The top holders of Azuki are pretty much hall-of-fame level, packed with influential figures in the NFT space. It seems they’re actively supporting anime culture, judging from their ENS or profile: @Rewkang @LastKnightEth @10xray @konger_eth @dingalingts.

Always love to see dedicated collectors who took profit from the Apes and hoarded their loved ones🐱

@10xray exemplifies a better balance between taking profit from the Azukis and diamond-handing the rest: Absolutely no conflicts between being an anime enthusiast & a profitable trader in his case.

The ATH sale in the history of Azuki (probably all anime NFT) happened in January 2022. Where #9605, spirit Spike with all gold accessories, was sold from @trebooomin (proud leader of @underground) to @Bitcoin4Freedom for a mind-blowing 420 ETH! We all love Cowboy Bebop, aren’t we?🤠

If we take a closer look at the trading history of Azuki #9605. @trebooomin was also acquiring it at a price that scares the shit out of most people: 120ETH from bird.vault.gg. A bold move rewarded with 300ETH realized profit. That’s how we define a TRUE DEGEN!

The Story Cat keeps digging in: far beyond that, @Battlepoops paper-handed this one for 2.74ETH. We might all be going to paper-handed some legends in our degen career. Better take profit than no profit, right? 💪

The patterns of top Azuki are fun as well:

👻 Spirit Hunting: as the spirit is the rarest type, spirit-zuki is taking the lead in prices;

🪙 Gold Digging: Though “Golden” features are split around multiple traits, people are keen on gathering all kinds of gold accessories;

The Fractionalized Anime NFT

Fun derivatives of the Azuki include @BobuBeanFarmer, a fractionalized Azuki. There're die-hard anime enthusiasts among Bobu holders, such as @0xSeraph_. However, some other top Bobu holders have differences in taste judging from their vault: @theDeadBubble @MrRichardGarcia @JackSitt.

Just like Bobu, ERC-1155s are experimental in nature. @shibuyaxyz by @pplpleasr1 @maciej_kuciara offers a producer pass for an anime. By owning fractionalized NFTs, holders get to vote for the narratives of the future Chapter. Dope ideas and beautiful works of art!

Another Leading Figure - PXN: Ghost Division

Check out the impressive Hunting Diary of @DeFi_Brian. His not only a successful degen with 870ETH+ realized profit, but also the notable founder of @soundmintxyz - an innovative music NFT project for vinyl lovers. A builder by day, a degen by night.

Although they didn’t release their mint in the prime bull market, PXN still managed to achieve some legendary sales: dope ectoplasma #7566 for 43ETH. The piece of art was then flipped for only 17ETH in a day. @9gagceo did a nice snipe here:

Muri: A Work of Art

@MuriNFT by @fabrik is among the top projects that introduce anime aesthetics on-chain. And they’re still actively building 2D mangas to 3D figures. Excited to see how it is going to turn out.

Among top holders of Muri, we’ve seen anime collectors & degens, including @CryptopolitanG @Furyoku0x1 @tonkaNFTs. Shout out to the ANIME culture!

The NFT market in August was in a stagnant condition until the sudden stealth release of @DigiDaigaku by @LimitBreak. These cuties are not just kawaii but also commercially strong in nature: they broke through 1ETH floor price in 3 days and heading towards 13ETH in a month.

The strong commander behind DigiDaigaku is no doubt the CEO @gabrielleydon, prev @MachineZone - a well-known Web2 game studio. He knows the drill when talking bout drawing people’s attention with Waifus if you can recall those “notorious” pop-ups in the Game of War & Mobile Strike era.

@hype_eth is the GOAT in Digidaigaku’s community for holding not only a large number of collections but also a profound balance: the estimated balance of Genesis in his hot wallet is 800+ ETH, and around 600+ ETH of DigiDaigaku Heroes. Talking about Waifu army👀👀

@izebel_eth hoards 100+ Digigaigakus in multi-wallets. He is no doubt a hardcore anime enthusiast judging from his previous Griffith (Berserk) avatar (btw those new episodes by Kouji SUCKS). And he's constantly showing support to indie artists such as @Hitoimim @HanbenP.

Check out izebel's Hunting Diary powered by @Purr_House. Dude already realized around 1k ETH profit from projects like @cryptoadzNFT in late 2021. He's able to stay chill and collect whatever he likes ever since then. He’s still diamond-handing THE WAIFUS.

The record-high sale in the history of DigiDaigaku happened on Aug 25th, when the one and only old-school manga Digi was sold from @kye_stuff_idk to an anon for 59 ETH. No wonder the buyer is an old-school anime maniac, and that’s how he tributes to the golden age of manga🧝‍♀️

@curvethots has great taste in Waifu Collection. Top 5 GENE_SIS @killergfnft @waifusion collector; KGF #2811 tributes to Sadako (bought for 54ETH!) ; General GENE_SIS w Odinson in hand… Weeboos must be jealous of you, Orochimaru sensei! (And she loves cats🐱)

Just like others mentioned in this thread, the strong foundation for @cantfakesigs to keep collecting is the fact that his a successful NFT degen. With 570+ ETH realized profit from WoW or BAYCs… A good balance between taking profits and hodling for love is valuable for us to learn from.

Another OG project name for NFT Waifu lovers must be Lives of Asuna by @zumidraws @hagglebub @itsoksami. The 1/1s, unlike other projects, are barely traded. They’re likely way too cute for the collectors @SpinDatPotato @Fuyu_eth @jamesmfkwon to sell them.

CryptoKitties is a popular blockchain game on Ethereum created by Dapper Labs that allows players to buy, collect, breed, and sell virtual cats represented as NFTs. It is a pioneering example of using blockchain technology for leisure and entertainment and was one of the first cat-themed NFT collections.

As there’re 2M+ Cryptokitties ever minted, top kitty owners are most likely to be the group of people who own the largest number of (virtual) cats in the world. Specifically, kittenmittens.eth, who owns around 209k Cryptokitties, might be the Cat Tycoon in numbers.

Like it or not, ENS has become the 2nd NFT collection by volume on Opensea. Who’s flexing and taking profits on this digital gold mine? In the very first episode of The Purr Tabloid, we select a few representative figures to find out the stories behind ENS holders:

Cybersquatting originated in the 1990s when early adopters of Web1 registered tons of domains with the intent of profiting from trademark owners. Big names such as Panasonic, Hertz, and even Scarlett Johansson were among the victims. The hunting instinct of domains has been passed down through the cybersquatters and is not yet to be forgotten.

