Back then, Einstein was saying:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”

I didn’t get it too much. But now, maybe I’ve started to understand a bit.

As most of us know, AI is rising fast in fact so fast that majority of people can't catchup. Billion dollars or maybe trillion dollars is at stake on the AI development race. This super fast development bring us the tools that we can't imagined even in the last decade, its like bring a new tools to shape the world specially the digital world.

In the era of AI, people can create so many things, from simple ones like essays to complex ones like apps or systems. Back then, people needed to know how to code well enough to build an app or system. Now, we can vibe-code it on an AI code builder. It’s an insane barrier breaker to enter digital world goldmines.

But all of this is a waste if the one who uses it doesn’t have imagination, IMO.

I'm not gonna talk far away to take an example, I'm gonna take myself as an example. This is a bit embarrassing but this is my kind of way to reflect and express my frustration that haunt me lately. The question that haunt me is like "There is so much tool out there to make a literal apps, system or anything that useful, why I don't start to make something? why I'm stuck? why I don't have any idea?" this is not delightful (if u need to know what I feel during those thought).

And here it is why I think imagination is so important lately, because lack of imagination literally keep you shackled and didn't start anything because nothing on your mind as of you lack of imagination. I lost at imagining what I need to do, what I need to work to, I fail to imagine what problem I can resolve. That's bad, really bad.

While I'm blaming myself for this, I started to reflect, what if my imagination working at least more proper than right now, I must be working on something right now, I must be on my way to solving a problem, even it's not a big of a problem at least I working on something that useful with all this incredible tools around.

So, in the era of an abundance of tools, not having imagination will burden you with more and more guilt, and in the end will make your sense of problem-solving and creativity reduce, and you’ll end up as a consumer forever.

I just found a ‘DeFi Researcher’ hiring form and bamboozled by the question because it make me reflect my own thought on defining ‘useful’ DeFi content.

Citing Interview questions form from @thedefiedge in their search for a DeFi Researcher:

What's your story? Tell us about yourself, why you’re interested in this role, and why we’d be crazy not to hire you. (Under 1000 characters)

—> This question make me realize that if I want to hired, I need a story. A well written story. The “we’d be crazy not to hire you” hit really hard, it’s new term for me and I think this is a good one to (de)motivate the candidate (really I mean in a (both) good way).

Tell us about any relevant work experiences/educational qualifications or specific knowledge (e.g. coding) that make you suitable for this role

Share 3 examples of writing you've done (Threads, Substack, Articles, etc.)

—> Simple question yet make me realize we need experiences, we always need that if we want to grow and chase a new and bigger opportunity. This trigger me to documented my experiences well enough in case I need it in the future.

—> Writing, crucial thing in thinking (hah, that good one!). Well documented of your thinking process in form of writing is important and can be ‘great attachment in situation like this. That’s why I’ve try to documented it as good as I can (right no using Paragraph for publishing, Notion for draft and take note).

Describe a trade or investment you made in 2025.

Making money or losing money is fine. We want to understand your analysis before the trade, managing the trade, and exiting the trade. What were the lessons from this trade? What did you learn?

Hint: Write this as if you were writing educational content to teach someone else as if it’s a post mortem

—> When I first try to learn DeFi, my first and the only one motivation is to make money. So this question bring me back to question myself and realize I didn’t make analysis for my own trade and investment, it makes me feel like I’m on free fall of crypto investment and bit embarrassed to call myself “DeFi enthusiast” or such a thing. Something to learn here is: always make your own investment or trade analysis. Better write it somewhere and you can learn from your past.

Create a "Chart of the Week" and write an insightful story to explain this chart, and what trading strategy or investment thesis one can implement from it.

Sharing a screenshot from DeFiLlama isn't Alpha. I want us to find interesting patterns on our own and share insight from it.

Hint: I love stories from https://www.chartr.co/newsletters. You can paste the image or attach an imgur.com file for the Chart.

—> Of all the question in the form, this one really hit the spot in me. Why? because I think going to scan some metrics on DeFiLlama, digest it to insightful info and post it is meaningful or at least interesting because a lot of people on CT just reposting or recycling information they find on X.

And now I know it’s not that interesting because sharing a screenshot from DeFiLlama isn't Alpha

I need to work out some more researching material or technic to find what people think interesting enough to be an Alpha information.

Do you think the cycle tops in 2025 or 2026? Explain why, and build a generic portfolio to take advantage of this.

Hint: Consider macro trend data and psychology markers to reinforce where you believe we are in the market cycle. Then consider specific tokens, their risk profiles, any yield properties, and appropriate % allocations on a relative basis to construct your portfolio.

