You might be wondering where The Tulua Project intends to head in the long term. The Tulua Shell (our trademark PFP) is our current initiative right now to give our current supporters individual franchise personas and access to our entire Tulua ecosystem. Our main mission at The Tulua Project is to explore the manifestations of sound in all its expressions. We hope to do that by building an ecosystem that consists of a creative franchise of multimedia experiences, a strong tight-knit community, and educational resources.

The Foundation:

To kick this off we are releasing a weekly series of songs (as NFTs, free downloads, and available to stream on streaming platforms), a music producer and composer community, and various multimedia NFT collections that will be dedicated to building the fantasy world of The Tulua Project. People who collect the Dancers or earn enough $TULUA tokens through the SymphonyDAO program will receive a Tulua Shell, which will be the access token to our creative and artist-driven ecosystem. Right now that ecosystem grants access to our weekly curation of music radio mixes, genre curations, and private servers to connect with other holders. We are slowly expanding this to an entire ecosystem that will include short film animations, educational panels about global art and culture, creative software, and more.

The Tulua Shell will be uniquely designed and developed so that no one holds a similar one. For people who collect Dancers, the color pigments of their dancers will be the deciding palette for the respective Tulua Shell’s color. For music creators that earned enough tokens from the SymphonyDAO program, we will discuss 1-on-1 to decide what colors they would like to have on their shells.

Shells with a black background indicate the first 10 supporters of The Tulua Project. These are very special, and we will provide some more exclusive benefits to holders of these PFPs. Thank you so much to these collectors, it really helped us kickstart this entire journey.

These Tulua Shells will eventually change and lead to the evolution of our Creatures of Sound which will be a pinnacle stage for The Tulua Project when we get there. Essentially the official global launch of our franchise and world of like-minded sound lovers and creators. Right now we are currently in the beginning stages of The Tulua Project, in a soft-opening sense of our platform.

The Story:

The Creatures of Sound on Tulua Island are the descendants of beings that carry the same symbolic features of the turtle species. A culture of being hard on the outside and soft on the inside. A community that converses through the sonic vibrations of harmony and frequency. Before a Creature of Sound is fully born into this world, they lay dormant inside these Tulua Shells that act as the birth eggs of this species.

Once they hatch and immerse themselves in this world, their Tulua Shell evolves from what was once their protective embryotic shells to the heart center of their biological being. The color pigments and hyper-sensitive features of each individual are predetermined from the attributes of their respective Tulua Shell.

The full radio episodes tend to range from 45 minutes to an hour-long, which is only accessible to Tulua NFT Holders (Either from our Dancer collection or any of our Music Catalog).

We really appreciate everyone that has supported us to this point, we could not have done it without you. We are now entering a new era of The Tulua Project, which will be further explained in this article. To clarify, we are a creative blockchain company that strives to create a platform and franchise that revolves around exploring sound in all its expressions. In order to do this, we have been slowly creating a world where Creatures of Sound can live in harmony with one another and communicate solely through vibrations and frequencies on their home, Tulua Island. The heart, represented by the Tulua Shell, will be the only way Creatures of Sound can be born and enter Tulua Island. Each creature will have a unique shell for its avatar, which will represent how fragile and soft they are on the inside, yet hard and bold on the outside.

In order to kick this project off, we will be creating different NFT Collections and short animated films to represent different elements of the world. The NFT collections will represent different aspects of the world while the short films will allow us to tell stories and create narratives about the world. Pangea will be the first project we take on, which will explain the origin story of Tulua Island through the use of microscopic worlds and music. We eventually intend for this project to become a virtual world, however, our main goal now is to focus on building the franchise and telling the story we have in mind. The end goal is to build a place where sound can be both explored and created with like-minded individuals.

What We Have Done So Far:

The Dancers & Cymatics - 

Our introduction into the Web3 space was The Dancers, our first NFT collection. The Dancers are an integration of infrared hardware, choreography, unique visual software, and our own music compositions. We combined these mediums into one video format that we released different versions of on OpenSea. The Dancers have been released so far in two drops of 10 Dancers (a total of 20 Dancers public) in order to make sure that we grow the most organic and intimate community of supporters. On top of that, we wanted to ensure that we took care of our supporters to the best of our ability guaranteeing them the best quality of creative work that we can provide.

