The screen freezes. Everything gets slow and annoying.

Your brain works the exact same way.

When you’re trying to think of a cool new idea for your project, but you’re also thinking about an email you forgot to send, a meeting you have tomorrow, and what you’re having for dinner your brain starts to lag.

In the world of Web3, we call this mental clutter. I just call it a messy bedroom.

The Brain Dump Trick

When your bedroom is so messy that you can’t find your favorite toy, what do you do? You don’t just sit there. You pick everything up off the floor and put it where it belongs.

A Brain Dump is just cleaning your mental room. Here is how I do it:

Grab a piece of paper. (A real one, not a screen!)

Write down everything. Write down the big stuff, the small stuff, and the “I’m worried about this” stuff. Just get it out of your head and onto the paper.

Give every thought a home. Once it’s on the paper, look at it. Is it a task? Put it on your to-do list. Is it just a random worry? Cross it out. Is it a great idea for later? Save it in a notebook.

Why this makes you a better leader

When you move your thoughts onto paper, your brain finally feels permission to relax. It stops trying to remember everything and starts actually thinking.

The best founders aren’t the ones who try to remember 1,000 things at once. They are the ones who keep a clean “mental room” so they have space to build big things.

Want to turn your messy thoughts into great stories?

I’m Temi. I take the “messy bedrooms” of Web3 founders and turn their best ideas into clear, beautiful blogs and emails.

If your brain feels a little too full today, you can send a mail to cletustemitope@gmail.com
