Congratulations on joining the community, fellow Warpcaster (that's how we refer to those on the platform)! This guide aims to cover more advanced topics than my previous guide, as I hope you found my last article useful despite the numerous changes to the algorithm. From the initial "engage to earn" system to the current Power Badge criteria for visibility (and earning), and the potential shift towards holding $degen to earn in July (as per Wake's recent cast). Therefore, it's my intention to simplify the onboarding process in this guide, enabling you as a newbie to earn not just $degen but more, allowing to maximize your initial $5 investment without having to figure everything out on your own.

Since the start of Season 4 Airdrop on May 1st, many Warpcasters have noticed a significant decrease in their tipping allocation. Tippers have become less generous, and there's been an influx of bot accounts farming $degen airdrops (let's face it, you can't compete with bots that can cast 24/7 without needing sleep or having real-life obligations). Therefore, you need to be smarter than just working hard on liking, recasting, and replying to rewarding casts like in the good old days. Season 5 Airdrop (before Season 6 starts on July 4th) brings major changes, and you can learn more by reading Ryan's latest Ultimate FAQ (be sure to follow his updates for better strategies in each Season!😉).

To combat bots and address the airdrop farming issue, Dan (the founder of Farcaster) had to come up with the controversial Power Badge system, which is like Marmite - you either love it or hate it.

As you explore the Warpcast universe, you'll notice some users with a Purple Lightning badge at the end of their display name. This badge is awarded to only 3,000 to 4,000 selected users (less than 1% of the 700,000+ Warpcasters as of the current date) on the Warpcast platform. It serves as a filter for Dan, who works tirelessly to provide a sufficiently decentralized social network for all of us on Farcaster.

You might think of Power Badge holders as representatives in a parliament, speaking for the people. Just as a President can't personally attend to every citizen, Dan can't engage with every user. Imagine if you were in his position – wouldn't you feel overwhelmed if every time you opened the purple app, it was filled with content from almost everyone? The Power Badge system helps manage this information overload, don't you think? 😉

Therefore, the PB allows users to curate their feeds and interact with contents from other interesting PB holders when their priority mode is on. If you don't have a PB, your casts (as a newbie) will rarely appear on their main feed unless they follow you. That's why who you follow as a PB holder makes a huge difference, as what I've shared in my previous article about how my wallet got drained. Non-PB holders' casts might only appear if users click "Show more replies", or if the algorithm doesn't consider your cast as spam or bot activity.

Be cautious, these accounts are real to either farm the $degens/other tokens to make a living like I once heard that there are people who have few hundreds accounts and made over a couple millions $degens in the first 2 seasons, and some are scammers waiting for the right time to drain your wallet. Read my previous article for more if you are interested to know what happened and what to do to prevent yourself from falling prey to scammers. The good news is that @Varun (co-founder of Farcaster) mentioned that you can now report spammers or appeal if wrongly reported as one - a positive change from before.

I was lucky enough to obtain a Power Badge(PB) after initially being disqualified (can read about my story in my previous (In)complete Idiot's Guide ) until I was given a chance to play a part in the development history of Warpcast and the Farcaster Protocol, thanks to some of the most bleutiful people I met on the Warpcast Universe like @Agusti(yeah, I'm a Bleuliver🐘), @AM, @Ryan, @Pichi, @Stellabelle, @Undefined, @base, @kat, @frederick, @vlady, @beach, @kaleyn, @0xluo, @pdog, @wang and so many more. Some have lost their PB or don't bother getting one as they are just mfers (like @beach as @Pichi told him to follow some rules to get it back, but...😅). Rest assured, these people are worth following as their sharings will make you feel you are "L(earning)"(IYKYK😉) a lot every day.