The Prehistorical Era

On May 9th, 2017, the first ever ENS address, “rilxxlir.eth” was registered by @nicksdjohnson, the lead developer of ENS. As he said, the palindrome wordplay of the domain makes it more memorable. It was accidentally burnt later on because of a transfer bug @opensea in 2021. See the details at:

A few more interesting ENS addresses were squatted later that day: including home brand roselandfurniture.eth, Chinese online payment giant zhifubao.eth (Alipay), enormous undersea monster leviathan.eth, and the one and only Ethereum testicle.eth. It looks like the taste of the squatters is varied, huh?

At that time, only domains with 7+ characters were made available for registration in case of a system failure. But cybersquatters were still growing fast. Only a week later, the daily registration of the ENS domain had grown from 30 to around 1k. It even caught the attention of @VICE, a milestone when ENS went subcultural.

Let’s dive into the details of early adopters of ENS domains: The very first rangers were those who actively bid for unique domains such as exchange.eth (6660ETH), foundation.eth (300ETH), weather.eth (101ETH). They might not be taking profit for bidding on these domains at such high value, but they do deserve mention as bold degens.

An OG hoarder worthy of a mention is the anon topnames.eth: the owner of weather.eth in 2017, the proud owner of business.eth, people.eth, marketing.eth, etc. Though only 5ETH profit was realized, the dude’s still cool enough to renew & offer more domains actively.

However, someone in the 7plus-character era was taking a huge profit with paradigm.eth. Registered at 1ETH and sold at 420 ETH with a record high in ENS history. However, we can’t trace his identity since he gradually withdrew his profits through @TornadoCash afterward.

The new owner of paradigm.eth immediately meme’d bout Mcdonalds, Forbes, @a16z, and Andre Cronje on his record. This is a perfect example of exactly what you should do if you’ve just spent $1.5M on a fancy domain! Details at:

The “Small Digit War” Era

In Sep 2019, after upgrading to ERC721-compliant NFTs with a new register mechanism, ENS released 3~5 character domains for registration, which triggered a “small digit war.” We can easily spot a sharp increase in revenue from small digit addresses on the chart:

The second largest ENS deal in history was by 000.eth. The seller acquired it for 2.6ETH and was listing it for nearly a year until the 300ETH deal happened. The suspected buyer @000_eth on Twitter then claimed that she spent a lot just because she could. Her account was suspended later on though.

Well, according to the Hunting Diary generated by Purr. She didn’t start from scratch like most of the NFT degen does. Instead, she spent 500ETH on purchasing 000.eth, BAYC #3553, and a Fidenza took 31ETH profit from the last two. She’s still diamond handing 000.eth for some reason, though.

By far, 000.eth is still an Epic NFT Trader with 30ETH+ realized profit from NFT sales according to privacy-preserved identity badges from liable protocol @wiw_io. Connect to app.wiw.io and check what kind of NFT Trader you are!👀

Community Eco Derived from the ENS domains

The community had been gradually developing among the holders of 3~5 digit domains. Hence @10kClubOfficial and even more elite 999Club within were developed. And according to @ensvision, these two are still the most important groups of domains by volume:

Hoarders vs. Snipers on ENS

There’re two types of degen commonly seen flexing on ENS: Hoarders and Snipers. There are around 60 Hoarders who hold 1k+ domains in their vault. Most of them inherit habits from the squatter era to remain undoxxed. But socially active ones do exist, such as @iamabot6942069 @BlueOceanShark.

Other Hoarders who valued their privacy more had developed a convenient way to discuss with their possible domain clients, which is Blockscan Chat @etherscan. Here’s an example of how sux.eth actively redirects his potential customers to personal chat:

Not every ENS Hoarders are degen enough to take profit from other projects, but Purr located some by Hunting Diary. majoby.eth @tobydownton is not only a #18 ENS Hoarder with 1.8k domains, but also a PFP degen with 213ETH realized profit mostly from the Yugas’.

On the other hand, some snipers don’t have the patience to hoard thousands of domains for steady expected profit. They managed to earn big in a few shots. 678.eth is one of the best among them, with 130ETH+ profits in 4 shots (003, 006, 008, 5555.eth).

Emoji Domain Hype

Cybersquatting for emoji-based domains went viral later last year. That was the time when 🍉🍉🍉.eth @SpaceWigger registered this unique domain. He later on, became a pretty successful PFP flipper with 140ETH+ profits and thrilling up-and-downs.

Could you introduce yourself, Mr.DC?

🐈‍⬛: So yeah, Mr. Diamond Cruiser, let's talk more about yourself! You are the early explorer in Purr and the co-founder of the Diamond NFT Super community. I believe there are more stories to be told. Tell us something that we don't know, something a little bit more about yourself.

🚢: Yes, This is DC. I got into NFT at the beginning of 2021, and maybe out of the COVID boredom, I wanted to trade something new. That's when I get to know NFTs. Other than being the co-founder of the Diamond NFT Super community, I'm the CFO of an influencer management company.

My first adventure was into NBA Topshot because my friend was a content manager at TikTok, and I was into these new technologies. It's funny how I lost $4,000 initially, and with my last remaining $1000, I went to Opensea and bought some NFTs. I was lucky because my second NFT mint was a Bored ape, and I bought another one, and these decisions really bankrolled to what I am at right now.

How did you start your NFT journey, and when did you start building Diamond NFT?

🐈‍⬛: Wow, you did enter the NFT space out of interest!

🚢: Yeah, I just really wanted to dip my toes into it, but I got burned almost immediately, but I learned very good lessons from top shots, and that helped me navigate the NFT landscape better.

🐈‍⬛: Can't give all the credit to the bored apes. When I first got to know you, I noticed from your NFT Hunting Diary that you worked your way up through every day's grinding, not through some big hits only.

🚢: Yeah, I used to do an average of four trades a day back in 2021, there were like 20 projects every day, so there was always something to buy. Back in 2021 was really awesome, and everything was snowballing. Things are pretty different now compared to the old days.

🐈‍⬛: When did you then start your diamond NFT super community?

