Primero comencé a pensar qué diseño podría crear, de qué trataría y cuál sería la historia detrás de mi NFT. Lo primero que hice fue lanzar varias ideas que después fueron organizadas y pulidas lo que me llegó a una única que pudo contemplar todo lo que quería mostrar en mi primer token.

Esta historia si bien muestra un poco de la mía, creo que también muestra lo que cada una de nosotras vivió en esta aventura de #WomenInWeb3 de WomenBiz.

Para elaborar la imagen me apoyé en la IA de Bing, mi página favorita para generar imágenes, entonces decidí también ayudarme de ChatGPT para crear un prompt que incluya todo lo que quería en la imagen. Y como ustedes saben me iba dando varias opciones de imágenes, algunas me gustaron mucho y no quise sólo escoger una así que decidí realizar un GIF con mis favoritos y para ello me ayuda de Canva.

Como pueden ver utilice varias herramientas muy útiles y vistas durante nuestras clases. Ya luego de tener el diseño y en base a mis ideas empecé a crear la historia.

Cada imagen refleja a una joven que se está abriendo paso para nuevas oportunidades, nuevas puertas que se abren en su camino, de diferentes tipos, cada uno representando ese viaje que tuvimos y tendremos al recorrer la web3.

Ahí va de la mano del título de este NFT, viajeras del metaverso, quise también combinar que cada mundo es distinto y puede que nos topemos con diferentes cosas ya sea para bien o para mal, pero de todas obtendremos una gran experiencia.

Quedando ya hecha la imagen y la historia, comencé a configura en Litemint la creación de mi NFT, como en toda página debes registrarte y conectar tu wallet para realizar las transacciones.

Luego de haber realizado estos pasos, empecé a copiar toda la información que me pedía título, descripción, cantidad, palabras clave, entre otros datos. Para llegar al paso de aceptar y firmar la transacción.

Dato importante, es recomendable que tengan al menos 10XLM para que la página no los paré diciendo que tienen pocos fondos, ya después de todo el proceso ponemos en crear y listo ya tienes tu NFT.

Pero un paso importante, luego de esto debes configurar cuántos pondrás a la venta y a qué precio, para luego poder compartirlo con tu red y que ellos puedan comprar y apoyar tu trabajo.

Algo bonito dentro del curso fue que cada una debía crear su propio NFT, pero también mintear los de tus compañeros, la verdad hubo muy lindos NFTs, cada una dándole su estilo único y con una diferente historia, digna de ser leída.

Ten en cuenta que para mintear los NFTs también debes contar con un poco de XLM para el pago y el fee de estos. Puedes acceder a estos mediante los links que te pasen, te conectas con tu cuenta, pagas el precio del token, firmas la transacción y listo ya los tienes en tu billetera de Stellar.

La adopción generalizada podría requerir superar barreras como la brecha digital, la necesidad de educación y familiarización con las billeteras digitales por parte de los beneficiarios, y la coordinación con las regulaciones financieras en diferentes países. Además, la sostenibilidad a largo plazo y la ampliación de la infraestructura necesaria para facilitar la conversión a efectivo en áreas remotas serán consideraciones importantes.

Pero la colaboración continua entre organizaciones humanitarias, empresas tecnológicas y gobiernos será clave para que esta visión se convierta en una realidad global.

Personalmente este caso me llamo mucho la atención no solo por el hecho de que se está usando esta tecnología sino porque ayudará a muchas personas a nivel mundial, ya no dependeremos de terceros para hacer llegar o recibir ayuda. Creo que es un proyecto social que tendrá un impacto bastante positivo para todos.

Las tradiciones culturales de Bolivia, que son el alma de la identidad nacional, están siendo debilitadas. La migración hacia ciudades y la globalización están desconectando a las personas de sus raíces culturales. Además, la falta de documentación y educación sobre estas prácticas, junto con el desinterés de los jóvenes, está acelerando su desaparición. La pérdida de estas tradiciones no solo afecta a las prácticas culturales, sino que también erosiona la identidad y el sentido de pertenencia de las comunidades indígenas.

La Solución: Tokenización a través de NFTs

Imagina poder capturar la esencia de una danza tradicional, un ritual ancestral o una narración oral en un NFT (Non-Fungible Token), garantizando su preservación digital para siempre. La tokenización de estas tradiciones permite no solo su conservación en la blockchain, sino también su monetización. Las comunidades locales pueden beneficiarse económicamente de la venta y reventa de estos NFTs, asegurando que las tradiciones no solo sobrevivan, sino que prosperen en el ámbito digital.

El mercado objetivo: Un proyecto con impacto social

Este proyecto está diseñado para impactar a varios grupos clave:

• Comunidades locales: Los custodios de estas tradiciones, que se beneficiarán directamente de los ingresos generados por los NFTs.

• Bolivianos en el extranjero: Quienes pueden conectarse con sus raíces culturales y contribuir a su preservación desde cualquier parte del mundo.

• Coleccionistas de NFTs y cultura: Entusiastas del arte digital y el patrimonio que valoran piezas únicas y auténticas.

• Organizaciones culturales y educativas: Instituciones que verán en los NFTs una herramienta poderosa para la educación y la promoción de la cultura boliviana.

