Now enter the game to experience the journey of a free player and explore some new features.

Every zKey address can join community raffles to get Seeds, and receive a free Flowerpot to grow them. Remember to copy your zKey address to join the raffles!

zKey will be your main account in XAR. zKey is the zkLogin wallet on Starknet developed by XAR team, leveraging zero-knowledge proof to verify your very familiar Web2 social accounts. With the addition of session key and paymaster, new users can create a wallet and start interacting with Starknet in just a few seconds, without the need to manage a third-party wallet client or manually sign for each transaction.

zKey now supports Google account, and will integrate with more mainstream accounts like Apple, Meta, Telegram in the future.

Nov 15th: Earn Seeds via the Friend System

Starting from Nov 15th, you can get Seeds by hodling Personas or following other Persona hodlers as described in the Planting System.

We will integrate a Seed claiming interface on the official website. Bind your existing wallets with Personas to your zKey address, and start inviting friends.

Each Persona hodler can invite another player to follow them using an invite code to earn 1 Seed, and each follower will also receive 1 Seed. The number of Seeds varies by Persona level, as shown in the table below. For example, a Level 1 Persona holder can distribute 3 invite codes, earning up to 3 Seeds, with each follower receiving 1 Seed.

Nov 21st: Mainnet Launch

The 21st will mark the most important event: the Starknet Mainnet Launch!

Starting from the 21st, players can experience all features playing the game.

Persona hodlers will be able to consume Energy to earn Voxels, which are ERC-1155 tokens. In the future, you can use these Voxels to craft items or clone new Personas.

Seed hodlers can start planting and harvesting rare glowing Voxels, which can be used to craft special items and are necessary materials to clone Personas.

Don’t worry if you don’t hodl any assets—our game will be fully accessible for all users for free! Every user will receive a certain amount of free Energy, which can't directly be used to obtain Voxel, but can be spent to explore game features and complete storyline quests. We welcome all users to experience the product and help build the AR world together.

Nov 28th: Start Trading Voxels

Currently, zKey is not compatible with secondary markets. The ability to trade through other existing wallets will only be possible once zKey launches the ERC-1155 transfer feature. Note that this does not mean your Voxels are off-chain before the transfer; zKey is a non-custodial wallet, so all your assets will always remain on-chain.

The transfer feature will be available starting the 28th, allowing you to transfer Voxels to other existing wallets and trade them on secondary markets like Element.

In the future, XAR will also develop an integrated marketplace, enabling users to trade Voxels directly with zKey without needing to perform transfers.

Benefits of Rose Seeds

Planting Rose Seeds will yield significant rewards.

In the game, each seed planted will grant you a Red Glowing Voxel. Glowing Voxels are rare voxels that can only be generate by planting Seeds, and will be essential for cloning new Personas.

Seed Distribution

To ensure every player has a chance to acquire Rose Seeds, we’ve designed the following distribution system:

• Join Community Raffles

  • We will collaborate with KOLs and communities to run raffles. Don't miss the chance to participate!

  • Each user (one zKey address) can win up to 5 Seeds through this method.

• Be or Follow A Persona Hodler:

  • Each Persona hodler can invite another player to follow them using an invite code to earn 1 Seed, and each follower will also receive 1 Seed. The number of Seeds varies by Persona level, as shown in the table below. For example, a Level 1 Persona holder can distribute 3 invite codes, earning up to 3 Seeds, with each follower receiving 1 Seed.

  • No additional Seeds will be awarded beyond those associated with the invite codes. If the Persona is transferred or if someone unfollows, the count will not reset.

  • Each user (one zKey address) can earn up to 5 Seeds by following Persona hodlers. This can be combined with Seeds earned through community raffles or by becoming a hodler themselves. For example, if Alice is a Level 1 hodler, she can earn up to 13 seeds: 3 from having at least 3 followers, 5 from following at least 5 other hodlers, and up to 5 Seeds from community raffles.