🚢: I started sometime around June 20th, 2021, but I think I activated it in July. I believe the doodles launched around July, which was the first NFT project to gather everyone together. So it's really the first big win for the community members. It's actually a call from our Canadian member HTdot. Because Burnt Toast is Canadian, HT knew the artist very well. Most of us didn't even know who Burnt Toast was. We believed in his sense of art and hopped on this bullet train of Doodles mint.

What do you think is the most valuable thing when building a community?

🐈‍⬛: That's some great sense of art and execution for the community members. What do you think is the most valuable thing out there in Diamond NFT Community?

🚢: The most valuable thing is seeing that many good people in Web3 want to earn ethically, through their sense, and through their recognition and understanding of Web3. One of the valuable things for us is that we are forming a community around specific demographics. So in my case, my community is primarily people in my country, and with surrounding southeast Asian countries, it is crucial to create this bonding. And this cultural value we created may shed light on the surrounding areas, extending from Malaysia to SEA.

Yeah, also, people in Southeast Asia have a different cultural vibe than those in the western hemisphere. You get what I mean since you've stayed in different countries for many years. In the East, there's less individualism compared to the western counterparts. If you spend most of your time in a western alpha group, you'll find that they usually brag about their wins but not their losses. They like to talk about individual performances. Very rarely did they talk about helping other people. Usually, if you're Asian yourself, you might get ignored in these Discord servers.

You can see in Diamond NFT Community we promote a dynamic and home-like atmosphere. In our server, it's not always about trading NFTs, and it's okay for us to talk about football or other things. It's more about the stickiness of the group and how we can achieve something together. I establish my own group where we can talk about our own things.

What do you think is the biggest obstacle when building a community?

🐈‍⬛: What is your biggest obstacle in building the community during this bear market?

🚢: It's probably just keeping people interested because you don't want to be involved with something associated with the loss. That's how I feel about NBA top shots. I've lost a lot of money there, so I don't want to return there again.

Giving new people their first win as much as possible is very important to me. Once you get that first win rolling, hopefully, you can get the second and third wins. But eventually, it helps people develop such habits and stay in the community and the ecosystem. That's why I have this impostor syndrome where I don't want the floor price of my NFTs to get over a certain price because you are pressured to provide value by then, right?

For example, if you had Underground Pass for 5 ETH, deep inside, you wish you could get the 5 ETH back from hitting alphas, so the community is now pressured to give you 5 ETH in return in a short time. That's not quite possible in the bear market, right? So if they can't meet their expectations, they're just gonna hate not only the community but the f ecosystem in general, the Crypto, or any other place in general.

It's worth double thinking when these alpha groups always hype their gains on Twitter, so they can get more members because newcomers are in this FOMO as if being in the alpha groups is riding on a forever profit machine. Still, it's tough to do what the elites do. Right?

🐈‍⬛: I actually have my own point of view for alpha groups. I think the most valuable thing is your time. You are staking your time in the community where you wish to generate the most emotional or monetary value. Because time is the only limited resource, one only has so much time in the day. It's impossible for someone to be distracted when hunting for value.

🚢: I agree. Sometimes you need to be on 24-7. When something is minting, you want to grab it immediately, which could take seconds. And if you're not there, you could miss it. People think that the games are from the cost. But you have to be there to respond to take advantage of those pumps, dumps, and calls. Plus, it's pretty challenging if you also have a day job.

If on social media, your community's marketing plan focuses on gains rather than not having friends, It's going to be painful building up that home-based vibe. I don't mind telling the people who run my marketing not to post gains or anything; make it seem like a happy engagement. Later. We could better anchor that content to our vibe. Otherwise, the believers who buy the pass, not finding any value, then sell the pass at a loss and get out.

How did you find Purr? Any suggestions for us

🐈‍⬛: At first, when trying to give Purr a good narrative, we found a quote from Mr. Ben Jammin. He mentioned Web3 is for people to do cool stuff, earn money, and have fun with friends. That seems like a good purpose for people to search for. How did you find us in the first place? How did you find PURR?

🚢: I think I followed Eslam and learned about it from him. His activities are on our smart money tracker tehe.....

🐈‍⬛: We aim to create a community built on top of identity. With identity, people can actually create their own reputation system. And I hope that this reputation system can be used across multiple projects and chains. Our experiments are built around such identity protocol and gamify the community to make Crypto a less boring place. We invited those with extensive on-chain behaviors and hoped we could bring value by giving them a more private profile and helping them build their own resume to prepare them for the next ball run. That's what we have in mind. Any suggestions for PURR ser?

🚢: Yeah. You'll have to choose whether you want Twitter or discord engagement because it's tough to boost both simultaneously. Retaining such activity is really not that much. There are private Twitter groups with all the things needed. You can make a group of up to 75 people there, and usually, those smaller groups get more engagement. It's tough for elites to chat in other Discords.

How do you balance Web3 and IRL?

🐈‍⬛: Thank you for the valuable suggestions. But sometimes, it's not about choosing the easier path but the hard one to grind. So what's been keeping you here in Wev3? Are you currently full-time Web3 running the community?

🚢: Even in the heydays, I didn't quit my job and always managed my own businesses like a law firm and everything. I never quit my job because I'm like the older person in Web3. I've gone through those major recessions, so I know nothing lasts forever. For me, this is just a profitable hobby.

🐈‍⬛: How do you balance this hobby in your life? You were not all in Crypto, but it's still kinda 24-7 like you said, right?

🚢: I'm a movie person, so I might do it while watching movies. Since I'm a business owner, not an employee, I have a lot of time on my hands. And since I don't play video games anymore, I have a shit load of time on my ass😂. I can devote 3 or 4 hours daily to my hobbies, right? During these hours, It's really about focusing on project scores. Looking at the charts going on Opensea and go for their tweets. So usually between 3 to 4 hours a day or maybe more if there's no basketball game to spend on Web3.

It's rare for people my age to have this much time in Web3. Yeah, usually, it's the younger GenZs. Like Vopa started 16, Eslam started 17. So can do this 24-7 and still be hyped every day. For me, I'm still having fun. Or maybe someday I won't be having fun, but the fun is still pretty good right now.

Any Market suggestions for the newcomers out there?

🐈‍⬛: What are your market observations? Any suggestions for the newcomers out there?

🚢: I think it's gonna be hard to persuade people to enter the end of the space right now due to the general macro environment. We probably need to send our expectations for the first quarter next year. Because I'm expecting a significant market downturn in the first quarter next year.