With limited PBs to go around (yes, you can lose it too unless you are someone indispensable in the ecosystem like @vitalik, @brian or some of the OGs), not everyone is happy about the Power Badge system. It's not something you can pay for like the blue or gold tick on X (though I heard from Pichi's Farhouse i.e. Farcaster's version of Clubhouse that some are offering to sell their FID for 600 ETH!😮). So, if you wish to earn a PB, just put in the effort (mostly time to build trust with other PB holders) to cast in English (or your preferred language with some English). This helps because if those with higher Social Capital Value and Openrank can't understand your content, the algorithm might treat it as spam (see Dan's thought on spam) or bot activity, hurting your chance of getting a PB.

Maybe you'll not able to get immediate interactions with Dan, Vitalik or those in the top 100 rankings, but if you're genuine and interesting, just let nature takes its course. Remember, a Power Badge isn't the be-all and end-all. Choose wisely and engage in channels(use this information wisely😉) that allow you to interact with PB holders. Participate in Farhouse or some of the offline events like Farcon etc. to prove you're a real human being rather than a bot or someone with ulterior motives. It's not easy to gain people's trust without face-to-face interactions or more substantial online engagement. So, be patient and authentic in your approach.

There are also some guides that I will list in the Useful Resources Section below if you are interested to know more what are the insights by other PB holders who got theirs. However, nothing is certain, as we don't know how the algorithm might change in the coming days or weeks. So, just stay hungry, stay foolish, and learn as much as you can by being active in some important channels like /farcaster, /degentokenbase, /fc-updates. These channels will keep you informed and engaged with the community.

Apart from earning $degen through normal tipping, the Warpcast Universe(WCU) offers many opportunites compared to other social networks if you know where to look. Your chances of success here are higher as you're still very early on the platform. Imagine being among the 1st batch of influencers on Tiktok or Twitter when they just started with few thousands users, that's how early you are. Warpcast (on the Farcaster protocol) is definitely here to stay, and fade this at your own risk. Look at Dan's plan for integration with X and Varun's announcement of paying Warpcaster direcly with USDC, and you'll see how big Warpcast can become as more people getting onboard. It's just going to be more difficult for latecomers.

If you are lucky, you could even win a big paycheck of a few thousands $degens or more. However, watch out for accounts that just do airdrop farming. They might not have much of tipping allowance but trick people into liking, recasting and replying to get more allowance. The algorithm still rewards those whose original casts get more engagement, but these are often grandfathered accounts that you can't easily emulate, as they might be influencers invited by the founders. Even worse, some accounts require you to tip just to enter their lucky draw, raffle or game - whatever they want to call it. Stay vigilant and don't fall for these potential traps.

A simple way to avoid falling into this trap is to check their daily tipping allowance first using some simple frames or actions (you can only add up to 8 actions for now). Please don't blindly believe everything you see. I've personally minted many NFTs using those cool frames (Solana's latest Blinks is a copycat of our frames😼) because it's so easy. I've lost count of how many people I've tipped my $degen to who promised airdrops of their project's tokens, yet I haven't heard from them since, so don't FOMO and simply join anything you see, as you might never see your hard-earned money again.

Another way to earn more than just $degen is by being early in newly launched games like Alfafrens, Farcards, Uncuts, Wildcards, and many others that pop up like mushrooms. If you're super early, you stand a higher chance of making good profits compared to latecomers. However, instead of chasing everything you see popping up, just choose 1 or 2 games that you have the time and money to play. From my experience, there are many games that are usually designed to benefit those who get in early by obtaining insider information from the game developers. It's very rare to be early just by being lucky, so take your time to explore them yourself and make informed decisions.

There are also few more ways to earn on Warpcast platform. One is by participating in newly launched memecoins through Wagmi Fairlaunch. For example, I personally aped Bleu when it launched a month ago, and since then, I have become a "Bleuliver" and made friends with @Agusti and @AM because of it. I just like the meme (the self-care blue elephant) as it is the first memecoin on Alfafrens. Over time, I've gotten to know @Agusti better and bleulive in his character and capability to build Bleu into the next DOGE (Do Only Good Everyday), so if you want to be part of making history, feel free to check out what Bleu is all about and make an informed decision to hodl some tokens. @Agusti is one of the most generous dev I know, as he always has something to incentivise $Bleu holders by rewarding us for performing simple tasks like learning how to use a new lending site, create your Bleu NFT, playing Swaye or Meme-melee on /perl.

