Profit-taking, and perhaps a strategy to exit the market altogether, does not mean panic selling.

"Unless you need money urgently, avoid panic selling," says Fedor Linnik, founder of several NFTS (irreplaceable tokens) projects. In retrospect, he says, "greed, fear of missing the top" was a mistake he made in 2018. Make sales decisions based on data, not emotional or social media advice.

Keep your job

Think twice before quitting your job to pursue your interest in cryptocurrency. If you have bills to pay, you might be better off sticking to a safe job, and your involvement in cryptocurrencies may be a side gig.

"If you have a job, keep it unless you're absolutely sure you're better off doing cryptocurrency full-time. Especially if you want to be a trader, most people who think they need full-time don't really need full-time and end up overtrading, "Cred said.

Live a life outside of cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrencies are a 24/7 market. The industry often feels like a fast-moving Netflix show that can easily be taken away to the exclusion of other things in life.

"Have hobbies, friends outside of crypto and finance, read books and articles outside of crypto and finance," Cred said.

But this also applies to your portfolio. "If crypto goes up, enough crypto to be happy, and if it goes down, enough elsewhere to survive," Foobar swears by the maxim.
