With the start of a new year and new opportunities on the horizon for Verasity, let’s take a quick look back at everything we accomplished in 2021.

Before we get started, we want to give a huge thanks to our community, who have joined us on this exciting journey of making Verasity the leading protocol for ad tech and Esports in the world!

We’ve got a lot of ground to cover, so we’ll start by exploring our progress across the core Verasity ad tech stack modules, before taking a deep dive into VeraEsports and its growth this year. Let’s go!

Verasity, from a top-down view, is a modular ecosystem. Many of our multifaceted products can either stand alone as tools for public users, or they can be combined as powerful tools for enterprise clients. Deployed as one, in our VeraViews ad tech stack, our Verasity modules change the paradigm of advertising and content creation for users worldwide.

Here, we’re going to distill our 2021 progress across our different product modules. But remember, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and every improvement to a single Verasity module significantly improves our entire ad tech stack for our clients.

The development of our NFT Marketplace will include creator perpetual licenses for resales, a flourishing in-game NFT cosmetics marketplace that crosses over with VeraEsports, and an application of our Proof of View module for our NFT Marketplace that will stop NFT fraud.

To give some context for our NFT focus for 2022, and the development of this vertical during 2021, let’s look at some NFT fraud statistics. Despite still being in its infancy, NFT fraud has already seen individual users scammed out of hundreds of thousands in ETH, and experts are already debating how to prevent NFT fraud and protect users.

When you discover that single NFTs have sold for upwards of $69m, you will appreciate that stopping NFT fraud in its tracks is a huge market opportunity for Proof of View, and this is going to be a core focus for us in 2022.

The key message here? Verasity technology opens up new perspectives for larger brands to safely and conveniently operate NFTs in a complete ecosystem powered by Proof of View technology to deal with NFT fraud. With the likes of Nike, McDonald’s, and Meta moving into the NFT space in 2022, the opportunity is ripe for Verasity to provide our technology and stop fraud for good.

One of our most significant developments in 2021 has been rebranding and building out VeraEsports, our dedicated content stream for the Esports space and powerful proof of concept for Verasity’s Watch and Earn technology. Throughout 2021, we pursued several major updates and integrations for VeraEsports, some of which continue through 2022.

On top of these major updates, integrations, and tournament sponsorships, the Verasity team completely restructured VeraEsports during 2021 both technically and feature-wise, according to partner feedback. This led us to release a completely new version of the VeraEsports platform that you can experience for yourself today. Let’s explore some of the new features we added.

Among the many improvements we made, tournament creation flow was changed to be more streamlined and user-friendly. We introduced the ability to edit tournament creation, with the ability to tailor almost every parameter, with better visibility, better privacy controls, and a completely redesigned control panel and dedicated tournament page.

Similarly, joining tournaments became a frictionless process, and we are pleased to share that anyone can now quickly board an Esports tournament through VeraEsports and deal with any additional arrangements later.

The Esports team creation process is now less restrictive and simplified, and we’ve introduced a system of invites that allows you to gather your friends for Esports teams in an effortless manner. Users can have multiple individual teams that are dedicated to specific games. After all, gaming is better with friends!

The Redemption store now seamlessly uses Rewards account integration with VeraEsports, and allows VeraEsports users to easily view and spend their rewards balance without the necessity of additional login.

We also introduced an automatic tournament check-in feature, allowing for easy filtering of active players before the tournament start, making the life of tournament admins and other players much easier. Likewise, the match check-in feature waits for the confirmation of both sides before starting the match, and players may decide not to check in mutually, to postpone the match automatically if circumstances change. When a single side checks in without check-in confirmation from the other team, it will be granted a technical victory after the check-in period ends.

Finally, we’ve added a map voting feature that allows players to vote against specific game maps before the match starts. Sides vote one-by-one until a designated number of maps remains in the list and after the voting phase, the match starts.