The other way to earn on Warpcast is by joining new and established channels and being active there, such as casting. Unfortunately, I can't list all of them as I don't have the time to cast in all those channels due to real-life obligations. I encourage you to explore some of these channels such as powerbadgecabal(highly recommended to get into their private groupchat if you hold one of their NFT) and the channel's own token yourself. You can refer to my last article in the Useful Frames or Resources Section for more information.

Other than that, there are some smart people who use Warpcast to sell their NFTs or services bundled with tips they've received, such as $TN100X(Ham), $Masks, $Farther etc. Use your own judgment when choosing which tokens to reward your supporters or customers when they purchase your NFTs or services as everyone has their own preferences. Additionally, there are grants available for Builders during this Onchain Summer. It doesn't matter whether you're a technical or artistic person – everyone is considered a builder when they contribute their time and resources to the platform.

I have reservations about sharing information on hub operators, but I think it's something you should be aware of in case you come across it. There have been some opportunists offering to help people run their own nodes, which has caused havoc in the past few days, so be cautious and do your research before engaging in such offers although they claim that you can farm more airdrops by having a node.

As the platform keeps evolving, I can't say how long the information I share here will stay relevant. I was struggling to think of how to write any more guides after my (In)Complete Idiot's Guide, but the first Farcaster writing hackathon hosted by Adrienne, Prof, Ted and YB really inspired me to contribute to the future of Farcaster.

I hope to see innovations introduced that fully unleash the potential of the Power Badge. It should be a mark of assurance that holders are trustworthy Warpcasters, not just scammers waiting to prey on victims. The days of giving out our wallet addresses or seed phrases to claim airdrops should be over. We need alternatives like encrypted methods (which I learned about at the recent Solana Summit I attended) or the Solana smart wallet with embedded biometrics and 2FA that scammers would find hard to decrypt.

There have been many unfortunate cases where people lost their hard-earned money due to scammers in the Warpcast Universe. The importance of cybersecurity shouldn't be ignored. Educating users about wallet hygiene is crucial, but without enforcement, it's like living in a world where citizens are told to be careful of crimes, but there's no police to catch criminals and put them behind bars. How can citizens feel safe, productive, and efficient in such a world? We need both education and protection to create a secure environment for users.

I hope we can also see some innovation in the Coinbase smart wallet. For instance, if our wallet is drained by scammers or hackers, we should be able to change the seed phrase or perform some form of recovery action to allow us to reuse the wallet. This is important because the on-chain transactions we've performed can be crucial for claiming airdrops or preserving the sentimental and functional value of that wallet.

The expanding Warpcast Universe is vast, and there are simply too many topics to cover in this little Complete Idiot's Guide to Warpcast. However, I hope that what I've shared so far can get you started on exploring the WCU further. Let's grow together in this exciting space! 🎩🫂

How It All Began?

It started with an unread message in my Direct Cast (Private Message) and thinking that my contribution for the community has been appreciated and being a nice guy, I politely replied to the sender thinking that no harm in saying hi and chat with him to understand what is the opportunity about coz as a freelancer without a steady income who recently just spent quite a large sum of money to sign up for a 3 months long creative art designing program over the weekend to enhance my skills so that I can provide a better life for the family, what have I got to lose by replying the message right?

So when I started to chat with him, I was quite sceptical at first as I still remembered Ashira’s, Ryan’s, Windy’s cases so I did take extra precautions to search further through the Link3 url he sent me.

First I checked on his Warpcast account, FID 541901 with 234 followers, seems like a not so new account and didn’t come across my mind to discriminate those who have or don’t have a Power Badge but what got my lowered my guard was when I saw he was also followed by some friends that I know like Fookinnowan (FID 206570), Mikki (FID 307820), DappyKit (FID 354669) who are way senior than me then I thought it should be ok for me to chat with him.

