Most people think you need to be hired full-time to start contributing in Web3.

I’ve learned the opposite: you just need to start.

I began with a MetaMask wallet, some curiosity, and a decision to share everything I was learning. I wrote blogs, joined quests, and reached out to projects I genuinely liked.

Sometimes I didn’t get replies. Sometimes I did. But I never stopped writing.

Each post improved my skill, and each DM gave me clarity on how Web3 projects hire contributors.

I may not have a Web3 job title yet, but I’ve already built a portfolio, grown my network, and even received responses from projects like Galxe.

This isn’t just a hustle. It’s a movement.

I’m building publicly. I’m proving with action. And I’m not stopping anytime soon.

Not long ago, I was just getting familiar with Web3 — reading, exploring, and learning how to navigate wallets, quests, and on-chain activity. I never imagined I’d be applying to contribute to one of the biggest Web3 platforms: Galxe.

But here we are.

Applying as a Web3 Writer

After spending time documenting my Web3 journey and creating content around platforms like Layer3 and Galxe, I finally decided to take a bold step — I sent a message directly to Galxe, sharing my blog and offering to contribute to their ecosystem.

To my surprise, they responded.

They appreciated my effort and sent me a link to apply for their contributor program. That moment gave me real confidence — not just in my writing, but in the idea that Web3 truly rewards people who show up and build in public.

What the Application Asked For

The form was short but important.

They asked questions like:

• How long I’d been using Galxe

• If I had previous contributor experience

• What I knew about Galxe

• My understanding of Web3

Even though I’m still early in my journey, I answered honestly. I talked about how I use Galxe to explore on-chain quests, how I’ve written about my experience, and what I’ve learned by being part of the Web3 ecosystem — even as a newcomer.

Key Lessons I Learned

• You don’t need to be an expert to start.
  Just being curious and active already sets you apart.

• Documenting your journey is a real contribution.
  Your blog, posts, and honest voice can inspire others and get noticed by real teams.

• Web3 values action more than credentials.
  Nobody asked for my degree — they looked at my blog.

For Anyone Thinking of Applying Too...

Here’s my advice:
Don’t wait to be “ready.” Just start.
Even if your experience feels small, it’s still valuable. Share your thoughts, write your story, and reach out to the people behind the projects you love.

That’s exactly how I got this opportunity.

What’s Next?

While I wait for the final response from Galxe, I’m continuing to write, apply, and connect. The journey doesn’t stop here — this is only one step toward building a real Web3 writing career.

So I started documenting everything I was learning — from Layer3 to Galxe to setting up my wallet.

What began as just taking notes became my way of building something real.

📚 Now, I have:

• A blog on Paragraph

• Threads on X

• And a growing understanding of the Web3 space

I’m not earning big yet, but I’ve already seen how writing opens doors in Web3:

• Projects start noticing you

• People follow your journey

• You attract real bounties and offers

This blog is a reminder that even if you start with nothing, writing can be your Web3 superpower.

💡 My advice to beginners: Don’t wait to get paid.
Start by learning in public — your next opportunity might come from your last post.

This is just the beginning.

People kept talking about crypto, wallets, and quests — but I didn’t really understand what any of it meant. I wasn’t a developer. I didn’t have money to invest. And I definitely wasn’t an expert.

But I was hungry to learn.

So I decided to just start.

🌐 My First Step: Layer3

I discovered a platform called Layer3, which gives you XP for doing simple on-chain tasks — kind of like quests in a video game, but in crypto.

I set up a MetaMask wallet, connected it to Layer3, and began exploring. Some tasks needed Ethereum, which I didn’t have, but that didn’t stop me. I focused on the learning part, not the earning part.

Through this, I learned what it means to:

• Complete an on-chain transaction

• Track experience (XP) and streaks

• Start building a real Web3 identity

🧩 Next: Galxe Quests

After Layer3, I joined Galxe — another platform that rewards users for helping with marketing or onboarding tasks.

I couldn’t complete every quest (some require holding NFTs or tokens), but I was getting real experience, and that mattered more than anything.

✍ The Turning Point: Writing It Down

I started documenting everything I learned in blogs and threads.

I didn’t wait to be an expert. I just shared what I was doing, what worked, and what didn’t. Over time, this became a portfolio of content that showed I was active in the space — even though I wasn’t yet making money.

🔗 Now I Have a Portfolio

Using Notion, I built a free Web3 writing portfolio. I added:

• My blogs

• X threads

• Projects I explored

• My Web3 journey from Day 1

It may not be fancy, but it’s real — and it’s mine.

💡 My Advice to Other Beginners:

If you’re new to Web3 and don’t know where to start:

Don’t wait. Just start.

Set up a wallet. Join Layer3 or Galxe. Share your experience.

You don’t need money or connections — just curiosity and consistency.

This is only the beginning of my journey — and I’ll keep sharing as I go.