Flowerpots to Increase Productivity

Flowerpots will determine Seed yield, with each pot allowing only one Seed to be planted per day. Each Seed has a planting cycle of 20 hours, allowing you to harvest your rewards everyday. For example, if Alice has 13 Seeds, it will take her 20 hours per Seed, resulting in a total of 260 hours to obtain 13 Red Glowing Voxels.

New users start with one Flowerpot by default, which cannot be transferred.

We will also introduce a special Flowerpot that will become an on-chain NFT, distributed in a limited manner.

We expect to launch on the Starknet mainnet in the coming weeks, after which we will immediately enter the Mainnet Beta Phase, and Personas will become functional. This article will detail the specific utilities and values of Personas during the Mainnet Beta Phase.

Persona to Energy

Each rarity level of Personas corresponds to a specific energy value. Energy serves as the fundamental fuel for all activities in this world, and playing the game requires energy consumption. Energy exists off-chain and cannot be transferred.

The Energy value is determined based on this formula(l refers to levels).

The Energy value determines the maximum amount of Energy a user can regenerate every 8 hours. If the Energy is fully regenerated, it will not continue to increase.

If an account holds multiple Personas, both the energy cap and regeneration time will stack. If you hold up to 3 Personas, the regeneration efficiency will also stack. For example, if you own 3 Level 1 Personas, your Energy will fully regenerate to 100 * 3 = 300 points within 8 hours. However, if you hold 4 or more Personas, the regeneration efficiency won’t stack, and the system will prioritize energy regeneration based on the highest-level Persona.

For instance, if A holds three Level 1 Personas (Energy value of 100) and one Level 2 Persona (Energy value of 148), the system will first regenerate 148 + 100 + 100 = 348 points within 8 hours, followed by an additional 100 points over the next 8 hours, after which the energy will stop increasing further.

Additionally, each account can link up to 9 Personas.

Energy to $VOXEL

Players can use Energy to shoot at objects within XAR, which we refer to as Creations. All Creations are composed of standard Voxel blocks, which are ERC-1155 tokens. By consuming Energy, players can obtain $VOXEL tokens through shooting.

Each point of Energy has a power value of 27, corresponding to a $VOXEL drop rate of 4%. This means that 1 point of Energy can shoot out 1.08 $VOXEL tokens. Assuming a level 1 Persona, the maximum daily Energy output is 100 * 3 = 300, resulting in a maximum $VOXEL output of 324.

Mainnet Beta to X

The upcoming mainnet launch marks the most important milestone for XAR. It’s the beginning of our on-chain economy and the foundation for building a truly strong community consensus.

Unlike traditional GameFi projects that often fall into the "farm and dump" trap, we’re focused on developing genuinely fun and innovative features, creating a long-lasting economy that grows like a nation.

In the near future, we’ll be rolling out even more exciting systems, such as cloning and simulation systems, so stay tuned!

• Value Adjustments:

  • The value of Voxel drop rate of Persona holders has been changed from [20%] to [4%], and the drop rate of non-holders are set to be 0.2% accordingly.

Starting from 4 PM Oct 10th(UTC+8), the rarity of each Persona will be revealed one by one, in the order of ID number. You don’t need to do anything—wait for the time to come, refresh the page, and you’ll see it!

Persona Rarity

The rarity of Persona is divided into 9 levels: Common, Rare, Superior, Epic, Legendary, Supreme, Mythic, Ultimate, and Prime.

Each rarity level is represented by an 8-bit binary code, where the number of consecutive zeros starting from the least significant bit (rightmost) indicates the rarity level. For example, 11111100 represents Epic (2 trailing zeros).

Rarity Generation Rules

Each binary code is randomly generated on-chain, ensuring full transparency and fairness.