Then I asked him since he introduced himself as Sam but I don’t see the name in the team provided in the Dexisapp project, so he answered that he is using different name for the X account which is understandable as I also use different X accounts for Bleu and my personal X account that I hardly use since I registered the account last year. To be honest, Warpcast is the ONLY social media that I use on regular basis as it is the ONLY ONE that brings food to the table.

I even went further to check on the company Dexisapp which is an IT company incorporated in 2022 and the owner is an Ukrainian named Lazarev Oleg which I thought could be a refugee who fled to UK after the Ukraine-Russia war so doesn’t really bother much about who is the owner and when I used https://whois.com/whois to check the company worrying that it could be a phishing site that looks like the UK government site but later found that it is a legitimate UK Government site https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/14252701/, so thinking they can’t possibly hacked the UK government site to make up the company registration details right and I proceed to the final stage of the hack before it happened.

So here I was thinking that everything is fine so far and I just followed his message to register on the website using another email which is not the same as the one I created for my Warpcast wallet. And just to make sure I don’t download a virus/trojan, I even used both the https://virustotal.com/gui/home/upload and Microsoft antivirus to scan the downloaded file before I double click on it. I even have the Pocket Universe extension installed on my Chrome so I think I am quite well protected.

Out of courtesy, I even told him that they should optimise the website as it took me very long to load the page and thought it might be my internet speed that is causing the delay without realising something fishy is happening despite the he asked me to update my C++ driver (the error message when I double clicked the downloaded file) until I suddenly saw a Zerion logo appeared on my phone screen which usually notifies me if there’s a transaction being done.

So the first thing came to my mind was to use revoke.cash and I quickly went to the site but surprisingly I don’t see there is anything at all for me to revoke! I asked my amigo Agusti what should I do and he advised me to disconnect from the internet and savage whatever I can.

I am so shocked of such thing can happen, without any authorisation and signing of transaction message popping up in my browser, the wallet just got drained. I am not the person who like to give up easily so I searched the internet what could I have done wrong despite being careful with the DYOR, so I found this article which wrote that by just knowing your wallet address the scammer can drain your wallet, so I am thinking could it be that I have being a target for being too vocal about casting and quotecasting those scammers and hacking news over the past few days.

It’s not hard to know a person’s wallet address by using onchain analysis tools and luckily I manage to track down the wallet address of the scammer @huv (FID 541901), so I hope if I can’t recover the money, at least someone can track him down and freeze his account (0xC67BA349f1E5E2C55843a7273875b9282A9bcD2B) so that he can’t use any of the money he had stolen from me(and/or others) and banish him and his colleagues from Warpcast and X for good so that they can't cause anymore harm to people.

In summary, what I've learned is despite you are being careful and not feeling sleepy when doing any transactions, you still can fall into the trap of scammers and maybe it is time for us to change how we give away our wallet address for lucky draws or raffles, or even showing it publicly like when we nominating someone on Build, our wallet address is already exposed.

It's just matter of time people lose trust in any platform due to these bad actors, I know I might be nobody but the least I can do is to share this painful experience so that it can perhaps reach to the right person to make some changes on how we handle our wallet address or getting message from unknown stranger but followed by some people we trust.

Now, let’s talk about the big cheese, Vitalik Buterin(yes, the one and only Vitalik is an OG of Warpcast too with his FID at 5650😉), and his article “Degen Communism: The Only Correct Political Ideology.” He’s all about sharing the digital wealth, and guess what? Warpcast is THE answer! It’s the place where everyone gets a fair shot at the digital gold rush, trading $Degens like a boss.

So, what are you waiting for? If you still have not downloaded Warpcast yet, hop on the Warpcast bandwagon now and be part of something BIG. It’s not just an investment; it’s a revolution with a side of fun. And who knows? You might just be joining the ranks of the Bitcoin legends, one $Degen at a time.