It's gonna affect a lot of projects, a lot of things. Unemployment is gonna rise, and when and even if unemployment increases, the price of goods will still be high. And that's what you don't want to happen. Right? There's low demand and yet high prices. So we call that stagflation or their slow demand for goods, but because the costs are so high, prices are still high. When that happens, it will take a while before the environment and the economy source out. It's the general economy where we keep on pumping money. It would be wrong if bags were just related to crypto entities.

If you look back, everything shot up in 2021. Stocks with all-time high properties, luxury goods like Rolex, and Cars. Everything went to its all-time high in 2021. That's something that people usually forget when they are bullish. In Crypto, we're still tied to the general market. Unless there's the coupling that happens where we go when the economy is done in crypto shoots up, then I might change my tune. I'm just treating this as just another luxury good. When the economy is good, people have more money to spend on NFTs. Like, how about you? Are you going to spend like, let's say, 10 ETH on Azukis?

🐈‍⬛: I got your point. If I had an extra 10 ETH, I would probably spend it on Trump Collectives Cards.

🚢: Pump and dump risk takers, okay😂. Now it's dumping, but it was very profitable.

Would you choose “Innovative ideas” over “backed by great funding”?

🐈‍⬛: Are you most likely to support innovative NFTs by indie devs with no background or ordinary PFPs with no utilities backed by sufficient funding?

🚢: I might go for the one with actual funding behind it because usually, my point of view is, It's always about, and I said it many times in the discord, what kind of person are you? If your pitch can attract an investor or VC to you, then it's not gonna be so bad when you go to people. If you can't get money from an investor, you might not get money from the public. At least with funding, It's going to last for a while.

🐈‍⬛: Are you still excited when you see innovative NFTs? Probably something that changes with time or with different buying-selling strategies. Like the long-forgotten project called office hour.

🚢: I guess it's just that people who buy any of these just got smarter over time. And they know it's an experiment, not an exact long-term plan behind it. It's just gonna buy to flip because they know it's an experiment. And after a while, you get tired of funding experiments, mhm. People want to go someplace or think there's more long-term value. After a while, people just got tired of it is because innovations usually what we call flesh in the pan. Right? You have one concept. Then that's it. Maybe, it will remain a concept for the entire year.

🗝: Thanks for having me!

🐈‍⬛: It's funny how we know each other. We met through Lil nouns in a random Wednesday meeting and started talking to each other. Since then, I have learned more about you and your project. I agree that devs should make more friends during the bear market🤣 We are doing The Purr Quibbler to provide valuable memories for the top degens and the great founders and builders in Web3.

🗝: Well, I'm not a top degen, but I can talk from a founder's perspective. We need to do this more often. Nouns, Lil Nouns, these communities are so cool, doing open forums, and you can start your conversations. Because of the treasury, it kinda orients you towards "Noun-ish "as the goal, and the conversation takes off from there. As a founder, I enjoy sitting down and having a little talk because, most days, there are meetings and conferences. Good ideas emerge when talking to people; if they are worth executing, talented people will put them into practice. A good relationship happens too.

Introduction: Founder's background

🐈‍⬛: This is Tuxedo. I'm the co-founder of Purr, an experimental social project exploring the boundaries of Curiosity and finding harmony in Discord. We realized that time is the most scarce resource, and most people would only stake their time on things that bring them the highest ROI or joy. We try to build this, combine these, and make it fun, profitable and feel like home. Andy, let's talk about Infinity Keys and yourself.

🗝: I'm Andy Boyan; I am pretty public. You can find me anywhere. I'm the co-founder of Infinity Keys, previously working for Chainlink Labs, wherein the content teams, I did writing and social media and podcasts with founders, biz dev, and Fintech. But all of this was in the past couple of years. Before that, I was a professor, researching gaming, game effects, and digital media in general. It was until my masters that I realized I could study video games and how people work, and later on, I worked with some professors I respect a lot to work towards my Ph.D. gradually.

🗝: I mainly have an academic background in social science. Most crypto people have computer science, math, or physics degrees. Social science seems to give me a different perspective on web3. I started exploring Bitcoin and Ethereum in 2017, and as the market movement happened, I began to get involved in this robust community of researchers, thinkers, enthusiasts, and builders.

🗝: I'm not a total degen🤣, I'm a family man, I get along with people, I'm passionate about how society adopts the new technology and how the technology reforms people's lives and love to think about cool stuff that you can build with them, creating new experiences. This passion has supported me, and now I am forming that into my mission to make this Infinity Keys project.

Question: How and when did Puzzles and Mysteries come into play in Web3?

🐈‍⬛: Before this interview, I was trying to beat the puzzles on infinitykeys.io, and the whole puzzle and how it came into play in the Web3 culture was fascinating. From my observation, the unknown, mysteries, deciphering codes, and stealth mint, all of these became so meta-ish for NFTs in the March of 2022. Back then, the dark-net stories caught people's attention. You started to think that every suspicious twitter retweet might link to some treasure hunt NFT Minting. That reminds me of the old Cicada 3301 mystery. Do you believe the Cicada 3301 is the seed that burgeoned into this treasure hunt scene?

🗝: I think it's not just Cicada or recent events. Treasure hunts excitingly capture your imagination. You see books like Ready Player One and Da Vinci Code. They are mysteries, and in constructed narratives, it's fun to go along with the story as if you are the character solving it. It is a rewarding experience and parallel interaction of watching the character develop into what you imagined. Those "Ah-ha" moments represent a powerful human emotion that drives engagement and enjoyment. Treasure hunts like this. They have this natural narrative and linear vibe. I wonder if that triggers some most profound human response.

Question: What is challenging in the puzzle design?

🐈‍⬛: In Purr's language, I would like to quote, Curiosity doesn't kill a cat. Because Curiosity is what pushes us forward to solving these mysteries, what do you think is challenging when it comes to puzzle design?

🗝: Yeah, it is a double edge sword there. We need to be cautious about game design and user experience. In puzzle design, there are tons of pitfalls as well. Take Cicada 3301, for example; many projects are forming puzzles like this. But the objective was to identify 1 or 2 total giga-brains. If you are using treasure hunting to connect with community people, by narrowing the number down to one, that is not a community. The designing of the puzzle is a challenge of balance. When we are watching the Ready player one movie, the whole storyline is pretty much the audience following the journey of one person, and that would not be an excellent example of community engagement. The designer has to know if he is designing for themselves as training for fun or if they are designing a puzzle for a large number of people so everyone can enjoy the process.