We'll initiate a separate transaction for every Persona to determine its rarity. Each transaction is independent, using three key parameters: the transaction hash, block timestamp, and the Persona’s token ID. These are combined to generate a code, which is then converted into a binary code to determine the Persona’s rarity based on the chart in the previous section.

The rarity reveal will follow the order of Persona ID numbers, starting at 4 PM on Oct 10th(UTC+8), and likely to continue for several hours. You can estimate when your Persona’s rarity will be revealed by its token ID number. Once generated, simply refresh the page to see the result.

Avatar Change

Starting at 4 PM on Oct 10th(UTC+8), you’ll be able to replace the cover with your unique Avatar. You can set your Avatar for free the first 3 times; from the 4th time onwards, it will cost 1 $STRK. The number of changes is cumulative, and trading your NFT won’t reset the count.

Step 1: Go to the XAR official website https://www.x.ar/

Step 2: Click on the upper right corner of the homepage to log in.

Step 3: Go to the Persona Page.

Step 4: Prepare your unique Persona image and save it in the Draft.

Step 5: Connect your wallet, make sure you have at least one Persona.

Step 6: Click the Persona you want to modify and put your Avatar on. The full information of Persona will be displayed on the right side of the image when clicked.

Step 7: Now you can change the Persona's name and appearance. Choose an image from the Draft or generate a new one to create your own unique Persona. There might be a 2-3-minute delay in syncing your Persona.

Avatar Generation Tips

Here are some tips to polish your Avatar.

1. Since our AI is specifically customized and trained for real human portraits, we recommend using your selfie photos to ensure stable generation results. Example:

2. Choose a clear portrait image with an unobstructed face, bright lighting, and a relatively simple background for generation.

3. If you want to use images that are not real human portraits, we recommend disabling the "Generate with AI" feature to achieve a better pixelated effect.

4. Since the background removal algorithm is the unique function of AI, the Persona generated from the images you upload will still retain the original background if "Generate with AI" is disabled. Example:

Since the XAR world operates on-chain, we can measure its growth using two metrics: DAU (Daily Active Users) and ITV (Internal Transaction Volumes). DAU represents the user base of internet products, akin to the total population of an economy. ITV, an on-chain exclusive metric, measures productivity and economic vitality, similar to GDP.

The XAR world is measured by the DAU-ITV model and comprises several key components.

Energy: The Force Fuelling All Activities

The world starts with Energy. In XAR, Energy represents users' physical strength or productive force. Only by consuming Energy can users extract resources and start production. The amount of Energy determines the world’s productivity, as it dictates how many resources can be extracted.

Energy is inherent to every user and cannot be traded. It replenishes over time but has a storage limit. Users need to engage with the app periodically to consume Energy, maximizing its utilization and generation.

Energy empowers active users and serves as the foundational driving force of the XAR world.

$VOXELs: The Building Blocks of XAR

$VOXELs are the building blocks and resources for production in XAR. All goods in the XAR world, known as Creations, are composed of $VOXELs. These are standard 4cm x 4cm cubes, perfect for building and composing 3D objects. As ERC20 tokens, they are also easy to trade.

Users consume Energy to blast Natural Creations and obtain $VOXELs. Natural Creations continuously spawn in the XAR world, and blasting them for $VOXELs is akin to mining resources in the natural world. The amount mined depends on the available Energy.

Users can also blast Shared Creations to get $VOXELs. Shared Creations, built by users, mirror the recycling of resources from buildings. However, some $VOXELs are destroyed in the process, reflecting the natural world's entropy where resources are lost in each cycle.

The $VOXELs drop rate is higher for blasting Shared Creations than for Natural Creations. This incentivizes recycling over extracting, contributing to the economic cycle, as further explained in the “$BATTERYs” section.

Creations: Diverse Entities Constituting the World

In XAR, the world is composed of diverse entities called Creations. There are Natural Creations, like mountains, rivers, ores, and minerals, and Shared Creations, man-made items constructed by users, like houses, gardens, airplanes, and trains.