El problema que hemos identificado es la burocracia compleja y los altos costos asociados al proceso de creación y registro de nuevos negocios en Bolivia. Este proceso actualmente requiere múltiples trámites en diversas instituciones, lo cual no solo es costoso y consume tiempo, sino que también es una barrera significativa para los emprendedores, especialmente aquellos con recursos limitados. Estos obstáculos desincentivan la formalización de negocios, lo que contribuye a que más del 80% de la población boliviana opere en la economía informal.

Planteamiento de las reglas del contrato

El contrato inteligente propuesto seguirá las siguientes reglas:

• Registro Automático: Los emprendedores podrán registrar su negocio ingresando la información requerida en la plataforma. El contrato verificará automáticamente la completitud y validez de los datos.

• Gestión de Permisos: Una vez registrado, el contrato inteligente enviará solicitudes automáticas a las instituciones relevantes para la obtención de permisos y licencias necesarias.

• Reducción de Costos: Se implementarán tarifas dinámicas basadas en el tamaño y la naturaleza del negocio, con la posibilidad de obtener descuentos o exenciones automáticas para pequeños emprendimientos.

• Excepciones: El contrato manejará excepciones, como errores en la documentación o necesidades de permisos adicionales, a través de mecanismos de retroalimentación automática y reenvío de solicitudes.

Para asegurar la equidad y transparencia, la plataforma será completamente auditable, y cada paso del proceso será registrado en la blockchain, permitiendo un seguimiento claro de las acciones.

Automatización

El proceso de registro empresarial y la obtención de permisos y licencias se automatizará completamente. Esto eliminará la necesidad de que los emprendedores realicen múltiples visitas a diferentes oficinas gubernamentales y reducirá significativamente el riesgo de errores humanos, demoras y costos adicionales.

Descripción del Smart Contract

El contrato inteligente propuesto consiste en una plataforma descentralizada que interactúa con varias instituciones a través de contratos individuales:

• Contrato de Registro Empresarial: Recibe y valida la información del negocio y automáticamente registra la empresa en la base de datos nacional.

• Contrato de Permisos y Licencias: Solicita, gestiona, y emite permisos de operación a través de interfaces automatizadas con las instituciones correspondientes.

• Contrato de Tarifas y Exenciones: Calcula y gestiona los pagos requeridos, ajustando tarifas según las condiciones predefinidas y gestionando exenciones cuando sea aplicable.

Estos contratos están interconectados y se comunican a través de una red blockchain, compartiendo datos y asegurando que cada paso del proceso fluya de manera continua y transparente.

Consecuencias sociales

Esta solución beneficiará enormemente a la sociedad al simplificar el proceso de creación de empresas, facilitando el acceso a la formalización para emprendedores y pequeños empresarios. Al reducir las barreras burocráticas, se incentivará la creación de negocios formales, lo que a su vez contribuirá a un aumento en la recaudación fiscal, generación de empleo, y desarrollo económico. Sin embargo, se debe tener cuidado de que esta automatización no excluya a aquellos que no tienen acceso a tecnologías digitales o que carecen de habilidades tecnológicas.

Sostenibilidad

Para asegurar la sostenibilidad de la solución, la plataforma se basará en una infraestructura descentralizada con mantenimiento automatizado a través de contratos inteligentes actualizables. Los recursos necesarios incluyen la colaboración continua con las instituciones gubernamentales y el apoyo de la comunidad de desarrolladores para mejorar y adaptar la plataforma con el tiempo. Además, se prevé la implementación de un modelo de financiamiento participativo para cubrir los costos operativos y garantizar su funcionamiento a largo plazo.

Conclusiones

La burocracia en Bolivia es una barrera significativa para el emprendimiento, especialmente para aquellos con recursos limitados. La solución propuesta de utilizar contratos inteligentes para automatizar el proceso de registro empresarial y la obtención de permisos no solo reducirá costos y tiempos, sino que también incentivará la formalización de negocios. Esto contribuirá a un entorno económico más dinámico y equitativo, alineado con las necesidades y aspiraciones de los emprendedores bolivianos.

Recomendaciones

Se recomienda la implementación gradual de la plataforma, comenzando con pilotos en sectores específicos y adaptándola según los comentarios de los usuarios. Además, es crucial asegurar que todos los emprendedores, incluidos aquellos en áreas rurales o con acceso limitado a la tecnología, puedan beneficiarse de esta innovación.

Los NFTs, o tokens no fungibles, son activos digitales únicos almacenados en la tecnología blockchain, lo que asegura su autenticidad y propiedad. A diferencia de las criptomonedas, que son intercambiables, cada NFT es único, lo que los hace especialmente valiosos en diferentes áreas, como el arte, la música y ahora, la educación.

En el ámbito educativo y laboral, los NFTs están revolucionando la forma en que se valida y comparte el conocimiento. Por ejemplo, pueden usarse para emitir microcredenciales que demuestran habilidades específicas, lo que facilita a los emprendedores a destacar en el competitivo mercado laboral. Además, la tokenización de registros académicos permite que los estudiantes mantengan el control sobre sus logros, haciendo que la verificación de credenciales sea más fácil y transparente para empleadores y otras instituciones.