We provide Dancer Holders an exclusive weekly curation of a recorded radio mix, 5 song recommendations across 5 genres (Electronic, Neo-Classical, Jazz, World, and a weekly pick), a book specially picked and sent to the collector, wellness items (massage ball, incense, etc.), and a Tulua Shell airdropped to them. This is all featured in our weekly Cymatics series, which can be found in our Discord and the public portion of the curation on Soundcloud and Mirror.xyz. So far 18 out of the 20 Dancers have been collected, once these last 2 are acquired we will hold on releasing more dancers for the foreseeable future.

The Tulua Project Music Catalog & Audiovisualizers - 

We have slowly migrated from Web2 distributions to new Web3 methods by incorporating our own collection to release our latest music singles. We distribute it on Bandcamp for free download and include 5 Collector Editions on OpenSea to mint at a price of 0.025ETH each. Our schedule now is releasing a single (with Collector Editions) every week, so far we have released 2 on OpenSea, Bottleneck Effect which sold out, and Whale Song which has 3 editions left.

Each collector’s edition of a single receives an airdrop to their wallet of a unique audio visualizer we create of the respective song. The reason we don’t make the audio visualizer as the immediate minting item of the Collector Edition is so that we can guarantee a release of a song every week. The audio visualizers take more time to create, and since we are only a very small team, we want to make sure that we can stay consistent in both our release schedule as well as the quality of the visualizer we create for collectors.

Live Events & Publication - 

The Tulua Project started as the combined efforts of two music producers/performing artists. Carina Nour and Gibs came from Lebanon and Indonesia respectively and are now based in Los Angeles. They have been making effort to make a mark in the music scene across the U.S.A from Chicago, to New York, and now LA. This year so far they have been playing in events around Downtown Los Angeles, Downtown Santa Monica, Joshua Tree, Downtown Santa Barbara, and more. Their performances range from a DJ Set to a whole immersive live electronic performance with various musical instruments.

How to Become a Creature of Sound:

There are three ways to gain access to this world and claim your own Creature of Sound:

1 - Symphony DAO

We understand that not everyone is financially able to mint an NFT, so we wanted to create a way through which someone can earn a shell, hence becoming a Creature of Sound in our world. Symphony DAO is The Tulua Projects’ mission to create a community of music producers and composers, where completing full compositions should be rewarded.

Earn $TULUA as a Music Composer and Producer

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Every week we post 2 prompts for music composers and producers to have as the framework for their compositions.

2. The deadline for submissions is by 9 PM PST on the respective Sunday that week

3. The following week $TULUA tokens will be granted to those that have submitted their songs. 1 Prompted Composition Submission = 1 $TULUA Token (Max $TULUA tokens one can receive per week are 2).

4. $TULUA Token earners will then receive rewards and credentials within The Tulua Project

5. The first season of $TULUA Tokens will run for a schedule of 8 weeks (May 30 - July 31) which means the maximum amount of $TULUA tokens you can earn in this first season is 16

2 - Owning a Dancer

The Dancer collection was The Tulua Project’s first step into the web3 space. In the world we are creating, The Dancers will serve as a process from the Sonic Angels through which a Tulua Shell heart is born. The Dancers will not actually exist in the world, but as soon as a Dancer is minted, the color pigments will be extracted from it by the Sonic Angels in order to create a shell for the holders’ avatar. Thus birthing them as a Creature of Sound which will grant the holder access to Tulua Island.

3 - Attending Events

By attending Tulua events, one is able to work their way to earning a Creature of Sound. One is able to earn two tokens just by attending one event and needs a total of 6 tokens in order to qualify for a creature of sound.

The two are multi-genre producers and composers, having works ranging from Melodic Techno, House, Jazz, Classical, and more. The Harmonic Constitution

In order to prevent potential future abuse of the $TULUA reward system, we will be launching simultaneously the Harmonic Constitution which will dictate a few rules of what constitutes as a composition valid for submission. While we hate to create limitations on creativity, we will do our best to keep this as flexible and open-minded as possible as we want everyone to be able to experiment with their craft and sound. The Harmonic Constitution will be revealed once the first prompt is released on May 30, 2022.