🐈‍⬛: The balance theory backfired when I was designing the first puzzle entry of Purr when I somehow made it too hard to solve. People join because of Curiosity, but rage quit because they couldn't get it after trying multiple times.

🗝: Another Great example would be Meebits NFT. Remember they put out a challenging puzzle with weird clues? It took the people months to find and another month to solve it. When the answer was finally revealed to Web3 by that one person who solved it, Meebits got great press exposure. Because they are a community with millions of funding and high popularity, there will be journalists who write about it or want to write about it. This type of success does not equate to other projects. Different projects have different market strategies, and you can't just make up your marketing strat like, "Oh, I want to make a viral video." Everybody wants to make a viral video, but there are algorithms you need to break, and one cannot guarantee success without that one person to unlock every mystery.

🐈‍⬛: Have you noticed the use of puzzles in social media campaigns and boost the start of a Web3 Project? Pandora's box delivers tool kits to project owners to increase social media exposure using puzzles and cipher campaigns. What do you think is the difference between this and Infinity Keys?

🗝: There are many tools in the market nowadays to encourage people to do stuff. For example, in Project Galaxy, There might be a quest leading to some actions of retweets and social interactions. I think it's ok; the tools are handy for increasing followers. The difference between Infinity Keys and these types of tools is that we take different approaches. There are different levels of what you are asking people to do.

For Pandora's Box and Project Galaxy, you see most of the things are retweets tasks. It would be a whole different type of engagement in treasure hunting. We might ask people to go into three different metaverses to finish achievements. That experience is irreplaceable. Pandora's box is excellent, and Infinity Keys is more about games. I believe that composability is the killer feature of Web3. You mentioned the Spells* NFT last time and how they interact with other NFTs using ERC5050, and that inspired me. If we are all connected, the reward can be the completion of experiences. The more things you have to do, the more the virtual experience feels real. Like the World of Warcraft, when you have too many things to do, you won't get bored and will have this merging experience. It takes layers and the efforts of multiple communities to work together to make it feel connected.

🐈‍⬛: You called it a Hyper-Layer in your previous interviews. Interactions and shared experience pulls people together

🗝: I used to call it Metagame as well. To me, particular achievements create the depth of the world, and that's why it is fascinating.

Question: What about aggregating off-chain and on-chain achievements into Decentralized Identity?

🐈‍⬛: Have you thought about moving real-life achievements into your decentralized identities? I think DID is the Infinity Key of Web3 that unlocks utilities, records reputations, and forms user abstractions.

🗝: We are talking about having an oracle pull some actual IRL data on-chain. If that's the case, I would love to do a natural disaster achievement🤣. I've lived through a tornado, flooding, volcano, earthquake wildfire. Well, technically, I was there. If I have my Weather condition + geo location + current block height, I can prove that I have experienced such a natural disaster, and it is incredible to put them in records. Other exciting things you can do with it include attending a sports game. I do have a question for you. What do you think is a good way for DID to record such activities on-chain without creating clogs on every chain?

🐈‍⬛: I'm thinking of creating this SBT that changes with time. And people may take snapshots of their current SBTs as their Tags to curate their current status. So there won't be a whole bunch of NFT garbage out there taking the storage. You have oracles to pull data from off-chain to on-chain; all you need to do is change the metadata. Long term goal would be to have a DID protocol that provides permissionless rules for SBTs that describe different dimensions(e.g., Natural disasters, event attendance). And if we consider the composability of POAP, that could be much more.

🗝: Well yeah, fundamentally, you are going to mint an NFT to represent some experience, using some off-chain data to verify. But when I think of dynamic NFT, If I update whenever some subtle things happen, that could also take lots of computing power. It doesn't seem that efficient. Some other methods, I don't know if you have heard about Charged Particles. It's pretty much Russian dolls for NFTs. It's an NFT made of other assets or even other NFTs, wonder if there is some way for data storage. One person's data might be easy to handle, but if we come to the scale of the world might be a lot.

🐈‍⬛: I think SBTs that records experience can help people find their echoes. Our relationships mainly consist of shared experiences. For Infinity keys, for example. Suppose I can set rules & roles for people to collect the NFTs after solving them and group them based on how many NFTs they hold, I can sort out the avid puzzle breakers in the space, and they might be the best brain power it can have in the space of web3, backed by verified experience.

Question: Any problems with SBTs, and how can we treat them?

🗝: I've been thinking about SBTs, but I'm not totally convinced about SBTs, although Vitalik was talking about it a month ago in the paper Soul of Web3. You want to know it's me who did the things that I did in the past, but there are things that, after 10-15 years, have the rights to be forgotten. I may make public mistakes 20 years ago as a foolish college kid, but it's been 20 years, and I feel I've redeemed myself. You can't gloss over things since they are all on-chain. It is so immutable it kind of freaks me out. Suppose I am in a shitty project with all pumps and dumps, and rug-pulls. Switching to a new wallet might sometimes feel like pressing the restart button. And sometimes people don't want to be attached to everything.

🐈‍⬛: To put this another way, your need in the statement is to control your data altogether. Probably a privacy level would work. Here is a story from the past, but maybe we can think of it from a modern perspective. Sir Nicholas saved 669 Jewish Children during WWII, risking his life back then. To him, it was something that could not be disclosed during wartime. If this heroic act is treated as an SBT and recorded on-chain, he must have the right to choose to keep it unrevealed. Only when time is mature, war is over, and Nazis become unacceptable for the concept of universal value can Sir Nicholas choose to curate his kudos, telling the world that he did what it needed.

🗝: So reveal schemes, just like I'm buying a drink, and I only need to tell people I'm old enough to buy a drink without giving away my home address, date of birth, etc.

🐈‍⬛: This also prevents people from social-engineered attacks since they are not revealing their address during social activities while still being able to show their validations.

🗝: ZK schemes seem better if we combine this with SBTs.

Question: Any use cases for Infinity Keys on your mind?

🐈‍⬛: Let's go back to the Infinity Keys. Nowadays, we already have people trading WL spots for money. If the puzzle for WLs becomes meta in the future, I can see Infinity Keys NFTs becoming the Exchangeable WLs. For people to WL mint, they must hold at the Infinity Keys NFT to prove that they have solved the puzzle. To prevent Sybil attacks, that would probably require 1 to 1 reflection of WL spots to a special NFT. If those "Proof of solving" can be traded in the secondary market, people can make money by solving the puzzle, if they are just here for the puzzle or if they couldn't afford the mint price. One great example is the Solve to Mint - Alpha test qualification from Issac, the Topology's on-chain game. There are 50 puzzles out there, and whoever solves one of the puzzles would get the alpha-test role.