While Natural Creations have limited formations, Shared Creations reflect unlimited human imagination. Shared Creations are summoned as copies of original vNFTs, the prototypes of all objects in this world that embody human wisdom and creativity. Generating vNFTs requires only creative minds, and they can be traded. The owner of a specific vNFT shares a portion of future rewards from all Shared Creations summoned from it, akin to proprietary income.

Summoning a Shared Creation consumes $VOXELs needed to compose the object. Shared Creations cannot be traded but can be recycled by blasting, with some $VOXELs lost in the process.

Regular users can create vNFTs using magic spells powered by our AIGC toolbox, crafting fireworks, house decorations, and 3D avatars. Professional creators can craft amazing art using our voxel-based building engine, Aries, similar to building in Minecraft or Sandbox.

Renowned IPs can construct their own universes within XAR. For example, in the XAR realm, we could establish an exclusive Marvel universe where users might encounter Iron Man on the street, witness Doctor Strange explaining time's mysteries in a library, or spot Ant-Man unexpectedly.

Shared Creations define our world, enhancing reality and rebuilding the world we interact with. The diversity and growth of Shared Creations reflect the growing value of the XAR world.

$BATTERYs: Tokens to Incentivize Social Interactions

$BATTERYs are tradable coins incentivizing social interactions with various utilities.

When a Shared Creation is recycled into $VOXELs, the Energy used by the blaster is transformed into $BATTERYs, distributed respectively to the original vNFT creator, the Shared Creation builder, and the porter who shares the Creation to our world feed. $BATTERYs reward and incentivize those who create, summon, and share Creations, adding versatility to the world.

The higher drop rate for Shared Creations incentivizes builders to consume $VOXELs and create, likely retrieving $BATTERYs as rewards. Only when $VOXELs become too expensive will people start blasting Natural Creations.

$BATTERYs serve as currencies in the XAR world. Users can use $BATTERYs to replenish Energy, get Acceleration Tools to increase Energy recovery speed, and purchase Protection Shields to prevent Shared Creations from being destroyed.

Conclusion: Why the DAU-ITV Model is the Future of Sustainable Product Development

The XAR world mirrors the real world economy in how people use strength to extract materials, create goods, and recycle them into materials again. The more people create and exchange goods, the more prosperous the economy becomes.

DAU(Daily Active Users) corresponds to Population in the real-world economy. People with Energy are the driving force of an economy. This metric ensures that the economy's growth is directly tied to user engagement.

ITV(Internal Transaction Volumes) corresponds to GDP in the real-world economy. Although slightly different - GDP excludes intermediate goods consumed in the production process, while ITV does not - they are still strongly correlated. A larger ITV essentially equates to an economy with stronger productivity and more vitality. The revenue of XAR comes from taxation on ITV, which also depends on XAR's own economic size.

The DAU-ITV model offers a compelling framework for sustainable product development, as it aligns with the two most important indicators in the real-world economy: Population and GDP. As the infrastructure of Web3 matures, we will witness an increasing number of valuable DApps, while casinos gradually decline. These valuable DApps, akin to our real-world economy, will reflect people's creativity and productivity, enhancing our lives and approaching the reality of the economy. Therefore, we need this new model, DAU-ITV, to measure the value of future DApps.

Overcoming Web3 Onboarding Challenges

There are two major challenges to Web3 onboarding:fiat-crypto-exchange and wallet setup. While the former relies on mediation with the traditional financial world, the latter depends purely on the native technology innovation of crypto.

Metamask is still the dominating wallet to this date. It emphasizes self-custody prioritizing security at the expense of user experience. Though speculative gains lure some users, high onboarding barriers deter many who prioritize user-friendly platforms like social media and gaming. The high barrier of entry for blockchain obstructs users who come for the experience, leaving only casinos.