—> This question I think it’s a bit more general to the crypto market then to DeFi, but you can be a great DeFi researcher if you ignore the broader picture, do you?

So this question makes me reflect that understanding broader context like cycles, risk profiles, investment allocation can support your understanding and better decision to make on DeFi landscape.

Prepare an investment pitch for any crypto asset under 50m marketcap:

The pitch can include (but not limited to):

Team

Why it’s interesting

Upcoming catalysts

Tokenomics

The investment thesis

Risks

—> Well, I imagined if I can be good DeFi researcher enough, this task is easy peazy for me. I can easily create an investment pitch and include a lot of interesting thing on it to present to potential investor. If I can make something like this I think it will be really easy to grow a business and to make money.

Describe your process for identifying emerging crypto trends on X, including how you would gather data, verify credible sources, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for our content strategy.

Provide a specific example of a recent crypto trend you’ve observed on X and explain how you would advise us to leverage it to engage our audience effectively

—> Again, question like this make me question my own technic (which is messy and basically random) on analyzing trend. I reflect that I need more systematic analysis system to identify trend so I can use again and again with better or improved result.

I hope this not waste your time to read a reflection like this, I found this really awesome for me as a ‘newbie’ so I try to documented it basically for me in the future (to commemorate I’m this noob who learn from a job hiring question).

Learn more to earn more,
Stay sharp, fren!

With more and more companies /DAOs adopting crypto, DAT is inevitable. But, why it's matter for us?

Key topic:

What is DAT?

Why Companies/DAOs Use DAT?

Why DAT Matters for Us?

1. What is DAT?

In simple terms, a Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) is the pool of digital assets -- tokens, stablecoins, BTC, ETH, or other crypto holdings -- that an organization owns and strategically manages.

If we draw a parallel to the traditional world:

Let say XYZ a tech startup might raise $20M in venture funding and keep it in a bank account, bonds, or money market funds or a DAO or crypto protocol, after a token launch or fundraise, might hold the same amount in USDC, ETH, or its native token.

Without DAT, those funds just sit idle, exposed to volatility and earning 0% yield.

With DAT, the same funds are deployed into strategies that preserve value, generate income, and extend runway -- all managed transparently on-chain.

In other words: DAT is the savings and investment arm of crypto organizations.

2. Why Companies and DAOs Use DAT?

The motivation for adopting DAT goes far beyond chasing yield. It’s about survival, growth, and professionalism.

Sustainability First

Treasuries provide a lifeline.

For DAOs or protocols, generating even a modest 4–5% annual yield on stablecoin reserves can fund developers, contributors, and ecosystem initiatives -- without the need to constantly sell governance tokens.

This sustainability protects both the project and its token holders from unnecessary dilution.

Capital Efficiency

Idle capital is wasted capital.

With DAT, every dollar in the treasury can be put to work — whether that’s earning yield through RWAs (real-world assets like tokenized T-bills), providing liquidity, or staking in a secure environment.

This transforms reserves from a passive safety net into an active growth engine.

Risk Management & Diversification

Crypto treasuries are often dangerously concentrated in their own token.

If market prices fall, the treasury collapses alongside it — a scenario that has sunk multiple projects in the past.

DAT strategies introduce diversification: converting a portion of holdings into stablecoins, allocating to RWAs, or using structured DeFi products to hedge against volatility.

3. Why DAT Matters for Us?

With more and more companies/DAOs practicing DAT, its impact touches every participant like in this crypto industry:

Healthier Projects = Safer Investments

A project with a well-managed treasury can weather bear markets, pay contributors, and continue shipping products. For token holders, this translates into lower risk of collapse and higher confidence in the project’s longevity.

Ecosystem Growth & Innovation

Treasury income allows DAOs to fund grants, community initiatives, and ecosystem development. As an everyday user, we directly benefit from the products, tools, and features that treasury-funded teams build.

DAT Tools are Accessible to Individuals

Many DAT strategies (like stablecoin yield vaults or tokenized T-bills) are not limited to DAOs. Retail users can access the same products, giving them exposure to safe, transparent yield that mirrors institutional treasury strategies.

The line between “institutional” and “individual” finance is blurring. DAT is a big reason why.

Final Thoughts

Crypto’s early days were fueled by speculation and high-risk bets. But as the industry grows, sustainability is becoming the new narrative.

Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) represents this shift.

It’s how DAOs and companies ensure survival, how ecosystems continue to innovate, and how everyday users gain access to safe, transparent yield.

If DeFi was about making finance open and permissionless, then DAT is about making it durable and future-proof.

The projects that embrace DAT today are the ones most likely to still be around tomorrow. And as an individual, understanding this trend helps you spot which ecosystems are built to last.