🗝: That's interesting. If I have the NFT that gives me a WL spot, I don't want it just dropped into my wallet. I want to control it so I can choose to opt-in. For people who aren't doing mints, that is actually valuable. The idea for me is that we can have people more engaged with the projects, building quests that required people to engage with the community or read through the white paper and understand it. There might be fewer flippers who are just here for the profit. Your storytelling and roadmap might hook some people.

🐈‍⬛: You actually have me read through the Infinity Keys white paper to solve puzzle NO.2. The primary use case of Zero-knowledge proof is giving out tests to see if people acquired some knowledge.

🗝: It's still not that fun. Tests are not fun. On Project Galaxy, there are multiple-choice questions you can try how many times you want. They call it a quest, but more like a test! Most people enjoy games, and games have different feedbacks. For us, the hard part is that it has to be a game. It has to have that kind of engagement that refreshes people.

🗝: Some Game projects released NFTs and now have a great treasury and a huge player base, and they start giving out staking rewards. But it might take a year for them to finish a game. That's a significant problem. What do players do during this wait? How can we make something that keeps people involved? That's challenging, man. That's what we are building.

Question: More puzzle types?

🐈‍⬛: Will there be more puzzle types?

🗝: Enter the passcode type or embed HTML games. We are now working on the NFT Check, which requires you to dive into other projects, play a game, and win the NFT. Then, you may come back and solve the puzzle.

Ideas in PURR

🐈‍⬛: In PURR, we are pretty active in building experimental tools, and we would like to bury it somewhere deep in the server for the great minds to find out. Also, if we can tinker with some governance right inside a gamified puzzle, that would be great. So that people would share their stories and clues. Even the latecomers would have the same experience and try their best to get more governance right by interacting more with the community.

🗝: Governance/Tools. Huh, that brings us back to the balancing problem. Yes, you want that difficulty, but you must also think about the engagement. Make it with different levels. You also have to consider the language barriers as well. You can't just design something that only English-speaking people would understand. What if you are facing an Asian community? People don't like solving puzzles. Some people want to feel good. I know you are probably like the hardcore Dark Soul player who enjoys suffering. I love Mario Cart and Wordle, and Sudoku. These games already make me feel good.

Question: What's your wordle starter?

🐈‍⬛: What are your tricks for Wordle? Mine is unity and arose. I use these two as my starter.

🗝: My starter is alone, and sometimes I use the word chair as my starter. Chair is a great friend of mine, and we are working on the same project.

在本期的Purr唱唱反调，猫猫们一路向东，来探寻镭射猫的神秘力量。@BitCloutCat, 又名 LaserCat，镭射猫，猫哥，他是东方NFT图圈里非常有影响力的中坚力量。据说几乎没有什么Alpha项目会逃过他的镭射眼……

Web3之前

进入Web3之前，镭射猫曾创立过一家香薰品牌，担任创始人和艺术总监。而他对于艺术类的感知和审美，很自然的为他之后蒸蒸日上的NFT生涯奠基。虽然我们看到他现在的成功，而他的Web3之路，却不是那么一帆风顺。

在2021年三月，他带着满腔热情和1000人民币的存款，迈进了加密货币的大门。随着他对加密货币的好奇逐渐变强，他投资了$DOGE和$DESO. 两个月之内，他完成了自己的第一次资本积累，从100U将自己的本金做到了15万U（天赋异禀）。他现在的1/1的PFP镭射猫头像， 也是当时玩$DESO请艺术家@Misha_Ghannam画的，来自于@Unicat_NFT系列。

不幸的是，这两个月的资本积累却因为他误入了合约市场越陷越深而最终化为乌有。“有时候你交易上头了就开始飘了，开始不按照自己规定的策略进行交易，最终就犯了错误爆仓了。我愿意在这里分享这些过来人的经验给你们，是觉得我作为一个前辈确实有义务告诉新手们一些事情，在这种市场里，你只要有赌性就一定会输。”

猫哥带我们走进了他的镭射猫doji，接受了我们的采访。在这里他给我们展示了他的NFT狩猎日志。从最开始的0.31ETH，他不断的训练自己成为一个遵守交易策略的trader。我们在这里出于隐私保护的目的，也不会太过于详细的挖掘他冷钱包，小金库和其他钱包的秘密。

Purr实习生: 猫哥你会给刚进圈想买NFT的新人，买属于自己的第一份NFT的时候一些什么建议？

LaserCat：我觉得还是看每个人自己有多少的预算吧。我会跟他们说，选一个自己价格能够承受的区间之内的，但是因为是第一NFT，所以大胆选，根据自己的美学来选自己最欣赏的。先不用考虑第一笔NFT投资就要赚钱的事情，总而言之就是选一个自己喜欢的，大胆点。

当然，你还是要买你觉得会升值的东西，毕竟大家这么多人来币圈，大部分的想法肯定是想搞钱的。这个搞钱的路径和学习曲线可能比较曲折，但是早失败其实是对新人积累经验非常好的一件事情，现在失败没得什么亏的，赚钱了以后再吃亏就划不来了。

Purr实习生：猫哥你定义你自己是个flipper还是个钻石手/收藏家？

LaserCat: 我还是清楚我是作为一个flipper在玩这些东西，我在早期的时候还是很严格遵守自己的交易策略的。当时来看，一口气多买几个，再翻倍出本的策略真的都执行得很好，简单实用。但是有时候当你名气大起来以后，事情就开始变得不一样了。我自己个人，我说冲什么项目从来没有躲躲藏藏，都非常透明的告诉大家我要买什么项目，推特上很多人也会跟着我一起冲图狗。但是也有人说会FUD说镭射猫在这里噶韭菜，自己在拉盘以后砸盘出货。

我从来没有这么做过。实际上一些免费mint的项目，我打几十个，一不小心就变成top holder了。这个时候这个项目就变成了在我手里的薛定谔的猫了。我要是砸盘我当然可以走，但是可能我砸穿了地板这个项目就搞不下去了。我大部分情况就懒得卖了，我也想好的项目能够活下去，所以要亏就无非亏点free mint的GAS，也没关系。