Your adventure into the future of DeFi is just a click away. Sign up, get your wallet ready, and dive into the $Degen universe with the coolest cryptonauts around. If you are already on Warpcast but still don't know what are you getting into, keep on reading and I promise you that this Guide will serve as one of the best Maps for you to get the treasures by avoiding all the traps and get to your destination faster than if you were to embark on the journey on your own like I did! Let’s warp into a new age of economic equality and digital freedom, where everyone’s invited to the party.

Just a friendly reminder: while the treasure chest is brimming, make sure to map out your journey with care. In this article, I am stoked to have you join our merry band of OGs as you can see "We are so early" is everywhere right now on Warpcast. Welcome aboard the good 🚀ship of Degen Communism, where casting (forget that Tweeting thingy, that's so last century) is fun, and the destination is to the Moon🌕 and $higher! 🌟

So, just onboarding yourself and friends to Warpcast, where the digital party never stops, and your next big WIN is just around the corner. Let’s make some waves together! 💪🎩

What to do? First things first, head over to the Warpcast website (www.warpcast.com) or can use my referral link (both of us will get 50 Warps (Warp is the native cryptocurrency of Warpcast, functioning as the primary means of transaction in the marketplace which you will use it to cast in some exclusive channels like Base or to purchase some services like creating your own channel) upon sign up as a welcome bonus for being an early adopter) and click on the 'Sign Up' button. For more details on the signing up process, can read more on What Is Farcaster and How to Get Started With Warpcast at CoinGecko but make sure you are downloading the right one by Merkle Manufactory as shown in the images below.

Good news if you have a phone number in the following countries which can save you USD $5 sign up fee! This USD $5 is yearly subscription cost to discourage bots and cover onchain fees.

If you face any challenges during the sign-up process, feel free to reach out to me by leaving comments below or tag me in /Knowledgebase, /Degen, /Noob, /paidgroup, /Allowance, /Tips, /lp, /Appreciation, /replyguys, /chatbfg, /degentlemen, /houseofdegen, /wearesoearly, /perl, /suit, /welcome. These are some of the best channels to be in if you are a newbie and later I will share the trick to find the most happening channels that you can join and make some new friends along the way to help each other to get the treasures together, don't have the scarcity mentality, it's a different Universe here where everyone can win if we just help each other, remember that we are all comrades in this Degen Communism movement! 🫂🧑‍🤝‍🧑

Now you are onboard and joined those channels that I recommended, what's next then? When I started my journey, I had to explore the vast Warpcast Universe(WCU) all by myself but luckily you have this Guide now, so the next step is to follow the whales and swim with them as fast as you can as they have the most allocation to tip for all of us to get the $Degen points which will convert to $Degen coins that will be airdropped by end of Season 3 (end of April tentatively).

But wait! There is a very simple step you must do first before start to engage with the communities and follow the whales as not many are realizing this simple yet powerful step can help you to navigate the WCU(Warpcast Universe) easier than those who don't... 😎

Use a PC/Laptop to login to Warpcast instead of your mobile(phone) as you will not lose out a lots of features (such as Bookmarking the casts you want to refer back later, signing the transaction on your Metamask or other wallets for minting NFT etc.) and won't get that dizzy feeling with scrolling all the casts on that tiny screen(that dizziness😵 made me wanted to quit the app initially) until I found out what I was doing wrong which I wish someone would have told me about it instead of me figuring it out after so many sleepless hours wandering around in the ever expanding WCU on my phone...😢

I have created a video on Drakula (will share more about this Tiktok like app of Warpcast later) if you like to know about it by letting me know as this is another avenue where you can earn some $Degen and make the most out of your time in WCU.

After you have done that, the first thing you must understand is the concept of how to get the $Degen points which entitles you to earn that amount of $Degen coin at the end of Season 3 Airdrop if you are not financially able to buy the 10k $Degen (cost a few hundred USD now instead of just tens of dollars back then).