Read and write this aiming to understand more about crypto industry.

Learn more to earn more,

Stay sharp, fren!

The Nature of Shiny Object Syndrome (SOS)

Have u before feel like having a tendency to chase what looks new, exciting, and promising—while neglecting what you already committed to?

That's what Shiny Object Syndrome (SOS) is.

At its core, SOS is driven by novelty bias.

Our brains are wired to pay attention to new stimuli because, historically, novelty often signaled opportunity or danger. In modern life, however, this instinct can backfire. A new tool, idea, or project feels more rewarding than the “boring” but necessary work of sticking with something until it bears fruit. That quick dopamine hit from exploring something fresh can easily override discipline and focus.

It’s important to stress that SOS isn’t inherently bad. In fact, curiosity and openness to novelty are essential traits for innovation.

In the context of crypto, where hype cycles, innovation and everything in it move faster than anywhere else, SOS becomes even more relevant.

2. Why Crypto is the Perfect "Breed Ground" for SOS

I think u know why..

Few industries produce as much excitement, noise, and constant change as the world of digital assets.

Every week (or maybe days), this industry brings something new:

Token launch promising 100x returns,

Fresh Layer 2 boasting lower fees,

Narrative shift from DeFi to NFTs, then from AI tokens to Real-World Assets (RWAs) and now into Prediction Market.

The sheer pace of innovation creates an environment where it feels dangerous to stand still. If you’re not chasing the next big thing, you might feel like you’re missing out.

Several factors make crypto in position of uniquely prone to SOS:

Rapid innovation cycles: crypto evolves in lighting speed, there is literally entire sectors that can rise and fall in a matter of month (ex: NFT, AI coin, memes coin)

Low barriers to entry: Anyone with an enough knowledge to download an app or wallet can ape into a new token within minutes. This accessibility fuels constant experimentation but also amplifies distraction. And this space is up for 24/7 (perfect for degen).

FOMO Culture: The “fear of missing out” is amplified by social media and influencers, making every new shiny project look like the opportunity of a lifetime. Especially those screenshot of bigbags-shining-mouthwaterdrooling PnL.

This mix of innovation, hype, accessibility, and fear creates the perfect breeding ground for SOS.

Investors hop from token to token, liquidity farmers chase slightly higher yields, and even builders are tempted to pivot their projects just to align with the latest buzzword.

3. How SOS Shows Up in Today’s Crypto Market

It’s one thing to define Shiny Object Syndrome in theory, but in crypto, the signs are everywhere:

Narrative hopping: always moves to newest/hottest narrative

Liquidity cashing: always moves fund to chase higher APY/APR

Retail trap: buying top and left retail holding the bag

Media and KOL amplification: every new narrative/project they label as "next big thingy"

4. How BJ-HR Avoid Falling into SOS as an "Investor"

Even with those $2 ETH in your wallet, u still count as an Investor if u doin Investing activity, in crypto, right? (there is still hope!)

If Shiny Object Syndrome is unavoidable in crypto’s high-noise environment, the real question is: how do you manage it?

I offer u my BJ HR strategy:

B — Build a Thesis
Don’t ape everything. Build a map and stick to it.

J — Journal the Shiny Stuff
Write down new projects instead of instantly jumping in. (Call it your “Shiny Object Parking Lot.”)

H — Hard Questions First
Ask: does it solve anything, or is it just another hype for nothing?

R — Risk with Intention
Small bags for experiments, big conviction for what you know.

By applying these practices, we as an investors can stay open to innovation without becoming victims of distraction.

In crypto, discipline doesn’t mean ignoring shiny objects—it means knowing when to explore and when to focus and when in doubt jus BJ-HR it!

5. Finding Balance of Curiosity & Discipline

I agree at the end of the day, crypto without curiosity would be boring.

If everyone ignored shiny objects, we’d never have discovered DeFi, NFTs, or Layer 2s, Prediction Market, etc. Chasing new ideas is what makes this space exciting—and sometimes, hugely rewarding.

But what we need to remeber is curiosity without discipline is just chaos.

That’s how portfolios get wrecked, projects lose direction, and attention spans get shorter than meme coin lifespans

And when the SOS times comes to you, remember the BJ-HR survival guide to avoid it:

Build a thesis

Journal the shiny stuff

Hard questions first

Risk with intention

Crypto will always and always have shiny objects.

The winners aren’t the ones who chase them all—they’re the ones who know which ones to ignore, and which one to hold when everyone else gets distracted.

Hope all of us can stay sharp and practice BJ-HR,

Thanks for reading this nonsense!