Elegí explorar este tema porque creo firmemente que los NFTs tienen el potencial de transformar la educación en general, y estoy convencida de que esta tecnología puede ser una herramienta poderosa para los profesionales en su camino hacia el éxito educativo y laboral. Además de que me encanta coleccionar este tipo de tokens, en especial los llamados POAPs (Proof of Attendance Protocol o Protocolo de Prueba de Asistencia).

Certificados y diplomas digitales

Imaginemos que cada certificado digital es un NFT, una representación única de una credencial o diploma. Al estar alojados en la blockchain, no solo garantizan que el certificado es genuino y propiedad de quien lo posee, sino que también son accesibles y verificables por cualquier tercero, eliminando el riesgo de falsificación. Pero, ¿por qué los certificados NFT son tan ventajosos? Acá te enlisto las más importantes: Imagen generada por IA para ilustrar el concepto de NFTs.

• Autenticidad garantizada: Cada NFT es una prueba única y verificable de un logro educativo.

• Inmutabilidad total: Una vez creado, el NFT no puede ser alterado, lo que preserva la integridad del certificado.

• Accesibilidad universal: Los certificados NFT pueden almacenarse en carteras digitales, listos para ser presentados en cualquier momento.

• Verificación sencilla: Empleadores e instituciones pueden comprobar la autenticidad de un certificado con facilidad, simplificando el proceso de validación.

Como vemos, existe un sinfín de beneficios que incentiva a que más personas conozcan y utilicen este tipo de credenciales, ya que además es la nueva tecnología de hoy en día. En Latinoamérica, varias plataformas ya están liderando el camino en la adopción de NFTs para la certificación, dentro de los que pude investigar, están:

• Coderhouse y Lemon: Estas entidades colaboraron para ofrecer un diploma en formato NFT en su curso de Data Analytics, marcando un hito en la validación digital de habilidades.

• SigneBlock: Especializada en la creación de certificados NFT, esta plataforma se centra en garantizar la autenticidad y propiedad de credenciales educativas, combatiendo la falsificación y asegurando la verificación fácil de logros.

• Instituciones educativas: Se espera que más universidades y escuelas en la región adopten esta tecnología para emitir diplomas y certificados, mejorando la transparencia y confianza en la educación.

En resumen, los NFTs están revolucionando la forma en que validamos y compartimos el conocimiento, ofreciendo soluciones seguras y modernas que benefician tanto a estudiantes como a empleadores en el mundo educativo y profesional.

Acceso exclusivo a contenido educativo

Estos tokens están revolucionando la educación al ofrecer acceso exclusivo a cursos, mentorías y eventos. Esta tecnología está siendo aprovechada por diversas iniciativas para crear experiencias de aprendizaje enriquecedoras, especialmente para mujeres emprendedoras.

Estas plataformas están utilizando NFTs como llaves de acceso a contenido educativo de alta calidad. Un ejemplo destacado es Acmé, una colección de NFTs fundada por mujeres mexicanas que no solo impulsa el arte digital, sino que también ofrece a sus titulares acceso a talleres y eventos centrados en el bienestar y la salud mental. Esto demuestra cómo los NFTs pueden convertirse en pases para experiencias de aprendizaje únicas.

Además, iniciativas como Tribu Tech Latam integran programas de mentorías dentro de su ecosistema de NFTs. Los miembros de esta comunidad, al poseer estos tokens, pueden acceder a mentorías con expertos de la industria tecnológica, lo que les permite recibir orientación valiosa en su trayectoria empresarial.

También están abriendo puertas a eventos y oportunidades de networking exclusivos. Tribu Tech Latam organiza encuentros presenciales donde las mujeres emprendedoras pueden conectar y colaborar con otras profesionales del sector tech. Estas conexiones pueden transformarse en colaboraciones estratégicas y nuevas oportunidades de negocio.

Proyectos como Boss Beauties también han demostrado el poder de los NFTs para crear comunidades fuertes en torno a objetivos compartidos. Estas comunidades organizan eventos y actividades diseñadas para empoderar y apoyar a las mujeres emprendedoras, mostrando el gran potencial de esta tecnología para fomentar la unión y el crecimiento colectivo.

Como puedes ver, los NFTs están transformando la educación al ofrecer acceso exclusivo a cursos, mentorías y eventos. Pero como en todos los rubros, estas y más iniciativas buscan centrarse un poco más en las mujeres en general es por ello que también decidí tocar este tema centrado más en el empoderamiento de las mujeres y además por ser parte de esta linda comunidad como lo se Mujeres en Crypto (MEC).

Impacto en la comunidad de mujeres en cripto

La adopción de NFTs está teniendo un impacto transformador en la comunidad de mujeres en el ámbito de las criptomonedas, impulsando el empoderamiento y abriendo puertas a nuevas formas de conexión y aprendizaje. A continuación, te muestro cómo esta tecnología está beneficiando a las mujeres en el espacio cripto:

1.Empoderamiento a través de la creatividad

Los NFTs están empoderando a las mujeres al permitirnos expresar nuestra creatividad y monetizar nuestras habilidades. Proyectos liderados por mujeres están ganando visibilidad en el mundo de los NFTs, proporcionando no solo una plataforma para mostrar su talento, sino también una fuente significativa de ingresos. Por ejemplo, Boss Beauties ha recaudado millones en ventas, demostrando el enorme potencial financiero para las mujeres en este sector.

