This follows a string of early wins at Ethereum Argentina’s Level Up Hackathon, where ChatterPay took first prize in the Keystore track and became the most voted team in Quadratic Funding. Additional victories at Ethereum Uruguay and ICP Chain Fusion Hackathon BA further validated the product’s potential.

In May, the team was selected for the Scroll Open Campus in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a global stage to showcase their innovation and prepare for broader market rollout.

How It Works

Using ChatterPay feels just like chatting. To get started, a user simply opens a WhatsApp conversation with ChatterPay’s bot (no download needed) and follows a few friendly prompts to set up their wallet.

From then on, everything happens through messaging – you can type a command or tap a quick-reply button to check your balance, send money, or request payments. For example, you might just text “Send $5 to John”, and ChatterPay will guide you through confirming and executing that transfer right within the chat. Behind the scenes, ChatterPay runs on the new Scroll network, an Ethereum-based blockchain that processes transactions quickly and with negligible fees.

This ensures that sending money via ChatterPay is near-instant and costs just pennies in network fees.

The wallet also uses something called account abstraction, an advanced technology that essentially turns your crypto wallet into a smart, user-friendly account.

In plain English, this means ChatterPay can pack a lot of safety and simplicity into the experience: you don’t need to manage long cryptographic keys or worry about gas (transaction fees) in the usual way. What’s Live Now & What’s Coming Next

As of today, ChatterPay is live on Scroll Mainnet with its core features enabled.

Users can instantly create a wallet in WhatsApp, send or receive USDC, and view transactions all through a conversational interface.

The focus at launch is person-to-person transfers (think splitting a lunch bill with a friend or sending some funds to your family abroad) and making those transactions feel as natural as a normal chat.

Every payment happens on-chain (recorded on the Scroll blockchain) but feels as simple as sending a text, thanks to ChatterPay’s design.

Looking ahead, the team behind ChatterPay plans to roll out more capabilities and broaden its reach.
