As Terra Movie Club released the 1st Sandbox movie called ‘Ok-nim Begins’, TMC discord members were alerted with the following very interesting (but not unusual for TMC) announcement.

As TMC made it plenty clear in our previous writings, our vision and belief are strongly in the web 3 content: let’s unlock the most potent of human power, and creativity with blockchain and create a system of profit-sharing to build a sustainable and strong ecosystem of web 3 entertainment.

Without fail, this week has been another busy but supremely meaningful week in Terra Movie Club. And that is not just because

1. TMC community has voted for the winners of the LunaToon Seasons 3 story contest. With the 1st place winner receiving one of the rarest Ok-nim on the market ‘Devil Ok-nim’, all winners’ stories will be made into moving cartoons nft with 30% of the profit from the sale of each episode going to the winners.

2. Ok-nim Begins, the 1st sandbox movie, has been released and within 2 days accumlated more than 2.4k views with support from communities in The Sandbox, Voxel artists, Terra and more.

3. Speaking of LunaToon winner, one of the LunaToon S03 story contest winners @homies_nft who is also the creator of one of the homiest communities in Terra, Homieverse, decided to give back to Terra Movie Club proving that there’s no place like Homieverse for giving back to the community and sponsoring this week’s NFT LIVE with the custom Homiverse nftcelebrating Ok-nim, LunaToon, and all the homies…

Congrats to LunaToon Season 3 Winners

Again, we have much to be thankful for the success of the LunaToon S03 story contest, first of all for those who have submitted their stories of nft and crypto that made us all smile.

NFT LIVE 05: Homieverse special

Who would have thought the homiest community in Terra be one of the winners of a community event sharing stories of Lunatics?

Turns out one of the winners of the LunaToon S03 story contest is the very creator of Homieverse, rumored to be the homiest community in all of Terra. And true to its name, @homies_nft graciously, volunteered to sponsor one special NFT (custom made for TMC!) to give back to the community for this week’s NFT LIVE!

Homieverse, started from the positive energy it received from the nft place, and continuing the mission of building strong, sustainable families in the NFT world is a project spreading positivity to all of Terra. (Check out their full story here)

TMC has taken a step towards taking decentralized content creation to the metaverse!

From moving cartoon NFT with a crowdsourced story and embedded profit sharing of LunaToon, Terra Movie Club has taken a step towards expanding the decentralized content creation scope to the metaverse and ..even further?

The 1st Sandbox movie created by Terra Movie Club tells the story familiar to the TMC community which is the Ok-nim origin story. The movie starred by adorable Ok-nim in fully voxelated form captures the story’s irony, readiness, and humor.

How the ambitious corn from the rural corn-field dream of popping in the theatre and struggle to make its dream come true.

And when it’s just about the get within the grip of achieving that dream, the force outside of its control, the pandemic, swipes away all it has achieved. But does our corn give up? No!

TMC is not above being inspired by its creation, and we genuinely love and are excited by what we have created.

This Sunday, our regular metaverse dance party / nft lottery is gonna be hotter than ever, because, in addition to the scheduled fun, we are having a premiere of the first Sandbox movie ever, produced by Terra Movie Club and will be serialized by TMC community.

First of all, if you are not familiar with NFT LIVE with TMC lottery it is an exciting new live event exploring NFT projects with a chance to go home with an NFT at the end of the show.

Storytellers and Judges ?!

With the LunaToon season 3 story contest closed last Tuesday, we have now started the new exciting phase of LunaToon season 3 story creation…. Winner selection process!

And for this season, we are now even closer to our goal of decentralized content creation by inviting Terra Movie Club’s Ok-nim holders as the judges of this season.

LunaToon is a project applying decentralized content creation, and from S03 we are introducing another decentralization to LunaToon production by inviting Ok-nim holders to be the judges of LunaToon Season 3 winners.

Amongst many Lunatoon3 submissions, the TMC team has narrowed down 10 stories to be judged by Ok-nim holders. The 10 stories were selected based on their adaptability for making it into moving cartoons.

So yesterday, the following messages have been posted on TMC Discord server’s Lunatoon Season 3 Poll channel.

LunaToon Season 3 Story Contest is closed. Now, who will be the seven winners? YOU choose!

From LunaToon S03, Ok-nim holders can cast one vote amongst the 10 selected submissions. Ok-nim holders who participated in the winner selection will get 50 points. The seven stories with the most votes by Ok-nim holders will be made into LunaToon S03 NFTs !