Purr实习生：猫哥你怎么和非中文区的人交朋友的？

LaserCat: 就拿@pranksy来说事吧， 他是很早的NFT布道者，也是女性NFT项目的很大的支持者。大家亲切的称呼他为P姐嘛。其实我一开始过去和她交流也非常的自然，我就说“我是镭射猫，我很喜欢你，然后我最近准备发这个LaserCat的社区Pass，你要不要来mint一些”

就是一些很日常的沟通。一般来说，那些把私信开开了的KOL都还是会看自己的收件的。如果他们不回你，那你应该改改你说话的方式，因为他们可能觉得你说的话对于他们来说没有回复的价值。从宏观来看西方确实相对于东方来说式有一些天然的优势，因为他们的信息源是最新的，社会对于加密货币整体的监管也会稍微松一点。

Purr实习生：猫哥你进入Web3以后发生了什么样的变化？

LaserCat: 有句话是这么说的嘛，能力越大责任越大。一开始我可能就自己玩NFT，炒炒币，打打图狗，但是现在我有了猫群了，我作为创始人我肯定还是要对我们猫卡的地板价负责。这有了责任压力自然就来了，有些时候我因为一段时间没给猫群的朋友们找到好项目可能也会压力大起来。

Purr实习生: 所以你讲过一个人的社区走不远，一群人的社区才是社区。

LaserCat: 虽然我作为这个社区的degen代表在这里冲，我的精力毕竟也是有限的，我会告诉我们社区的其他小伙伴，有什么信息就在群里说，即使我看不到，其他那些眼光比较好的，看项目准的人也能帮到你。要让这个社区互帮互助，这样我觉得是最有效率的。

Purr实习生: 你觉得现在市场如何？牛市/熊市，还是说从来就只有适应者的市场？

LaserCat: 我觉得还是相对有这个熊市一说的，你看回想到当初的小图片之夏，那时候白单赚钱多简单对吧，基本上只要你肝白了，拿到就是赚。现在白名单很多人拿到都不去mint了，而且本来金狗也少，冲到哥布林这种项目的几率都是千分之一。其他时候如果你自己NFT交易不上量，也很难冲到很多利润，都在这里最后挤一点牙膏一样的利润。如果你是个普通用户，刘东西不够，每次冲图狗的利润其实也非常有有限，你还有Gas要去cover，确实有点熊，你看大蓝筹每天的交易量其实也上不去。

Purr实习生: 我们来聊聊猴地吧！

LaserCat: 我都不觉得猴地是我的高光时刻啊哈哈哈，那个时候我正好在外面玩，很多东西最后都砸手里了。我还有四个Kodas被偷家了，感觉还是有点亏的，从最大回撤上来看有点惨的吧应该。

Purr实习生: 你怎么看待社区里的flippers？

LaserCat: 我认为flippers在社区里是一件非常自然的事情，我也觉得他们是在这个循环里非常重要的一个环节。他们的行为不仅给项目通过版税的方式在这里输血，而且他们还通过自己的flip行为养活了 @opensea 和其他交易平台。这些动态的地板价格也从一定程度上反应了市场的行为。交易本来就是应该作为自由市场的行为区做，给这种自由市场设置一些限制，不让人买卖，那只能说明项目方自己对于这个社区文化建设没有太多信心。

Purr实习生: 猫哥有任何人生建议嘛？

LaserCat: 炒币打图狗肯定不是生活的全部。平时出去看看艺术展，听听音乐会，那些你尝试区拓展舒适圈去破冰的经验，其实这些看起来放松的经验会在未来用非常意外的方式来反馈你。至少对我来说是这样的。

LaserCat: 我原来养过一直俄罗斯蓝猫，这就是为什么我Opensea的头像之前就是一只俄罗斯蓝猫的原因。

In this episode of The Purr Quibbler. We traveled east to uncover the mysterious dojo of LaserCat. @BitCloutCat, aka LaserCat, is one of the most influential NFT figures in the eastern Web3 degen culture. It is said that no alpha projects can escape from his laser eyes...

Before Web3

Before Web3, LaserCat was the founder and creative director of a scented candle brand. His sense of art naturally boosted his NFT career, but his entry to Web3 wasn’t a smooth ride.

He aped into Crypto back in March 2021 with his 1K investment into $DOGE and $DESO out of curiosity. Within 2 months, LaserCat finished his first capital accumulation from $100 to $150K (talents!) He got his 1/1 PFP of LaserCat from @Misha_Ghannam and @Unicat_NFT

Unfortunately, he lost almost everything stepping into the mire of PERP futures. "You get overconfident and stopped following your trading strategies. I'm willing to share it because I feel obliged to give all the fresh crypto incomers some insights. you gamble you lose."

Purr Intern: What would you recommend people to do when choosing their first NFT?

LaserCat: It depends on your budget to be honest. I would say pick one within your affordable price range, but be bold, be aesthetically driven, and don't think about getting bags of return at your first shot, but be bold, be aesthetically driven, and don't think about getting bags of return at your first shot.

Of course, you invest in the profitable ones you believe, I mean we are all here to make some bills. Learning could be painful but it's better to fail now than later.

Purr Intern: Are you a flipper or a holder?

LaserCat: I see myself as a flipper, and I was strictly performing my strategy in the early days. "Buy 2 and sell 1 when floor price doubles" seems to be working perfectly back then...

Things get a little bit different when you build up your prestige. I'm usually pretty transparent on what project I am apeing, and people on Twitter would follow my shillings. But they would also FUD that LaserCat might be a grifter and just P&D to make some profit.

I’m not. In fact for some free mint projects, I’m a top holder but didn’t even sell any. I feel like the project is a Schrodinger's cat in my hand, and I am to decide whether to let it live by holding it or let it die by crushing the floor price and dumping everything.

Purr Intern: How do you make friends with influencers who don’t speak your language?

LaserCat: Let's talk about @pranksy, he is a preacher for NFTs, and is also a huge supporter of women NFTs. It started with me saying, “Hey I like you a lot, and I have this LaserCat Pass for my community”.

Pretty casual communication. And usually, those people with their message open read their inbox. If they didn’t reply, you might wanna rephrase your statement because they see no value in responding to your message. It’s true that westerners are naturally advantageous because they get the latest information and have fewer regulations on Crypto in general.

