I will make a lot of mistakes and have my fair share of failures. As I learn from them, hopefully you will learn too.

I also hope this series will inspire you to start your own journey and work towards whatever goals you have. Too often when pursuing our goals we spend so much time consuming information and obsessing over the details that we forget to actually start. This is a problem I had, and the need to overcome it has significantly affected the way I’m approaching this series.

At the moment of writing this, I’m 22 years old, I live in a poor country in Europe and I’m pretty much broke. I’ve spent the last 4 years studying management science and technology in the best business school in my country, but getting a degree and a 9–5 job is not for me. I don’t want to get a degree to get a solid job, in a solid company, with a solid salary. I know, hating the 9–5 is the most Zoomer thing ever but I feel there’s a valid reason for that.

The old way is a path towards a game that I’m not interested in playing, the game of employee benefits, corporate culture and promotions. I’ve spent the last 4 years mostly being curious, experimenting, and consuming information on the internet, which allowed me to understand that there’s a better game, which is more exciting, more rewarding, more up-to-date and generally more fitting to the things I want to do.

This is a game where you can set up million dollar businesses in weeks, you can make a year’s salary with one piece of content, and you can meet the smartest person you’ve ever met in a Discord server.

This new game, the one dominated by online platforms, applications, software tools, digital products, and content creation, is the playing field I want to dominate. It’s the economy of the internet, technology, and innovation. I want to master this space, build cool shit, make tons of money, and have fun.

So this story is going to take place in a very exciting(to me at least) world, the world of startups, online enterpreneurship, tech, and business. Inside online communities and social media platforms. I’ve explored this world only briefly but I know a few of things about it through listening and watching people that have excelled in it. Now, it’s time to step into the field myself.

Here’s the type of content you should expect from me:

Becoming Limitless in 21 days

Have you seen the movie Limitless with Bradley Cooper? Basically, it’s about a guy who takes a special drug (NZT48) that 10xs his brain power and makes him a genius (but also destroys his body). In the movie he becomes extremely successful in everything he does and he’s able to learn and think 100 times faster than other people, just because he’s that much smarter than them. There’s no such thing as NZT48 in real life but the movie illustrates an important point:

Having a stronger brain than everybody else is a huge advantage.

My goals require me to work 10x harder and 10x smarter than the average person, so, if I want to have a chance at achieving them, I need my mind to be the X-factor that sets me apart and allows me to perform extraordinarily.

I’m going to create a simple brain training plan and follow it for at least 21 days, documenting my progress on the internet.

Becoming the Kobe Bryant of Business

I’m going to try to master my craft as an online enterpreneur by following the Kobe Bryant approach:

Study the game, Find the skills you need, Work until you perfect them.

The skills that can make you a dominant player in the modern digital economy are far different than what we learn in school or university, and they’re constantly changing. The modern game requires you to be good at getting attention, making connections, coding, writing copy, selling online, using newer technologies like AI, utilizing social media, and many, many more

Obviously not all skills will be equally important for what I want to do. That’s normal. Being a good ballhandler is more important for a guard than it is for a center.

With that being said, I’m going to build a modern business skill tree that covers everything and then prioritize what matters most to me. The goal is to make the skill tree useful for everyone interested in being successful in this new economy, no matter what path they choose to follow.

Visions of the future

One of the things that fascinate (and scare) me is how quickly our world is changing.

When we think about the future, we often just imagine ourselves older in the current world. But that’s not how things work. Technologies like the internet, the smartphone, and social media changed our lives fundamentally. Is web3, AI, and VR going to do the same? How will advancements in neuroscience and biotechnology impact the world? Will oil become outdated?

Asking ourselves how’s the world going to look like in 5,10,15 years in the future is more than a fascinating thought experiment. It allows us to prepare for the future and find opportunities in places where other people don’t even know exist.

Every now and then I will be making such pieces, first of all because it is fun, second of all because I may predict something correctly and then look smart, and third of all because I may predict something so wrongly that it’ll be hilarious. It may also help some people get a fresh perspective.

Business ideas

I love to come up with business ideas so you should expect this to be a big part of this series. 99% of them will never be built by me (I only have so much time), so feel free to steal them. The 1% that I do plan to actually execute on, will become small side projects that I will work on in public.

Fair warning: Some of these ideas will be terrible but I can guarantee they will be more interesting than the “15 business ideas to start in 2023!” you see on YouTube (which 9/10 times is something like start a blog, do dropshipping, create a course etc).

Building in public

This is the most interesting, but probably overly ambitious, thing I plan to do with this account. I’m going to build multiple online businesses in 2023, all while documenting every step of the way. The goal is to do everything in public so that people can learn and get entertained/inspired. Why do I think this is overly ambitious? One word. Time.

I have so much in my plate right now that I don’t know how I will be able to pull this off. I’ll have to force myself to get creative. I’ll have to master going from 0–1 in days instead of months. Maybe I’ll introduce this as a type of challenge, something like “Launching a business in less than a week”. Maybe the time constraints can force me to think out of the box and make even more interesting content.

Types of projects I plan to work on:

Business ideas that are easy to execute, automate, and set up

Things like digital products, small apps, notion templates etc. Some of these will be from my business ideas list, and some will be based on stuff I see on the internet

Businesses from my business ideas list

Mostly what I think has the most potential and will be super fun to build. Some things I have in mind: An AI chatbot, an NFT project, a niche e-commerce shop, a Social Media influencer business, a Data Business, a streetwear brand, an educational platform, a social media app

Trying out things that you see on “Make Money Online” YouTube

You’ve probably seen YouTube videos who’re like: “Set up an e-commerce store that does $100/day” in less than 24 hours!”. Well I’m going to put those to the test, live. I’m going to follow their instructions step by step, and share the results. If they fail, I’m going to give myself an extra day or two to add my own twist and see if I can fix it. No matter the result, it will make interesting content (and allow me to get some extra reps on business building)

My first startup

Realistically, I don’t think I’ll find myself in the position of being able to drop everything and start a company in 2023. On the other hand, who knows? If that happens, I’ll try my best to build this thing in public

Business stories and trends in the tech and enterpreneurial world

I’m going to be keeping up with the business world regardless, so when I find something interesting I might as well create content about it. I’m going to be talking about business success stories (and failures) and share what we can learn from them and their business models.

Other types of business and tech content

Things like: “What’s REALLY going on in Twitter” or “I asked AI Steve Jobs how to build the next Apple”. Generally content that doesn’t fit any of the other categories but is still valuable and interesting.

This post came out way longer than expected but at least it covers everything with clarity. If you made it all the way down here, I appreciate you.

Anyways, here’s my Twitter

That’s where most of the building will happen. DMs are open and I’ll follow you back unless you look like a bot (or post really shitty content).