2. Construcción de redes y comunidades

La comunidad de NFTs está evolucionando hacia un espacio más inclusivo y solidario. Muchas mujeres están utilizando estas plataformas para conectar con otras creadoras y coleccionistas, facilitando el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias. Women in Blockchain Talks, fundada por Lavinia Osbourne, destaca cómo el arte digital puede ser un puente para atraer a más mujeres al mundo cripto, haciendo que la tecnología sea menos intimidante y más accesible.

3.Educación y conciencia

El creciente interés de las mujeres en el espacio de los NFTs está impulsado por la educación y la conciencia sobre sus beneficios. Talleres y eventos están siendo organizados para enseñar a las mujeres sobre criptomonedas y NFTs, subrayando las oportunidades financieras que esta tecnología ofrece. Como es el caso de Acmé.

Los NFTs están abriendo nuevas oportunidades de inversión para las mujeres. A medida que más mujeres se suman a este espacio, pueden beneficiarse de la transferencia de criptomonedas facilitada por esta tecnología. La capacidad de crear y vender NFTs permite a las emprendedoras diversificar sus fuentes de ingresos y participar activamente en la economía digital.

Estos ejemplos ilustran cómo los NFTs están creando un entorno más empoderador e inclusivo para las mujeres en el mundo cripto, fomentando su participación y abriendo nuevas posibilidades para el aprendizaje y la conexión.

Conclusión

Los NFTs están emergiendo como una herramienta revolucionaria en la educación y el empoderamiento, especialmente para las mujeres en el ámbito de las criptomonedas. La dinámica básicamente consiste en utilizar un grupo de palabras que se fueron dictando cada space que tenía la comunidad a través de X, y con todas estas poder crear algo bonito como un cuento, canción, chiste o lo que te imagines.

En mi caso elegí hacer este cuento, espero les guste tanto como a mí, e inicia así…

En un pueblo escondido entre montañas digitales y redes de cables invisibles, vivía una joven llamada Lía, apasionada por el cyber activismo. Su sueño era cambiar el mundo con la descentralización de las ideas y el conocimiento. Lía no tenía grandes título en su curriculum, pero poseía algo mucho más poderoso: una lámpara mágica que había heredado de su abuela.

Esta no era una lámpara cualquiera. Cuando la encendías, emitía una luz capaz de atravesar la opacidad de las mentiras y la censura impuesta por los poderosos. Cada noche, Lía la utilizaba para proyectar mensajes en el cielo, inspirando a otros a soñar con un futuro más libre y justo.

Un día, mientras paseaba por el mercado, encontró una papaya que parecía ordinaria, pero al abrirla, descubrió una vara dorada oculta en su interior. "Es la vara de la resiliencia", dijo un anciano que la observaba desde un puesto cercano. "Te ayudará a levantarte cuando las cosas se pongan difíciles”.

Esa noche, Lía se enfrentó al reto más grande de su vida. Las autoridades del pueblo, temerosas de la influencia de sus mensajes, habían encontrado la manera de interferir con su lámpara. La joven sabía que tenía que actuar rápido. Sin dudarlo, se armó de su vara y se lanzó al mundo virtual, creando una red privada donde las personas pudieran compartir ideas sin miedo.

La lucha fue intensa. A veces sentía ganas de arrojarse al abismo del agotamiento, pero cada vez que caía, la vara la ayudaba a levantarse. Poco a poco, la red creció, y con ella, una comunidad de soñadores que creían en la libertad.

Al final, Lía no solo logró mantener encendida la luz de su lámpara, sino que también encendió una chispa de esperanza en cada persona que escuchó su mensaje. Supo entonces que no importa cuán difícil sea el camino, la verdadera victoria radica en no dejar de soñar y en levantarse, una y otra vez, con la fuerza de la resiliencia.

¿Y la papaya? Bueno, esa se convirtió en el símbolo de su movimiento. Porque incluso en las cosas más simples puede estar escondida la magia.

One of the most special aspects for me has been getting to know my peers, all from different parts of the world and unique career paths. Thanks to LinkedIn, I was able to discover their profiles, and that allowed me to see how (although we come from different backgrounds), we share the same interest in learning about Web3 and DeFi. We each have a story, and we are all driven by the same desire to empower more women in the crypto space.

This feeling of community has been evident in every session. We had fun and unique moments, such as our Halloween celebration, where we all dressed up in costumes and spent the class in a very special way. Also, we shared music in each class, each participant chooses a song they like, that also allowed us to get to know each other's tastes and feel closer.

Although we don't do teamwork, the support is constant. From email reminders to messages in the Discord group, there is always someone willing to help if anyone has a problem or question. Something very nice that we shared was reading the experiences of some of our colleagues from the event in Bangkok, where they had the opportunity to meet each other in person, something that I also wish to experience in the future.

This all-female space has been fundamental to feel comfortable and empowered. I feel grateful to be surrounded by women who, like me, believe in the power of education and technology to create change. SheFi has been a place where we not only learn, but also grow and support each other (also thanks to the team and Celo for making it possible).

