world, value is often determined by galleries, museums, and auction houses. But in the blockchain world, value can be more subjective and fluid.

That's where positioning comes in. As an artist, it's up to you to position your work in a way that resonates with your audience and collectors. One way to do this is by creating a narrative around your work, whether it's the story behind a particular piece or the inspiration for your overall style.

You can also use social media and community building to create a loyal following for your work. By engaging with your fans and collectors, you can build a network that will help support and promote your work.

Yep. Great. Fantastic. The blockchain revolution is bringing exciting new opportunities for artists and musicians to truly own and monetise their work. But it also requires a new way of thinking about value and positioning. By staying ahead of the curve and embracing these new technologies, you can position yourself for success in the ever-changing art and music landscape. LFG!

Thank you for reading.

If you've been nerd-ing out on the world of Web3 as I have, you've probably heard a lot about smart contracts. These self-executing contracts are built on blockchain technology and can be used to automate a wide range of tasks, from financial transactions to voting systems. But how do smart contracts relate to the art world, and how can they help artists make money on their work?

One of the key ways that smart contracts are being used in the art world is through the creation and sale of NFTs. (Go here to learn more about NFTs). When an artist creates an NFT, they can attach a smart contract to it that outlines the terms of the sale and any royalties or revenue splits that should be paid out to the artist or other collaborators.

For example, an artist could create an NFT that represents a digital artwork and attach a smart contract that specifies that the artist will receive a 10% royalty every time the NFT is sold in the future. This ensures that the artist continues to make money on their work even after it's sold, and also creates an incentive for buyers to hold onto the NFT rather than immediately reselling it. Resellers are called ‘Flippers’ (we will touch on this soon).

Smart contracts can also be used to create more complex revenue-sharing agreements between artists, record labels, and other collaborators. For example, a musician could create an NFT that represents a new album and attach a smart contract that automatically pays out a percentage of the revenue to each collaborator involved in the project, such as the producer, mixer, and mastering engineer. This eliminates the need for manual accounting and royalty tracking and ensures that each collaborator is fairly compensated for their work. No more royalties lost in the abyss… hopefully.

Concluding, the combination of NFTs and smart contracts are helping to create a more equitable and transparent art market. By giving artists more control over the terms of their sales and ensuring that they receive fair compensation for their work, smart contracts are making it easier than ever for artists to make a living on their art. And as the technology continues to evolve, we're likely to see even more innovative ways that smart contracts can be used to support artists and creators in the Web3 era.

Thank you for reading.

Want to learn more from artists who are testing the waters?

Where all the digital cats are selling for real cash!

What’s cooking homies? We’ve all heard about NFTs. They're all the rage in the world of Web3 right now, and you’ve probably heard me carry on about it IRL… but for those who a new to this world… NFTs, (non-fungible tokens), are unique digital assets that are stored on a blockchain. They can be anything from digital art to music to virtual real estate, and they're changing the way we think about ownership and value in the digital world.

One of the most exciting things about NFTs is the emergence of NFT marketplaces, like Opensea, Nifty Gateway, or Rarible. These marketplaces allow artists to sell their NFTs directly to buyers, without the need for middlemen like record labels or galleries. This is a total game-changer for artists because it allows them to retain more control over their work and earn a larger share of the profits.

But there are some challenges too. With so many artists and creators jumping into the NFT space, it can be tough for any one NFT to stand out from the crowd. This means that some artists are struggling to sell their work or having to compete on price rather than artistic merit. Another issue is the environmental impact of NFTs, which require a lot of energy to create and trade.

One solution to these challenges is the emergence of smaller, niche NFT marketplaces, known as micro markets. These markets focus on specific types of NFTs or specific communities of artists and collectors, creating a more curated environment that helps artists stand out from the crowd.

Communities can play a huge role in an artist's success within micro markets. Buyers and collectors in these communities share a common interest or passion, creating a sense of trust and familiarity between the artists and buyers. By participating in these communities, artists can connect with potential buyers who are already interested in their style or genre of art.

Micro markets can also create opportunities for collaboration and networking. Artists who participate in these communities can connect with other artists who share their interests and collaborate on new projects or NFT collections. This can lead to even more exposure and opportunities for success within the micro market and beyond.

So yeah, dive in and check it out homies… even though NFT marketplaces are still in their infancy, NFTs and micro markets are opening up new possibilities for artists and creators every day. They have the potential to seriously change the way we think about ownership and value in the digital world. By participating in these micro markets and communities, artists can connect with like-minded buyers and collectors, build a loyal following, and create opportunities for collaboration and networking.

GM Homies! So, have you heard about DAOs in the Web3 world? If not, let me fill you in because they are a game-changer, especially in the music industry.

DAOs, or Decentralized Autonomous Organizations, are basically community-driven entities that are governed by a set of smart contracts. These smart contracts automatically execute actions based on pre-defined rules and conditions, without the need for intermediaries like banks or lawyers. This means that decisions and actions are made by the community as a whole, rather than by a select few individuals or companies.

Now, you might be thinking, "That sounds cool, but what does it have to do with music?" Well, the music industry has long been plagued by issues of transparency, fairness, and accountability. Artists often struggle to receive fair compensation for their work, while record labels and streaming platforms take a large percentage of the profits.