NFT Vision

Do you find it difficult to look at anything without thinking,“…can this be an nft?”

Does your family or friend come to you and ask“…can this be an nft too?”

Or it could be something like when you’ve played too much Tetris and see everything as floating blocks that can be fitted together. After realizing the opportunities of web 3, you might be thinking “what opportunity can I find here?”

as if you are trying to find a fit in the emerging market like you are finding a fit in a Tetris.

This was a story that many of us can empathize with, told succinctly by @brunos_hook as a submission for LunaToon Season 2 Story contest.

Made into a wonderful episode where a farmer (perhaps in Anchor?) sees NFT everywhere (in nature, in his produce, and his tools).

And in another episode, you see an artist who made it with his vision in drastic difference to his dad, an image of a striving artist that many people thought as the artists’ given lot until web3 presented a different path.

The funny submission by @JAnisland16 says as much.

@JAnisland16’s submission got us in stitches and got his or her story made into nft as well as 20% of its sales profit

And last but not least, the story as old as crypto, the double life of salery man who has a dream as big as the moon.

This episode tells the story of a person who is working late at night, looking up, and finding a strength in their plan b(.luna?).

This was a submission by @lucy11720132, and it’s short but poetic story was made into a humorous but very much recognizable image to many of us, a double life with its obligatory mix of struggle + passion + dream.

All of these LunaToon episodes we are so proud to be part of.

March 27th Sunday the fateful day

March 27th Sunday was the first-ever broadcast of NFT LIVE With TMC,

a live show hosted by Virtual Youtuber Ok-nim,

exploring the world of NFT with the community in real-time.

And for the inaugural episode of NFT LIVE with TMC, Terra Movie Club decided to stick to the letter to the T;

and invited TMC holders as a guest and hosted a global AMA on Terra Movie Club’s* metaverse gallery on cryptovoxel*.

And that was the beginning of the most epic of AMAs ever seen on IRL or Metaverse.

What happens at metaverse stays at metaverse..

At 3:40 pm (KST), VTuber Ok-nim started the broadcast with a polite bow and slightly inappropriate virtual dancing.

The live broadcast was available through the link posted on TMC’s discord channel, and anyone could join with a Discord login.

Quickly, within minutes of NFT LIVE starting, a rogue (but well-known and well-loved) member from Terra Movie Club joined the metaverse stage located on the roof of TMC gallery in cryptovoxel and started camera bomb with the most spectacular dancing.

Ok-nim, a little surprised but with barely contained joy, temporarily moved the screen, but apparently couldn’t stay away from enchanting dancing by TMC holders and joined the metaverse stage again, and now the metaverse was beginning to fill up with other members of TMC.

Ever since the announcement of NFT LIVE with TMC, and especially the first episode was dedicated to the TMC community, TMC has said that the event is for fun and enjoyment of the community.

But to witness such unfettered fun on metaverse was a new and fun experience that even as we were planning the event never imagined.

And when at 4 pm KST the NFT LIVE lottery winners were announced there was a wave of congratulation in the chat, discord, and on metaverse, basically wherever TMC members were.

VTuber Ok-nim was answering questions that were coming up in real-time, dancing with the members on the metaverse stage, and laughing its virtual head off at the same time.

And at the end of the live broadcast, there were several members blowing kisses and laughing together. No better first event we could have imagined.

Virtual life-affirming experience

TMC is bullish on trying new projects, onboarding ourselves to new ideas, and the main, perhaps the only reason we can be so bullish on trying new stuff is because of our community support.

In a way, this NFT LIVE was one of these new projects we were trying, and to see the support from the community in real-time, physically manifested on metaverse was such a virtual life-affirming experience.

This week, another adventure

This week, NFT LIVE with TMC is moving forward with our original intent of exploring a new nft project with the community and inviting a Terra NFT project “Project Moonwalk — Lunar 6 dragon” to explore their project on a virtual stage as well as play lottery with the winner going home with Lunar 6 dragon’s nft to top the fun experience off.

And after the epic experience of the last time, TMC is more than excited to meet our community on metaverse again and see them dance like they never danced on metaverse before…

Growing & Popping : TMC Story

Hi! We are Terra Movie Club.

Maybe some of you have seen this very good looking corn (a.k.a Ok-nim) on Twitter, Youtube, TikTok, Instagram..or in your local farmer’s market..