My plans from this program go beyond the technical knowledge I have acquired, I want to take everything I have learned back to my country, Bolivia, and teach other women not only the theory of DeFi, but how to really take advantage of this technology for their financial independence.

In addition, through these articles and my experiences, I want to invite more women from LATAM to join SheFi and take advantage of this kind of learning and connection opportunities. Together we can build a strong and supportive community in Web3, and I am sure this is just the beginning!

One of the first lessons that stood out for me was understanding how blockchain layers, the famous L1 and L2, work. Although they are complex concepts, I learned to differentiate them and, even better, to understand how they complement each other to offer solutions within the ecosystem. We also delved into Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, two key mechanisms to validate and secure transactions. It was challenging at first! But now it's clear to me how each contributes to the security and scalability of blockchain projects.

Beyond DeFi: Building communities and DAOs

Although SheFi focuses on DeFi, I realized that the applications of blockchain are much broader. In addition to allowing us to buy, sell and invest in cryptoassets, I learned that this ecosystem can serve as a foundation for building powerful communities, such as DAOs (decentralized autonomous organizations) and social projects. Discovering how blockchain can be used to create inclusive, community-based organizations was one of the “wow!” moments of the program. It motivated me to think about how I could apply my work experience and knowledge to build and join similar projects.

Learning more about Celo

By delving into specific platforms like Celo, I experienced what it is like to operate in a blockchain community. The Celo community focuses on financial inclusion, making transactions more accessible and with reduced barriers. I was able to explore how to transact and swap between different assets, which gave me real-world practice with cryptocurrencies. Every step was a learning experience, from simple transfers to swaps and using bridges to cross assets between different blockchains.

Real practice: Transactions and tools at DeFi

One of the most exciting parts was applying everything to real transactions. From performing swaps and exchanges to practicing with bridges, the SheFi program allowed us to experiment hands-on, and this really reinforced my knowledge. It helped me understand that beyond the theories and tutorials, the world of cryptocurrencies and DeFi is a live experience, and being able to actively participate in it was an incredible experience.

Looking forward: Applying Web3 to my career

After this experience, it is clear to me that I want to take my Web3 knowledge into my career. Being a commercial engineer with a passion for digital marketing, entrepreneurship education and volunteer work, I see an incredible opportunity to merge my interests into impactful projects in this space. There is still a lot to learn, but SheFi has given me the confidence and skills to take the next step on this path.

I came to this course through several reviews of fellow women who made by Twitter, then I decided I wanted to take the next step, so I decided to apply. Big was my surprise when I received the confirmation email to be part of SheFi, then I committed to learn and give my best to take advantage of this great opportunity.

Something that I really liked was the agenda that would be taken during the program, as it seemed very innovative, I believe that one never stops learning and even more so in the web3 world, that's why I was more excited to be part of this beautiful experience.

From the beginning, my expectations were high because I had read very good recommendations of the course, and I think they were all fulfilled, I learned a lot of things both theoretical and practical, but I think the most valuable thing was that I met women from around the world who have the same vision as me, it was nice to connect with them through the SheFi community.

Within the topics that were advanced, I think they were all important and necessary for our knowledge, but another thing that I liked a lot about the dynamics within the course were the materials that were used in the presentations, theoretical content, examples, gifs, motivational phrases and all this purely for women.

It was very exciting because I think that each one felt identified with it, plus we also had several activities and breaks, where for example we listened to music, we did challenges or short tasks, all with the aim of assimilating what we learned, but also to have fun doing it.

For example, creating a wallet, making basic DeFi transactions, getting to know DeFi projects, and sharing the experiences we lived each week together with the SheFi community. In addition, you could meet more women interested and working web3 which was creating a very interesting and valuable network for all of us.

Like any learning process, there are always challenges, I think I only had some problems with the SheFi wallet because it was not allowed in my country, but that was not an impediment to not learn, I used other options to do my homework and also within the community and the SheFi team supported me in that, is another thing that I liked a lot.

If you had any problems there was always someone to contact, plus we had a space for everything, to ask questions, share our social networks, share photos and music, share web3 works, in short, there were endless activities that sought not only to take advantage of the community but to connect all of us.

I think the course had a positive impact on my education and even more on my relationship with the web3 world, seeing so many opportunities that can be realized in this ecosystem motivates me to continue learning, but also to take advantage of opportunities based on my knowledge and experience. I would like to be able to teach everything I learned to more women in my country, because it is something that is always missing to be able to adopt these new tools and that is web3 education.

Although this course is not over yet, I think I took full advantage of the whole experience, I learned many things and met great people. So, if you ask me if I recommend the program, I would say yes, it is really something unique that I would like more women to live it, be part of this nice community where you will learn about DeFi.

One of the projects I loved doing was creating my own token, and thanks to the classes I had at the Women in DeFi Bootcamp of the WomenBiz community.

Seeing so much acceptance by my friends and colleagues within the X community, I was encouraged not only to talk about this project but also to teach them how to create one of their own.