To address this issue, we need to implement a simpler onboarding process. We need something that does not require a learning curve, and that every netizen can easily access. The answer is zkLogin.

zkLogin Bridges Security and Convenience

zkLogin bridges the gap between security and convenience. In essence, it leverages zero-knowledge proof to verify a user’s Web2 credential as the key to the on-chain wallet while keeping it private from others.

Here's a simplified overview of the process:

• Users generate a public-private key pair locally and then verify their identity through OpenID Connect-enabled platforms to verify their Web2 identities.

• They provide the public key along with the Web2 identity credential to the ZKP service, which operates locally or through a third-party network run in the trusted computing environment, thus keeping information secure. The ZKP service then generates a zero-knowledge proof, which is passed to the on-chain Authentication Contract. The Authentication Contract can verify that the user is indeed the wallet owner without knowing any sensitive information -  public key or Web2 identity.

• Upon successful verification, the wallet can be set up or recovered. If a user loses their public-private key, they can log in with their original Web2 credential, reset the key pair, and regain access.

On Starknet, there's a unique advantage: native support for smart contract wallets. This allows for wallet recovery by overwriting the public-private key pair within the wallet, making it convenient for users to restore access while keeping the on-chain address unchanged. zkLogin, which pairs with smart contract wallets, presents an elegant solution.

While compromised emails may lead to asset theft, enabling two-factor authentication mitigates this risk, like what we do with Gmail, Twitter, Discord, etc. Moreover, even the OpenID Providers(e.g., Google, Meta, Microsoft) can not know any relations between users' Web2 identity and their on-chain addresses, so no one could exert censorship on any particular parties.

In summary, zkLogin allows one-click wallet login while keeping on-chain and Web2 identities separate. There will be no need for mnemonic phrases, and the process can be completed in 1 second, costing only 1 cent.

zkLogin and Mass Adoption

Scaling has long been the bottleneck to Web3, yet we have witnessed a recent leap. Thanks to the zero-knowledge roll-up technology and the Dencun Upgrade, the gas fee on Starknet for a transaction has declined to merely 1/10th of a cent - a threshold that enables daily interactions to be cost-agnostic. With the paymaster integration, transaction fees on Starknet can be paid in other tokens like ETH/USDT/USDC in addition to STRK. Now we can achieve cheap, secure, and convenient blockchain networks. Soon, we will witness even greater reductions in costs and improvements in speed.

We're at a point comparable to the early days of the internet, just before mass adoption. Simplified login methods are key to achieving widespread adoption. Introducing Hikari -  the zkLogin scheme as our solution to change the entire landscape. The structure enables users to set up and recover their wallets in one click while inheriting the same security levels from Web2.

A Streamlined Onboarding Experience

Now users only need to log in to existing Web2 platforms to get an on-chain wallet, allowing users to seamlessly transition into the Web3 world through familiar interfaces. For first-time transactions, project teams can subsidize gas fees through smart contracts, enabling users to complete transactions effortlessly and cross the threshold into this new realm. Even if users lose their keys, they can reset them with a single click using their Web2 identity, ensuring the safety of their assets. Throughout this entire process, users' Web2 identities and their on-chain addresses remain 'zero-knowledge' to the outside world—external parties cannot ascertain the connection between users' identities, thereby safeguarding users' privacy.

This approach is ideal for high-frequency, low-value transactions such as social media and gaming. There will be no difference between a Web2 or Web3 application during the onboarding process. With reduced gas fees and the integration of smart contract wallets and zkLogin, the barriers to entry are significantly diminished, paving the way for widespread adoption across various platforms. People will see a kaleidoscope of Dapps with lasting values flourishing rather than casinos in different disguises.

The Teams Behind The Effort: XAR and Salus

XAR is developing a Web3 AR social platform, placing user experience at the forefront. AR technology marks the revolution of media, transforming from 2D photos/videos to enhanced 3D content that people can immerse in.  Originating from the Happy Farm team, we aim to be the next-gen viral social platform, leveraging the new interacting media format and the economic system based on blockchains.

