How to Participate in the LBP?

To prepare yourselves, there are a few steps that you need to have done before the LBP kicks off.

Adding Arbitrum to Metamask

Network Name: Arbitrum One

New RPC URL: https://arb1.arbitrum.io/rpc

Chain ID: 42161

Currency Symbol: ETH

Block Explorer URL: https://arbiscan.io/

Once you have filled in these details, your network will be added to the wallet. You can now copy your wallet address and start transferring funds to and from the wallet!

Step 1 — Set up a wallet

To participate you will need to hold a funding token. This is the token that will be used to buy into the token that’s being launched through the LBP. For our LBP you will need to hold ETH in Metamask. There will be no other wallets supported so please ensure you set this up prior to participation.

Step 2 — Fund wallet

Once you have installed Metamask you will need to send ETH to your Metamask wallet. You can send this from a centralised exchange you purchased this from or transfer it from another decentralised wallet. We will be launching $WEAVEsn on Arbitrum so ensure you are transferring your ETH to Arbitrum-One

Step 3 — Connect to Fjord

Now you have your funding tokens in your wallet, you can visit Fjord and connect your wallet. Click the “Connect Wallet” button in the top right hand of the screen and choose your wallet.

Your wallet will show it is connected once the “Connect Wallet” button in the previous section shows part of your Arbitrum address.

Step 4 — Buy into the LBP

Once you have selected the WEAVE LBP, you will see the following screen. The contents of the screen may vary depending on whether the LBP is yet to start, in progress or concluded.

Buying Strategy

The features that make Fjord Foundry unique are that the distribution is typically more equitable, open and transparent. This is due to the price decay model, where the price of the token moves from a high market cap, to a low market cap depending on the weights set up by the LBP creator. This is done to prevent bots, frontrunners, and whales from scooping up all the supply that happens on other platforms.

It is important to understand this concept and to be wary at the beginning of the LBP.

PRICE DISCOVERY AT THE OPENING OF THE LBP

We have set a higher price at the start of the LBP to prevent sniper bots. If there are no new buyers at the higher early prices, the price reduces over time to a more realistic market cap/price.

During the course of the LBP you may step in once the price reaches a point that feels realistic to you and remember that prices can be volatile.

Prior to the purchase, you may need to approve the tokens via your Metamask. This can be done by clicking the “Approve Usage” button. Please keep in mind that there is a small fee associated with this which can vary depending on the price of Arbitrum gas at the time. We strongly recommend using the Metamask recommended fee to complete your transactions.

Please note that neither Fjord Foundry nor WEAVE earns anything from the fees charged by the Arbitrum network and that we can’t control the cost of these fees.

Once the tokens have been approved you can purchase $WEAVEsn. The purchase of $WEAVEsn will incur another small transaction fee on the Arbitrum network.

Step 5 — You are now a $WEAVEsn holder

Once this swap is done you will have your tokens and you can sit back and enjoy the view, or get back in for more.

Reasoning behind a synthetic token approach

Everything we have done and all decisions we make have always the platform and our users in mind.

The reason for the synthetic approach and the TGE being on the same date as our platform going fully live is that we don’t want a scenario where one of the two is launched separately as our token and platform are heavily weaved together.

We still want to provide the opportunity for early investors but not to then dump the token on day one. This is why we have a vesting period which will ensure a fair price development, where demand should outweigh the sell pressure and benefit all of our token holders in the long run.