In this tutorial I will show you how to create your own token on the Stellar network, using as an example my personal token, LOTITO. From the choice of the name and design of the token, to giving liquidity and being able to buy tokens from other users. This whole process will be done in Testnet mode so you can experiment without any financial risk.

Let’s get started!

Step 1: What is a token and why create one?

A token is a digital representation of value in a blockchain. It can be used for multiple purposes, such as payouts, rewards or even for creative projects in any area you find yourself working on. Creating your own token can open the doors to new opportunities within the world of Web3, allowing you to have control over your digital assets and as I can imagine, Stellar also facilitates this process quickly and easily.

Step 2: Preparation for the creation of the token

Before you start creating the token in Stellar, you will need to perform certain necessary actions.

a1) Create a Stellar wallet on the test network (Testnet) to manage your token. For this, I recommend you use a wallet like Freighter in Testnet mode.

2) Get familiar with CheesecakeLabs. It is a platform where you can launch and manage your token within the Stellar ecosystem.

3) Access testnet in Freighter. The Stellar test network will allow you to simulate the creation of your token without using real money. At first you will not have funds to do so you can opt for the option of giving you funds, this is completely free just for you to learn how to use it.

Step 3: Creating the token in CheesecakeLabs

Follow these steps to create the token:

1) Log in to CheesecakeLabs in testnet mode: Go to CheesecakeLabs Testnet and log in with your Freighter wallet

2) Defines the token name and symbol:

• Token name: Here you will have to choose the name that identifies your token. For example, in my case I used the name "LOTITO", inspired by the representation of security and trust.

• Design: You can create a unique personality for your token, remember that it can be used in your community, friends, work or any area, and it is important to represent them.

Something curious I would like to add here is that this is my surname and it has a great meaning for me, so I wanted to give it that name and also make it representative for all my family in Bolivia, Argentina, Italy and other places where we spread out.

As for the design, I create it based on the cards of the Tarot, to the luck I took 3 cards which today represent my token, and thanks to the AI of Microsoft Bing, born LOTITO.

3) Define the total quantity: Decide how many units of the token you want to create. For example, in my case I defined a total of 100,000 LOTITOS.

4) Optional configurations: If you want to add additional features like the ability to "burn" tokens (remove tokens from circulation), you can do so here.

5) Launches the token: Once you have filled in all the information, press the "Create Token" button. Congratulations! Your token is now on the Stellar Testnet network.

*Important: As you can see you must enter 2 accounts, one that is the transmitter and another the receiver, for this I advise you to create two accounts in Freighter (as I explained in step 2). Then you will place the 1st account as sender and the 2nd account created as receiver.

In addition, you will see that all these actions we are performing must be signed and accepted in your wallet, as it is like a permission you give to these platforms, remember that all information is transparent and you can check it at any time through the links that send you as vouchers.

Step 4: Give your token liquidity

For this step you must send the total amount of your token to the 2nd account so that we can add liquidity, then you will press in Manage and you will have another tab to be able to send all the tokens from account 1 to 2. Go to the tab that says Manage.

After that, we'll go to the Soroswap page where we'll be able to give liquidity to the token for other people can buy and sell.

1) Connect your 2nd Freighter account to Soroswap:

• You go to the tab of Liquidit and press in Add Liquidity.

• Here you will enter what parity the token will have with XLM (Stellar’s token), for example, I put: 1,000 LOTITO will be equivalent to 2,000XLM.

2) Configure to get our token in the official token list:

• Soroswap works with already cured tokens, that is, those that are reliable and as our token is new we have to perform some extra steps.

• To find it we must copy the link of our token, in my case is: LOTITO:GBYOJ3HDS3WH2XRF6HSE5UAVLEXVYX3AZY4BHXOVADYYKQXXTO4LMFAYI. This information comes from the sum of your token name:address of your wallet.

• It will take a bit of time to find this part, but after you find it, just press your token and you’re done. Another important thing is that you always say the ":" which separates the name of the token from the other data, to facilitate the search.

3) Configure the purchase/sale orders:

• Then you will press on Wrap, that means a contract associated with your token will be created.

• You will get a danger message, but remember that this token is not on the Soroswap list and takes it as if it were not a reliable token. You must press in Understanding.

• So that’s where you can just put the ratio to your token in relation to XLM, press Create and you’re done.

• Finally, you press Add Liquidity and you will see in the liquidity tab that your transaction was successful and you can exchange your token for XLM, do not forget that we are working on testnet.

Step 5: Buy tokens from other users

Once your token has liquidity, you can also experiment by buying tokens from other users on the testnet.

1) Explore the testnet market: You go to the Swap tab and there you will see which tokens are available on the Testnet network.

2) Make simulated purchases: With the liquidity you have added, you can practice buying and selling tokens. Remember that they will also find out that your token does not exist, so they must follow step 4 to find it and then buy.

In my case I bought several tokens that created my fellow Bootcamp, there you can see some of their names and prices. Here I show you the process that had my token LOTITO.

Conclusion

Creating your own token in Stellar can be done easily using platforms like CheesecakeLabs. In this tutorial, I guided you through the steps to create the token, give it liquidity and start trading with it.

We had seen that Soroban helps quite part of smart contracts and today I wanted to find out more about which sectors can work, but in a disruptive way, because in this ecosystem there are no limits for the creation of new projects.

