“Therefore the sage puts himself in the background but is always to the fore. Remains outside but is always there. Is it not just because he does not strive for any personal end that all his personal ends are fulfilled？” ——Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

Introduction

The development of civilization, while bringing great gains and achievements, was a step backward for human equality.

In terms of economic and social relations, the tribal peoples before the advent of civilization enjoyed free and equal access to the natural resources necessary for life. Economic equality and social equality were the characteristics of Neolithic village communities. But when tribal peoples became farmers, they no longer enjoyed free access to land or the full fruits of their labor.

The anthropologist Ashley Montagu has concluded about human nature: "There is no doubt that we are born with genetically endowed potentials for a variety of behaviors, but the way in which these potentials become actual abilities depends on the training we receive, and depends on learning... What we really inherit is the ability to shape and refine ourselves so that we do not become slaves, but masters of our destiny."

However, human beings are too small, and the information and technology available to individuals are limited. In order to break through this limitation and realize the individual value of human beings freely and equally, we need efficient, fair, and transparent network collaboration, while enjoying the fruits of our labor as we did before civilization.

For this purpose, we gather here to draw up the following manifesto, which is published in the world, announcing the birth of "TheBards DAO", a networked collaborative life form with the mission of "discovering the value of everyone".

The Age of Altruism

If the core value of web3 is "more freedom and lower cost of trust", then altruism will be the theme of the era of web3.

Those who love to go out love to return and those who love to give are bound to get more in return. Each individual's valuable contribution to the collaborative network (POW, proof of workload) will be effectively recorded and fairly rewarded. Cheap trust reduces the cost of transactions and makes them more efficient and transparent. Individual contributions are recorded and quantified, making it difficult to falsify them and forcing individuals to contribute to the network in exchange for material goods. Altruism becomes the only choice because altruism is the greatest self-interest.

In the era of altruism, in order to better explore the value of the individual, we need to build our own social capital. Social capital is the ability to connect society, the stronger this ability, the greater the value we can achieve through collaborative networks. Of course, this also depends on the development of various systems and technologies.

Life Curation

Curation literally means collecting, organizing, and presenting something. The deeper meaning is to create a situation so as to achieve the goals of reaching a deal, conveying information, and exporting value.

In his best-selling book "A Brief History of Mankind", Hilarie states that mankind has been able to gather a large number of human beings and cooperate flexibly through fictional stories. Curation can be seen as a way of storytelling. Life curation is the collection, organization, and presentation of POWs in the life cycle of individuals in order to build their social capital and help in value capture.

The decentralized curation protocol designed and developed by our DAO will help the realization of life curation. By defining an NFT with combinability and financial attributes, it will help people make more fair, just, and transparent economic distribution in collaboration, portfolio innovation, trading, investment, and promoting goods. It also helps DAO to capture value.

We will use this decentralized curation protocol as the economic infrastructure to help us better achieve our mission.

Becoming "Superman"

The curation is the result of what has been accomplished. Before that, we TheBards DAO want to help people strive to become the "Superman" described by Nietzsche: the "Superman" is the person who can best embody the will to live, the most creative person, and the strongest person in life.

We will use rich knowledge to improve people's cognition, use high-quality products and services to arm people's hands, and use efficient teamwork to magnify individual strengths. Let all people who have the consciousness to find love and meaning in their hearts unite to forge a poetic life. The so-called poetic life is a life of knowing what can't be done but still fighting, a life of giving full play to one's greatest potential, and a life that lives toward death. This is our TheBards DAO.

Mission, Vision, Values

Mission: To discover the value of everyone

Vision: To live in a world where everyone can be the best they can be fairly and freely.

Values: Open Innovation, Lifelong Learning, Encourage Action, Unity of Knowledge And Action

"Man is the sum total of all his social relations", Marx said in "Theses on Feuerbach".

Capital is a value that brings surplus value. By this reasoning, social capital is simply the value of an individual in a social network.

In the era of web3.0, why is social capital so important? In fact, social capital is very important at any time in history and anywhere in the world. It is only because the native Value Layer of web3 gives us the possibility to measure social capital, thus hopefully creating a human society with more equal opportunities.

Building social capital requires the outward transmission of value and the inward recognition of value. Therefore, the construction of social capital is also a transaction, a two-way interactive process. For example, in the process of iteratively calculating the weight of a webpage through the PageRank algorithm, it is necessary to consider the out-link and in-link of the webpage at the same time, as shown below.

Social capital is dynamic rather than static, it will change due to the increase or decrease of social value identification, which comes from personal value transmission. The first is value transfer, and then value identification is generated, thereby building personal social capital.

In web3, our decentralised identities will track and store all our respective community activities, contributions, achievements and various types of content published, thereby creating an immutable record of who we are and what we stand for. All these records will help us build social capital, like brand value. Tokenised communities will bridge existing creator economies to become true ownership economies, with members, consumers and fans enjoying a direct connection to the icons, creators and brands they love, while having a stake in the collective value upside they co-create.

In general, DID delivers value, and tokenized communities gather social value recognition, both of which will help sovereign individuals build their own social capital.

crowdfund://0x1cdd7AdB3149151bFCe69124341fcf280198C033?features=overview,backers