Purr Intern: What has changed since you decide to go all-in Web3?

LaserCat: As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility. Previously I’m just doing my part in NFT trading, but now I have to be responsible for the floor price of my LaserCat Community Pass. I do get a lotta pressure from not giving profitable picks to my community.

LaserCat: Although being the degen icon of the community, my energy and time is still limited. I tell my community members to always speak up, because working as a whole is way more efficient, and even when I’m occupied, there are still people with great senses that can help out.

Purr Intern: How would you describe the crypto market now?

LaserCat: I think there is still a so-called bear market. Back in the JPEG Summer, you almost always profit from WL spots right? Now for free mints and WLs, you can barely squeeze the value out of it. The probability of apeing into a Goblin-ish project is like 1 in 1000.

If you are just a normal NFT player and don’t have much liquidity, the profit each time you mint and flip is very limited considering the gas consumption, and even the bluechips are staggering in volumes.

Purr Intern: Let's talk about your biggest hunt for the @OthersideMeta 👀

LaserCat: I wouldn't say that's my highlight moment, since I was traveling and didn't manage to flip everything at the top. I actually paper-handed 4 Kodas. The retracement was looking pretty bad 😂😂😂

Purr Intern: Any comments on the flippers in the NFT communities?

LaserCat: It’s natural to have flippers in your community and I do think it is a necessary cycle in the ecosystem. Their activities not only fueled the project through loyalty fees %, but they also fueled @opensea and the dynamic of floor price changes. Trading should be a choice of the free market, and setting limitations only resembles the incompetence of its developer’s community building.

Of course, This was before the Koda ignited the whole Yuga lab community. We don't know how many of those ape-lands that Vopa flipped have Koda or rare resources. Profit is not real profit without taking profit amiright?

A coworker just walked by the editor room of the Purr Quibbler and said "I'll buy the NFT if Vopa apes it." This could be a good strategy, but for you readers out there, make sure you know your risk preference.

Aelїn was the first magic word from Hypervisor (@0xalxi) when I joined the cult war of Spells*. This two-syllable word brings me into the world of dungeons and sorcerers.

Strangely enough, during the bear market when most of the NFT communities are not as vibrant as they used to be, the Spells* server was exceptionally active, almost giving us a glimpse into the once-prosperous NFT summer WL war.

Cat: Haven’t seen such an interesting project like this for a while. After that PFP NFT summer, everyone seems to be talking about NFT utilities, yet no one actually jumped out of the box to figure out how new innovations can become new applications for NFTs.

It is said that the Spells* NFTs are designed to provide NFTs with metamorphous power. With great curiosity, Cat is diving deep into this experimental and avant-garde project and trying to find the magical purr behind it.

Cult Game

The great magister Hypervisor (@0xalxi) created the Spells* Cult Game as an experiment toward the gamified Discord community building. Based on the simple structure of the old text game, Hypervisor (@0xalxi) created the magic world running fully automated in his Discord server. Crafting such a dedicated and interactive social game within a Discord Server is something that we’ve never seen before.

Users gather *Magic by

1. Inviting new people into their cult

2. Typing the magic word of each cult within a fixed period of time.

Without changing the underlying concept of a Web2 login reward and user acquisition by invitation, the magic-gathering storytelling fits the vibe perfectly well. Not only does it give the tech-driven crypto culture a hue of mystery, but it also builds up people’s consensus through a shared secret word.

*Magics are then conjured into Spells with different costs, and each cult member should choose the magic to create the greatest value for their cult as a whole. Buffs and Debuffs, summoning monsters, blessing auras, damaging lightning bolts, and poison attacks; these are the buzzwords that a true dungeon game player or RPG player would be very familiar with.

With multiple cults struggling to become the top group, the Discord server became the battlefield of magic casting. The game theory of the cult war GVG was so fun that almost every degen was completely indulging in the vibe of the game, forgetting about their monetization purposes. And all these Discord build up us just preparing us for the grand opening of the Spells* era……

NFTs with On-chain Magic🧙🏻‍♂️ | ERC-5050

So what’s so special about Spells* NFT? 🧙🏻‍♂️

It is the first project to adopt the new ERC-5050 protocol, a protocol that puts NFT interactions on chain, allowing the change of NFT’s utilities after being Cast() upon by another NFT.

As the main author of ERC-5050, Hypervisor (@0xalxi) tried his best to create a world where NFTs are hyper-related to each other.

In his philosophy, he thinks of NFT items, such as LootProject, as the composable Nouns of the Web3 dictionary. To make the Nouns meaningful and to create a tale of an exciting adventure, one must have Verbs to interact with the Nouns.

To give you an example, if this #1 mLoot is the NFT that supports ERC-5050 integration (they are ready for metadata update when the spells are cast upon). One can cast the Spells* upon the mLoot and morph the item descriptions into a lively adventurer (Ideas from https://www.lootcharacter.com/). I mean It’s Loot(For Adventure) after all right?

This is not Hypervisor (@0xalxi)’s first tryout in interchanging NFTs. Entropes (https://www.entropes.xyz/) was his first art NFT project, a multiplayer token that interchanges while being transferred or traded. Every owner in the chain is responsible for the creation of the art, and there is a constant incentive to transact.

A new circle is generated on each transaction based on the chain of owners up to that point (i.e. the same user buying the same piece again will not produce the same circle). When shapes overlap, they "breed" and form new polygons with their own genomes. This means that each change can radically alter the look of the piece as it may intersect many underlying shapes.

And now, Entropes is going to support ERC-5050 integration as well.

In fact, we see similar metadata changes, such as the degods to deadgods change on Solana through the burn of $DUST. Picture changes while the traits are altered and deadgods are given higher $DUST emissions. This however does not involve the interactions between NFTs. It’s just degods NFT’s inner cycle, burning $DUST tokens for more $DUST emissions.

NFT collections are islands, and people only call it continent when an island meets an island. Magic is most powerful when it is created together.

The Future of Spells* DAO | Hexadethicult

Spells* learn from the composability of @lootproject and the DAO governance framework of @NounsDAO. The DAO framework of Spells*, Hexadethicult, is forked from the Nouns DAO (Following Compound Governance model). Through the Eternal mint of VRGDA, Spells* is able to provide the DAO with continuous funding into a holders-controlled DAO Vault, which eventually will be used to promote the development of Spells* mass adoption, and cross-project collaborations.
