Конечно, это не что-то новое. Махатма Ганди однажды сказал о христианской вере: «Мне нравится ваш Христос, но я не люблю ваших христиан. Ваши христиане так непохожи на вашего Христа». Резкая оценка Ганди заключалась в том, что слишком часто христиане не представляют Христа. Они не похожи на Христа. Они не воздают должное Христу. Они на самом деле отталкивают людей от Христа.

Был ли Ганди в чем-то прав?

Написав письмо К. С. Льюису о потенциальном обращении в христианство, автор Шелдон Ванаукен боролся именно с этим в своей книге «Суровое милосердие»:

Лучший аргумент в пользу христианства — христиане: их радость, их уверенность, их полнота. Но самым сильным аргументом против христианства являются также христиане — когда они мрачны и безрадостны, самодовольны и самодовольны в самодовольном посвящении, когда они узки и репрессивны, тогда христианство умирает тысячей смертей.

Свобода Способность любить и принимать других Снятие вины и стыда. Именно это и обещает христианство. Они лежат в основе христианской веры, но люди находят эти вещи намного дальше церкви. Что это нам говорит?

Не знаю, как вы, а вот что я делаю из исследования. Во-первых, эти бывшие христиане — люди настоящей внутренней целостности.