Specifically, I wanted to launch some project ideas in areas such as music, art, health and supply chains, since for example education and entrepreneurship had touched on it in another article. These industries are very interesting to investigate because not everyone is encouraged to look beyond the financial part, but in my case they are of interest to me and also I want to see beyond the horizon.

Innovative applications of Soroban

• Decentralized music: The music industry is full of intermediaries that limit artists' profits, I saw several cases of acquaintances who want to create on their own because they saw there is a lot of injustice in terms of their profits. But with Soroban, this could change so that musicians can receive automatic payments every time they listen to or download a song, without relying on third parties, they can design or modify their own contract and get greater rewards and reach international markets without worrying about depending on someone else.

Idea with Soroban: Smart contracts that automatically manage royalties for each reproduction, ensuring fair and fast payments to artists.

• Tokenization of art: It didn’t happen that sometimes you wanted to have a certain work of art, but either it’s very expensive or it’s in another country, that’s why this idea I liked quite because it would with Soroban, not only one person would own the art but those who wanted to invest in unique pieces by fractions of it. The purchase and collective ownership of these works would be managed, making them more accessible but also having the certainty that it is an original work.

Idea with Soroban: Create a platform for the purchase and sale of tokenized art, where property rights and auctions are managed automatically.

• Health and data security: In the area of health, a latent problem is the number of people to be treated, especially in public establishments where there must be adequate management of medical data. Smart contracts would ensure that all this documentation will not be altered, erased or lost and that only authorized personnel can access it, protecting the integrity and privacy of patients. But it could also contribute a lot to digitize and manage other relevant information which would help in terms of time, money and space.

Idea with Soroban: Smart contracts that manage the secure transfer of medical data between hospitals, ensuring that only authorized providers can access.

• International trade: Another interesting area where smart contracts would help a lot would be in import and export, here is handled a whole supply chain that unfortunately cannot be controlled 100% so what can be done about it, Yes, apply Soroban to automate the traceability of products from their origin to the final customer, ensuring transparency and authenticity. They would also no longer depend on forwarding agencies or other intermediaries, which meant more costs and time.

Idea with Soroban: Implement smart contracts to track products in the supply chain, ensuring authenticity and generating alerts for any irregularities.

These are some ideas of what could be created, I wanted to touch on these areas specifically because they are important today and because I also like to explore how art and music.

If you noticed, this is a great help because in all the cases we studied those intermediaries that cost time and money are eliminated, but now you can have control of all this and make the most of it.

In previous articles I had mentioned that you can create many more projects with Stellar and Soroban, as you see there are a lot of problems to solve, but that will depend on your interests and the innovative solutions you propose, but also that you find a good team to run it.

I've been learning about Stellar for almost 2 months, as I mentioned in my first article, I met them thanks to the Bootcamp I attended with the Women Biz community. During that period, I learned a lot about all the work they do.

This Bootcamp was possible thanks to the support that Stellar gave to this community of women, which allowed several girls to learn about DeFi, create their wallets, create their tokens among many other activities that we saw in class.

Today I want to tell you how was this educational process and how far I got and I plan to get with all that I was learning.

Steps and challenges

The classes were online on Saturdays, girls from different parts of LATAM were connected, it was very nice to meet so many people with similar interests in web3 and DeFi.

Each class we had different teachers who explained to us what decentralized finance is, what Stellar is and what opportunities we can build within this ecosystem.

From all the information, I would keep 3 things that interested me a lot:

• Knowing the Stellar ecosystem and how I can create projects in any area to work with the Stellar Foundation. During the classes you also had tasks or in this case challenges to accomplish which helped us to assimilate in a better way what we had learned. In this case, one of the challenges was to present an article where you talk about a project that interested you within the Stellar Foundation.

  I chose an educational project, because I was quite interested in how they work to promote web3 education in universities around the world, through courses, events and different activities where they teach the benefits of being in this ecosystem, this project is BAF. I recommend that you can see how they work as I was quite impressed with everything they do.

• Creating my own token. I also had the opportunity to create my own token “LOTITO”, the truth was a success because several people were interested in buying it and not only my family. It was a bit of a challenge, but the result was wonderful because not only I created it and gave it liquidity, I also created a whole story and meaning for the design of my token.

  It was a really nice experience and here I leave you some images of the creative process and I hope to make a video telling and showing you how to do it.

• Creating a personal project based on smart contracts. Another project that was exciting to create was the tokenization of Bolivian culture, in this case I had the idea that both the dances and traditions that my country has can be monetized so that lovers of this culture, Bolivians and foreigners, know the story behind it all. But also that they can contribute to the culture and economy.

And the last project I created was about entrepreneurship, a decentralized platform where people can create their businesses without so much bureaucracy, long waiting times and other latent obstacles. This would help facilitate all the processes and documentation needed to start a business, which will help boost the economy of my country.

I am quite amazed at what I was able to achieve with this Bootcamp and with the Stellar ecosystem.

Proud moments

These challenges were also scored and each week the 3 best projects were chosen as well as the three best students, I am happy to tell you that I was on the podium during all the weeks, this motivated me to continue with my education, continue creating educational articles and projects in general.