Ok-nim is our mascot and a spirit animal cereal.

The idea of Ok-nim began long time ago with a vision to integrate blockchain technology and the contents industry. Even before there was a first NFT of Ok-nim, we were working on the blockchain IP market and released a Watchparty solution that is still an integral part of TMC, bringing people together with shared passion.

And the two love of TMC makes us who we are, and foundational in how we GROW as a community.

Growing Together : Alway Be Onboarding

What makes TMC strong is when our members come for NFT and stays for Watchparty or join for Watchparty and falls in love with NFT.

So, for TMC, onboarding is important not just to grow, but also to make a stronger community.

What is Watchparty?

What made Terra Movie Club such a passionate advocate in community experience and to pursue Watch 2 Earn vision is also reflected on Terra Movie Project’s very own NFT, a corn called Ok-nim whose backstory is as follows…

“Corn Ok-nim from rural cornfield fulfills his childhood dream of becoming a high-end popcorn by joining a movie theater. However, unlike a glamorous dream, the COVID-19 swept shut the movie theater….”

It all starts from the fact that Terra Movie Club team’s expertise and experience in blockchain and content industry; and that we are freaks and geeks with a vision to elevate content industry with new technology.

That’s why we have developed a OTT solution that anyone can use to participate and host an watchparty for watching contents from streaming service like Netflix and Disney Plus with friends. And our solution has added function for Ok-nim NFT holders with more utilities on its way. That’s how with the solution (participants can login with Discord too) we were able to bring many Terra NFT projects together as well as exposed them to new audiences.

Amongst Terra NFT projects, we are most well known for our collab watch parties where Terra NFT projects and followers gather to watch movies, tv shows, animes or concerts together and also win NFTs or WL spots, as part of Terra Movie Club’s vision of Watch 2 Earn.

With over 2,000 people participated in our watchparty, Terra Movie Club brought together various communities through entertainment and further bonded us as Terra ecosystem members. And of course, that enjoyment also included NFT Lottery for some of the newest and hottest projects in Terra.

NFT LIVE with TMC and Lottery

In NFT LIVE, Ok-nim will explore a new exciting NFT project with audience in real time and at the end of the show announce the community lottery winners with prizes including an NFT and UST.

The live show will be available through the invite link on the TMC Discord channel and hosted through TMC’s watchparty solution.

The lottery ticket will be available for purchase on TMC Discord with TMC activity points which can be collected by participating in watchparties or discord activities. The ticket sale will be closed 90 minutes before the live broadcast.

Fun and Game AND healthy economy

TMC likes fun and game. We like watching movies and chatting with our community (who we think is the most interesting group of people out there…)

But for us nothing is ever just fun and game. Because if you care for a sustainable and healthy community, your priority is very much on establishing a sustainable and healthy economy.

And as an enthusiastic participant of web 3.0 community. Valuing users’ participation and contribution to a sustainable economy is something TMC takes very seriously.

Vision for Watch2Earn economy

One of the reasons we are here is that we want to change how web 2 platforms have treated user’s data.

In the current web 2 information economy, platforms very much recognize the value of users’ data for their service or product but create a ‘free’ economic structure so users are encouraged to use their service for ‘free’ by giving their information ‘free’.

This creates a distorted information economy where the source material for value creation i.e. information itself is not priced at all. As a result, we now have a shadowy and exploitative economy around people’s data.

And we think that one of the biggest advantages of web 3 is the ability and willingness to acknowledge that behind data there are people and their participation, which improve the product and service; therefore, could and should be compensated.

For example, ‘watch’ doesn’t just mean a closed-loop activity where the user’s participation doesn’t make any contribution. By watching, people’s participation can help improve the software or the platform system or help curate content with their participation or help create an attractive community that is valuable to belong to.

Ultimately, TMC wants to implement an economy where user contribution is fairly compensated and reinvested.

Implementing TMC’s Watch2Earn economy

So the lottery, in a way is part of our effort to introduce a sustainable economy and establish a functioning watch2earn economy reflecting this vision.

TMC Discord members when they participate in community activities like collab watch parties and daily discussion can earn points within our server.

This point system is introduced to fine-tune TMC’s Watch2Earn economy before introducing its own token and to reward the early hodlers with their support and patience.

And with NFT LIVE with TMC, we are introducing the spending feature in the point economy which will be the guiding example when TMC introduces a token.