We have been searching for a wallet product that offers an extremely smooth experience and safeguards security. Passkey and zkLogin were both under consideration, but Passkey faced limitations due to current device development, whereas zkLogin emerged as the optimal solution currently available. Benefiting from the upgrade of Starknet after EIP-4844, the significant reduction in gas fees has made on-chain verification feasible. Therefore, XAR is actively pushing forward the development of the zkLogin wallet, benefiting the entire Web3 ecosystem

Our partner, Salus, renowned for their expertise in ZK research and security, pioneers the development of a decentralized and modular ZK proof layer. This groundbreaking innovation not only ensures computational privacy and unmatched speed but also significantly reduces the time and cost associated with proof generation while upholding principles of decentralization..

XAR and Salus are jointly working on Hiraki, the zkLogin scheme for Starknet, backed by Starknet Foundation. Hikari, meaning "light" in Japanese, encapsulates zkLogin's seamless and rapid registration and login experience. It also represents zkLogin's potential to break through the current confines of Web3, ushering in true mass adoption.

Through years of evolution, virtual world games have produced numerous masterpieces, from the early days of World of Warcraft to the enchanting The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the timeless Minecraft, not to mention the iconic GTA series and The Witcher series. These great works share a common goal: to mimic the physical world and offer players a freedom that surpasses reality.

Remember the exhilaration of your first flight on a griffin in Azeroth, the amusement of tricking pig monsters in Hyrule for the hundredth time, or the thrill of discovering a cache of diamonds deep underground? These moments capture the excitement and satisfaction that come from transcending the physical world. So, why not augment the physical world itself, allowing people to achieve a greater sense of freedom and fulfilment in real life? That's the aim of the augmented world.

The dream of the augmented world is rapidly becoming a reality, fuelled by advancements in AR technology. Today, smartphones serve as gateways to this new realm, turning our immediate surroundings into stages for extraordinary adventures—at no cost beyond the device in your hands. The future promises even more with devices like Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest, signalling an era where living within an augmented world is an uninterrupted, immersive experience.

However, hardware alone is not enough, just like virtual worlds, augmented worlds need a lot of content, gameplay and storytelling. XAR aims to build an open infrastructure for this world, crafted together with its players.

From Atoms to Voxels

Virtual worlds continue to simulate the physical world because of their inherent high degree of freedom. The natural world, with its mountains, rivers, flora, and fauna, provides an almost perfect playground for humans, offering endless exploration, vast freedom, and incredible interactivity. Early Greek philosophers believed that the complexity of all things must be composed of the smallest particles - atoms; and that the ever-changing movement should also follow some basic laws - physics. Modern science can now describe the structure of atoms very clearly, and physics explains most phenomena in our daily lives. The natural world uses atom-based ingenuity to provide humans with a nearly perfect playground, with endless exploration, high degrees of freedom, and excellent interactivity.

But what if we could augment the physical world with AR technology, enhancing its interactivity while drastically reducing the cost of interaction? Our answer is voxels. Voxels in the XAR world act as atoms, freely combining into any item and easily dismantled back into voxels at any time. We also provide a set of rules for voxel-based movement and basic physics laws. With these tools, ore, land, flowers, pots, flying insects, dragons, paintings, sculptures - anything you can imagine can be easily constructed. And all of this will be open-source, accessible, and license-free. The richness of the XAR world will depend on the players, designers, and geniuses who join in building XAR.

From Immediate to Spatial Socialization

Another fascinating aspect of the augmented world is its ability to enhance human socialization from a spatial dimension. Letters were humanity's first augmented social tool, enabling communication across different spaces. The development of modern communication tools - telegraphs, telephones, cell phones, and the internet - has continued to improve this communication, making it more efficient and convenient. Today, you can talk in real-time with friends almost anywhere on the planet and socialize in virtual worlds, where socialization has been maximized in the dimension of time.