But with the rise of Web3 and DAOs, things are starting to change. DAOs allow for the creation of new business models that are more equitable and community-driven. For example, a music DAO could be created to support a specific artist or group of artists, with the community as the primary decision-makers. This could include decisions around marketing, promotions, distribution, and even songwriting.

One of the most exciting aspects of DAOs is that they can also be used to fund and invest in new music projects. Instead of relying on traditional funding models, where artists have to give up a large percentage of their earnings in exchange for support, they can turn to their community for support. The community can then invest in the project, with the artist and the investors sharing the profits based on pre-defined rules.

But it's not just about the money. DAOs also provide a platform for artists and fans to collaborate and co-create in new and exciting ways. For example, a music DAO could hold regular voting sessions where the community decides on which songs to release, which concerts to organize, or even which merch designs to produce.

So, as you can see, DAOs have the potential to revolutionize the music industry by creating a more transparent, fair, and community-driven system. Of course, there are still some challenges and limitations to overcome, such as regulatory compliance and technical complexities. However, as more and more people start to explore the possibilities of DAOs, we are likely to see new and innovative use cases emerge.

Overall, the rise of Web3 and DAOs presents an exciting opportunity for musicians to rethink their business models and connect with their fans in new and meaningful ways. So, if you're a musician or a fan, be sure to keep an eye on the developments in the world of DAOs!

Thank you for reading!

Subscribe for more nerd-outs!

Subscribe

https://www.stonewax.xyz/

GM Twitter! Who do I thank for the new fans… Musky?

What up, homies! As we continue to explore the impact of Web3 on the music industry, let's talk about one of the most popular social media platforms out there: Twitter.

We all know it.. it has been around for over a decade. Twitter has become a staple in the internet diet... and with the rise of Web3, Twitter has become even more important as a platform for musicians to connect with their fans and collaborators in new and exciting ways.

One of the biggest advantages of using Twitter in the Web3 music space is the ability to build a close-knit community. Twitter allows you to engage with your community or fans on a more personal level, and this can lead to a more loyal and dedicated following. In addition, Twitter's emphasis on short-form content makes it a great platform for sharing updates, news, and snippets of your creativity.

Another benefit is the ability to connect with potential collaborators. With the decentralised nature of Web3, it can be challenging for musicians to find other artists or producers to work with.. even harder on other platforms like Instagram or Facebook. However, Twitter, and even more so Twitter Spaces, has made this much easier.

But like any social media platform, Twitter has its pros and cons. One of the biggest challenges of using Twitter is the sheer volume of content on the platform. With so many homies tweeting every second, it can be challenging to cut through the noise and get your voice heard.

Another issue with using Twitter in the Web3 music space is the potential for scams or fraud. With the rise of NFTs and other Web3 technologies, there have been many cases of people trying to take advantage of artists and their fans… some homies have been rugged as their collections go live, leaving their wallets empty and tainted. A nightmare. So it's essential to be cautious and do your due diligence when engaging with people on Twitter or any other social media platform.

Despite these challenges, Twitter remains one of the most effective platforms for building a close community of fans and collaborators in the Web3 music space. And with the recent launch of Twitter Spaces, it has become even more 'social.' Twitter Spaces is a live audio feature that allows users to host real-time conversations with their followers. This can be a powerful tool for musicians to connect with their fans in a more intimate and engaging way.

Concluding, Twitter can be a valuable tool for musicians looking to navigate the Web3 music space. By building a strong community of fans and collaborators and taking advantage of the platform's unique features, musicians can create a sustainable and equitable music industry for everyone. So, if you're a musician looking to make it in the Web3 world, be sure to give Twitter a try!

Appreciate you reading this, please subscribe for more :)

Subscribe

The music industry has come a long way since the days of vinyl records and radio play.

What's good, everyone? Steve Summers here, aka STØNEWÅX. As an artist/producer, and friendly neighbourhood nerd, I've been keeping a close eye on the state of the music industry, and let me tell you, things are changing fast.

One of the biggest changes in recent years has been the rise of streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. As a music fan, it's dope to be able to access all your favourite songs and discover new artists without having to buy individual albums or tracks. But as an artist, it's been a little more complicated.

See, with album sales and downloads declining significantly, musicians have had to look for new ways to monetise their music… and right when the music industry was about to fold in on itself (COVID-19)… out rose the updated Web3 technology and NFTs baby.

Web3 is the next generation of the internet, which is more decentralised, open, and democratic. It uses blockchain and decentralised finance (DeFi) to enable artists to directly monetise their work and engage with fans without any middlemen. And NFTs, in particular, have been gaining popularity as a way for artists to monetise their work and engage with fans.

As an artist myself, I'm excited about these possibilities. With the traditional music industry being so heavily reliant on gatekeepers and intermediaries, it's refreshing to see a more decentralised and democratic approach to music. I love it and I’m in it for the ride.

So, my unbiased advice to any other musicians out there would be to get educated on Web3, blockchain, and cryptocurrency. Learn about the different possibilities and opportunities that Web3 presents for the music industry. And don't be afraid to experiment with decentralised applications (dApps) and platforms like Manifold and Zora, or look into communities that have marketplaces. Emphasis on the word communities.

By building a strong community of fans and supporters and exploring new ways to incentivise and reward them, we can create a more sustainable and equitable music industry for everyone. Time to adapt homies!

Thank you for reading!

Please subscribe for more music industry truth and insight.

Subscribe

https://www.stonewax.xyz/
