What ideas, concepts, or experiences does this body of work communicate?

The exhibition is about bringing African Female artists into the spotlight. We want to tell stories from the African woman perspective and we want to show that there’s the presence of these amazing artworks in the web3 space. It’s going to consist of 35 pieces exhibited in a physical gallery and 50 artworks exhibited in the metaverse

The reason why this exhibition is curated by two Nigerian women is because we want to take charge of telling our stories instead of waiting for others to do that for us.

There are talented artists from Africa telling their stories through art in the Nft space. They deserve to be celebrated and supported and this exhibition is doing that.

What inspirations or traditions guided or influenced this body of work? This exhibition is greatly influenced by our Nigerian heritage, we are passionate about bringing attention to Nigerian and African women in art. There are a lot of talented African women in the Nft space, however, we are marginalised and often left out of important opportunities. We have seen a lot of women forced to leave the Nft space due to lack of exposure and not being appreciated. Our aim is to help alleviate this possible loss of talents by curating an exhibition aimed at supporting and bringing awareness to these amazing up and coming female artists.

Any special installation needs or requirements? The installation of this exhibition requires walls,pedestals,digital screens and popup bars for the entertainment deck. We plan on designing a space for the layout of the works, thus, we will be setting up different scenes that will enable the visitors to appreciate the artworks better.

Proposed date: The exhibition is going to be a one-day physical exhibition and it will be shown in different galleries.

Budget

The exhibition is proposed to go live both in a physical location and in a virtual location. The event has a budget of $6,850 in order for it to be a success. This is an estimated amount and any money left will be used to pay volunteers and buy artworks.

Sponsorships and sponsorship plans

We are seeking sponsorships from individuals and Web3 oriented companies to help with the following:

A physical space for exhibiting the selected works.

Printing of the selected pieces into physical form.

Rental of screens for the display of a few animated: 3d art pieces .

Sponsorship for fund the payment of the event planning team( Event planning includes: catering for attendees, decoration of exhibition space, production of exhibition merchandise, printing of brochures,photo-booth,etc)
