Here you go world…

Mise en Place

Equipment:

Loaf pan

Cutting board

Chef’s knife

Small skillet

Medium bowl

Wooden spoon if you don’t want to use your hands

Ingredients:

~1.5lb ground meat (beef, turkey, lamb, etc.)

EVOO

1/2 onion, chopped (white, red, yellow, etc.)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup ketchup or BBQ sauce of choice

A few dashes of Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon of seasoning (Italian seasoning is simple, easy, and always available, so this is my go-to)

1 teaspoon of kosher salt

1/2-3/4 cup of breadcrumbs (depending on preference)

1 egg

Instructions

Heat oven to 350F

Heat olive oil on low/medium heat in skillet, cook onion until translucent, but I personally like to caramelize a bit

Add garlic for 30 seconds and cook until fragrant then cool the mixture

In medium bowl mix together cooled onion/garlic mixture with all other ingredients

Put mix in loaf pan or form into loaf on banking sheet

Brush additional ketchup/BBQ sauce on top of loaf

Bake ~50-60 minutes until cooked (time varies depending on meat)…check Google, but for ground turkey/chicken I shoot for 165F

Remove from oven and cool for a few minutes otherwise you’ll burn your mouth and be pissed (learn from my mistakes)

Other Notes:

I call it “Mystery Meatloaf” because I mix and match ingredients based on what I have in my fridge, but recipe above is my go-to mix, if you will

Have fun and get creative with mixing and matching

If you learned something or tried this recipe, like this post, share it, let me know what you think!

I still don’t quite know what I’m doing here on mirror :) ************************
