The Mode Yield Accelerator Program's SuperDay was an incredible success! Our founder, Njoku Emmanuel, presented our hard work, and teased LaunchBox in front of over 7.5k+ live listeners, including angel investors, early-stage VCs, protocol representatives, and community members tuning in. The opportunity to receive live feedback and thoroughly think through our business model was a game-changer. We would send one-pagers, and iterate on the spot. We’ve learned the importance of being adaptable and open to change. On the horizon, we will be launching liquidity pools on our platform, ensuring an all-in-one DeFi experience. This flexibility allows us to stay relevant and continuously provide value to all.

4. Don’t Rush Your Token

While we’ve discussed the idea of launching a token, we recognize that it’s not quite the right time. Instead, we will be introducing points to incentivize our community to utilize our tools and solutions for DeFi. Our focus remains on creating robust tools that support the great migration to Layer 2 solutions, rather than rushing into a token launch. The value lies in the quality and utility of our offerings.

5. Partnerships are Key

Maintaining strong partnerships is crucial. Keeping in touch with partners, giving them updates, and sharing wins ensures they know how to support you and what you need. This continuous engagement fosters a collaborative space where everyone can contribute to mutual success.

A few months ago, we found ourselves staring at a colossal challenge: How in the world were we going to get ERC-20 tokens, already deployed on Ethereum, to migrate seamlessly to L2s, specifically Base? It was the height of Meme Coin season, and no one wants to be trading with Ethereum's gas fees. We needed a solution to make tokens more accessible.

Fast forward a few sleepless nights and a few homies working together, we built Base Migrate—the simplest and most efficient way to transfer your tokens to Base. The results? Within 48 hours of launching, over 1 billion USD value of tokens had been migrated to Base!

The overwhelming response reaffirmed our belief that we were onto something special, but we knew there was still more to be done. We continued to refine and expand our solution, driven by the desire to make Base Migrate even better for our users.

And then, an incredible opportunity came our way. We were honoured to receive a Base Builder Grant. Step 1: Prepare Your Accounts

Connect Your Wallet and GitHub Account

• Wallet Connection: Begin by connecting your digital wallet. Supermigrate supports a variety of wallets, ensuring you can easily link yours with just a few clicks.

• GitHub Integration: Connect your GitHub account. This integration is crucial as it allows Supermigrate to automate the creation of pull requests necessary for updating token lists and finalizing migration processes on L2 repositories.

Step 2: Initiate the Migration Process

Selecting the Token for Migration

• Navigate to the ‘Migrate Token’ option within the Supermigrate app.

• Enter the address of the token you wish to migrate. Supermigrate will automatically fetch the current token details from L1, such as token name, symbol, and decimals.

Customization (Optional)

• If your token needs different specifications on L2 (like a different name or symbol), use the "Override" option. This flexibility is especially useful for projects looking to rebrand as they expand to new networks.

Step 3: Enter Social and Token Details

Filling Out Social Information

• Provide links to your token’s social media profiles and official website to maintain community engagement and support post-migration.

• Upload your token’s logo in SVG format. This helps in retaining your token’s branding on the new network.

Step 4: Confirm Migration Details

Review and Deploy

• Once you’ve input all the necessary information, review all details for accuracy. Supermigrate will provide a summary of the information you’ve provided.

• Confirm the migration. Supermigrate will then deploy the token contract on the chosen L2 network and handle the necessary pull requests on GitHub to update the token lists.

Step 5: Monitor the Migration Process

Tracking Progress

• Supermigrate provides a real-time progress indicator that shows the status of various steps like contract deployment, pull request creation, and finalization of the migration.

• You will receive notifications as each step is completed, keeping you informed throughout the process.

Step 6: Post-Migration Actions

Bridging and Liquidity Provision

• After a successful migration, explore additional features like bridging and liquidity provision.

• If you wish to enable your token for bridging between L1 and L2, navigate to the 'Bridging Interface' where Supermigrate simplifies the process with pre-filled token information.

• To support liquidity, go to the 'Liquidity Interface.' Here, you can add liquidity or manage existing pools, enhancing the market presence and utility of your token on the new network.

This milestone not only demonstrates our platform's capability and reliability but also strengthens our commitment to onboard a billion people onchain. By making it easier for developers to access cheaper networks, we aim to lower the barriers, address the current challenges and fragmentation in the ecosystem moving us closer to our ambitious goals.

Why are we building Supermigrate?

The transition from Layer 1 (L1) to Layer 2 (L2) networks is hindered by a fragmented ecosystem that poses significant challenges for users. This is characterized by the need to interact with multiple interfaces and platforms for different actions, leading to a cumbersome and inefficient migration process.

For instance, a project looking to migrate assets from L1 to L2 may first need to manually deploy a canonical bridged token on the L2 network assets, interact with a separate interface on the L2 network to bridge the assets and finally interact with another interface to provide Liquidity for the just migrated token. Each of these steps involves a different user interfaces, transaction format, and confirmation processes, creating a disjointed experience.

Many of these processes are manual, requiring users to actively monitor and manage each step of the migration. This not only increases the risk of errors but also demands a significant amount of time and attention from users. The lack of automation and integration between different stages of the migration process further exacerbates the complexity, making it difficult for users to seamlessly transition between L1 and L2 networks.

Addressing this problem will lead to a wide adoption of L2s and in turn enable developers to achieve the greater mission of onboarding a billion people onchain.

How are we building Supermigrate to accelerate the adoption of L2s?

Supermigrate aims to consolidate all necessary actions for migrating from L1 to L2 into a single, integrated platform. Our goal is to simplify and streamline the user/dev experience and make it simple for projects to get started on new L2 networks, here’s how:

• Deploying Canonical Tokens: We provide a straightforward approach for users to deploy their ERC-20 tokens on L2 networks, enabling projects and individuals to easily transition their assets and take advantage of scalability and reduced costs.

• Bridging Interface: Our platform integrates with the Superbridge app, allowing seamless asset transfers between L1 and L2 networks, enhancing user convenience and system interoperability.

• Liquidity and Incentives: Our platform integrates a liquidity interface that not only simplifies adding liquidity to newly deployed tokens on L2 platforms but also makes it easy for liquidity providers to find promising projects and support them. This interface ensures immediate liquidity for tokens post-migration and incentivizes providers with rewards for their contributions, enhancing both the adoption and functionality of L2 networks.
