We used to say that blockchain would disrupt finance. Then came supply chain, healthcare, education... and now, it seems, presidential campaigns.

Today’s Wall Street Journal headline says it all:“The Trump family’s crypto business: The administration will regulate the tokens it sells.”

Let’s pause on that for a second.

The sitting President of the United States invites holders of his meme coin — $TRUMP — to a private dinner in his golf club near Washington. Access to the president, tokenized.

The token supply? 80% controlled by affiliated wallets.Revenue? Over $300 million has already been generated, according to Chainalysis.Key holders? 19 of the top 25 investors bought in via offshore exchanges, inaccessible to U.S. citizens.

Foreign capital. Political access. Tokenized influence.

Here’s the punchline: The same administration that benefits from this token is preparing to regulate the crypto market.

Are we witnessing digital fan engagement — or a new form of lobbying? When “community” becomes a pipeline for capital and access, what does that mean for democratic accountability? Can any regulator be neutral when their financial ecosystem is on-chain?

We’ve entered a moment where Web3 is not disrupting power —it’s being absorbed by it, repackaged as “community,” and resold at market rate.

This isn’t about one man or one party. It’s about how easily new tech can be used to recreate old hierarchies — but now with hashtags and wallets instead of gatekeepers and lobbyists.

We were promised decentralization. What we got, in some cases, is programmable nepotism.

If you're here, you're watching this too . Let’s name it clearly — and ask what comes next.

https://opensea.io/assets/ethereum/0xEe164990c567689567D5C6BAE833F561146a2b4A/0