The biggest achievement I could get was to have obtained a perfect grade during the whole course, that's right, I was the best student during the Bootcamp, this was possible thanks to the dedication I put in my education as well as my curiosity and experience in content creation.

In addition, I must admit that each challenge made me get out of my comfort zone, which helped me grow not only professionally but also personally, I never tire of saying that I learned and experienced many things that today I am using them to grow as a person.

These moments are unique and I feel very proud to have put the name of my country on high, but also to have met wonderful people with whom I have a beautiful friendship.

And now that I am participating in the RiseIn and Stellar Challenge, which has allowed me to show my work at an international level and where I am also learning a lot of things about content creation in web3.

Advice and reflections

Many of the things I experienced were by chance, I did not expect it, but they led me on a path of growth, today I want to invite you to be curious, get out of your comfort zone and live your life to the fullest.

If you are interested in a specific area or field, try to follow its referents, research on the internet, take advantage of the ease of today to connect with different parts of the world and get a lot of information.

I also encourage you to participate in events, courses, talks and other activities on web3, I started this way, when attending an online event, you can search on X for active communities in English, Spanish or other languages.

Personal impact

The impact of knowing Stellar was great, I am not a developer, but I am quite interested in decentralized finance and web3 projects. In that sense, I was able to explore and create new ideas that I can execute in my country.

It also motivated me to open my own blog, where I am writing now, which is something I really like to do. Learning and sharing what I have been learning all this time with more people that maybe are just starting out.

Conclusions and my next steps

Among my next steps are:

• Continue writing educational articles.

• Take action on the projects I create about Stellar.

• To teach everything I have learned to the Bolivian community.

• And to participate actively in the web3 communities at national and international level.

I still have a lot to learn, that's why I keep passing courses, attending talks and events, I want to grow even more professionally and personally. And as a last piece of advice for today I say to you: find what you like, what makes you happy and what you are good at because then you can work with passion on it.

Stellar enables the creation of decentralized platforms that connect students with donors around the world to support them financially. These platforms use the Stellar network to transfer funds quickly and affordably, eliminating middlemen and ensuring that resources reach students directly.

For example: Impact Market is a platform that uses Stellar to fund scholarships and educational projects in emerging countries. Through this network, donors can directly fund students who need help to continue their studies, this whole process could have been very long and complicated, but now they are guaranteed that everything is transparent and that the funds arrive correctly.

I think this is a great idea and a great support, which could also be replicated in our countries, generating greater opportunities for students at different levels of education.

2.      Certification of competencies and diplomas

Another use of Stellar in education is the issuance of diplomas and digital academic certificates that can be verified through the blockchain. This is a major breakthrough because this not only eliminates the risk of forgery, but also allows students to keep and share their credentials digitally and securely.

For example: The Open University has explored how to use Stellar to issue academic certifications that are immutable and verifiable by employers and other educational institutions.

This is another idea that I find very interesting since I was able to live this change between the physical and the digital and the truth is that I was very happy with this type of certifications through the blockchain, because it makes safe and reliable when looking for a job or academic scholarships, among other uses.

Ideas for educational projects in LATAM using Stellar

As blockchain technology continues to evolve, the opportunities for integrating Stellar into the educational sector in Latin America are immense. Here are some ideas that would be very interesting to apply in our region:

• Micro-scholarship platform for students in rural areas

In Latin America, many students in rural areas do not have access to higher education due to lack of resources. Therefore, a platform based on Stellar could allow these students to receive micro-scholarships from international donors in a transparent and direct way. And the funds would be sent through the Stellar network in stable currency, avoiding volatility and ensuring that the money goes to education.

How it would work: Students would be able to apply through the platform, verifying their data and educational goals. Donors, for their part, would have the opportunity to view profiles and choose who to support, with the guarantee that the funds would go directly to the beneficiary without any problems.

• Digital library with access tokenization

Access to quality educational material is limited in many parts of Latin America, so a platform could be created in Stellar that could tokenize access to a digital library offering books, academic articles and educational resources. In turn, and to generate sustainability, students could earn tokens through academic assignments, volunteering or even recommending other students and teachers.

How it would work: Users would earn tokens that could be redeemed for specific educational resources. These could be obtained through participation in collaborative tasks or community activities, promoting not only access to education, but also engagement with the community, but not only that it is a job for students but also for teachers and staff of educational establishments.

• Blockchain certification system for public universities

In some LATAM countries, certification and validation systems for academic degrees are very bureaucratic and vulnerable to fraud and even more so in the case of public universities. So Stellar could be used to create a system where degrees and certifications are issued directly on the blockchain, guaranteeing their validity and allowing them to be easily verified by employers and other institutions.

How it would work: Universities would issue tokenized degrees in Stellar, so graduates would have an immutable digital certificate that could be validated anywhere in the world without the need for intermediaries, eliminating unnecessary costs and time.

Today I want to tell you a little bit about what Stellar is doing in web3. As you may already know, one of the main characteristics of this ecosystem is decentralization, that is, users' control over their data and the elimination of intermediaries in general.

In this context, Stellar is becoming one of the most significant platforms in this area because of its capacity to provide quick, easy-to-access, and effective solutions—in this example, in the financial sector.