There are many useful resources that I don't want to keep on repeating here so I am including some of the best guides that I have come across in the WCU, so do go to connect with them and read about their casts and if you are lucky, follow them so that you can get some tips from them and pay it forward when you are able to do so. 😉🎩

I was struggling with minting my NFT on Zora at first due to lack of technical know how until I managed to find out the root cause (USE the PC/laptop instead of mobile😅) and I hope this sharing of mine will make you newbies to be successful in claiming some $DEGEN when Airdrop Season 3 is over by the end of April as I already disqualified due to my inadvert mistake of spamming (until now I still don't know which cast(s) of mine caused me to lose everything😢).

First and foremost, make sure you have some ETH ($10 should be sufficient) in your BASE network of your crypto wallet (Metamask is fine). If you don't know how to do that, can search by typing in the keyword "How to send ETH to Base network in Metamask?" (If you are using a CEX account, can buy some ETH there and choose Base Mainnet network to send to your Metamask/other wallet instead of the ERC-20 network to save on the high gas fees).

Minting an NFT on Zora involves the following steps:

1. Make sure you have a wallet (like MetaMask) with Ethereum (ETH) in it for gas fees.

2. Navigate to Zora's website and click on "Connect Wallet" in the top right corner. Select your wallet (MetaMask, for example), and follow the prompts to connect.

3. Once connected, click on "Create(the ➕ button)" on the top navigation bar.

4. You will see a form where you can upload your file (image, video, audio, or 3D model), and provide details about your work, including its name, description, and any additional attributes. Price set to 0 ETH and in order to fulfill the point no. 5 of 50/50 split on Zora, click on the View advanced options and refer to the following photo for better understanding of how to perform the step and remember to set the Mint limit per address to Custom (and type in 1). (USE a PC/laptop as there is no way to click the enter button to add the address on the phone!🥲)

5. After filling out all the necessary information, review your listed details carefully. If everything is correct, click "Mint".

6. A MetaMask notification will pop up asking you to confirm the transaction. Click "Confirm". The gas fee will be deducted from your wallet, and the NFT will start the minting process.

7. Wait for the confirmation message that your NFT has been successfully minted. This might take a few minutes depending on the network congestion.

8. Congratulations! Your NFT is now live on Zora and can be viewed, bid on, or bought by others, so cast to your Warpcast and @ tag Ciniz to let him know you've done the steps successfully. Remember to stay respectful to other artists' work and only mint content that you own or have the rights to. Happy minting!

With 293k+ users already onboard and growing faster than before, even Warpcast also can't prevent getting the wrong people onboard. I personally got scammed on WCU and found out too late of what to do, therefore I am sharing my experience so that you can avoid being scammed like I did.

The account will ask you to like or do something simple to be entitled for their coin and when you click on the frame, it will bring you to Zora to mint the NFT for only little money with the promise of airdropping the coins but when I checked on the date for the airdrop, the coins never arrived in my wallet and the NFT suddenly disappeared from my wallet after a few days. So please be careful and if you come across any suspicious accounts like this scammer, report them in the /police channel so that more people like Wake or other Top Casters know. Use the tools/frames I mentioned in the useful resources section to do your own due diligence.

Navigating the Warpcast Universe can seem daunting, but fear not, you're not alone in this. As a new user, it's crucial to understand some Dos and Don'ts that will guide your journey in this revolutionary platform. Always remember to secure your wallet ID and engage actively within the community. Conduct thorough research before clicking anything that might cause you to part with your hard earned money and ensure you diversify your investments to mitigate risks of rugpulls etc.(which I will share in another article). Never share your wallet ID with anyone and steer clear from scams promising outlandish returns.

To enhance your experience, utilize Warpcast's features like setting notifications(the 🔔 icon on the top right) so that you don't be the last to know about the latest free NFT minting, free airdrops etc. by those who got allowance to tip, those all mighty frames and actively participating in discussions without touching on sensitive topics such as hate speech etc. to avoid being disqualified.
